Luther Lamel Interview

Fighter profile of Luther Lamel by Caleb Smith

And We're Back!

This week on tycoon times highlight reel we have 25 year old Luther Lamel fighting out of Valhalla New York.

With a record of 1-0 and a early TKO finish in that debut fight, the fans who have bought tickets to see his next fight against David Jamieson on the 18th of May will surely be in for a treat.

We decided to catch up with "Double L" Luther to get an insight into the young talent and find out how his training camp is going,

So Luther have you been training any differently for this battle compared to the training camp that you completed for your debut?

Honestly its been very similar because there is no hiding the fact that i have an extensive amateur boxing background and that i am much more comfortable on my feet as opposed to on the ground, i've been training and improving my takedown defense and defensive grappling to avoi

Weekend Event Review

Editorial by King Scooby

Twelf Thermandin back at the BEEF Tree OF Life headquarters where we have had a ton of action over this past weekend and BEEF Session 13 produced a whopping 162 Event Rating!

Gary Gravity (5-2-1) and Stan Smith(6-0-1) blessed us with a fight of the night ending with a rare draw and a future rematch coming soon. Smith Came into the fight undefeated and showed off his impressive wrestling and ground game to get him throught that 6 fight win streak. Gravity knew Smith's gameplan was to have him on his back and taking strikes so he looked to dominate the fight standing up. He clearly dominated in the second round as Smith clearly dominated the first. In the final round both fighters really layed it all on the line presenting us with an amazing 5 minutes that I cannot judge to either fighter's advantage. No worries, Smith/Gravity II will be coming soon.

Charlie Chance (15-6) was able to pin Estie Langaise (4-2) to the cage and land more than a handful of punches leading to one major uppercut that sent Langaise down as the referee jumped in to stop the fight. Chance is now (3-2) since joining BEEF and we hop

The Future Of MMA

Fighter profile of Ricky Melendez by Andrew X

Ricky Melendez looks to change his life, as the former LA street gang member looks to turn his life around and do his fighting in a cage rather than the streets.

"I'm a guy who wants to fight, but I don't want to get involved with the wrong people," Melendez said. "This opprotunity to fight will allow me to do what I do best and make a good living for my family and to provide a bright future for them."

When asked about his upcoming debut fight, Melendez made it clear he's ready and focused for a war.

"This is my first fight, and I plan and making it a memorable debut for me. I've been working hard and will come out with a victory. My opponoent better watch out."

Q&A: Antonio Azeredo

Fighter profile of Antonio Azeredo by

Every year the Island offers fighters a chance to prove they have what it takes to make it in the rough world of mixed martial artists. One of those competitors is 25-year-old Antonio “Hands of Stone” Azeredo, a boxer from Rio de Janeiro. He’s scored two victories thus far on the Island and hopes to keep adding wins to his record. He agreed to sit down and talk with The Tycoon Times and talk about his career.

Q. It’s unusual to see a Brazilian boxer in MMA. Why not Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

A. I have a lot of respect

170lb.Creation Tournament Semi-Finals

Event Review: Tournament: Semi-Finals
Hostility (235K)
2014-05-21, Hilo, Wild Bob's Bar - Hilo
Attendance:750, Event Rating:72
Author:Calvin Hobbes

Hey everyone, Calvin here. We had a sold out event last night at Wild Bob’s Bar, who’s been a phenomenal arena host throughout this event. Our new partner Cyclone Nutrition was out there supporting us and we had some great fights and lots of triangle finishes. Let’s talk a little about what went down.

Preliminary Bout Number 1 - Lightweight Fight (155bs)

Fidel “The Mexican Dream” Caster DEFEATS Jake “Brandao” Kirby

Wow, I was way off on this. Caster showed that his manager being caught in a scandal had no impact on his game, he came out strong and traded strikes with Kirby the entire fight, and he got the better of them. He earned the judge’s decision tonight but said he may not fight again, it will be sad to see him go.

The Championship Press Association

Editorial by Dan Milner

 Championship Press Association Press Release

Daniel “TheMould” Milner recently began Championship Press Association (opened 2/5/14) as a way for new, fresh writers, managers and organisations to get more exposure and keep fans up-to-date on the goings on inside of the MMATycoon world as they happened. So far CPA has been a relative success with over 125 views to keep track of breaking stories covering a range of topic but the company is not content with stopping here and wants to progress on!

Championship Press Association invites writers or anybody with a story to get in touch with founder Daniel “TheMould” Milner about working alongside, getting articles published or the company covering stories as the association looks to grow. Any writers interested can post their own work on the CPA thread and major news will make it to the CPA breaking news or headline news post. There is no catch to CPA as it is simply and association of writers looking to post their stories and give the die-hard community of MMA Tycoon a daily updated version of the “Tycoon News” – who CPA wish to work closely with – at no cost.

What is to come?

Editorial by Bob Vendarra

Eventfull past weeks we had here in the City, a lot of Gym`s based out of Amsterdam went out of business. There was mismanagement, other opportunities for owners and some just couldn`t keep there books straight. After all the bad news for a lot of Fighters it came even worst, Under one of these Gyms was the well known Dark Horse Academy, owned by Gabe Monroe.

This Gym decided to close the doors to the public. It was one of the best in it`s way and a home to a lot of people. The decision to go private is a reasonable one and nobody can blame Mr. Monroe for it. To stay ahead of his competition he was forced to step up his game and there by makeing his Gym an Elite one. Amsterdam grieves and at the same looks at an uncertain future. All these events left a viod in the city. When you walk through the streets you can feel that everybody is just despretly waiting for another gym to emerge. Fighters and Managers talking, trying to keep the mood up.

Countdown to Destiny 50

Event Preview: Destiny 50: Pae vs. Casacci
Destiny FC
2014-05-24, Tokyo, Hard Knocks - Tokyo
Author:Wessel Error

Middleweight Championship

(Champ) Joe Pae vs. (2.) Max Casacci

Undeafeated DFC Middleweight champion Joe "Kick Ass" Pae is defending his belt for the 10th time in DFC. Pae has been the king of the middleweight division since day one and has amazing 10-0-2 record in Destiny FC. Pae is coming from TKO victory over Odin Tualasamony. The fight was rematch after controversial Majority Draw after these two. However just like vs. Nari Vari, Pae was able to get the W in rematch. It's amazing that Pae has been champion for so long and he has been able to defend his belt time after time and still Pae is just 22 years old so its not like he is getting old anytime soon. Pae also has most KO/TKO victories in DFC history with 8 KO/TKO's. At this point fans just want to see how long the title streak of Pae can go on.

Pae had few words to say before his 10th title defence:

"Max Casacci is a great fighter,We will do the show and he will finish the floor with blood.Next I will punish Landon Austin in a Superfight."

Max Casacci is in impressive 4 fight win streak
