Ultimate Pit Fighting (300K+ ID)
2013-05-11, Hilo, Hula's
Author:Dale Saw

Hello everyone, Fred Meyer here to bring you a preview of UPF-Hilo's next upcoming event UPF-H 33: Brown Vs Reem. The event takes place on May 11th 2013 at Hula's in Hawaii. We happen to have three title belts up for grabs.   Yes, that's three belts on the line! Watch as UPF-Hilo takes its first step into Hilo's biggest arena.

Undercard Bouts:

"The Russian Experience" Maxim Markov (7-4-0) Vs Igor "The" Crazy (8-7-2)

Both fighters are coming off of losses against high level opponents and looking to get back into the win column. A win here could catapult either fighter to the top of their division. Can Igor overcome the submission specialist Maxim Markov? Or, will Maxim do what he does best and work his ground game?

Prediction: I see Maxim winning via submission in the first half of the first round.

Ichabod Crane (7-0-0) Vs David Yon (6-4-0)

Both the fighters in this one are in the running for the top five in the heavyweight division. Crane is undefeated with two wins inside the UPF octagon against high level competition. Yon is a former UPF-Hilo heavyweight back in the days when is was still just the UPF. He is looking to get his belt back. Can the former champ beat the undefeated younger fighter? Or will Crane continue his streak and work towards the belt himself?

Prediction: I think that the undefeated Crane will underestimate the former champ and see his first loss. Yon via KO in second round.

Roz Dee (5-7-0) Vs Lincoln "The Convict" Burrows (9-4-0)

Roz faces the knockout artist with more KO's then any other fighter in UPF history. Burrows will be no doubt looking to throw bombs from the get go. Can Dee withstand the awesome power in Burrows' hands? Or will he try to take it to the ground where Burrows show weakness?

Prediction: Well, this one could end up either way, but I think the power Burrows has will ultimately lead to his victory via KO in round one.

Bobby "Smashface" Haley (8-3-0) Vs "Firefly" Kibbe Sly (6-4-0)

Both of these fighters are ground specialists with all of their wins via submission. Neither fighter has been subbed yet. This one will be fireworks.

Prediction: This one really could go either way. All I know is that someone might get tapped.

Main Card:

Hank Patterson (19-11-0) Vs Reijo "Rymypoika" Rymy (19-12-2)

In this battle of MMA veterans we see a classic boxer vs wrestler match up. Once again we see fighters vying for a top position in their division. A win here for Patterson and he could see himself fighting for the belt. Can Patterson the needed win for a title shot? Or will Rymy prove he is not one to be stepped over?

Prediction: Rymy wins via decision.

"Hellraiser" Helge Fossmo (14-6-0) Vs "Ice" Sub Zero (17-10-0)

Another wrestler vs boxer match up. Former champion Fossmo is looking to get his rematch with Vegh with a win over top fighter Zero. Can he get the boxer to the ground? Or will Zero's boxing prevail?

Prediction: Helge is hungry to get his belt back.  I think Zero will pay the price. Fossmo via TKO in round two.

"IRONMAN" Jeremy Kroft (7-4-0) Vs Stefan Pruvhe (5-6-0)

Kroft is the UPF-Hilo's comeback kid. He has several victories where he was losing the fight but was saved by one of his devastating head kicks. Pruvhe is a former challenger for the belt. Both fighters need a win here to stay in the rankings.

Prediction: Kroft via killer head kick

Heavyweight Title Bout

(C) "TaPoUt" Arnold Vegh (15-5-0) Vs Rutgers Crax (10-3-0)

Our champ is facing an opponent that has tasted victory over him. Crax is also a former champion in the UPF-Hilo as well. Can Crax defeat Vegh for a second time, this time for the belt? Or, will our champ prove why he is the champion of the world?

Prediction: I feel that we are going to have a change in champs here. Crax via KO in round one.

Co-Main Event - Welterweight Title Bout

(C) Declan McCready (21-5-0) Vs Sebastien Deveraux (15-4-0)

Deveraux is a very good Muay Thai fighter who will be facing another dangerous MuayThai fighter in our champ McCready. Who will prove to have the better Muay Thai? Or will the fighters decide Muay Thai is not a good idea and try something else?

Prediction: Another toss up. McCready via split decision.

Main Event - Middleweight Title Bout

(C) "Toy" Tony Brown (11-1-0) Vs Henkka "Leka" Reem (6-0-0)

The undefeated Reem has worked his way to the top and will really test his skills against our reigning, defending champion Tony Brown. Brown has gone nine and zero inside the UPF octagon. Can Brown keep his belt and get his tenth UPF victory in a row? Or will Reem manage to dislodge the seemingly unstoppable force of nature Tony Brown?

Prediction: I see Brown winning this fight in whichever way he prefers. Brown via Submission round two.

We also have UPF-Hilo fighter "Hurricane" Jose Lopez fighting on UPF-LA 1: Lopez Vs Calvancante over in Los Angeles. He will be fighting Mauricio "Pitbull" Calvancante who has decided to move over to and become a UPF-LA fighter. My prediction is that Lopez wins via KO in round two.

We are hoping for a full arena and to have a great night of fights. That pretty much sums up this card. Until next time, I'm Fred Meyer signing off.
