 BFT - 156 Review

Lightweight - Janek "Glover" Kochanowski knocked out Pedo Bear with strikes at 2:12 in round 1.

Talk about a stand up bout. Janek was pushing hard and landing hard. He was throwing combos like it was his job... oh wait, it is. He was looking for the uppercut, and he got one in a combo that cut him up. He saw the success of the uppercut and kept working for it, using that to put Beaer down and finish him.

Co-Main - Lightweight - Manny "Steel" Skelton Unanimous Decisioned Fudo "The Slim" Hokoyashi.

The name of the game was ground and grind. This fight was dictated by Manny from opening bell to closing bell. Every round looked almost interchangable with each other. Manny opened with the takdowns, and ultimately controlled the fight from there. He worked on a little ground and pound along the way, but it did seem like he was looking to walk out with a decision. That's not to say that Fudo wasn't a game opponent. He was looking for submissions and transitions, but he just wasn't able to get off. Some nice ground work from Skelton.

Main Event - Frank Mir submitted Joe Kimura with a kimura at 58 seonds into round 3.

Sky rocket's in flight, grappler's delight. Frank Mir was determined to have the fight on the ground. He opened with a takedown on the first with a takedown, that was followed 13 submission attempts. 13! That was compared to the 4 submission attempts from Kimura. The second round looked like the first. Quick takedown, lots of ground fun. 15 & 8 submission attempts from Mir and Kimura, respectively. The third and final round looked to be the same. A quick takedown, Kimura was looking for a submission, but Mir used that time to move into side control and work on a kimura. It was almost outstanding how he was able to lock that. Nice job.
