794556Event Preview: Vegas Fight Night 1
Vegas Fight Nights, or simply VFN, will be holding its first event on 2/8/14 in the Micro Arena . VFN 1 will be holding the opening round of an 8-man tournament for the Vegas Fight Night Heavyweight
Championship. It will also feature 5 welterweight fights.
First fight: 170 lbs
**Brock “Candy Bar of Death” Snickers VS Darco “The Desperado” Concalves **
To begin the night we have Brock Snickers, who just came of a controversial loss and began eating snickers bars uncontrollably. He is a looking to get his first win. Will he get it? His opponent Darco Concalves says “HELL NO” Goncalves is also coming off a loss a well, getting stopped in the 2nd round of his MMA debut. Good news is someone will get their first win
Here we go! The first fight of the 8 man tournament to decide the VFN Heavyweight Champion.
**Bart “Eat my Shorts” Simpson VS Jake “Shaker” William**
Our opening fight is a rematch of Simpsons MMA debut. One that seen William get his first win in 3 outings. Simpson will be looking to keep this fight standing, while William will be looking to make Simpson cry uncle again. Which man will advance to the semi-finals?
Third fight: 170lbs
**Butt Wipe VS Damian Maia**
Wipe is making his MMA debut. We have here what should be an interesting fight. Both men are purple belts with Wipe having the better wrestling. Will Butt “wipe” the floor with Maia, or will he get “wiped” out?
Fourth Fight: 170lbs
**Dominik Krajcik VS “The Assassin” Albert Ward**
We have another fighter making his MMA debut tonight. Lets welcome Dominik Krajcik to the MMA world. The assassin on the other hand is a little more experienced having had 7 fights but only going 2-5. Both fighters appear that there gonna wannna keep the fight on the feet. Will Dominik get his first win or will “The Assassin” take him out?
2nd fight of 265lb tournament
**Aurealius Maximus VS Jody “Chimo” Kowalchuk**
Up next we have Aurealius Maximus trying to get his first win. He will be looking to do so by beating up Jody “Chimo” Kowalchuk. Kowalchuk will also be lookin to get his first win as he just lost a close decision. Both men look to be evenly match , with “Chimo” having a slight advantage on the ground. Will that come in to play? We’ll find out but one thing is for sure, someone will get the win and move on to the next round
6th Fight: 170lbs
**Spanish “Fried” Rice VS Jack “The Punisher” Williams**
In our sixth fight of the evening we have a welterweight match up between Rice and Williams. Williams should look to get the fight to the ground as he was brutally KO’d in his last fight. Rice on the other hand will be looking to keep the fight standing and deliver his first MMA victory.
7th Fight: 170
**Mark “Dark Hunter” McGillivary VS Chris “Resident Evil” Redfield **
This event should be zombie free as we have Chris Redfield entering the cage for the first time, Chris is a former members of S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Service's) After years of hunting down and taking out members of an evil corporation, He has decided to take out some aggression the only way he knows how, no not by shootin zombies in the face, but by fighting! Chris has had tons of hand to hand combat experience and is looking to dish out a beat down on “Dark Hunter.” But don’t expect “Dark Hunter” to be a push over, he has tasted victory in the cage before and says its something he plans on continuing.
3rd Fight of 265lb tournament
**Mitar “Micko” Miric VS “Stone Cold” Steve Austin**
The third round of the tournament sees Miric and Austin both making their MMA debuts. Both men are hungry for victory and looking to go all the way and take home the Heavyweight Belt. This should be an action pack fight! When asked about the fight and whats gonna happen, Austin replied, “Im gonna open a big fat can of WHOOP A$$ on that SOB and take the VFN Heavyweight Belt back home to good ol’ Texas where it belongs!! And if you got a problem with that, well quite frankly I don’t give a damn!”
9th Fight: 170 lbs
**Mike “MC” Cooper VS Don “Shino” Omar**
Up next is our Co-Main Event of the night. We have two of VFN’s top welterweights facing of in what could possibly be a title eliminator. Both these guys will probably be looking to keep the fight on the feet, which should make for an action packed fight!
Final fight of the first round of the 265lb tournament
**Victor “Tiger” Sagat VS James “Reaper” Maddox**
Tonight’s Main Event is also the last fight of the opening round of the 265lb tournament. Sagat’s parents must have really loved the game STREET FIGHTER to name their son after a character of a video game. But who could blame them. Sagat is making his MMA debut, but comes into this fight with a lot of hype. Perhaps this is because he is well known for brutal underground fights back in his home of Thailand. His opponent,”Reaper” is holds an impressive 1-0 record with his victory coming by Submission (Triangle)
