CEC 422

15th January
Los Angeles Memorial Colossuseum

CEC is once again putting on a spectacular card filled with some of the very best fighters in the world. Not only that, 2 titles will also be on the line. A superlight between ADs LHW Champion, Zivic and CECs very own #1 LHW Almu Tantor headlines the event.

Almu Tantor vs. Fritzie "The Croatian Comet" Zivic 205lbs TITLE FIGHT

The current #1 ranked Light Heavyweight, Tantor, puts his rank and title on the line against #8 ranked Zivic who is coming over from AD in a superfight.

Tantor has long been regarded as one of the very best LHW around, when he made the transition from KT to MMA he was touted as one to keep an eye on. He was quickly signed up to Ascension where he went 9-1 before capturing their title. When Ascension was merged into CEC he received an immediate title shot and won the belt. He has yet to lose since capturing the CEC gold. His striking skills are beautiful to behold, you can see how much of an impact his KT days have played in creating an MMA killing machine. It will take a very special kind of fighter to beat him, especially standing.

Zivic is one of the most popular fighters around, the fans love a fighter who goes out on a limb to give them a show. His 37 (T)KOs from 45 wins have made him a fan favourite, he goes into the cage to get it over as soon as he can in spectacular fashion. With only two losses in 21 fights, with those two losses to top opposition Zivic is a fighter to watch. However, there have been criticisms that his record is inflated and he that he rarely goes out to find the tough fights, his last 5 wins his opponents have had a combined record of 137-71, with many of their losses via KO. However his wins over them have been impressive none-the-less but each time he has stepped up in competition, he has lost. Lets see if that trend continues.

I see these two slugging it out with neither giving an inch, Tantor has proven to be very hard to finish, he fought one of the hardest hitters at 205 in Katsaros, 5 times and was never hurt by his punches. I feel he will be able to take Zivics hardest punches and return fire with just as much damage.

Prediction: Tantor via TKO

Victor "THE DEATH RIDER" Zsasz vs. "Put Gold on it" Sean Tallon 135lbs TITLE FIGHT

Two top 10 Bantamweights show down as Zsasz looks to successfully defend his newly won belt for the first time against former KT superstar Sean Tallon.

Since moving down to 135 Zsasz has been a fighter reborn, he used to be fighting at Light Heavyweight! He looked excellent in his 135 debut as he used his powerful striking attack to handily win the CEC gold. He loves to work on his opponents lead legs by battering them black and blue, his leg kicks serve to set up his body and head punching combinations. He has changed his technique since becoming older, where as before (albeit at higher weight classes) he put more power into his strikes, recently weve seen him take a more cautious approach to not leave himself open to hard counters, he now throws with more accuracy and cruises to decisions rather than giving it all up to look for that KO.

Tallon is no stranger to fighting for gold, he was the EFFA champion for a long while before picking up his first MMA belt in SP Icon and recently challenging for the EVO belt. His striking is the cornerstone of his offence, but he has recently shown off some grappling. However dont expect him to engage Zsasz on the floor, I see this being contested on the feet which Tallon and Zsasz will both feel at home.

Its going to be a war! Neither man backs down and both have excellent striking. If a KO is going to be scored I see Tallon walking away with the win, he has great power for his weight and is rarely KOed whereas Zsasz has been KOed 8 times in his career.

Prediction: Tallon via TKO

Damian "The Core" Hardacre vs. "The Mad Monk" Grigori Rasputin 265lbs

Two of the most popular Heavyweights duke it out, hoping a win over the other will be enough to secure a title shot.

Hardacre comes into this fight with a 24-5 record, very impressive, even more so when you add in 19 of them he has scored a (T)KO. 6-4 over his last 10 may not seem great, but before that he dominated some of the best at Hilo Fight League, finishing as their final champion. He then was semi successful at EVO but he couldnt string together wins. Now he is 30, in the prime of his career he is hoping a win over Rasputin can keep his good form going and propel him to a title shot.

Rasputin is one of the hardest hitters out there, only 2 of his 22 wins have gone to a decision, the rest well he demolished them with his power striking. He has shown his chin is good enough, but when faced with really good fighters he often folds under their power. He is currently 4-0 in CEC with all wins coming via KO, surely a win here a title shot will be his?

Hard fight to call, Rasputin is never out of a fight until he is KOed, his power is just too dangerous but Hardacre is entering his prime and if needed he has shown he can take the fights to the floor and submit his opponents, but I dont see that happening. I think Hardacre will be able to finish Rasputin with his stand up.

Prediction: Hardacre via TKO

Tonton Hong vs. "Ultimate" Dee Stroya 205lbs

Two fan favourites in Hong and Dee Strotya meet on the main card, it will be their 2nd meeting, but this time neither will be leaving with a title.

Hong is still regarded as a top LHW, but 2-3 over his last 5, some say he is already on the downside of his career. Hes held titles in numerous orgs before, including CEC, so his career has been successful. He has fought Dee Stroya before in a CEC title fight where he scored a 5th round TKO. He has shown an extremely versatile MMA game, he can land takedowns and score with heavy ground and pound, but his striking power is a marvel to behold. He can turn the lights out very quickly, but he has his wrestling to fall back on if he needs it.

No one knows Dee Stroyas real name, its lost in the history books. One thing we do know, he is a destroyer, pardon the shite pun. Former long time RYZE champion before moving to CEC, he struggled for a long time in CEC but eventually worked himself to becoming the champion. He lost to his opponent on the 15th, Hong, so revenge is something he is looking for when he enters that cage. He has an excellent KO record, but also the majority of his losses are via (T)KO.

Hong may have the more well rounded game, he can incorporate takedowns whilst Dee Stroya only has 1 way to win. It will be about who can land first and who lands with power, neither have the best chins so its a toss up.

Prediction: Hong via TKO

Jalmari "Titus" Pullo vs. Corwin "The seawolf" Anstey 170lbs

The opening fight on the main card is a rematch, the young Pullo looks to stomp out the older former CEFC champ, Anstey.

Pullo comes into this fight as a grappling specialist, his BJJ is a delight to watch as he is able to wrap up submissions from insane angles. He also has a wide variety of submissions techniques sowing he can trap anyone from any position on the ground. His striking is coming along, but its still his weakest aspect of his MMA game.

Anstey is a veteran of the sport with over 30 fights, he has shown off an impressive all round game, with takedowns, submissions and KOs. However first and foremost he is a top heavy wrestling specialist with heavy ground and pound. The majority of his wins come from him on top of his opponent pounding them into an early night.

I see this fight going the same way as their previous encounter, a high level grappling battle. Pullo will be more active in seeking submissions but if Anstey is allowed to be on top, he will tee off on Pullo. I see Anstey getting in top position a lot, either finishing early or getting a decision.

Prediction: Anstey via UD

UNDERCARD

"Gentleman" Jim Fitzsimmons vs. "Nro 3" Luu Viulu 205lbs

Both are excellent strikers, however where they differ is that Fitzsimmons is notoriously difficult to finish and Viulu has been KOed 17 times in his career. I see an early KO win for Fitzsimmons.

Borys Grabowski vs. Terrance "Jackson" Clam Digger 145lbs

Grabowski is a very hard hitter, he has a great KO record seeing as though all his fights have occurred at 145. However Digger looks to be the full package, power, submissions and tough to finish. Ive got Digger via whatever he wants on this one.

"Wittertainment" Mayo Kermode vs. "The Executioner" Davor Langerholc 205lbs

Two more old school type fighters, Kermode is a tough as nails sprawl and brawler with a huge amount of power in his fists. However Davor is a ground guy, he can knock his opponents out on there or get the tap, he has also only been finished once via strikes in his career. I feel Davor will take this one.

Bartek Pietrzak vs. "Wetwork Ninja" Waru Kuzuri 145lbs

Two former legends here, Pietrzak has held titles in numerous orgs and has the well roundedness any MMA fighter dreams of. Kuzuri is regarded as one of the best FWs ever, even when all thought he was past it he picked up the EVO title. However his power and overall striking ability is amazing, tough call but Im picking Kuzuri.

Hendrik "Langer" Daross vs. Austin Anderson 205lbs

Daross always brings everything, his ultra aggressive style is a crowd pleaser, but also leaves him open to big shots and the KO. Anderson can duke it out anywhere but he doesnt have the power to be a real threat on the feet. I see Daross beating Anderson via decision in this one.

Thats all folks! Be sure to tune in to watch the fights.

CEC 438

155lbs Title Fight

Donny "The Bear Jew" Donowitz vs Jameson "Guinness" Connemara

On April 8th 2016, two of the greatest fighters of all time will face off for the CEC Lightweight Title. Currently they are number 1 and number 2 in the pound for pound rankings and this will determine who is the best fighter to currently grace MMATycoon. Recent history will show both fighters have been unbeaten in the CEC cage since their arrival late last year when CEC and Ascension merged. Each won the title they hold in their debut bouts here when Donowitz earned a decision over Victor Zsasz and Connemara outpointed Jupiter Jones but after a few wins their paths have taken a slightly different route. Donowitz went on to dominate in the Olympics and took home the Gold medal while Connemara suffered a loss at EVO in the tournament opener, seen by most as a shock defeat to James Robertson, a man he had beaten twice before. Jameson has since returned to CEC and went on a five fight win streak while improving his record here to 8-0. Donowitz meanwhile was involving himself in a quick fire trilogy at EVO with Olympics Featherweight Gold medalist, Tuomari Hurmio. Having lost the initial fight by rear naked choke, Donny returned to us to notch up a further 2 wins here and take his CEC record to 9-0 before heading back to avenge the loss to Hurmio. He did so by split decision which left it at a win apiece so the third fight had to happen. Donny took it, this time by unanimous decision. This brings us to where we are now, a fight to decide who truly is the number 1 fighter at the moment, maybe even of all time.

It's hard to say who the favourite in this fight actually is, it will probably divide the population. Donny has spoke of retirement, his age would suggest that day will be sooner rather than later but the fact is he is still fighting, still winning, still the top dog in the rankings. He also goes the full 5 rounds in most of his fights these days and wins, which really does show that his age is not something that can be regarded as a negative factor. He may be 42 but his conditioning is up there with the best of them. Connemara is 8 years younger at 34, he is also the slightly smaller, slightly lighter fighter, will this make him the quicker fighter? Safe money would be on a full 5 rounds ending with a judges decision when you look at Donowitz winning 62% that way and Connemara 57% while Donny has never been knocked out and Jameson has only a single stoppage loss. We can all speculate how this fight will go and we could argue it all day and night and still not come up with a definitive answer as to who will win. The one thing we can guarantee is that come April 8th we are going to witness one of the greatest fights of all time. Who you got?

Karim Bashorov Vs Antonio Jose De Sucre PREVIEW

By Alika Webb

This preview is brought to you by Urban Fighter, the number one clothing store in New York and the official sponsor of the living legend Karim Bashorov.

Claymore Elite Combat

CEC 530 - Karim Bashorov (33-6-1) Vs Antonio Jose De Sucre (22-13)

What’s more to be said of the legend that is Karim Bashorov? The living legend has been one of the most dominant fighters on the planet in recent memory. A decision loss in a superfight for the ages against Steve Belliveau proved but a minor setback as Karim Bashorov is back on track, once more he is the best in his division the world round. The number one pound for pound spot still eludes him but he is well on his way to regain his greatness of old and the next obstacle on his path to retake the throne is Antonio Jose De Sucre. On a fifteen fight winning streak is the challenger, undefeated since signing with a new manager almost a year ago. Can the challenger take advantage of the significant weight and age difference and make history or will the wily legend put his experience at the highest level to work and end the undefeated streak of the five year younger challenger?

Karim Bashorov’s diversity is the key to his success. He can stand and trade with the best of them, a torrent of stinging punches raining over his foes while the threat from below keeps them on their toes. Like the kraken he lurks in the deep, always ready to drag his opponent to the mat. His grappling is his forte and its always a pleasure to watch the master at work. Thundering ground and pound blows, smooth transitions and lethal submissions are his trademark but the grappling wizard never takes any unnecessary risks. There is a sense of near perfection in the execution of his cunning game plans. Can the new CEC light heavyweight champion re-establish his dominance as he faces his first challenger?

Before this legendary fighter stands a beast in his own right, Antonio Jose De Sucre is an absolute striking machine. A true force to be reckoned with, Antonio Jose De Sucre has finished more fights than the champion and all his finishes have come by strikes. Like the champion, he loves to set a dire pace and swarm the opposition with a thunderstorm of hard-hitting blows. Ravaging kicks and savage punches take away his opponents’ will to win and raise his hand at the end but will the same be true for his next fight as Karim Bashorov is on a level this machine has never faced before. Will the ground game of the champion force the challenger to take caution or will he boldly keep moving forward with reckless abandon?

CEC 564
Preview by: Buck Morian (tenbuck4)

Sergey Beznisko vs. Alex John Connor Burns
In this 205 lbs title fight Sergey “Ioh” Beznisko (14-9) will be attempting to defeat the “Scotia Bear” Alex John Connor Burns (28-8-1). This will be quite an upset for Beznisko if he achieve this victory. However, Burns has 37 fights under his belt, whereas “Ioh” only has 23. If the Scotia Bear wants to win this fight, he has to keep his game up, and stay in the stand-up. He outclasses Beznisko here and can win by playing smart and going the distance. Ioh, on the other hand, will have to really prepare for this fight against a better competitor and try to get this fight to the ground, where he is much more equal. An exciting title match to watch, and, while the Scotia Bear, is the favorite, don’t be surprised if Sergey Beznisko manages to clinch this victory.

Cornelius Carr vs. Hyryx Dall
In this fight, Carr (33-12-1) takes on “The Rattlesnake” Dall (13-8-1). A straight-forward bout for either side. Carr wants to use his experience and his superb skills in the stand-up to end this fight quickly. Dall, on the other hand, wants to get this fight to the ground as fast as possible, and use his proficiency and black belt in BJJ to get him this win.

Jason Rage vs. Linus Akerman
Rage (22-7) looks to defeat Akerman (16-5) in this 170 lb matchup. Almost completely evenly matched, expect fight won on decision, going the distance as neither fighter has a distinct advantage.

Mini Stipe vs. Alton Newcastle
A sleeper matchup that can very well be one of the best fights of the night. Stipe (16-7), a younger, less-experienced fighter with a whole lot of skill, challenges the veteran Newcastle (25-21-2). In this fight, Stipe is going to have to keep his opponent in the clinch, and try and go all the way. 90% of Newcastle’s losses have been by decision. If Stipe can exploit his advantage in the clinch, however slight, he may be able to take down his phenomenal opponent.

Taiki Aoki vs. Bas Dekkers
Another fight between veterans with yet another to-the-point game plan. Aoki has his black belt in BJJ, and Dekkers has Aoki outclassed in the clinch. This fight will go to who has better control of the flow, and who can control the fight itself. If it goes to the ground, expect Aoki to come out on top. However, if Dekkers can keep things held up in the clinch, he should be able to take his win via decision.

UNDERCARD
Lowe vs. Yabaisama
Stenbeck vs. Blake
Racic vs. Scissorhands
Takada vs. Alvado
De Sucre vs. Gravity

145lbs : Euphegen Doubdtfire vs Gareth Keenan

The world is ready to crown a new pound for pound king when Doubdtfire and Keenan come face to face in the headlining bout at CEC 569. Actually, when this fight was agreed Doubdtfire was the number 1 fighter but just a few days ago Gareth Keenan sat and watched his stablemate, Saul Goodman, take a split decision victory to overtake the CEC 135 and 145 champion. Doubdtfire wants that spot back and Keenan, who sits at an all time high of 3rd in the world, also wants it but only one will prevail.

Doubdtfire has put together a 12 fight win streak that has seen him take down some of the top names in the sport, including 135lbs champions from GAMMA, Syn, Combate FC and of course here at CEC. He is the decision specialist that does not stop as he looks to outwork every opponent who steps in the cage with him. A slow start to his CEC career had him only pick up a single victory in his first five fights but since then his record has been a remarkable 19-2 and as I said before, a 12 fight unbeaten run. In his last outing we saw him submit the Aggressive Damage champion Sergei Panikov in a unification of the titles after our acquisition of the org earlier in the year.

Keenan is the GAMMA 145lbs champion and is on a 5 fight win streak of his own. His record of 20 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses shows that he deserves to be sitting where he currently is in the rankings. With the numero uno manager in tycoon standing firmly behind him he truly is a force to be reckoned with. He has been to CEC once before where he suffered only his second loss of his career at the hands of Serge Spectre. His only previous loss before that was to Victor Tsoi, a fighter managed by the same guy that has brought Doubdtfire to the very top of the MMA world, Aylib 2.0. Will that fight hold any bearing on this one? Will Keenan get some form of sweet revenge over both Aylib and CEC? Can David Brent come up with the game plan to give him the win and a 1-2 in the fighter rankings? We arent far away from these answers in what should prove to be the biggest fight in CEC since Donowitz vs Connemara.

Co-Main Event

265lbs Title : Jean Paul Garcon vs DJ Maximus

Garcon comes into this fight on a 5 fight win streak and is hoping to defend his heavyweight title for a third successive time. This is actually his third stint as the champion and his longest run thus far. His first time around he managed a single defence before losing it to Timur Rubin. Second time he was defeated in his first defence of the belt, again to Rubin. This time it is looking brighter. For a start, the fighter he actually won the title from was the very same fighter that had taken his crown from him on those previous occasions. So he must feel like he finally got over a massive hurdle in his way. The confidence he has gained from that is there for all to see. The streak that I previously mentioned has comprised of him finishing all his opponents by KO/TKO and one would imagine that is something he will be pushing to continue.

Maximus is still kind of an unknown for the CEC fans. He arrived from Aggressive Damage in the merger that happened recently with a 29-14 record and took just over 2 minutes of cage time to make it the big 30 when he demolished fellow newcomer Anthony Joseph in impressive style. Knocking his opponent down numerous times and cutting him open in the process makes him a very dangerous prospect for any fighter. In fact, all 30 of his wins have been by KO/TKO and Garcon has been stopped that way in 6 of his 9 career losses. The downside of the stats for him is that those 14 losses on his record have all been stoppages. The upside for us is that we are likely going to see two big guys throw down with one of them knocking the other out. But who is your money on? Id hate to have to choose.

265lbs Title : Jean Paul Garcon vs Pierre St Georges

Just one event ago, Jean Paul Garcon extended his win streak from 5 to 6 with a first round stoppage of DJ Maximus. A kick to the neck that had any fans that were still sitting rise from their seats as one was followed up with some strikes to put a stamp on the finish. Garcon was still tired up and like the champion he is wanted back in the cage to face his next foe. At the moment it doesnt look like anyone can stop the CEC heavyweight king and number 8 P4P fighter and adding another opponent to his list of victories would only see his stock rise even further along with that P4P ranking. We know anything can happen in this sport though so while he is walking with that feeling of invincibility he still has to be careful when entering the cage.

St Georges still looks like a relative newcomer in comparison. While his opponent has 36 fights under his belt, Pierre has only 15 but he is proving to be a danger to anyone he faces. 11 knockouts from his 12 wins shows you that he is here to finish fights and his latest streak of wins has taken him to number 8 in the heavyweight rankings at the moment. Despite some of the names he has taken down along the way he clearly comes into this fight as the underdog but that does not phase him at all as he knows he has the tools to compete at the top of the game. The only question is whether its too soon for him this time around or is it in fact the perfect time to shock the world and take that title home with him.

Co-Main Event

170lbs Title : Hector Romero vs Desmond Glass

Romero got back to title defence business in his last fight after a number of superfight opportunities had presented themseves to him in his previous outings. A second round TKO stoppage over incoming Aggressive Damage champion was the outcome after Romero laid some serious damage on his opponent on the ground. He is now looking for a similar result in another recent acquisition due to the AD buyout. Romero is the number one welterweight in the business as well as being ranked 7th in the P4P rankings. He really has become a bit of a decision specialist and has proven to be difficult to beat due to his ability to work harder than the man across the cage from him.

When you talk about hard workers though, Desmond Glass is the guy that you imagine that statement being about. A 12-1-1 record under his current manager with all his wins being by decision. He boasts a 13 fight unbeaten run and rightfully deserves the chance to battle it out with Romero for the CEC belt. If the main event promises a knockout then this one is sure to be a 5 round strategic game with both men looking to impose their will on the other. Glass has a real opportunity to bolster his own ranking here as a win would swiftly move him from top 10 contender to the upper reaches of the division. And if that happens then who knows how far he could go.

205lbs Title : Ras Li Judah vs Hyryx Dall

Ras Li Judah arrived from Aggressive Damage as their recently crowned 205lbs champion. His first fight here was to unify the AD and CEC titles when he faced our champion Sergey Beznisko. After 2 rounds we were probably looking at a round each for both fighters but we wouldnt get the chance to see the end of the third. Around the minute mark Judah dodged a right from Beznisko and landed one of his own which signalled the beginning of the end and gave us a new light heavyweight champion. A great debut win that has put him on a 4 fight win streak, all 4 via stoppage. His total record is an impressive 25-10-1 with 21 of those 25 not requiring the judges input. This is his very first defence of his recently acquired belt but he clearly has the skills and confidence to keep it for many fights to come. He will be hoping that the rest of his fights go as well as his first outing in the CEC cage.

Hyryx Dall is a fighter that could spell trouble for anyone in the division and more than a handful of big names can testify to that. He may have started slowly at CEC with a debut loss and a record of 1-2 in his first 3 fights but since then he has looked unstoppable and is currently on a 6 fight win streak bringing his CEC figures to a much more impressive 7-2, 15-8-1 all in. He is as well rounded as a fighter can be, showing he can knock you out, submit you or take you all the way to decision and be victorious. His run has included a decision win over former CEC champion Cornelius Carr, which was probably the moment that everyone really sat up and took notice of the work this incredible fighter does. There is no doubt he is worthy of his title shot, now he just has to prove that he is worthy of taking that belt home with him.

Co-Main Event

205lbs : Alex John Conor Burns vs Stan Judea

Burns has had a very tough time lately in his fights going 1-3 in his last 4 outings which saw him lose his title and the subsequent rematch with Sergey Beznisko. Before that he looked invincible, racking up win after win against some of the biggest names in the world of mma. His trilogy with Cornelius Carr that resulted in a loss, a draw and finally a win were a joy to watch and those are the kind of fights this legend wants get back to. There is no doubt he has the ability to take care of his opponent but does he have the desire to do so? He is not an old man at the age of 35 but he has seen a lot of action at the highest level and could continue to do so for many years to come, maybe he just needs to catch a break to propell himself back up the ranks and into title contention once more.

Stan Judea has only appeared once in the CEC cage after he moved over from the Aggressive Damage brand. It was a debut loss to the title challenger on the main event tonight, Hyryx Dall. A quick bounce back from that defeat is what he is looking for against Burns to prove to himself and to the CEC fans what he is truly capable of. A win in this fight throws him right back into the title picture where he really feels he belongs. Like his opponent, Judea is also 35 with a vast amount of fighting experience in big orgs like Syn, EVO, Ascension, GAMMA and obviously his most recent run in AD. His record of 23-11-1 show that he is capable of the big victories over some very recognisable names. While a defeat here wouldnt harm is career too much it would set it back a step which is something he obviously does not want to see happen. Both fighters are very skilled which makes for a highly anticipated co-main event.

Main Event

205lbs : Sergey Beznisko vs Alex Asztalos

Beznisko returns to the cage for the first time since losing his 205 title to Ras Li Judah back at CEC 567. Getting back to winning ways is what is essential to him so he can make his way back to a rematch with his conquerer and reclaim the belt. When he arrived here his record looked a very average 9-8 but right away you could see his skill level was better than that record showed. He has since amassed a 6-2 run here including a double over Alex John Conor Burns, stopping him twice while winning the title and then defending it in the rematch. That title is gone now though and its time to move on to the next chapter which starts with the opponent across the cage from him. A win will move his current light heavyweight rank of 6th in the world closer to that of the current champion and would set up his chance at vengeance.

Asztalos appears for the second time since his move from Aggressive Damage to CEC. His debut saw him outpoint the same fighter that his opponent stopped twice previously, Alex John Conor Burns. That fight came with other pressures as it was his first outing at 205lbs, stepping up in weight to seek new challenges in his new home. Fans definitely seemed impressed by his work rate in that fight but the Hungarian Sledgehammer would have been disappointed not to add to his already impressive 21 KO/TKO stoppages he has collected since beginning his mma career. A win is a win though and if he manages to come out triumphant here he will have disposed of not one but two former CEC light heavyweight champions in his first two fights. After that his sights would surely be on taking down another and walking away with the title in the process. A massive fight for both men and a fantastic headliner for us to get excited about.

185lbs Title : Zeus Obliteratii vs Dasha Karimov

Zeus Obliteratii will walk into the CEC cage for his the 10th time at this event but it will be the first time he walks into it as the 185lbs champion. A title he claimed in his last fight against the same opponent he will face off with here. A split decision win for the Smiter Of Mortals took his record at the org to 6-3 and extended his winning streak to 4, a massive statement in a stacked weight division. Making it 5 in a row will be a tough task but he has already proven to the world that he can beat his foe, now he just needs to prove it again. At this moment in time he is rated as the number 3 middleweight fighter in the world but his goal is to make the leap from number 3 to number 1. Beating Karimov for a second time would go a long way in helping him reach that target.

Karimov wants revenge, its as simple as that. Whether you scored the last fight for him or for his opponent it really doesnt matter because they are both here to do it all again and this time The Wolfman wants the win that will even it up between the pair. He had been on a great run before his last fight. In fact, under his current manager his record was 9-1-1 before facing Zeus in his first defence of the CEC belt. He was granted an instant title shot at then champion, Edward Stoker, under the terms of the buyout of Aggressive Damage which stated that the incoming champions would face current CEC champions. So on his first fight of a second run with us he disposed of Stoker with some devastating knees and became the champion. Now he looks to do it all again and hopefully end the who really won chat from their last meeting. Because if this one ends in more clear cut fashion then does it really matter who won the first time around?

Romero returns to the cage after his split decision victory over Desmond Glass at CEC 570 took his record to 30-10, 13-3 in CEC. Although he has been a bit of a decision specialist in recent times, he maybe cut that last one a bit close and will look to be a bit more convincing when he heads in for his latest showdown. There is no doubt he is the number 1 welterweight in the world but in the business we are in you have to prove it every single time you step in to fight. Currently ranked as the number 6 in the P4P rankings, another win would see him head closer to that top spot where he feels he truly belongs. An absolutely fantastic headline fight for this event.

Linus Akerman comes into this fight with a 18-5 record, 6-1 in CEC with a 5 fight win streak on the go. He has certainly earned his shot at the welterweight title disposing of some great fighters on the way. His only loss here was by majority decision to Terrence Thornton which he avenged shortly after with a decision win of his own. Winning by knockout is clearly his preferred method and he will certainly believe he has the advantage in a stand up fight. 15 knockout wins combined with the fact he has never been stopped himself really has him in confident mood, especially when he knows his opponent has a number of knockout losses on his record. Even though some may see him as the underdog, taking out the number 1 guy at 170lbs really would see him rise in the rankings and he certainly wouldn’t be shocked even if the rarest of the world would be.

145lbs : Sergey Panikov vs Shogun Iron Tyson

Sergey Panikov arrived to CEC as the Aggressive Damage 145lbs champion which granted him an immediate shot at the title here and a chance to take out the P4P king and CEC double weight champion, Euphegen Doubdtfire. Unfortunately for him it just wasn’t his night. A second round triangle saw Doubdtfire walk away with the submission victory. Panikov now looks to bounce back in his return to the cage. With 22 knockouts from his 35 wins we certainly know that he has that one punch ko power in his hands and he always looks to end the fight that way. He has the tools and self belief but when they both step in there he will certainly not have it easy with the opponent across from him. A win would throw him back into the title picture for sure and he will take confidence from the fact that he already owns a split decision win from their previous fight.

Tyson drops down in weight for this fight having been competing at 155lbs lately. His last outing there ended in a unanimous decision victory for him and he would love nothing more than to add another win to his record. He will also be looking to throw down a little bit of revenge after that aforementioned loss he has on his record to Panikov. A win in his return to the 145 division would definitely leave him with options as to which weightclass to resume his career at. On paper it may look like he is at a disadvantage in the stand up but with 20 knockout wins of his own and his only stoppage loss coming from submission, don’t be surprised to see him attempting to keep it on the feet and take the victory with his solid striking skills.

135lbs Title : Euphegen Doubdtfire vs Diagoro Yabaisama

Doubdtfire puts his 135lbs title on the line for the first time since CEC 528 having spent most of his time defending his other title at 145lbs or partaking in superfights. Finally a challenger has emerged in our lightest weightclass worthy of stepping in to take on the worlds pound for pound king. Last time out, Doubdtfire cemented his position as the number 1 fighter with a split decision win over then GAMMA champion, Gareth Keenan. That took his winning streak to an amazing 13 and every time we see him in the cage it is hard to imagine that run coming to an end. He will without a doubt go down as one of the greatest to ever grace our org, the only question is how many more wins can he add to his incredible run.

Yabaisama may not have quite the name of his opponent but his future certainly looks bright here. After 4 fights he has 4 wins and is deserving of his crack at the champion. His ability to end the fight via knockout and submission make him a dangerous prospect for anyone and the fact he has ground out some hard well earned decisions shows that he has a genuine chance of winning this fight. To most he is undoubtedly the underdog but in this sport we know anything can happen and for Yabaisama a chance is all he needs.

265lbs : Timur Rubin vs Ueda Umanouke

Super heavyweight champion Timur Rubin is looking to make another run at the 265lbs title and become a double weight champion once again. After back to back losses he bounced back with an impressive first round stoppage of Samson Wade. That brought his CEC win total to 16, making it 17 with a win here would surely lay the foundations for a crack at the new owner of the belt, Silas Monk. Rubin loves to knock people out, its what he does best and its what the fans turn up to see him do, 32 of his 41 career victories have ended this way and it wouldnt be that surprising if he added another here.

Umanouke has only had a single appearance in the CEC cage but it was a successful debut that ended with a first round stoppage victory over Amis Pelle. A little over 3 minutes is all we really have to judge him on but he looked untroubled in that period of time. This fight with Rubin will certainly give us a better idea of his capabilities and what his future may hold for him here. Knowing that his opponent is a knockout specialist may make him a little cautious or it could make him go out to ensure he finishes before he is finished. Either way we should certainly expect fireworks.

205lbs Title : Ras Li Judah vs Sergey Beznisko

At CEC 567 Ras Li Judah made his debut here and took advantage of his instant title shot opportunity by stopping Sergey Beznisko in the third round by strikes. They had both won a round each but Judah was in no mood for letting the judges have a say in the outcome so he let his hands fly and put his opponent on the deck before diving in for the finish. This was the first time that Beznisko had been stopped by strikes, a huge statement by Judah. A great debut secured him the title and in his first defence he was even more deadly as he disposed of Hyryx Dall in the first round when he cracked him with a huge counter right hand that shook him before throwing a few more that ended it. Now he welcomes back the man he took the title from in what is sure to be a fight not to be missed.

Beznisko has bounced back from that loss with a first round stoppage of his own and will certainly feel that he can secure the win this time around. Losing to Judah was only his second taste of defeat in CEC and after his first defeat he went on a run that that saw him take out some big names and win the title. So there is evidence there to suggest that the setback could make him come back stronger than before and regain the 205 strap. A slight change of gameplan could be all it takes to give us a different outcome or maybe the fight gods were just on the side of Judah that day and this time they may choose the other side. Either way, we are in for a hell of a fight.

205lbs : Eagle Loveladdy vs Alex John Conor Burns

New boy Eagle Loveladdy arrives with a record of 33-8 with 25 knockouts to his name. With stats like those it’s easy to see why fans are eager to see him in action in his forthcoming debut. His stand up skills are some of the best you will see anywhere in the mma world so he is going to be a very dangerous opponent for anyone that faces him in our cage. A fantastic acquisition for CEC but he won’t have it easy in his first fight with us as he takes on a former champion at 205lbs.

Alex John Conor Burns is the man that gets to welcome Loveladdy to Claymore Elite Combat and will want to give the new kid on the block a debut loss and take the wind out of his sails. He got himself back in the win column when he outpointed Stan Judea in his last fight after back to back losses in the fights previous to that. Now he wants to kick on from that and move himself firmly back into the title picture where he believes is his rightful place. Another chance to get that belt back is all he wants and his record shows that he is more than capable of grasping his chance with both hands. The winner of this fight will surely be front and and centre for our headliner immediately after, ready to challenge the man who is declared champion.

170lbs Title : Linus Akerman vs Hector Romero

Akerman may have shocked a few people back at CEC 573 when he walked away with a split decision victory over Romero as well as the 170lbs title but he wasn’t the least bit surprised by the outcome and has every intention of ensuring that history repeats itself in the headlining act on this card. Despite 1 judge giving Romero 4 out of 5 rounds the other 2 gave Akerman the nod in 3 rounds meaning we had a new champion on our hands. Once again Linus will look to utilise his stand up skills as this is the area he feels he is too good for Romero in. If he sticks to the game plan then there is a good chance he retains his title.

Romero knows he can perform better than he did that night and maybe he just wasn’t on his game when he lost his belt. Regardless, he lost the fight fair and square and now comes into the rematch with the sole purpose of proving that he is in fact the better fighter and that first time around was just a glitch. He has been putting in the hours in the pre fight training camp but he has to ensure he gets it right on fight night or he could end up with the same result as before. Whichever way you feel the bout will go, one thing you have to admit is that we have an absolutely fantastic main event in store for you.

170lbs : Desmond Glass vs Hans Huber

Desmond Glass bounced back from his title fight disappointment against Hector Romero with a solid decision win over fellow title contender, Zane Mason. Now he looks to further his charge towards another shot at the belt and maybe even another impressive win streak like the one that saw him go 13 fights without loss before he ran into Romero. It’s safe to say that his recent win brought back a little confidence and he will feel he has the tools to walk away with win over Huber before settling down for the Main Event to see who he could be battling for the 170lbs strap.

Huber won’t be keen on letting that happen though. Being a former champion himself he knows he can perform on the big occasions and there is absolutely no reason why he can’t do that in this fight. His recent 3 fight win streak puts him near the top of the division and that’s where he belongs. His record speaks did itself and there is no doubt about his abilities as those 3 wins I mentioned have been against excellent fighters. Doing it against Glass will be difficult but there is no reason to believe it cannot be a good night in the cage for Huber.

265lbs : Jean Paul Garcon vs Ueda Umanouke

Fan favourite Jean Paul Garcon makes his return to the cage after his heartbreaking title loss back at CEC 570 and he will be looking to get back to championship contention with a win in this eagerly anticipated bout. Garcon had created a belief that that he was an unstoppable force in the heavyweight division and nobody was more shocked than he when he was knocked out in the second round by Pierre St. Georges. A short time away gave him time to heal from his wounds, find that hunger and get back to training like a mad man to achieve his end goal which is to reclaim the 265lbs crown. Considered one of the most popular fighters of this era, his absence however short, has been noticed by the fans. Most believe the St. George’s fight was just another bump in the road and that Garcon will soon be at the top of the tree where they believe he truly belongs.

Umanouke definitely has a fight on his hands and he knows it. A former champion as an opponent is always going to be a tough proposition but let’s not forget that Timur Rubin was also the former champion in this division as well as the current super heavyweight champion and Ueda walked away with a unanimous decision victory from that fight. His CEC record is 2-0 and taking the scalp of Garcon in just his third appearance here would be a huge statement in a very tough weightclass. Should he achieve something he knows he is more than capable of then that would definitely propel him much closer towards a meeting with current heavyweight king, Silas Monk. Umanouke definitely has some great stand up skills, enough to compete with most in the division but Garcon could be a step too far there. However, if this fight goes to the deck then you really have to believe that Ueda has the clear advantage and that could be his safest route to a victory here.
