Steel Penn ICON Fight Night 5

Event Preview: SP FN 5:
Steel Penn FN - ICON
2013-10-12, Amsterdam, The Beer Garden
Author:King Scooby

Steel Penn ICON, destined to soon be number one org in Amsterdam has put yet again another great card of fights set to take place in The Beer Garden On October 12th.

It was a great turnout at SP FN 4 where up and coming Robeldo Puch scored a TKO by way of strikes improving his record to (6-0) over pat doyle who unfortunately started his Tycoon debut in a loss. Our Co-Main title bout between Timofey Boyko and Ben Russel ended “KO of the night fashion” in the last minute of the third round in similar fashion as Russel was rocked and bloodied leaving the match with a plastic surgeon providing him a list of discounts he offers along with Kosti Lom who was cut by Liljedahl so badly the referee Derb Hean had to stop the fight in the FIRST round! Alvaro Ibanez Santos registered the submission of the night and we all need to beg Thunder to give us another dose of Winston McCall and Hannibal Butrovic which happened to be the fight of the night ending in a McCall majority decision victory.

The Crusher Kawajiri will head our co-main event against Bartek Pietrzak in a much anticipated brawl in which 25 wins and only 6 losses total describe these two fighters. The Dynamic Fighting Championship 145 and 155lb title holder will try to right his ship after losing a 5 round split decision bout with alberto lopez in a close fight that couldve went either way. He rode a 9 fight win streak before losing this fight and has shown he can both knock out his opponents or submit them. Its tough to gameplan for an all around fighter of this caliber but Kawajiri doesnt care about that. He is an excellent wrestler who has maximized his craft by finding a way to sneak in submission finishes wherever he can and has developed a nice striking/boxing skill to keep him adequate in stand up situations. This fight will come down to distance, if Pietrzak can keep the distance and land his hard strikes and kicks, he may dominate this fight. Likewise, if Kawajiri can close the distance or get the fight to the ground, he likely can finish this fight.

Wolwerine Tyler, our 145lb title holder makes for an interesting fight with Mr Miyagi in which Tyler has never won a fight by KO and Miyagi is certainly not esteemed by his striking. Tyler is a red belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is probably the best submission finish fighter ICON will see in a very long time. All but 3 of his fights were won by submission. Tyler holds a major advantage on the ground and Mr Miyagi definitely doesnt want to let the fight get there. Miyagi will seemingly have to look for opportunities to land high kicks and score points defending takedowns and landing strikes although he isnt much of a boxer. He has shown exceptional defense his entire career as he has 20 of his 26 victories by decision, and he will look to display his skills here in hopes of notching another one. We cant wait to see what type of action this main event has in store for us.

I cant wait for this excellent card of fights, check back for the results and enjoy!
