<025 Virtuosity> - Preview and Predictions

After a stunning event last week, devoted Crucible Fights fans will be delighted to watch their very own young prospects as they showcase their promising skills at Hard Knocks - Amsterdam on July 6.

Under Card:

10. (170) Michal "Szakal" Mocny vs. Hao Wang

Wang has not been good lately, losing twice in his recent fights against Braddock Spong and Omar Cluzet, and he can only have a chance to win this fight by taking the debutant Mocny down to the mat.

Prediction: Mocny by Element of Surprise - 3rd

9. (155) Giacobbe "Rota" Ruotolo vs. Duey "The Experiment" Doubleg

Doubleg needs his big heart no doubt about it, he will fight Ruotolo, a man with lots of talent, good in bed, likes musicals and he can even do a moonwalk but seriously the huge disparity in standup skills will put Doubleg in a world of trouble.

Prediction: Ruotolo by TKO (Strikes) - 2nd

8. (265) Hush Hanson vs. Nils "The Thrills" Master

After pulling out a kimura in just 12 seconds last week, Hanson is back in the ring again but this time will be difficult because he will be up against Master, a better wrestler and standup fighter overall.

Prediction: Master by TKO (Srikes) - 2nd

7. (205) Arne "All Business" Ukkonen vs. Dark Spirit

Both fighters have seems to be very identical, both coming from a loss with a record of three wins and two defeats. Their only difference is their main weapon, Ukkonen uses punches while Spirit have good kicks and a slight differential in the quality of their chin -good/solid vs. granite.

Prediction: Spirit by Decision (Unanimous)

6. (265) "The Dark Prince" Jared Wild vs. Brian "Bad" Mason

A very interesting matchup between young bloods with awesome talent. Wild has proven his dexterity at standup games while Mason has proven his prowess when the fight is on the ground.

Prediction: Wild by KO (Punch) - 1st

5. (205) Frankie "The Real Deal" Ostrowski vs. Artor "Cannibal" Guhtur

Kicks or punches, which do I choose? I chose the latter because Ostrowski is much more motivated since he wants a revenge after his receiving his first loss from our main eventer tonight - Mac Dirty.

Prediction: Ostrowski by Decision (Unanimous)

Main Card:

4. (265) Cloud Strife (4-2) vs. Rauni Tuulikki Kukkonen (6-3)

Finally, we're on the main card for the evening. Kukkonen is slightly better in boxing and muay thai ability so Strife can only rely on one aspect he excels with - wrestling. Physical and mental toughness is a must for him because Kukkonen is gifted with KO power and is very creative with his submissions

Prediction: Kukkonen by TKO (Strikes) - 3rd

3. (265) "DC" Daniel Cormier (6-3) vs. Agilulfe Fragonard (5-1)

A little motivation from their managers would do to make the patrons of Hard Knocks - Amsterdam become agitated. But even then, this would still be an exciting match up because we will see warriors coming from a loss which means one will have his redemption but the other will continue to fall. Cormier took pride of his elbows, used for tearing skins apart. On the other hand, Fragonard is equipped with astounding ground and pound.

Prediction: Fragonard by KO (Strikes) - 2nd

2. (205) Harry "Dirty" Callahan (8-3) vs. Khalid Al Mahyani (6-2)

Although he lost his recent fight to Iso Kaato at <018 • Ready To Go>, Callahan still has something to offer. Wonderful boxing, superb wrestling and a superior brazilian jiu-jitsu isn't something for Mahyani to underestimate. Mahyani isn't someone to take on lightly either, combination of kicks and knees making the outcome of this bout even harder to predict.

Prediction: Callahan by TKO (Strikes) - 3rd.

1. (205) "Agent 47" Iso Kaato (4-0) vs. Mac Dirty (5-2)

This clash between the top prospects of Light Heavyweight Division is the main event of the evening. Whoever wins this match would be one step closer on becoming a champion. Dirty has bounced back after his two fight losing skid by beating Frankie Ostrowski via TKO at <021 • Display Of Power>. Meanwhile, "Agent 47" is on a roll and yet to experience a defeat. Kaato will have the upperhand in striking battle and their ground game is pretty much even. I'm excited to see how this one will unfold.

Prediction: Kaato by KO (Head Kick) - 1st

I just hope that the future changes will improve the judging, so much unbelievable and stupid decisions in the past like my "loss" to the current champion Harald Hillgrund. I am optimistic, but still, i am not afraid to say that there is something shady about the refs in Amsterdam. Brown letters maybe? And other thing that i have to say, is match making. I have to fight a guy who is 1-4 in his last five, ive beat him already and he is still in the title pictures? Mojo Dixon is good fighter, sure, but i think that he doesn't deserve match against top contender like me. He got this fight just because he is so popular.

BOOOOM! Shortest preview ever: 185 Tournament Round 1

10. Eric Edgar Cooke vs Kenny Clack

Two ground savages going at it here. The Night Caller Cooke is the better BJJ player but Mr.Clack has the better wrestling. Looks like Clack will be looking for the top position where he can sling down the fists of fury but if he gets careless Cooke will try to capitalize with a sweep or a submission.

9. Graham Elliott vs Sean Callaghan

This fight on paper looks looks like a lot of trouble for Mr.Callaghan. His strong point is the BJJ but he does not have the wrestling to back it up. His opponent in Elliott is a badass boxing machine who no doubt will try to keep the standing. If Callaghan can somehow drag this fight to the ground he has a chance but if not it's gonna be a short fight.

8. Pol Carmen vs Mickey Indahouse

This one looks really interesting. Both guys are amazing wrestlers but they both have stand up skills aswell. It's really hard to predict this one becouse one of then can be a clinch monster or then they will just hug it out, who knows? The post fight trash talk was amazing so seems like that both guys really means business which is always good. Im expecting fireworks here.

7. Jorah Mormont vs Vincent Sylar

Jorah Mormont once said: "There is a beast in every man and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand.". Well you know what? No swords in this game but Im sure as hell there will be a bit of stirring in the air when these two enter the CF:A cage. Seems like it will be another ground fight this one but who knows... Im hoping they will put on a show!

6. Nicasio Salonga vs Daniel Johnson

Salonga's skill set looks pretty straight forward: mix in a couple punches and a lot of takedowns. He for sure has the wrestling to back this up. Johnson seems to be the more talented striker and he also has a blue belt in BJJ over Salonga's white belt. If it hits the ground Salonga has to be careful not to be subbed.

5. Archie Archer vs Kalervo Kaunismieli

These two egg heads have a pretty similar skill sets. Similar wrestling to go with same level of striking. The only difference on paper ofcourse is that Kaunismieli likes to box while Archer is a pure muay thai artist. Kaunismieli has a bit of advantage becouse Archer has already fought once and if kaunismieli watches the tapes he might fight some clues about Archer's strenghts.

4. Travis Bickle vs Luc Sardarc

Yesss! Im a true fan of slugfests and I have no doubt this fight will be one. Both guys are wonderful boxers with little ground skills to go with it. I hope they will go toe to toe haaaard and make the crowd go wild!

3. Alex Pang vs Major Odour

These two dont want nothing to do with the striking game. They might aswell start the fight directly from the ground lol. Major "Body" Odour knows nothing but wrestling skills-wise. Im sure he knows the meathead Matt Hughes though... Anyway, Pang is a lesser wrestler but he has blue belt in BJJ so looks like he has a bit more variety in his game. Who knows what will happen here?

2. Perseen Suti vs Brother Firetribe

Outside of the 185 tournament we have two amazing fighters going at it. Actually, both have struggled a little bit lately but thay are fighting the top competition in the org so that's no shame - as long as you can turn the tide! ...which Suti already did in his last fight against Colt McLaren. Suti is the better wrestler but Firetribe is relentless with his striking and likes to utilize a Chuck Liddell like sprawl and brawl style. If he can keep this fight standing he has a good chance to start his winning run from here.

1. Mojo Nixon vs Anabolinen Steroidi Jr

In the main event of the night we have two solid CF:A vets bringin in the thunder to the CF:A cage. This is actually a rematch from earlier this year but both guys have upped their ever since. In the first meeting Steroidi Jr got the better of it and took the W home. Nixon has the edge in striking while Steroidi is rocking a more complete ground game. Im sure this one will be a barn burner so don't blink sucker!

<027 • Violent Tendencies> - Preview and Predictions

This Saturday (July 13) at The Beer Garden, Crucible Fights: Amsterdam headlines the face off between top contenders in the middleweight division, "Carbomber" Judah Krizbaduhl (#3) and Yrjoe "Ykä" Velmu (#4).

Under Card:

10. (185) Jordan ValKov vs. Sakari Sammio

Very interesting matchup to kick off the night, Valkov thrives in clinch with great elbow and knees while Sammio has sent his previous opponent crashing down to the mat with a monster head kick.

Prediction: Sammio by TKO (Kick & Punches) - 2nd

9. (265) Carol Bogart vs. Fred "Feeble" Flapjacks

Flajacks will no doubt try to keep this match on his feet because Bogart is someone who can really finish the fight using his vicious ground and pound.

Prediction: Bogart by TKO (Strikes) - 1st

8. (185) Harry "Patator" Tito vs. Alex "Nuclear" Warburton

Two warriors with different mission on display in this bout, Tito is looking for his 3rd consecutive victory using his solid punches while Warburton is looking to bounce back from his lost against Mario Suco at <021 • Display Of Power>.

Prediction: Tito by Decision (Unanimous)

7. (265) "The Irish Fuckface" Ian Logan vs. "Bloody" Bill Brodie

Both of their skills are virtually the same on the ground, the only difference is their standup game because Brodie is the better boxer while Logan utilizes muay thai to his advantage.

Prediction: Draw :)

6. (205) Jack "The Ripper" Johnson vs. Hamish "Hells" Bells

After the cancellation of his match at <023 • Shock N Awe>, Bells will be ready to unleash the hell to "The Ripper" who bounced back at <024 • Savages> by ripping Giant Tank's head using his great elbows.

Prediction: Bells by TKO (Cut) - 2nd

5. (185) Samuri Sikura vs. Mario Suco

They're pretty much even in terms of boxing but Sikura will surely benefit with his advantage on muay thai, wrestling and brazilian jiu jitsu.

Prediction: Sikura by TKO (Strikes) - 3rd

Main Card:

4.[170] Saul "The Frackin Cylon" Tigh (5-3) vs. Genghis "The Mongoloid" Khan (3-3)

A bonus match for the tipsy spectators because ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship will be on display. Their 8 wins combined is mainly because of their expertise at brazilian jiu jitsu. Different submissions from different angles — armbars and triangles from guard, kimura from side and rear naked choke. They can pull it off because they both hold a brown belt in bjj.

Prediction: Tigh by Submission (Armbar) - 1st

3. [155] Nikolai Peterson (6-5) vs. "The Juggernat" Sheldon Mozart (2-3)

Establishing themselves has been a problem for these young men since joining Crucible Fights: Amsterdam, equal amount of wins and losses since they set their foot in the organization. But for them, it's about putting on a good show and make the fans go wild. Peterson is a very intelligent fighter and Mozart has the power for put his opponent down to the canvas, a battle of brain against brawn.

Prediction: Peterson by Decision (Unanimous)

2. [155] Colt "Lone Gun" McLaren (6-4) vs. Akira Azuma (4-1)

Their styles are the same and pretty much straightforward, use his own wrestling capability to take the opponent to the mat then start dropping some bombs from top. McLaren has a slight advantage in muay thai and might as well employ his low kicks to cripple Azuma first. On the other hand, Azuma is a great boxer and a slight better in wrestling than McLaren

Prediction: Azuma by TKO (Punches) - 3rd

1. [185] Yrjoe "Ykä" Velmu (6-1) vs. "Carbomber" Judah Krizbaduhl (5-2)

As I said earlier, these two are belongs in the top tier in the middleweight division. Velma will be back on the ring as he makes his debut match in Crucible Fights: Amsterdam. He is a master in clinch, mixing it up with his hands and dangerous knees. Krizbaduhl is equally adept in muay thai but he's more inclined to use kicks as his advantage.

Prediction: Velmu by TKO (Knees) - 2nd

<029 • Murphy v Kaato> - Preview and Predictions

The light heavyweight title is on the line as Crucible Fights: Amsterdam presents <029 • Murphy v Kaato> headlining the clash between two undefeated fighters, Tyler "Dropkick" Murphy and "Agent 47" Iso Kaato at Hard Knocks - Amsterdam on July 20.

Under Card:

10. (205) Arne "All Business" Ukkonen vs. Mykhaylo Romanchenkosss

These guys never won a single match since joining CF: A, this will be a great opportunity for either of them to rise and regain some morale.

Prediction: Ukkonen by TKO (Strikes) - 2nd

9. (155) "Mikke" Mikko Hovimaki vs. Duey "The Experiment" Doubleg

Hovimaki will have this one in the bags if he can prevent Doubleg from working his submission magic on the ground.

Prediction: Hovimaki by KO (Punches) - 1st

8. (205) "The Heavy Gunn" Tommy Tomasino vs. Arkadiusz "Polish Devil" Drwals

Both has been fairly good at the ground and have garnered wins via decision and submission but Drwals has a slight upper hand since he has a higher rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Prediction: Drawls by Decision (Unanimous)

7. (170) Borthol "Panzerschreck" Grynworst vs. Hao Wang

A very quick and very strong Grynworst is looking for his fourth consecutive win as he encounters a determined warrior whose name is Wang.

Prediction: Grynworst by Decision (Unanimous)

6. (185) "Carbomber" Judah Krizbaduhl vs. Sakari Sammio

A very close fight because their primary skills are almost identical with Sammio having a very slight advantage in terms of boxing.

Prediction: Sammio by Decision (Unanimous)

5. (185) "Die Antwoord" Watkin Jones vs. Slurms Mckenzie

Who would not expect a knocked out in this fight? I mean in terms of causing the opponent wake up in the hospital the next morning, their two of the best in that business.

Prediction: Jones by KO (Punches) - 2nd

Main Card:

4. [265] Piotr Jazwinski (7-1) vs. "The Equine Butcher" Bronko Strunz (5-0)

The main card kicks off with a face off between former heavyweight champion Jazwinski and the undefeated Strunz. Both of them are very well rounded and can finish the fight via KO, decision and even submission. Very stimulating match to start the main card.

Prediction: Strunz by Decision (Unanimous)

3. [155] "Bad" Mojo Nixon (7-4-1) vs. Anabolinen Steroidi Jr (8-3-1)

This is not the first time these two warriors met, in fact their first fight was just last week at <028 • MW Tournament R1> where the results ended up in a draw. But last time was clearly different this time because of the new rules employed by CF: A and I'm sure that the the cage and the judging system will certainly make the difference.

Prediction: Steroidi Jr by Decision (Split)

2. [185] Kalervi "Outo" Outolempi (7-2) vs. Macadam Baird (6-1)

Both men are on a mission, a mission to seek vengeance after their loss on their previous bouts. Outelempi lost to Kenta Kobashi for the 2nd time of his carreer at <023 • Shock N Awe> while Baird suffered an embarassing knocked out against Daniyel Nebi that happened within the first 5 seconds of their match. Outolempi will need to capitalize in his boxing ability because that's the only aspect in which he will have the advantage.

Prediction: Baird by Decision (Unanimous)

1. [205-TITLE FIGHT] Tyler "Dropkick" Murphy (8-0) vs. "Agent 47" Iso Kaato (5-0)

And now, for the most anticipated match of the evening, the light heavyweight championship bout between Tyler "Dropkick" Murphy and "Agent 47" Iso Kaato. Murphy became the champion since joining CF: A and had defended his belt three times in his career. Likewise, Kaato is on a roll with three consecutive victories after beating Khalid Al Mahyani in his debut match at <011 • Saturday Scrap>. Murphy has a huge advantage in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while Kaato is looking to take advantage of his muay thai skills especially with his lethal high kicks.

Prediction: Murphy by TKO (Strikes) - 4th

<031 • Kobashi v Velmu> - Preview and Predictions

Some may think that $150 for a premium ticket might be a little bit pricey but when your watching Crucible Fights: Amsterdam, you'll absolutely get more than what you pay for. CF: A will proudly presents a show like no other starring "Orange Crush" Kenta Kobashi and Yrjoe "Ykä" Velmu on July 27 at Hard Knocks - Amsterdam.

Under Card:

10. (185) Robin "Smoke" Kluivert vs. Jaakko "Hobo" Savolainen

The rumors are true that their [censored] won't standup so in order to compensate for their bad hidden, the managers made them last longer in bed. Kluivert loves to cuddle his opponents while attempting submissions at the same time. On the other hand, Savolainen likes to play the role of being a sadist using his ground and pound.

Prediction: A winning situation for Savolainen because he's the sadist in a sadomasochistic relationship.

9. (265) "The Mad Monk" Grigori Rasputin vs. Hakon "Tyr" Hakonda

Anything can happen inside the octagon but anything can happen outside too. After this fight, the Norway - Russia relations will be broken for the first time since its establishment on October 30, 1905 because "Tyr" will be having a hard time containing the monk's madness in any aspect of the fight.

Prediction: Rasputin by KO (Head Kick) - Standup or TKO (Cut) - Clinch

8. (185) Yakubu Okoroji vs. Samuri Sikura

It's obvious that Okoroji possesses a granite chin, but because it's so huge it became an easy target for his debut opponent and thus losing the fight via TKO. Ezekel Rage figured out that it's better to conceal Okoroji's huge chin so he underwent a cosmetic surgery which made him look like a classical gangster with a smaller face. Experience is what Sikura, a black man born in Japan, brings to the table and is looking to have a shot at the title again

Prediction: Okoroji by TKO (Strikes) - 1st

7. (155) Carlos Evora vs. Tony Dawson

If there's a trophy for losing three fights in a row, then these two will be super close in getting it. Evora lost twice via decision mainly because of judge Radbod Blank. On the contrary, Dawson cannot blame anyone but himself because he got finished by a rear naked choke and knee to the head in his last two outings. Let's see who will be the more generous fighter by giving the loser's trophy on his opponent.

Prediction: Dawson by TKO (Strikes) - 2nd

6. (265) Cloud Strife vs. Agilulfe Fragonard

Well, same as the one posted above, both coming from two consecutive losses. I'm putting my money on Strife because you know, he just celebrated his birthday - 21 today! and I also believe in the concept of having a homecourt advantage. I think Fragonard already knew that he will lost this bout and an evidence of this is his clearly depleted morale - less than 50%.

Prediction: Strife by a birthday punch around 2 minutes of the very first round

5. (205) Damian "Thorn" Rogalewski vs. Dark Thoughts

This match will be just like the first match of the night and whoever utilizes his weapon in his arsenal wins this fight. Rogalewski has a habit of entangling his opponent's limbs and necks, trapping them in his thorns. On the other hand, Thoughts has already put four men into the abyss using his vicious ground and pound. Additionally, he is the reigning light heavyweight champion of The Immortals Playground.

Prediction: Thoughts by KO (Strikes) - 2nd

Main Card:

4. [170 - TITLE FIGHT] Alessandro Maximilian (7-1) vs. Saul "The Frackin Cylon" Tigh (6-3)

First fight of the main card and a title fight already? The fans gotta love this one. Maximillian is aiming for his fifth consecutie victory and third title defense overall while Tigh wants to get a hold of the welterweight belt by being creative with his submissions. I feel sorry for Tigh because even though I like Battlestar Galactica plus the fact that he is a frackin' cyclon, Maximilian is a superhuman after all.

Prediction: Maximillian by a head kick out of nowhere

3. [205] Harry "Dirty" Callahan (9-3) vs. Mac Dirty (5-3)

The fight of the two dirtiest mixed martial artists on the planet, Harry and Mac. Let's take a look at our dirty checklist. First, dirty records: check (they already suffered some defeats). Second, dirty clothes: Harry - not check; Mac - check (Mac's morales is around 70%). Finally, dirty style: Harry - dirty boxing and Mac - dirty ground and pound.

Prediction: Callahan by a dirtiest punch possible.

2. [155] Nicky Newdles (7-0) vs. "Perhananperhana" Perseen Suti (9-4)

I tried searching for the meaning of Perhananperhana and I found nothing, so I ended up translating his nickname using the very reliable google translate and it means "son of a son of a bitch", a third generation fighter from the family of bitches. Newdles to say, I'm using a word play just to incorporate Nicky's surname in this preview. In addition, Newdles is undefeated but he will face a very tough fighter in Suti, if he can look directly in his eyes.

Prediction: Suti by Decision (Unanimous)

1. [185 - TITLE FIGHT] "Orange Crush" Kenta Kobashi (6-0) vs. Yrjoe "Ykä" Velmu (7-1)

Hard Knox will definitely tremble when these warriors steps in the cage. Velmu will have a reach advantage but their skill set are virtually the same , "two granite chins, both never been finished, mirror builds from two goddamn handsome mofos of managers - BAAAM!", added Roger Kint. The greatest fight in the history of CF: A middleweights was agreed the moment Kobashi insulted Velmu in his tweet..err account. Velmu is the more popular man with a popularity of 176.516 but he is nothing compared to Kobashi's hype of 215.147 because he has proven that he can crush his opponents using a series of strikes or using a single lethal high kick.

Prediction: Kobashi by TKO (Strikes) - 4th

-Charles Lee Ray

Note: I tried a different approach in writing the previews since it's already my 5th write-up for CF: A
