Inside The UPF: Henkka Reem

Fighter profile of Henkka Reem by Dale Saw

Hello and welcome to Inside The UPF's newest edition. As per always, I am Fred Meyer. Today on the show we sit down with the man that did what many others before him had failed to do, dethrone the champ Tony Brown. Ladies and gentlemen  put your hands together for the one, the only, your newest UPF champion. Mr, Henkka Reem.

Freddy: Welcome to the show, champ? How does that sound? Henkka Reem the UPF-Hilo middleweight champion of the world!

Reem: Thanks Freddy, that sounds pretty amazing. Although, I knew I had this coming when I spotted Brown and tought I'm going to get that title.'

Freddy: Well you were correct when thinking that. Haha. So, did you expect Brown to make it all the way to the final round? Did you think it was going to take 34 submission attempts to finish him? Good job in that fight by the way.

Reem: It was pretty odd fight, since he tried to keep it standing and while on the ground he tried to throw some puches and control me, but of course that didn't work.[laughs] Wow 34 Attempts, that's a lot, but I got the job done. I knew Tony was tough and I expected to finish the fight standing. Pretty good survival technique from Tony, since my sub skills are elite and I'm an Abu Dhabi Champ you know.

Freddy: Abu Dhabi champ, huh? I do not know this. Ya learn something new everyday. So, what do you think is next for you? Who would you give the next title shot to? Do you think Kroft is deserving of a shot at your belt?

Reem: Next I start training again and fight Kroft. After that, I have no clue. Kroft is a very game opponent, but it's kinda weird that I just had a fight against him that I won and now I have to face him again. But yes, he's deserving and he's one fighter excluding Tony that is a real threat to me at the moment. He has excellent head kicks, but his standup is lacking hand skills and he doesn't really have ground skills. He has proven himself that he can KO anybody. I just have to be careful and start training to defend those kicks [laughs.]

Freddy: Yeah, I agree that it is weird. But, he does keep winning except against you. Haha. Now did you manage to catch last weeks show?

Reem: Yeah, I watched and that's true. He has a lot of victories under his belt.

Freddy: So, what did you think of Mr. Lopez's little poem at the end of the show? What was is? "Roses are red... violets are blue... Watch out Henkka Reem I'm coming for you!" Haha. Did you catch Joses last fight over in UPF-LA against "Pitbull" Calvancante?

Reem: I'm not impressed, he can sing, dance, or make poems and beat really poor standup-fighters like Calvancante as much as he wants. I have my hurricane-shelter build, so I'm good. If Lopez  has the heart to go with that big mouth, he should accept a bet. I bet ten thousand  that he loses Tony Brown, are you in Lopez?

Freddy: Did you hear that Jose? Henkka has a bet for you. Anyway, we are getting low on time. Why not tell us really quickly a little about the man behind the champ?

Reem: I rather let my skills do the talking.

Freddy: Well I am sorry to say that we are completely out of time. Mr. Reem is has been a pleasure speaking with you today. Ladies and gentlemen give it up for your reigning UPF-Hilo middleweight champion of the world Henkka "Leka" Reem. Ladies and gentlemen make sure you tune in next week, we will have "Mambo" Jimbo Mlmbo on the show. Set your TiVo so you can re-watch it later. Haha. Until next time, I'm Fred Meyer signing out.
