BFT - 166 - Lurendrejer vs MacMillian Review

Heavyweight - Frank Mir submitted "Grizzly" Jacques Trudeau with a triangle choke at 3:58 into round 1.

Mir quickly brought the fight to the ground and Trudeau did not have a huge problem with it initially. Trudeau tried 4 submission attempts and then scrambled his way on top. The two tusseled for a while seeing who could control the better position. Trudeau thought it was him sitting on top controlling the position. He couldn't have been more wrong. Mir slapped on a triangle choke that was on like glue. He had him tapping incredibly fast. What a submission!

Light Heavyweight - Titus "Tko" Kahoohalphala KO'd Jake The Snake with strikes at 3:24 in round 2.

The fight started out well on the feet for "Tko". He was landing some good shoots, and avoiding some too. But when Kahooalphala decided he had enough of standing, he brought things to the ground. Jake was not content with just sitting there and letting Titus run with his game plan. He was looking for openings to sweep or slap on a submission, but "Tko" was too dominating. He sat up and was throwing down. Throwing his fists down. On Jake's face. They both make it out of that round and as the next one starts, they find their way back to the ground. "Tko" threw his ground and pound to bring the hurt. The Snake had no answer for the punches and the ref had to jump in. A great showing of ground work by Titus!

Lightweight - "Stoneface" Samuel Vimes KO'd Carlos Silva with a punch at 4:10 in round 3.

Vimes was hell bent on making sure Silva was going to get some pain on the feet. He was blocking the takedowns and landing punches. Things were all right for vimes. He kept on him like Wiley E. Coyote on the Roadrunner... except he was doing a great job on his plan. Silva got a takedown at the end of the round, but he didn't hav ethe time to do anything on the ground. Round 1 Vimes. The second round saw Silva took things down to the ground right away and worked on submissions right away. The ref thought Vimes' lack of action was enough to bring the fight back to the ground and try to get some more work don there. Was he able to lay a lot of hurt down on Vimes? Not really. Was he able to take the round? I think so. The final round started and Vimes wanted to keep things standing. He was picking his shots and landing at will. Vimes swated away those takedowns like flies. He lands a solid jab that send Silva rocking, and just like that it was light's out. Vimes with a great KO victory.

Co-Main - Lightweight - "Pehlwan Monster" Mohammed Ul Haq Knocked out Abu "Bonecrusher" Davee with strikes at 4:57 in round 1.

Davee looked great right off the bat, opening a cut on ul Haq's face with a great jab. The two traded punches with kicks for a little while until Ul Haq took things to the ground in a hurry. From there, Mohammad worked on some ground and pound while successfully taking on a secret mission; getting into full mount. From there, only a few more punches were needed to put Davee away. A great bout!

Main Event - Light Heavyweight Title! - Shananigan Luredrejer Majority Decisioned "Lone Star" Dallas MacMillian to retain his title.

The first round saw Lurendrejer bring things into a clinch and was giving the hurt until they brought the fight to the ground. They rolled around for a while, but the fight found it's way back to the feet. Then it went clinch, and takedown again. Lurendrejer took the round. The second round saw MacMillan take the clinch and do a little damage before Lurendrejer took things to the ground again. He got to work this time, holding Dallas down. The third round had MacMillan fight back. He brought things into the clinch and put on a show for the crowd. An onslaught of elbows and knees opened up a cut on Shananigan. Let me tell you what, Lurendrejer mad it out of the round, but I was sure hurting from that one. He took a lot away from the third going into the fourth. Lurendrejer took the fight to the ground and avoided the clinch at all costs. He was able to hold hiim down, throw a little ground and pound, and try a submission attempt. The fight was on the feet for a bit until Lurendrejer took things back to the ground until the buzzer went off. The last round had MacMillian try to clinch things up again, but Lurendrejer took things back to the ground and worked on. He cruised his way to the end of the fight. He was able to walk away with the decision, but I wouldn't mind seeing a more conclusive victory in a few months.
