185lb "The Hellbringer" Franky Bouthillette Vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage

This is going to be one hell of a matchup, "Hellbringer" having been seen to be formidable at pounding his opponents into the dirt and "Macho Man" having a huge right hand that KO'd it's last target in 18 seconds flat!

In contrast to the apparant urgency of Savages swiftly finished last bout we have Bouthillette showing that he's capable of going the distance in an exciting show of groundfighting culminating in more heavy handed cranial atrocities.

Fighting out of New York, youngster Randy Savage is beginning to make a name for himself as a bit of a KO artist and with a more than solid grounding in the gentlemanly art of pugilism this is something that both Bouthillette and any later opponents neglect at their peril, whilst the more experienced Montrealer Franky Bouthillette will surely be thanking his parents both for the local support they have allowed him to garnish but also for the genetics that have given him a chin that might make the difference in staving off any onslaught whilst he seeks an opportunity to make Savages head get stuck between the canvas and a hard place.

A real battle for those lovers of all things brutish and powerful, and it seems as if we will see the victor take to the cage in a Title shot as their next fight.

170lb Ricky ""Toronto Kid Original"" George Vs Ethan "Totoro" Paul

In Ricky George we see another fighter who delights in the art of the KO, the last being with a knee and in under a minute making the "Toronto Kid Original" a very dangerous foe to stand against.

To offset that Ethan Pauls last bout saw him win with a beautiful combination followed by strikes to take the TKO victory, this despite having suffered more than 30 blows to the head and numerous blows to the body proving that not only is "Totoro" certainly not lacking in the stand-up game but that he has the stamina and determination to succeed.

The whisper on the wind is that Ricky George has his eye firmly on the prize, taking "Neon" Leon DeLauriers 170lb belt from him and this is sure to fuel his desire to win although with Brendon "Mean" Aberdeen also avid in his pursuit of the Title we're sure to have some matches to look forward to in the weeks to come.

All that having been said, one successful takedown could change the game entirely.......

170lb Brendon "Mean" Aberdeen Vs Germain Lepreaust

Two Brown Belts and both respectable wrestlers, these fighters are likely to show us what it means to be a groundfighter.

"Mean" Aberdeen with two wins, both submissions and both in the first round, is riding high at the moment and will be looking to use his powerful takedowns to put himself in an advantageous position, hoping no doubt to continue on his chosen path towards the 170lb Title fight. Standing near 5 inches taller than his opponent he may find his longer limbs place him at a slight disadvantage on the floor which is surely where this fight will end up.

Germain Lepreaust, suffering from a jaw jarring defeat via Ricky Georges knee last time out will be lookng forward to being on familiar ground, quite literally, and putting his loss behind him. Expect to see lots of jostling for position and a submission here somewhere folks.

155lb Hughie "Ninja" Beauchemin Vs "The Law" Jed Paul

Having suffered three losses in a row Hughie "Ninja" Beauchemin is raring to go to break that losing streak. This man loves the clinch and woe betide any who find themselves there and facing knee strikes from the "Ninja", Beauchemins only win so far coming as a result of big knee strikes he'll be looking to force the standup with his powerful Kick-Boxing so as to repeat it.

"The Law" Jed Paul is a well rounded fighter with good boxing skills, something he may have to rely on if "Ninja" gets his chance to stand and bang. 3 wins in 3 fights, 2 by submission, marks "The Law" as a skilled fighter with a penchant for dropping the fight to the floor, the result of this bout is truly up for grabs.

185lb Greg Gauge Vs Kurt Shamrock

A very very level field this one, 2 fighters, 2 fights each, purple belts on both and the last bout for Gauge he squeezed a Kimura in 3 seconds before the end whilst Shamrock took it to all the way to a decision.

Gauge is a very confidant fighter who puts in a lot of work whilst Shamrock has shown himself to be a little more judicious and controlling with his moves also having a slight edge with his wrestling ability. Ground punches and armlocks all round on this one.

265lb Mohamed "The Undisputed" Hassan Vs Budi Pekerti

Mohamed "The Undisputed" Hassan has a nickname that requires some living up to and shows a desire to go all the way to the top, a proficient wrestler and groundfighter he holds a modicum of skill in the standup fight too giving him a slight advantage in that area, along with his greater height and natural weight, over his opponent Budi Pekerti. Hassans only win so far being by submission in his last fight he can also draw from more experiance than Pekerti.

Pekerti had the misfortune to have an opponent who struggled and ultimately failed to make weight for his last bout, making it a no contest, leaving his first and only fight as an indicator of what he is capable of. Given that this was against an excellent Muay Thai practitioner and never got past the initial standing start via KO it's extremely misleading. Pekerti is an accomplished wrestler and this will stand him in good stead with Hassan. Expect a good deal of grunting on the floor from these two.

170lb Notrussian Russian Vs Ari Delgado

Notrussian Russian has 2 wins and a loss to his name, all coming in a tournament where he made the semi-final which is not bad as a first outing. Russian is a hugely confidant fighter who likes to stand toe to toe and brawl but with his all round skills he appears to be equally competant wherever the fight takes him.

Ari Delgado has 1 fight 1 loss, a loss that came, coincidentally, against the same opponent that Russian lost to in the same tournament. Delgado is a talented BJJ artist with strong takedowns and will surely be looking to put the fight on the floor asap.

185lb Marcos Anadrade Vs Oscar "Loco" Rivas

Anadrade is a fresh face and this will be his first match-up, looking to match his wrestling skills with Oscar "Loco" Rivas, a more experienced fighter with good all round skills and a very good boxer.

"Loco" with 2 losses fresh in his memory will be wanting to take advantage of his opponants inexperiance and gain back a victory and a change of fortune. All to fight for here for both parties.

185lb Jeebas "Stonehammer" Mclain Vs Julien Tremblay

Two losses in recent history for both of these fighters means a pair of very hungry men in a cage. Surely a recipe for an explosive and entertaining bout.

Jeebas "Stonehammer" Mclain with good Muay Thai, after losing his last 2 to ground moves, may well be looking to stand and exchange blows whilst Tremblay will most certainly wish to take the fight where he's strongest, the mat. It remains to be seen who will put who where they want him.

One to look forward to I think

205lb Ace Cobella Vs Beaver Cleaver

Cobella with one win and Cleaver with two losses, the last fight for each against the same opponent. None of that really makes much of a difference though as Cleaver will be determined to nail this one whilst Cobella will be just as determined to get started on a winning streak.

Despite being a fantastic boxer Cobella nailed his previous bout with a vicious knee, surprising his opponent, in under 2 minutes, whilst  Cleaver is all about his Muay Thai with a good grounding in boxing and a chin that might well be strong enough to stand up to Cobellas lightening strikes.

A fine example of a stand up exchange we're hoping.
