Greetings fight fans, it's Wednesday and we all know what that means; Wednesday Warfare with Honor FC! This one has been scaled back a bit in regards to hype because we have an absolute barn burner scheduled for Saturday, so consider this a bit a of a treat to prepare you for the mayhem we have in store for later on in the week. We do have some news on the business front regarding our partnership with Just Fight clothing, we have completely bought them out of stock! Seems as if there has been a great response from our managers, and remember they are willing to sponsor as many HONOR fighters as possible. With all that being said we still have a lot of interesting fights on the card for tonight so let's get to the preview.

Kelly "Southie" Richardson (0-0) vs "The Swiss Superman" Claudio Castagnoli(0-2)

Interesting first fight here, we have Richardson; who is a high level amateur grappler making his debut against Castagnoli; a man who has been defeated by KO twice here in HONOR but still boasts impressive athleticism and power to boot. This fight does have an interesting dynamic as both men will be exhausted by their travels and Castagnoli is still carrying a deep cut from his last fight. Still I give the nod to Castagnoli due to his experience and power.

Prediction: Castagnoli via (T)KO Round 1

Dario "All-in" Sakara (3-2) vs Han Solo (0-1)

In our second fight we have a couple of good grapplers with solid chins. Both men are coming off of losses in their last matches but those were against very experienced and tough men. They are evenly matched in nearly every way and they each have notably tough chins, I expect there to be a pretty serious feeling out process before it goes to the ground and we get a finish by sub. This fight is so evenly matched that it is very tough to make a prediction but it's my job to take a crack at it! I give Sakara the nod strictly due to level of competition faced and overall cage experience.

Prediction: Sakara via decision

Derec "The Dirty" Waller (4-1) vs "Rosebud" Adam Rose (1-2)

We have a classic mid nineties type match up here in our Light Heavyweight division. Waller brings a ridiculous striking advantage in to this fight but his BJJ is very pedestrian, in fact he is still sporting a white belt. Conversely his opponent Rose has almost no striking experience but is an absolute beast on the ground with his brown belt in BJJ. This is another matchup where I believe that experience will play a huge part, therefore I do believe that Waller can walk away with the win. With that being said if his takedown defense slips even for a second Rose will finish it extremely quickly.

Prediction: Waller via (T)KO Round 1

Darc "The Wild One" Von Hayek (3-2) vs Nobuhiko "CIMA" Oshima (2-3)

This battle in the welterweight division projects to be fairly close, both men have certain advantages and disadvantages regardless of where the fight is taken. Von Hayek comes in with all of his losses coming by strikes but I still believe that Oshima's best chance to win this one is on the ground. I expect him to clinch the less experienced grappler in Von Hayek and force the fight to the ground where he can use his superior BJJ to submit his opponent. That is if he can get through the superior boxing and power of Von Hayek, this one is certainly going to be a close affair and I can see Von Hayek scoring a flash KO, but I do believe that Oshima can grind it out.

Prediction: Oshima via Sub Round 2

Hilio "Hangman" Gracie (15-7) vs "Gung Ho" Vladimir Van Kirkland (18-12)

A couple of ultra experienced journeymen fighters stepping into the cage here. Along with their experience they also bring an intense competitive spirit and a level toughness rarely seen; even within the cage. Each man is looking to get their career back on track as Van Kirkland is trying to rebound from a loss and Gracie is coming off of a much needed win. As usual Gracie has a BJJ advantage and will look to avoid the striking of Van Kirkland. Whenever there is a tight matchup like this I give the nod to the mad that can bring to fight to the ground and control with submission attempts. Like I said before Van Kirkland is incredibly tough and in fact has never been finished with strikes, this will always keep a fighter in a match and I can definitely see him pulling it out. Sadly for him I do see Gracie finishing it via sub, and at the least out pointing him on the ground.

Prediction: Gracie via Sub Round 3

Khru "Big Buddah" Maokhamphiou (7-5-1) vs Mica "Zli Covek" Gavric (6-3)

This is a huge fight for each of these 205'ers as Khru looks to end a four fight losing skid and Gavric looks to prove that his biggest win here in HONOR was not just a fluke. In their last fight Khru rocked Gavric very early and knocked him to the canvas, he then made the fatal mistake of rushing in where Gavric finished the fight by armbar very quickly. I predict this fight to be fairly similar with one exception, Khru will not make the mistake of going to the ground and will instead finish this on the feet with strikes.

Prediction: Khru via (T)KO Round 1

Akira Toriyama (22-7-1) vs "THE KING" Oliver Queen (21-15)

Another really big fight here for these 145 lb fighters as each man looks to catapult towards title contention. Toriyama is a very well rounded and dangerous fighter who is rarely outmatched in any area. He takes on Oliver Queen who has finished a staggering fifteen of his twenty one victories. Given the well rounded nature of each fighter there is only one certainty, this will be a fight of the night candidate. I actually project this one as a decision win because I believe the toughness and gas tank of Toriyama will keep Queens power at bay as Toriyama slowly out strikes and out grapples his opponent. Though each man certainly has slick submissions and one hit KO power.

Prediction: Toriyama via UD

Dack Fayden (13-5) vs "Veliki" Ljuti Hrcak (16-3)

In our main event former HONOR champion Hrcak looks to get back in to the title hunt by defeating the red hot Fayden. Fayden is riding a four fight win streak into this one whilst his opponent is looking to start a streak of his own after his win over hard hitting Alex Irwin. This is an interesting fight because Fayden is more technically sound but Hrcak has a distinct power advantage and may be talented enough on the ground to survive Fayden's usual barrage of submissions. I still expect this to be a bit of a ground battle and unless Hrcak is able to break through with a big swing I predict Fayden to take it.

Prediction: Fayden via Sub Round 3

Wednesday Warfare at the palms projects to be another great fight card in the history of HONOR FC, there is a lot on the line as many of the fighters look to keep their contract with the company and others look to beat famous and popular opponents to get into the title hunt. Good luck to all of the fighters and their managers! I hope everyone is looking forward to an exciting night of fights.
