The Marciano's
The Godfather
Episode 1
Chris Karter: "You know what you're getting into?"

Reporter Timothy Parker: "I have a pretty good idea."

Chris Karter: "Where you from?"

Reporter: "This is my first assignment in LA, I transferred from Georgia."

Chris Karter: "How long you been doin' this?"

Reporter: "Few years. Use to interview boxers and nascar drivers but nobody cares about them anymore so I requested a transfer - sent me out here."

Chris Karter: "Do you know who you're interviewing?"

Reporter: "Fella named Donatello Marciano... did a little research on him. Apparently this guy is connected -"

Chris Karter: "Don't say that."

Reporter: "Huh?"

Chris Karter: "You can't say that when you're in there. Just because his nickname is "The Godfather" doesn't mean he's a gangster or related to the Mafia."

Reporter: "Well if you check right here on google you can see that ---" I stopped him from looking through his iPhone and shook my head at him. Small talk was pointless but might be the only way to get him to shut up...

Chris Karter: "As his manager I'm warning you that you're not allowed to mention anything you may or may not have read on google relating to any organized crime syndicate, or the interview will most likely come to an early end. You're a professional reporter, not a paparazzi... Where did you say you were from again?"

I initiated small talk to change the subject. It was gonna be a semi-long ride from the L.A. international airport. After years of declining any contact with the media outside of the occasional post-fight interviews and press conferences, I have finally been bribed enough money to convince Don into sitting down with a reporter for some Q&A. I had to give the Family a cut but I had a good amount of change left over. "The Godfather" Don Marciano refused to do the interview anywhere else other than one of his estates in local Los Angeles and unfortunately for me and the reporter, had no choice but to accept the invitation. I have a bad feeling about the whole thing since reporters tend to ask too many questions and the Marciano's aren't exactly the type that like answering questions. Before I knew it we were pulling up to the gate and hopping out the car. I tried to run the most important basics with the reporter as we approached the front door.
