GFC 1: The beginning Preview by Kevin Gracey

First of all, I want to say that I'm very excited about this (our first) event. I hope that there will be many spectacular fights and finishes. Good luck to all of you.

Martin Falrmer (1-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Nicolas Smith (0-0) (0-0 GFC)

In my opinion, this fight is one of those when it's really hard to decide and anything can happen, but I would probably give the nod to Nicolas. He's got superior JiuJitsu and if the fight goes on the ground, Falrmer will be tapping in seconds.

Prediction: I think Nicolas Smith will win in 1rd via submission.

Zachary Bender (0-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Takeshi Toriyama (2-1) (0-0 GFC)

This time, I think Takeshi has all the guns needed to win the fight. He's more experienced, has dangerous GnP, and can even try to outbox Zachary in standup. Takeshi has proven to have good Defensive Grappling, so I think the only way for Zachary is trying to control the fight in the clinch using his muay thai.

Prediction: Takeshi Toriyama by 2rd TKO (Strikes).

Joey Durant (0-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Mister Worldwide (0-0) (0-0 GFC).

Both fighters are making their debuts here, but Joey is a stronger fighter in standup, and has submission power. But Worldwide has much better wrestling skills to avoid standup confrontation and use his brown belt BJJ skills to make Joey tap.

Prediction: Mister Worldwide by 3rd submission.

Tai Kiki Tangata Kohuru "The Taniwha" Tangata Kohuru (0-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Radek "Virus" Vagner (0-0) (0-0 GFC).

Here I see only Vagner as the champ. Vagner is slightly weaker in muay thai, they have similar boxing and wrestling, but as soon as it comes to the ground, Radek will definetly submit Tai Kiki in seconds. In my eyes Tai Kiki is a huge underdog, at it would be a huge slap in the face if he proves me wrong.

Prediction: Radek "Virus" Vagner by 1rd submission.

The Steel Penn (1-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Jonny Benson (1-0) (0-0 GFC).

In this fight both fighters have matching BJJ belts, but The Steel Penn has a slight advantage on wrestling. Penn also has ~231k ID so his secondaries or physical atributes should be trained more. On the other hand, Benson can try to use his muay thai to keep the fight in the clinch and score points, while using his wrestling to stop Penn's takedown attempts.

Prediction: The Steel Penn by unanimous decision.

Hector "Macho" Camacho (2-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Joe "The Alligator Man" Ball (1-1) (0-0 GFC).

Hector looks as one of the most prepared and trained fighters here. But in this event he will meet his cryptonite: Joe Ball, a brown belt BJJ with decent grappling skills. If will have enough strength to keep up with Hector in stand up until they come to the ground, Joe might have this one.

Prediction: I see Comacho as a slight underdog so I'd say Joe Ball by 3rd submission.

Moses Faner (2-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Zeca Ralho (0-1) (0-0 GFC).

Zeca will come to the fight with a cut, and I think that a big mistake by manager. I see this fight as a good standup brawl because both fighters lack jiujitsu and are utilising different standup arts: Moses is a decent boxer while Zeca prefers to handle his opponents using muay thai. I would see this as an advantage for Zeca, he may try utilising the clinch.

Prediction: Moses Faner by Unanimous decision.

Jon Swan (0-0) (0-0 GFC) vs. Alexander "The Siberian Wolf" Volkov (4-1) (0-0 GFC).

The fighters have evenly matched muay thai and wrestling skills, but Swan has a dangerous advantage in boxing. The only advantage Volkov has is his wrestling, the ability to take the fight to the mat. We saw in Volkov's previous fights that he has just ferocious submissions and three of his wins came by submission.

Prediction: Alexander Volkov by 3rd submission.
