The French Submission: A Fighter"s Profiile

Fighter profile of Louis Terry by

Standing at almost 5'9", Louis Terry chose Brazilian Jujutsu as his immediate fighting style in order to compete against much taller opponents. Often described as kind hearted as a child by most of his peers, he has never grown to like hand to hand brawling. At the age of 11, Louis was brought by his father, an avid fan of BJJ, to a BJJ demonstration in their local gym. Young Louis has shown interest since then to learn the art of "submission" and was admitted by his father shortly after expressing his enthusiasm.

Louis continued to practice and train in Brazilian Jujutsu while balancing his studies. He was an active member of the BJJ club in high school and has also been a proficient competitor in school sponsored BJJ events and tournaments.

In a rather tragic turn of events, Louis' father died due to a stroke. Louis, 18 years of age at that time, decided to stop attending training and sought a job in order to support his college education and his family.

Now at 25, Louis Terry has finished his Mechanical Engineering degree and is now eager to pursue an active MMA career. In a recent interview, he was asked about how he thinks he would fare against varied competitors and said, ". . .I've always wanted to compete, and even though I'm only proficient in BJJ, I'll get through because I never stopped training all these years, Demian Maia did it, so can I".

With a present record of 2-0-0, all by submissions, the little French guy proves to be an exciting fighter to watch out for.
