SyFi 16 - Preview

February 24th - The Underground - Sydney

The moment is finally here folks as we have an event capped by the SFC’s first championship fight where someone will leave with a belt (assuming its not a draw). Since this is the first title fight I asked Mr. Lineman what his reasoning on picking these two fighters to be the first people to duke it out for a title and he responded with: “well, there was a certain qualifying rule, that was setup, 2 wins in syfi fights, or 1 org win and one syfi win, but i all threw that over, when king hippo Beat mc daniels, he looked impressive, and rick piano needed an opponent, so here we are, let them bang it out....Also of importance was how often we expect to have title fights now that more experienced fighters are cropping up in the SFC and he said that championship fights will take place on Saturday or Sunday cards primarily with at least one a week most likely. Especially once all eight belts have been claimed. Without further ado lets get into this historic card with our opener.

(0-2, 185 lbs) Mao Kai “The Tree”

VS

(0-2, 185 lbs) Ricardo “Gulag” Reis

Both of these fighters are looking for their first wins of their career as both have lost two straight. Kai has lost both of his matches against BJJ fighters of equivalent ability, neutralizing his jiu jitsu. Reis on the other hand had decent fights he just failed to accomplish anything with the control he had and lost by decision twice.

Prediction:
Reis likes to bring fights into the clinch where he then tries to take his opponent to the ground and control from there, while Kai likes to fight from the clinch, but is no slouch on the ground himself. Kai has the clear advantage in the clinch, but on the ground it will become a match up between BJJ and wrestling.

Winner: Mao Kai “The Tree”
Reis has done well with his strategy so far, but has failed to do anything despite it being successful and I expect that trend to continue as Kai’s superior BJJ and good chin should allow him to weather Reis’ onslaught and ultimately get the win.

(0-0, 170 lbs) Scotty Tuote

VS

(0-0, 170 lbs) Kase “BlueHorn” Weller

Tuote’s wrestling is about as good as it gets for a fighter making his debut, and he should be able to take down just about any opponent at will. Weller is the opposite as he is a pure boxer who wants anything, but to go to the ground with his opponent.

Prediction:
Wrestler versus Boxer you all know as much as I do going into this one so it all comes down to who prepared better for the fight.

Winner: Scotty Tuote
Tuote’s wrestling just looks too overwhelming for Weller to overcome it. Weller’s only chance is if he can manage to submit Tuote off of his back and that looks skeptical at best.

(0-1, 155 lbs) Ze “Coffin” Paulo
VS
(0-1, 155 lbs) Jakub “Worm” Larva

Both of the fighters in this one started their careers off with losses and will want to turn it around now that they are in the SFC. Paulo went purely into his passion for BJJ and has concentrated solely on bettering his ability in that particular skill set. Larva on the other hand spread his concentration between all the different skills with no particular emphasis on any particular one.

Prediction:
This fight will ultimately come down to whether or not this fight goes to the ground or not as one fighter has clear superiority there over the other.

Winner: Ze “Coffcin” Paulo
I expect this fight to get to the ground, because despite being worse than his opponent in all regards other than BJJ his opponent isn’t particulary skilled at those either leaving much room for error. Paulo should be able to get a submission victory on the ground.

(0-0, 155 lbs) Joey “Coco” Diaz
VS
(0-0, 155 lbs) Rory “The Raptor” Callaghan

Diaz is a very dangerous fighter on his feet with 0 skill in any other aspect of his game, while his opponent Callaghan split his skills between muay thai and wrestling giving him at least some skill on the ground. Neither one of these fighters have fought yet so it remains to be seen how exactly they will choose to use their skill sets.

Prediction:
Its hard to say who has the advantage standing, Diaz has the clear advantage from a distance, while within the clinch its hard to say whether Callaghan or Diaz has the advantage. As far as on the ground, it all depends on how Callaghan focused his skills.

Winner: Joey “Coco” Diaz

If Callaghan focused on preventing being brought to the ground with his wrestling, I expect Diaz’s boxing to be devastating from far away as well as in the clinch giving him a small advantage standing. However, this fight is very unclear as to who will actually win.

(1-1, 155 lbs) Jenk “Smash” Onay
VS
(1-1, 155 lbs) Kento Ban Gbus

Both of these next two fighters lost in their SFC debut one in the first round and the other through a tough decision against a very strong opponent. Onay’s loss came, because of carelessness in his ground game resulting in a submission loss. Gbus’ loss came against a very strong Muay Thai fighter who out fought Gbus via leg kicks looking impressive enough to get a spot in a title fight.

Prediction:

Both of these fighters looked decent in their fights and can’t be underestimated, with one losing to someone who could be a future champion and the other losing in a moment oc arelessness. I expect this fight to come down to whether or not Onay can take Gbus down or not.

Winner: Kento Ban Gbus
I believe Gbus’ wrestling training will come through in the clutch in this one allowing him to stay on his feet where he is vastly superior to his opponent.

(0-0-1, 170 lbs) Luc Brood
VS
(1-0-1, 170 lbs) Risto “Murhaaja” Halonen

This is an exciting fight with these two fighters coming back for a rematch of their bout in SyFi 6 where they left with a draw. It was a fight where one fighter managed to get the fight to the ground at will while the other controlled the fight after being taken down resulting in them ending the fight in a draw.

Prediction:
Good luck predicting this one as both fighters have proven they have what it takes to beat the other. Once again it will be Brood trying to stay on his feet while Halonen tries to take him down repeatedly like he did in their last fight.

Winner: Luc Brood
He is the superior boxer and he has proven he can stick with Halonen on the ground as he proved in their last match so I give the advantage to Brood assuming he trained his takedown defense up a bit.

(3-2, 170 lbs) Bruno Javier “Bjj” Jimenez
VS
(1-0, 170 lbs) Henri De La Cruzeiro

Jimenez is already slated to take part in his third fight as a part of the SFC, coming off a disappointing loss to Walker via decision he will hope to regain the standing he had after his first fight that he won. Cruzeiro has yet to fight in the SFC coming in with only a single victory which he attained in the QFC with a submission.

Prediction:
The Heavy handed boxer versus the granite chinned Jiu Jitsu artist will be a clashing between styles, however despite being a boxer Jimenez has Jiu Jitsu just as good as his opponents’ making it a difficult prospect for Cruzeiro to get the win

Winner: Bruno Javier “Bjj” Jimenez
Jimenez will look to live up to his nickname by beating a Jiu Jitsu artist at his own game, showing that his last loss was nothing, but a small speed bump in his career.

(6-1, 170 lbs) “Switchblade” Miroslav Walker
VS
(1-0, 170 lbs) Jackson “Filet” Finnegan

Walker is a fighter known for “bringing the cold blade” to his opponents and he showed it in his SFC debut managing to eke out a victory against the impressive Jimenez. Walker has one of the most impressive records in the SFC and he will look to cement his place in the 170 pound division with a victory over Finnegan a fighter new to the SFC.Relatively little is known about Finnegan, he comes in after a long fight he eventually won late in the third round via submission, but it was against a subpar opponent and does little to show what he has to bring to the table.

Prediction:
This fight will ultimately come down to whether Walker can bring Finnegan down as he is the inferior stand up fighter, but the better wrestler.

Winner: “Switchblade” Miroslav Walker

Walker won in his last fight against a BJJ artist superior to Finnegan and I doubt Finnegan will be able to keep from being taken down, thus making Walker the favorite.

(2-0, 265 lbs) Hans “Ko Reel” Nebel
VS
(3-0, 265 lbs) Bill Shorton

Both of these fighters had good showings in their first fights and it would not be shocking if the winner of this fight goes on to challenge whoever earns the belt in the main event of this card. Nebel caused a cut on his opponent and attacked that weakness throughout the fight eventually forcing the ref to end the fight due to safety reasons. Shorton landed everything he threw in his fight and used his knockout power to take his opponent out in the first round.

Prediction:
With both fighters having won their debut matches in the SFC, a win here could mean a title shot. Shorton looked much better in his debut, but Nebel’s ability to take advantage of the cut showed he has the fight sense to pull off any victory.

Winner: Bill Shorton
Shorton looked much better in his debut, has very scary knockout power, and is better at every single skill than his opponent. Its very hard to see Nebel pulling off this victory and he is the large underdog in this one.

Main Event - SFC 265 LB Championship Fight

(3-0, 265 lbs) Rick “Roidberg” Piano
VS
(2-0, 265 lbs) King Hippo

Rick “Roidberg” Piano is a very terrifying fighter to go up against. His clear disregard for rules against steroid use has resulted in someone with a serious God complex and anger issues to help enforce that belief on others. He has fought twice in the SFC with the end result of two very quick first round knockouts, with one opponent retiring afterward and the other being dropped by his manager. His record speaks for itself, there aren’t many fighters who can literally end their opponent’s careers, so you have to be very careful against this half man half hulk monster.

Going up against this monster of a man we have King Hippo who handed the 4-0 fighter Shazaam McDaniels his first loss. So far he has only fought twice, but his submission game is impressive enough that Boble Lineman saw fit to put him up against Piano in the SFC’s first title match.

Prediction:
Piano has the advantage in everything other than Jiu Jitsu making it clear that Hippo has to submit him or die trying. I expect Piano to keep this one on his feet and use his extreme knockout power to take Hippo out without ever touching the mat, meaning this fight will come down to whether or not Hippo can somehow get Piano to the mat where he can try and end the fight.

Winner: Rick “Roidberg” Piano
Hippo has to get this fight to the ground to have any chance in it, but his wrestling is inferior to his opponent’s and even if he gets it to the ground Piano’s Jiu Jitsu, while not nearly as impressive, is still decent enough that he should be able to avoid submissions. I expect Piano to be our first ever SFC Champion

Sydney Fights

SyFi 17 - Preview

February 25th - The Underground - Sydney

First a message for the young fighters of the SFC from Boble Lineman "It really is a time to shine now, our Organization is still young, and so with a couple of impressive wins, a newbie can enter the spotlight, and I feel like Sydney Fights will bring many glorious champions in the sport of MMA. So go out there, give your best, show your skills, and you can rise to the top." This event looks disappointing following Saturday’s fights which will crown our first SFC champion, but do not underestimate any of these fighters here as they could be eventual title contenders as well. I asked Boble if this card was just a filler to get us to the next Title card and his response was “On first glance SyFi 17 may not look like our best card, but I have the feeling we are gonna see a future champion tonight, perhaps not a champion to rise within the next month, but one, that will cut it over the next 2 or 3 months. Look at Max Luther and Glass Joe, they both can get their 2nd SyFi victory, and be potential challengers in their weight classes. Gennady Golovkin or Victor Alexandrov could shine, the possibilities, what can develop from each card are endless right now.I couldn’t agree more and I hope this event lives up to the hype Lineman places on it. Without further ado Lets get to our opening fight.

(1-1, 265+ lbs) Andrew “Browntown” Brown

VS

(0-0, 265+ lbs) Ben “Money” Morro

Brown lost in the second round of a QFC tournament showing he has something to bring the table, but still needs improvement to be a contender. His opponent Morro is yet to make an appearance in the octagon and being a middle of the pack fighter, Brown is the perfect person for Morro to test himself on.

Prediction:

Brown is a fighter who concentrates on his boxing, but has showed an inability to land punches well, and this fight will ultimately come down to whether or not Brown has improved his striking accuracy enough to be a solid boxer.

Winner: Ben “Money” Morro

Brown just hasn’t shown himself capable of landing shots regularly enough for me to give him the edge even against the unknown that is Morro, I expect a close fight that will end in a knockout relatively early in the fight.

(0-1, 265+ lbs) Voshon “The Pain Train” Daniels

VS

(1-2, 265+ lbs) Jigga “Black Magic” Boo

A key part of any MMA fighter’s career is how well he recovers after a lost and both of these fighters are looking to do just that. Both lost their SFC debuts and need to prove themselves or risk falling down to the bottom of the rankings. Daniels lost in a tough decision where he failed many many takedown attempts, and due to this could not utilize his greatest strength. Boo on the other hand fought in his strength, but was just outfought by a similar opponent.

Prediction:

If this fight stays standing Boo will have the clear advantage whereas if it goes to the ground Daniels will have a clear advantage.

Winner: Voshon “The Pain Train” Daniels

Boo has very poor wrestling and as such I expect Daniels to be able to take Boo down where he is the clear underdog. With this Daniels should be able to ground and pound his way to victory.

(0-1, 205 lbs) Haven “WezzyDog” West

VS

(3-1, 205 lbs) Aapo “Flower Power” Kukkanen

Two fighters making their debut and looking to add their name to the list of fighters clawing their way to the top. West had a very disappointing debut not being able to show anything, but his toughness was no joke as he lasted late into the third round being punished throughout the fight. Kukkanen doesn’t much care if his opponent is tough, because he doesn’t have the power to knock someone out anyways, preferring to win the fight via decision with his very technical boxing skill.

Prediction:

West is probably one of the toughest fighters in the SFC, but his opponent in this one has shown inability to knock anyone out and still achieving decision victories repeatedly making this fight a very interesting one to watch going in.

Winner: Aapo “Flower Power” Kukkanen

This should be a fight that Kukkanen controls from start to finish from his feet. He has shown he can stuff takedown attempts, and his opponents’ chin is irrelevant to Kukkanen’s overall strategy.

(0-0, 205 lbs) Kent Schoenfield

VS

(0-0, 205 lbs) Gordon “Irish Madman” Marlow

Schoenfield has been said to be a very impressive Jiu Jitsu artist with competent wrestling to try and help him utilize it. Marlow is kind of the opposite as he looks to use his boxing to fight standing. Its easy to speculate that since these two have the same manager he is pitting them against each other to test their own capabilities and motivate them to see each other as rivals.

Prediction:

Next to impossible to predict this one as they have the same manager, were created at the same time.

Winner: Kent Schoenfield

With the current advantages wrestling seems to hold, it is reasonable to guess that Schoenfield has a slight advantage over his opponent coming in.

(1-0, 265 lbs) Jack Kingson

VS
(0-1, 265 lbs) “Black” Nathaniel Strong

Kingson is a unique fighter in that he uses his skills in the bedroom on the mat via takedowns and his BJJ game. Making opponents uncomfortable giving himself the advantage on the ground seems to be the name of his game. Strong didn’t get to show much in his last fight landing only a single head kick before being taken down and submitted summarily.

Prediction:

If Strong hasn’t shored up his weakness against wrestlers he will once again lose having shown none of his skills, while Kingson will hope to show that his bedroom warfare skills will be useful once again.

Winner: Jack Kingson

Hoping Strong made miraculous improvements in his takedown defense is like buying a lottery ticket and I have to give Kingson the edge as he the exact type of opponent that defeated Strong before.

(0-1, 265 lbs) Michael “MJ” Johnson

VS

(1-0, 265 lbs) “The Bucharest Hangman” llle Constainou

Johnson started his career in the grappling world, and then switched over to mma, but lost his debut. Now coming back for his first fight since October, he will look to show he became better during his hiatus. Constainou won his debut in a very sloppy QFC decision victory in which he barely won. He will need to prove that he has more to show than what happened in his previous fight.

Prediction:

Both of these fighters want to meet on the ground and show who is the better ground fighter.

Winner: Michael “MJ” Johnson

Johnson looked pretty good in his grappling matches which is what this match will most likely end up being, and his brown belt should give him the clear edge against this opponent.

(2-2, 155 lbs) Gennady “Gennadyevich” Golovkin

VS

(2-2, 155 lbs) Logan “Kircaldy Killa” Reid

Golovkin is making an appearance in his second career SFC fight having won the first with an impressive first round knockout. His opponent Reid is making his SFC debut after leaving the UVC with a 1-2 record as part of the org. Golovkin will look to impress upon Reid that the SFC is just as difficult to make a career in as the UVC while Reid wants to show the things he learned in the UVC will make him a contender in his new org.

Prediction:

Golovkin would love nothing more than to keep this fighting with his exceptional boxing few opponents can fight him toe to toe. Reid on the other hand has a very diverse skill set and will most likely want to bring Golovkin down to abuse his weaker ground game.

Winner: Gennady “Gennadyevich” Golovkin

Golovkin is equal to his opponent in BJJ and is only slightly worse in wrestling, but much much better standing and as such he is the favorite for this fight.

(1-0, 135 lbs) Glass Joe

VS

(1-0, 135 lbs) Ondrej “Bald” Plesoun

Time for the little guys to fight with two people who made successful mma debuts, Joe winning at SyFi 8 and Plesoun winning in a QFC bout. Both fighters are stand up oriented fighters so we can expect this one to be an exciting showcase where each fighter tries to knockout the other.

Prediction:

Joe appears to be your stereotypical boxer with solid stand up abilities and decent wrestling geared around keeping his feet against other wrestlers. Plesoun on the other hand is a man who blends boxing and Muay Thai together, although in his debut he didn’t clinch at all we can expect him to try and clinch this opponent.

Winner: Ondrej “Bald” Plesoun

This is probably the hardest fight for me to predict in this event, because both fighters looked extremely strong on their feet, but I’ll give the edge to Plesoun, because Joe’s ability in the clinch is very questionable.

(1-0, 265 lbs) Viktor Alexandrov

VS

(1-1, 265 lbs) Cj “The Mauler” Morrison

Alexandrov had a rather poor showing that, while it earned him a victory, did nothing to show he is near contending for the top. Now as part of the SFC he gets the chance to make a different debut and start fresh with what he hopes will be a good showing. Morrison lost against a very impressive fighter in Bill Shorton and can not be dismissed due to this loss, because his opponent was so impressive. Against an opponent with a lackluster win we will see how much of Morrison’s loss was due to his opponent and how much was his own lack of skill.

Prediction:

Both fighters like to fight in the clinch, but Morrison can also box whereas Alexandrov has good Jiu Jitsu. If it goes to the ground somehow, Alexandrov will be the clear favorite but if fought at a distance Morrison is the stronger fighter.

Winner: Cj “The Mauler” Morrison

Morrison is the better clinch fighter, and Alexandrov has little skill to get Morrison to the ground making Morrison the clear favorite.

(1-0, 155 lbs) Israel Hill

VS

(2-0, 155 lbs) Max Luther

Hill gets to make his SFC debut in the main event showing just how well Lineman thinks about his talent as the quote in the intro shows. He is doing so against Luther who won his SFC debut via TKO in the first round. This clash could be one we see again at the top of the rankings.

Prediction:

Part of what makes this fight so interesting is the conflict of opposite styles. Hill is a wrestler/BJJ artist who thinks only about getting his opponent to the ground. Luther on the other hand is an amazing boxer who knows he can win against just about anyone as long as he keeps to his feet.

Winner: Max Luther

Luther’s wrestling is actually better than his opponent’s and Hill will have trouble getting him to the ground making this look to be a very uphill battle for Hill.

I'm bout to rock out with my cock out!

Congrats on the win, couldn't you at least let the fight drag out a little longer and make a show of it? You gotta give us something for overlooking the steroid use.

SyFi 18 [Preview]
March 2nd, 2018 - The Underground in Sydney, Australia
(by Malikoy Muza)

170 lbs : Nick 'Nicky Boy' Power [2 - 0] vs. Blaine 'The Viper' Callaghan [3 - 1]
Our Friday night main event pits the undefeated hometown favorite Nicky Power against the Irish grappler Blaine Callaghan. The Sydneysider has grabbed two victories in the local circuit, with a knockout and a decision a piece. Callaghan is coming over from Guerreiro Luta Liga, where he managed a 2 - 1 record, before arriving to Sydney Fights earlier this year in February. They'll both be looking to make an instant mark here in their SyFi debut.
- Keys to Victory for Power: Keep it on the feet, where his boxing prowess will outshine his opponent. If the fight hits the ground, get up as soon as possible to avoid being caught in a submission.
- Keys to Victory for Callaghan: Avoid the dirty fight of wrestling and clinch wars, since Power will be more likely to grind out a decision. On the canvas the Irishman should have a clear advantage, it's only a matter of manouvering his opponent there.
- Prediction: Blaine Callaghan by submission.

205 lbs : Lars 'The Modern Viking' Hard [4 - 4] vs. Mikhail Mikhailov [1 - 0]
Like the main event, these two are also making their Sydney Fights debut here tonight. The expectation is on an all-out stand up war, as Lars Hard has been making his name as a sprawl-'N-brawler thus far. Hard gathered a 3 - 1 record in local battles, before making a run in New Jersey MMA. After going without a win in three straight bouts, Hard changed managers and employment, and is looking to make a fresh start of it here in SyFi. Mikhail Mikhailov has only one pro fight in his record, a 21 second TKO in a London local fight.
- Keys to Victory for Hard: His great cardio is the biggest separator. Hard should try to utilize it to the best of his ability. Also, his clinch game is a complete question mark, but he'd likely work better boxing on the inside.
- Keys to Victory for Mikhailov: Go for an early finish, since the longer the clock runs, the smaller his chances. Use kicks to keep range and to gas 'The Modern Viking' out, by targeting the body.
- Prediction: Mikhail Mikhailov by knockout.

170 lbs : Julius 'The Alpha' Wolf [2 - 2] vs. Rolen 'Fatty Ice' Bowles [3 - 1]
Julius Wolf is coming in from the same promotion as Blaine Callaghan, where the two fought twice and both emerged victorious once. Like his nemesis, Wolf decided to join the ranks in Sydney and in his first test faces Rolen Bowles. Bowles took part in a Helsinki MMA tournament, losing in the finals after three rather impressive showings early on.
- Keys to Victory for Wolf: Take the fight to the ground and go for submissions. Avoid gassing out going for the takedowns.
- Keys to Victory for Bowles: Stand and bang all the way. Once the inevitable happens and Wolf gets the takedown, get up ASAP.
- Prediction: Julius Wolf by submission.

135 lbs : My Gal [2 - 3] vs. George 'Achilles' Papadopoulos [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Gal: Outbox Papadopoulos whether on the outside or the clinch. If at any time Papa pulls guard, pound his face out with heavy hammerfists.
- Keys to Victory for Papadopoulos: Ground My Gal, hang tight and don't let him escape. Either stall or try to catch a submission. Watch out for precarious reversals, GnP and submissions, as Gal will definitely have something in store for him.
- Prediction: My Gal by decision.

155 lbs : Bigg 'Daddy' Sugg [1 - 2] vs. Che Huu Mo [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Sugg: Whatever you do, don't repeat the same mistake of taking down a superior jiu jitsu artist.
- Keys to Victory for Mo: Any strategy should do, since Sugg seems to be outclassed in every area.
- Prediction: Che Huu Mo by decision.

205 lbs : Kevin Durant [0 - 1] vs. Emil 'Kommisar' Derrick [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Durant: Durant packs a heavy punch and should be looking to throw that as much as possible. During his debut in SyFi 7 against Jengo Makumba, he was doing well on the outside and leading in points before getting finished with a TKO.
- Keys to Victory for Derrick: Emil Derrick is an unknown at this point, having finished his first opponent in a stunning 18 seconds of the first round back in SyFi 3. Though he seems to be a capable slugger.
- Prediction: Pick 'em, though Durant's punching power should give him the very slightest of advantages.

265 lbs : Alexander 'Hammer' Nielsen [1 - 1] vs. Taga 'Cold Piece' Lampshade [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Nielsen: In his first two showings, Nielsen has been very persistent with his clinching attempts, but in actuality has done horribly with that specific strategy. So horribly in fact, he should forget all about it here and instead go swinging with wild shots.
- Keys to Victory for Lampshade: The good chin of Lampshade should allow him to eat shots while he rushes in with either a clinch or a takedown. If he can dodge Nielsen's knockout attempts, he should emerge victorious.
- Prediction: Taga Lampshade by decision.

265+ lbs : Gandolf 'Magician' Schmidt [1 - 0] vs. Frank 'The Big Tank' Drillon [4 - 2 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for Schmidt: Overwhelm 'The Big Tank' with punches and clean his clock.
- Keys to Victory for Drillon: The complete lack of morale of Drillon means he's taking on an uphill battle the size of Mount Everest!
- Prediction: Gandolf Schmidt either by a TKO or KO.

155 lbs : El Mas Loco [0 - 0] vs. Nazim Bardakci [3 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for Loco: Be aggressive with the stand up game and keep on the outside. Forget all grappling, instead work in kicks with punches and hope Bardakci gets caught with something when he is moving in. As far as the old striker's chance goes, Loco has a good one at that here, but on the ground it'll most likely be good night Irene for him!
- Keys to Victory for Bardakci: Employ the very same strategy he has been using in every single fight he has had: straight up search for a way to get a single or double leg and go from there.
- Prediction: Nazim Bardakci by decision, though Loco has a fairly solid opportunity to go for a finish.

265+ lbs : Bwana Mkubwa [0 - 1] vs. Paulo 'Kanu' Magalhaes [0 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for Mkubwa: Stuff takedowns and answer back throwing the lead hand.
- Keys to Victory for Magalhaes: To make Mkubwa tap out is Magalhaes' only chance of victory, though he is going to have a hard time getting his opponent down.
- Prediction: Bwana Mkubwa by TKO.

Sydney Fights

SyFi 19 - Preview

March 3rd 2018 - The Underground - Sydney

Time for our second card with a title fight everyone, and this is one of the first cards where we have many people who have already fought in the SFC, its great to see fighters I’ve already written for and I love seeing this organization progress the way it has. The only weight class that doesn’t seem to have a title shot lined up is the 205 lb division so coming into this event I asked Mr. Lineman what the status on getting a title fight lined up and his response was “We will definetly have a challenger at 205 after this weekend, whatever happens, Camara needs an opponent, perhaps we have to wait for the Wednesday fight on the 7th, but I personally hope to get a fight settled this weekend. Then me being a sap for power rankings I once again asked him what his plans were for starting up a power ranking system for each class. To which he said “There is a need for it, I see that, too, to keep track of challengers, perhaps once a title is settled and dashed out, we will give Power Rankings for that division, to get some light into the situation at the given weight class. So while there isn’t a time line at this point on when power rankings will be set up its easy to see that he is slowly making power rankings and just doesn’t want to post them until they are more flushed out. Now on to the show!

(1-1, 185 lbs) Travis Mitchell

VS

(3-2, 185 lbs) Choke “Butcher” Slam

Mitchell has been training for a few months in preparation for the moment he joins an organization and now that the moment is here he will look to blast onto the SFC scene and show that those years of training were enough to make him a serious contender. He has two QFC fights under his belt with mixed results, but they both happened last November and are hardly relevant to him as he is now.

Slam has had a decent run netting himself 3 victories in 5 fights and wants to get over his last loss with a victory against the promising SFC rookie. In his fights he has shown that on the ground he has the skills to finish his opponent and while he hasn’t lived up to his name as of yet he has won via triangle choke.

Prediction:

Mitchell is by far the better boxer and I expect him to try and keep it on his feet if possible due to the large lead he has in that part of his game. However, he is no slouch on the ground and I don’t expect him to shy away from the ground game if the fight ends up there.

Winner: Travis Mitchell

Mitchell has the advantage in nearly every aspect one can calculate, higher skills, better manager, and youth.

(2-1, 265 lbs) Henrik “Hamlet” Hightower

VS

(2-0, 265 lbs) Isiah St Saint

Hightower made his SFC debut at SyFi 10 and managed to weather his opponents’ ground game in order to pick up a very close decision win. He will need to show he can be proactive in this one as many argue that he didn’t earn the victory in his last.

Saint has won by decision twice in QFC bouts and we will get to see what he is really made of now that he is part of an organization. He looked just as lackadaisical as his opponent in his last one and has a tendency to randomly moonwalk during the match. If he can fix this tendency and do something constructive he may be able to pick up the win.

Prediction:

Each fighter has an edge in different parts of the game as Hightower is the better boxer and BJJ artist while his opponent is better at muay thai and wrestling. Whoever can control the match and make sure it happens in their area of strength will take home the win.

Winner: Henrik “Hamlet” Hightower

Both of this fighters looked like they were sleepwalking through their last fights despite the victories and that makes this a difficult one to predict, but I’ll give the nod to Hightower, because he doesn’t like moonwalking.

(1-0, 185 lbs) Sergei “The Serge” Bumanov

VS

(0-0, 185 lbs) Harvey “Big Uncle” Fury

Bumanov is making his first appearance since he defeated Ricardo Reis in SyFi 6 with a close decision. Coming up against someone making his debut Bumanov will want to show that he has improved since his last fight as there is nothing worse than having the new wave of fighters immediately beat you.

Fury although making his debut is a whopping 5 years older than his opponent in this one so despite having less fight experience has more training time under his belt. His manager’s fighters have had a tough run of late and he will attempt to turn it around with a win in this fight.

Prediction:

Both fighters have very similar skill sets and will be looking for the same meaning it all comes down to who manages there clinch fighting, and possibly ground fighting better.

Winner: Sergei “The Serge” Bumanov

I expect Bumanov to pick up the win once again with his slightly better skills coming in against a relatively unknown fighter.

(1-0, 170 lbs) Chad Edu

VS

(1-0, 170 lbs) Kourtney “Black Panther” Rawlings

Edu started off with a QFC debut victory via decision. There isn’t much to say about him, because it was against a subpar opponent and we won’t find out what he is made fun of until after this fight.

Rawlings also beat a less than impressive opponent in his debut and has just as much to prove, looking only slightly more important than Edu by winning without the use of the judge’s scorecards.

Prediction:

A fight between two untested combatants should prove to be interesting as we will find out which gets to start his climb and which gets pushed off the ladder. Edu is a wrestler with good BJJ skills as well, while Rawlings is more of an all rounder with a slight hole in his game in the BJJ area.

Winner: Chad Edu

The fact that Rawlings only has a white belt is concerning when going up against a strong wrestler who is almost guaranteed to get you to the ground. Edu is the obvious favorite in this one, but with another poor performance you can’t give him the victory now.

(1-1, 170 lbs) Khalamedov Nurmagadeeb

VS

(1-0, 170 lbs) Jack “Beast” Baker

Nurmagadeeb won his SFC debut more strongly than it appears as he controlled from start to finish it just took him longer than expected. However, his next fight was the opposite as his opponent crushed him early in the first round making people doubt which Nurmagadeeb was the real one.

Baker made a QFC debut and successfully walked away with a win, but as usual QFC matches seem to count for less than the matches fought within an organization and we will see if has the stuff to be a contender in the 170 division in this one.

Prediction:

Both of these fighter’s strongest traits are their wrestling which they shored up with BJJ, this match will probably come down to who is better on the ground.

Winner: Khalamedov Nurmagadeeb

Nurma looks to be the stronger fighter going into this one, but it is not so one sided that he doesn’t face the chance of losing. As long as he fights like he did in his debut he should be able to get a victory.

(2-1, 185 lbs) Tvica “Tvilllo” Iruscek

VS

(2-1, 185 lbs) Jon “Bones” Silva

Iruscek looked good in his SFC debut beating a good opponent via decision then followed it up with a loss to the man fighting for the title later on in this card, Asznee, in another decision.

Silva lost his debut against a fighter we just mentioned Asznee, but won his second fight with a TKO late in the first round. A good fight here would put him closer to the top of the rankings where he wants to be.

Prediction:

Once again we have two fighters who prefer to bring the fight to the ground and these two will definitely put on a show with their equal Jiu Jitsu skills.

Winner: Jon “Bones” Silva

Its hard to pick who will win in this one, but I”ll give the edge to Silva, because his manager has had the better track record with his fighters so far.

(3-0, 185 lbs) Wayne Benning

VS

(0-0, 185 lbs) Haas “Unforgiven” Saggi

Benning looks to be one of the more promising fighters in the 185 division and a win here could solidify his spot in the upper tier of the fighters in this class. With the title for his division going to someone in this card he will want to have a strong enough showing to make himself look appealing for the first title defense.

Saggi is brand new to the SFC and has yet to fight even in the QFC. With a manager like his its not extreme to expect big things from him and we will all get the honor of watching him try and burst onto the scene.

Prediction:

Benning is a wonderful boxer with the wrestling skills necessary to keep him on his feet. If Saggi can’t take Benning down then it will be an easy victory for Benning.

Winner: Wayne Banning

As of right now I have to say Banning is the favorite, but it is a bit concerning that he has yet to face a good wrestler and this will be his first test against someone with better wrestling.

(3-0, 205 lbs) Alaric “The Barbarian” Visigoth

VS

(2-2, 205 lbs) Harri “Persse” Huiha

Visigoth has already picked up two victories in the SFC and has been making a strong showing in each one of his fights in his efforts to rise to the top. If he could fix his attitude we could see a great fighter in him. He has the tri bronze award after only three fights showing that he has a varied fighting style and its hard to tell how he will win, but him winning to date has been a certainty.

Huiha comes in with an unimpressive record of 2-2 being 0-1 when in an organization. He will have his work cut out for him in this one and does not want to create an unfavorable impression on the owner and all of the SFC fans.

Prediction:

Alaric has a huge advantage standing and will probably try and outbox his opponent while Huiha will need to try and get Visigoth to the ground to have any chance at winning.

Winner: Alaric “The Barbarian” Visigoth

Visigoth has the advantage standing and should be able to hold his own on the ground as well making this match look like yet another win for the undefeated man.

(4-1, 170 lbs) Isbrand Gustav

VS

(1-1-1, 170 lbs) Jem “The Gypsy” Mace

Isbrand has looked strong in all of his fights except the one where he lost to the undefeated Pyotr Petrov. If he keeps his winning ways going a rematch with Gustav may be in his furture.

Mace has been back and forth in the SFC since he joined losing very quickly and winning very quickly. His victory against Kankunnen may seem not that impressive with his record, but Kankunnen’s losses came against strong fighters just as Mace’s did.

Prediction:

Gustav has a slight advantage standing while Mace has the wrestling advantage so I expect Gustav to try and keep it standing, but if taken down you can expect his purple belt to shine.

Winner: Isbrand Gustav

Mace is disadvantaged standing and might need to take Gustav down, but if he does so Gustav’s BJJ skills will prove more than Mace can handle.

Main Event - SFC 185 LB Championship Fight

(6-0, 185 lbs) Big “Baba” Asznee

VS

(2-2, 185 lbs) Gary Red

Asznee hasn’t been able to finish a fight on his terms since he joined the SFC, but he has won both decisions and controlled very well during those fights. There is no debate over whether he earned his spot in this title fight. He has struggled to gain hype, but none can argue that he is a high level fighter.

Red, when he joined the SFC did not come in highly regarded with his 0-2 record, but since joining he has won two straight fights and earned his place in this bout. It seems odd to have a 2-2 fighter fighting for the championship of an organization, but he has looked impressive since joining and he should be able to make this one interesting.

Prediction:

Red has a very large advantage standing while Asznee has just as large an advantage on the ground.

Winner: Big “Baba” Asznee

Red has very little skill in wrestling or Jiu Jitsu and I doubt he can avoid being brought to the ground by Asznee making Asznee the clear favorite.

Sydney Fights a look into the title Race (Updated: 02/27)

To me the most important and one of the break or make criterias in an Org is the way titles are handed out and defended.

At Sydney Fights, we want to keep that very transperent, but instead of doing a tournament to crown champions everyone entered the Tournament by signing at Sydney Fights. The rules for qualifying for a title fight in the beginning is pretty simple, be the first to win 2 fights in Sydney Fights. However, as more fighters from Outside came in, a win in another Org can be counted, and once there is a qualifier and it takes more than 2 weeks to fill the Title Fight, one win may be enough, as we can see in the 265 race.

In this News I want to show who is close to the title in all our Divisions, and who already is set for the title fight.

135:

The picture for the title cleared up, we have a title fight set :-)

Key Fights upcoming Weekend:

Kyoji Kubota (3-0) vs. Pinched Nerve (2-0)

Zurab Koshadze(1-0) vs. Brain Foog(2-1)

depending on the outcome of this two fights, we either get a new challenger, or the two winners will face off for the next challenger

Others to watch:

Lopes (3-0) would have qualified, but so far has not accepted a prolonged contract, it has to be seen, if he will return to the Sydney Fight Cage

Zac Hendal (2-0) is a proven SyFi winner, Dieselnoi Por Pramuk (2-0) comes from RISE KT, and will make his Org debut in 2 weeks, just signed this week was Daichi Kishimoto (3-1), he fought at CCF, and will surely be one to watch

145:

Title Fight:

The title fight will take place March 10th

Key Fights upcoming weekend:

Sun Ming (2-1-1) will face Dominguez (1-0-1)

Others to watch:

Dante(2-1) surely is the hottest fighter to watch after his win over Sousa last weekend,

Marcos Santana (2-0) has opted for a slow build, and aged 18yo will not go the title route yet.

At the Moment 145 sure looks thinnest of the weight classes, but recruitement and talent building is ongoing.

170:

Qualified for a Title Fight:

Walker(7-1) vs. Petrov (3-0) is now on offer, after Joe Lugg declined the title fight, Walkers response to the offer is still to be reached, but Petrov is ready to fight

Julius Wolf (2-2) v Rolen Bowles (3-1), also both with debuts at SyFi

Isbrand Gustav (4-1) v Jem Mace (1-1-1) both look to build a win streak

Others to watch:

Johnson (2-0) has all criterias to become a future Champion, but asked for a 4 week break after his recent win, nevertheless he looks to be the reserve if Walker drops out

Kevin Daughdrey(3-0) and Akira Harada (3-0) have yet to debut. in general this Division spots a lot of talent, Johnny Jonsen (4-1) may be one to look at.

Bruno Javier Jiminez (4-2) had an impressive win last week, but an injury to him has rumours of retirement around him, sure this is something to look at

185:

Others to watch:

Cornelius Albatross (4-1) was the biggest signing here, his debut at Syfi is set, over all the class has talent, but will need more fights to get a clearer picture

Mc Nasty (5-3) has made an impressive SFC debut, one more win, and he will look to get into the thick of the title race

Wazowski(2-0) got his 2nd win, and will face McNasty in his next fight.

265:

Title Fight:

March 10th

Rick Piano(4-0)(CHAMP) vs. Bill Shorton (4-0)

After Piano crushed King Hippo, he faces a big test in Shorton, next week will be full of it, as those two will be featured in various format, their clash will be the biggest fight in short SyFi History

Key Fights this weekend:

Shazaam McDaniels(4-1) v Mahir Ferhatbegovic(1-1) look for a 2nd SyFi win

Others to watch:

Riita (2-0) , Borrego(3-0) and CJ Morrison (3-1) look set to rise soon.

Henrik Hightower (2-1) is in the picture, Travis Dillon (3-0) is an 18yo hopeful, which we should look out for in the future. King Hippo(2-1) and Nebel (2-1) remain in the picture, but will have to rebound from losses

Title Fight:

Jeff Messer (2-0) vs. Arn Anderson (2-0)

March 4th

Key Fights this weekend:

well, the title fight is the one to watch this Weekend

Others to watch:

Hulk Hogan (4-2) won his last NJMMA fight, and under new management hopes for a better run at SFC, than he had at NJMMA(1-2), be sure to look out for him, except for him the division still has time to built his stars. Ole Anderson (2-0) is in line to be one of the top contenders, next to them other talent will have to develop.

Sydney Fights

SyFi 20

March 4th - The Underground - Sydney

We are coming to the night where the Championship of the division most people regard as the most hotly contested division in any organization. Just about any organization you join considers the 265+ division to be the one where their GOAT comes from. While I would argue against that for SFC at this point in time there is no arguing that it isn’t still an extremely important weight class for any organization looking to make a name for itself. We have two fighters who have risen to the top of this class beating two extremely well regarded fighters to earn this chance for themselves and we all get to witness this special event. Who will win is a question that critics have been asking repeatedly coming in and soon you will all get to find out. However, as this is a preview I will do my best to report each match as I see it, and without further ado I bring to you SyFi 20!

(1-0, 205 lbs) Jengo “The Chief” Makumba

VS

(0-1, 205 lbs) Miguel “Doped” Fialho

Makumbo made his first appearance in SyFi 7 where he defeated Durant in the second round. He showed strong ability to take a punch and managed to win from the clinch eventually despite not landing nearly as many strikes as his opponent.

Fialho has only fought once in the QFC and lost via submission, which targeted his weakest area in his jiu Jitsu. Against a fighter who also has poor Jiu Jitsu Fialho should be able to show more strength than he did in the past.

Prediction:

Makumba despite not being extremely skilled at Muay Thai, appears to prefer the clinch and going into a fight against another fighter who likes to use Muay Thai will be an interesting fight to watch has the dirty boxing commences one fighter will definitely go down.

Winner: Jengo “The Chief” Makumba

In his last fight Makumba fought a person even better at Muay Thai than Fialho and still won so you can’t bet against him in this one.

(0-1, 205 lbs) Travis “The Kiwi Buzzsaw” Banks

VS

(1-1, 205 lbs) Ricardo Loressi

In this one we have two fighters making their debut in the SFC against eachother. Banks looked very passive in his first fight basically doing nothing while his opponent took home the decision victory. Loressi on the other hand won quickly once then got out fought on the ground resulting in a fairly close loss by decision.

Prediction:

Banks has a small advantage standing and should try and keep it on his feet, because on the ground Loressi is very clearly the superior fighter.

Winner: Ricardo Loressi

Loressi will have trouble getting the fight to the ground, but I expect him to manage to pull guard eventually and once down there the submission victory is only a matter of time.

(1-1-1, 145 lbs) Joca “Pegador” Carioca

VS

(1-1, 145 lbs) Derrick Ferguson

Carioca has fought twice in the SFC against the same person resulting in a draw then a loss in the rematch. At the small 145 division any loss can have a large effect, because of the limited opponents available.

Ferguson has also fought twice yielding both a victory and a loss. In the victory he showed a bizarre fighting style of attempting clinches then trying to get to the ground, and in his loss his opponent utilized the clinch to completely dominate Ferguson.

Prediction:

Both fighters seem to prefer fighting on the ground. Carioca has a large advantage standing, but we have yet to see him use his boxing to any effect so it will largely come down to who uses their Jiu Jitsu better.

Winner: Joca “Pegador” Carioca

Carioca in both of his recent fights went toe to toe with a brown belt on the ground and as such I give him a slight advantage even on the ground.

(1-0, 205 lbs) Gootti Kustaa

VS

(3-2, 205 lbs) Tristan Farsight

Kustaa looked strong in his SFC debut managing to takedown his opponent three times of 4 attempts and then winning through his ground and pound once down there. With his granite chin and takedown attempts its very difficult for fighters to deal damage while avoiding takedowns.

Farsight is here to make his SFC debut having gone 1-2 in RISE with his last fight being a loss in the closing minutes of the third round of a title fight. He showed impressive takedown defense, stuffing 24 out of 25 attempts by his opponent in the title match.

Prediction:

This is a very tough fight to predict as Farsight as shown extreme resilience to takedowns, but once taken down has looked lost. This fight will ultimately come down to whether or not Kustaa can take Farsight down.

Winner: Gootti Kustaa

Kustaa appears to be the favorite, because Farsight will have trouble finishing Kustaa, but with just one successful takedown it is likely Kustaa can end the fight then and there.

(2-1, 135 lbs) Brain Fog

VS

(1-0, 135 lbs) Zurab “The Wolf” Koshadze

Fog looked both impressive and pathetic in his first fight as he attempted takedown after takedown until finally getting his opponent down and beating him via submission. Despite failing in many takedown attempts his determination really shined through as he pulled through and eventually got the takedown he needed.

Koshadze had much more success than his opponent Fog as he succeeded much more easily with his takedowns and his ground and pound, while not being strong enough to end the fight, was enough to get him the unanimous 30-27 decision victory.

Prediction:

Both fighters looked decent on the ground in their SFC debuts and it is tough to see who wins, but whoever has the more effective gameplan on the ground will most likely walk away with the victory this one.

Winner: Brain Fog

Fog has a much more experienced matter so in a fight where gameplanning is key I expect him to come away with the win.

(3-0, 135 lbs) Kyoji Kubota

VS

(2-0, 135 lbs) Pinched Nerve

Kubota looked impressive in his SFC debut playing to his opponent’s weakness as he likes to do with his all around skill set. He has shown a preference for submission victories, but this is more indicative of his opponents’ skill sets than his own.

Nerve came over from NJMMA and will look to show that his undefeated record there holds water in the SFC. He looked a bit out of sorts in his last fight using an unorthodox strategy to get the win, but a win is a win and against a jack of all trades he will need to use his strengths to win.

Prediction:

Nerve will look to showcase both his Muay Thai and his wrestling skills to try and get a victory while Kubota should have the advantage boxing, and in the Jiu Jitsu area of his game.

Winner: Kyoji Kubota

I feel like the jack of all trades Kubota has the advantage in this one, because his opponent’s strengths are not much better than Kubota’s abilities in those skills and his strengths in the other skills are much higher.

(2-1-1, 145 lbs) Sun Ming

VS

(1-0-1, 145 lbs) Javier Dominguez

Ming is looking like the strongest fighter at the 145 lb level and I expect him to be in the title fight conversation. However, Dominguez is one of the people also in that conversation making this almost a title fight without the belt. The winner here will go a long ways in putting himself at the top of the 145 lb division.

Prediction:

Ming is a strong Muay Thai fighter who, once he gets you in the clinch does not let go and can abuse the clinch with shocking power. His opponent Dominguez has only fought the same guy twice in the SFC, but his jiu jitsu is on point and you can’t count him out if this fight goes to the ground.

Winner: Sun Ming

Both fighters have strengths in different areas, but I give Ming the advantage, because with a purple belt he should be able to stave off Dominguez’ submission attempts long enough to get back to his feet.

(4-1, 265 lbs) Shazaam “Bam Bam” McDaniels

VS

(1-1, 265 lbs) Mahir “Mahe” Ferhatbegovic

McDaniels looked good in his debut fight then went on to lose to Hippo who we recently saw get smashed in the 265 title fight. While I don’t expect him to be good enough to take the title at this point in time he definitely belongs towards the top of the 265 rankings.

Ferhatbegovic won his debut in a decision against another fighter making his debut and going up against McDaniels will go far in showing us where exactly he stacks up in the division.

Prediction:

In all of his fights McDaniels has one goal and that is to keep the fight standing, if he gets taken down you can expect him to do everything in his power to get back to his feet. Ferhatbegovic will need to win this on the ground or in the clinch, but he stacks up evenly against his opponent in these arenas and it will be a coin flip as to whether he can win this.

Winner: Shazaam “Bam Bam” McDaniels

McDaniels is the clear favorite, having the advantage boxing, and he could probably fight reasonably well from the clinch as well if it came down to it.

(1-0, 205 lbs) “Killer” Mike Grey

VS

(2-0, 205 lbs) Antonio “Mago” Medina

Grey had an impressive win over Halvarsson in his SFC debut and hopes to continue the good run with a win in this one. He was on point with all of his grappling attempts and managed to control the fight throughout, losing only the final round on the scorecards.

Medina looked extremely devastating in his SFC debut as he submitted his opponent 37 seconds into the first round, ending the fight before it even really got started. This is one gardener you can’t underestimate as he just might uproot you where you stand. (haha...ha.... yeah sorry)

Prediction:

Both fighters like to fight on the ground with Grey having a large advantage in the wrestling arena and yet being even in the Jiu jitsu department.

Winner: “Killer” Mike Grey

Grey should be able to win this one relatively handily with his superior wrestling controlling from the top. Although Medina can submit from his back its going to be difficult against Grey.

Main Event - SFC 265+ LB Championship FIght

(2-0, 265+ lbs) Arn “The Enforcer” Anderson

VS

(2-0, 265+ lbs) Jeff “Lumberjack” Messer

Finally onto our main event of the night with 265+ lbs championship fight. Both of these men have fought in two SFC fights with impressive victories over the top contenders in the SFC to get here and it should be a spectacular fight between two opposing styles as Anderson the wrestler jiu jitsu artist takes on Messer the Boxer.

Prediction:

If Anderson gets this fight to the ground it is guaranteed he will win, because he has an overwhelming advantage on the ground while Messer has just as large of an advantage on his feet.

Winner: Arn “The Enforcer” Anderson

With Messer having no jiu jitsu skill to speak of I expect Anderson to eventually get a takedown and take home the submission or TKO victory with relative ease, not because he is the better fight, but because his style seems to counter Messer’s.

SyFi 21 [Preview]
March 9th, 2018 - The Underground in Sydney, Australia
by Malikoy Muza

265+ lbs : Harald 'Viking' Knochmal [1 - 1] vs. 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan [4 - 2]
Harald Knochmal returns to Sydney Fights for his third appearance, having gone one a piece in the organization. The Viking got laid out cold by a straight right courtesy of Jeff Messer, but is looking to return strong against 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan. Hogan is coming in from New Jersey MMA, where he gathered a 1 - 2 record. He is looking to make an impact in his SyFi debut, though Knochmal will be a worthy adversary.
- Keys to Victory for Harald Knochmal: Have a high output on the feet, where his good boxing overshines that of Hollywood's.
- Keys to Victory for Hulk Hogan: Come with the noted granite chin taking the shots to the face necessary to grab ahold of Knochmal and working a submission.
- Prediction: Hulk Hogan by submission.

205 lbs : Mister 'The Clinch F---fest' McNasty [5 - 3] vs. Michael 'Mike' Wazowski [2 - 0]
Both fighters are hot on the heels of a TKO victory and are looking to string that together into a winning streak. This one looks to be a clinching clinic, as Wazowski has laid out both his opponents with powerful knees. McNasty, however, prefers the use of the trusty left and right from the clinch. Stylistically they are built fairly similar, it'll be interesting to see which one can reign victorious.
- Keys to Victory for Mister McNasty: Overpower Wazowski in the clinch and take the W by point fighting or TKO.
- Keys to Victory for Michael Wazowski: Work the body to weaken the iron chin of McNasty. Perhaps shy away from clinching as his opponent is likely to have an advantage.
- Prediction: Mister McNasty by decision.

265+ lbs : Ole 'The Rock' Anderson [2 - 0] vs. Classy 'Ink' Necktatoo [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Ole Anderson: By now it's quite clear what the Anderson brothers' tactic is when it comes to stepping inside the cage; takedown and a submission in the first round. This fight is no different, as Anderson looks to tag on Necktatoo's name to the list of victims, where Ivar The Boneless and Adam Hardy are already included.
- Keys to Victory for Classy Necktatoo: Hope to catch Ole with something as he moves in. The old striker vs. grappler scenario looks daunting to say the least for Necktatoo.
- Prediction: Ole Anderson by submission.

205 lbs : 'The Playboy' John Tucker [2 - 1] vs. Ricardo 'Ismail' Count Vacula [4 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for John Tucker: Another grappler vs. striker match up, but this one could go either way, if Tucker can reach in deep to get a very early TKO. If not, he'll probably be on the losing side against Vacula.
- Keys to Victory for Ricardo Vacula: Go for an instant takedown and keep the fight there at all costs.
- Prediction: John Tucker by TKO.

265 lbs : Travis Dillon [3 - 0] vs. Peter Steel [0 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Travis Dillon: The only way Dillon is losing this one is if he can't work his own pace. His heavy handedness will make it hard for Steel to move in with his own offence.
- Keys to Victory for Peter Steel: Hold Dillon in the clinch and work hard to keep him against the cage.
- Prediction: Travis Dillon by knockout.

205 lbs : Joshua 'The Sauce' Syracuse [2 - 0] vs. Dukey Tots [4 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Joshua Syracuse: The primary question to ask is does Syracuse have good enough energy levels to strike for the win come fight time? He might need to look for that stellar gas tank trying to defend the wrestling and jiu jitsu game of Tots.
- Keys to Victory for Dukey Tots: Take the battle to the mat, securing the finish with either ground and pound or a submission.
- Prediction: Dukey Tots by TKO from ground and pound.

265+ lbs : Raymond Kim [1 - 0] vs. Voshon 'The Pain Train' Daniels [1 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for Raymond Kim: Come in with urgency, working the wrestling angle to get to showcase that ground game. To try and stand with Daniels would be a costly mistake.
- Keys to Victory for Voshon Daniels: The Pain Train is coming your way, all aboard! Next stop: KO City.
- Prediction: Voshon Daniels by TKO.

205 lbs : Jaylon 'The Monster' Anderson [1 - 0] vs. Sheamus Meallan [1 - 0 - 1]
- Keys to Victory for Jaylon Anderson: Don't get dragged into the kickboxing of Sheamus. Drag him to the canvas, where ground and pound point fighting will see him overtake the judges' scorecards.
- Keys to Victory for Sheamus Meallan: Meallan is in it to scrap! As long as he can throw and throw often, he's in for a good chance. If 'The Monster' can make it dirty, which he will be looking to do, the outboxing attempts of Sheamus will prove less fruitful.
- Prediction: Sheamus Meallan by decision.

205 lbs : Benjamin Bronckhorsten [1 - 0] vs. Corey 'Little Thunder' Smith Jr [1 - 0]
- Keys to Victory for Bronckhorsten: This is going to be one for the ages, as two men that can take a punch will be looking to throw some at each other! The little we have been seeing about Bronckhorsten is that he likes to box, keeping on the outside.
- Keys to Victory for Smith Jr: 'Little Thunder' finished his first and only opponent in 57 seconds doing exactly the same as his opponent. They are fairly well matched stylistically, though Smith should have the upperhand.
- Prediction: Corey Smith Jr by decision.

155 lbs : Alex 'The Cobra' Coates [2 - 0] vs. Jake 'Wagga Wagga Reaper' Chimper [3 - 2]
- Keys to Victory for Alex Coates: The last of the bunch of BJJ prowess tested against pure striking, Coates needs to utilize kicks and his Muay Thai in general to keep out of the range of Chimper.
- Keys to Victory for Chimper: Despite his good jiu jitsu ability, Chimper has lost a couple fights by submission to better mat workers. There's no way Coates will be anywhere near that level. If his chin can hold up the Thaiboxing pedigree of Coates, Chimper will get a clean finish on the ground.
- Prediction: Jake Chimper by submission.
