GAMMA fighters of the year contenders

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

GAMMA is about to have its 4th annual fighter of the year awards. In the past here were the winners and runners up:

Fighter of the Year 2009

1st Mikhail Yudovich
2nd Nikon Holm
3rd Lennon Lewis

Fighter of the Year 2010

1st Raz Matazz
2nd Alexander Khalifman
3rd Mikhail Yudovich

Fighter of the Year 2011

1st Jeremy Tonal
2nd Trent Pope
3rd Karl Denke

When selecting the top fighters we take into consideration:

- Total fights
- Total wins
- How many of those were in GAMMA (including super fights as a GAMMA fighter)
- Level of competition
- Highest p4p ranking during the year
- Titles

Based upon that, here are our contenders for the year:

170lbs:

Alan Bundy (21314)

14 fights, 8 wins, 6 losses. Kept the title most of the year and 4 of his loses were against top fighters in super fights. He has always had a problem in his super fights. He lost his title recently to Forrest Gump which probably has lost him the top spot for 170lbs fighter of the year.

Forrest Gump (67600)

Only joined us mid year, 14 fights in total, 11 wins. His 3 losses he avenged during the year and he topped it all off with a title win over Bundy. He will be fighting his next one in TTFC later on.

185lbs

Tank The Razors Edge (24296)

13 fights, 1 draw, 8 wins. Won the title during the year but lost it to Raz Matazz after initially beating him. He has a fight on the 22nd against Keith. Lost his last 2 which put him down in this list.

Raz Matazz (25622)

15 fights 10 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses, (he has a fight on the 29th). His losses came from Siouxsie Banshees, Karl Denke, Tank The Razors Edge, all people he beat during the year. He also got a revenge over Lucas Silva who he had previously lost to. He also regained the 185lbs title again. Hit top 100 p4p again for the 2nd time in his career and also became the first fighter in GAMMA's history to win a title 3 times.

205lbs

Degen Gambler (68491)

14 fights, 11 wins, 3 losses. All his 5 fights in GAMMA were wins. Won the title and has hit top 100 p4p since then. The only thing you can take away from his run is that a large portion of that was outside GAMMA. The fights were all top level though.

Jeremy Tonal (31632)

Retired mid summer, but still managed to pull off 11 fights. He was #1 p4p up until mid May. 8 wins over top 100 p4p fighters during that period. 3 losses, but they were against top competition. If he did not retire half way through the year, he probably would of easily won this.

265lbs

Jura Neekis (142686)

12 wins in the year and is still undefeated. Just 2 of those were in GAMMA though, most were against lower competition. His Fight against Fidel Duberry at the end of the year could change things in his contention.

Fidel Duberry (125586)

Just 9 fights (10th against Jura Neekis on the 22nd), 7 wins, 2 losses. He did manage the big win over Anton Chigurh though for the title. His fight against Jura is a major talking point though.

Anton Chigurh (58657)

15 fights (16 on the 29th) 11 wins, hit top spot p4p during the year but lost his title to Fidel Duberry. Avenged one of the losses to Emeka Shakur. A win over Kyle Carlton will probably make him #1 at 265lbs this year and possibly put him into contention for the fighter of the year.
