DFN #44 Picker vs. Fagaro

Live at the Empire Indoor Arena sponsored by Sin City Allstars.

The Main Event

Lightweight Bout

Larson Picker (18-8) vs. Don Fagaro (17-13)

These two have fought previously before and it was during one another's debut match at DFL #96. Don Fagaro won that bout via submission late in the first round. Will tonight be a different outcome? I can't give a definite answer on that. Larson Picker has went onto win 7 out of his next 10 bouts, mainly winning by TKO's or KO's. While Fagaro has went onto to win 6 of his next 11 bouts. Both fighters are very well rounded fighters and can usually handle a fight anywhere in the cage. But when it comes to this particular match Picker is the better striker, but when it comes to grappling Fagaro will have the upper hand. Either way both of these fighters are some of the better lightweigthts so its going to be a huge fight in the division.

Co-main Event

Lightweight Bout

Marco Ajax (35-17-1) vs. Edward Kenway (26-11-3)

This will be Marco Ajax's third fight in the DFL, he lost his debut match but came back to beat Dexter Scarface via TKO in the second round of their fight. Now he'll be welcoming an old foe into the DFL, Edward Kenway. Both previously fought for the now defunct underground and have fought each other twice. Both fights went in favor of Edward Kenway, it'll be up to Ajax to turn the tide.

With a comparison of the two fighters, Kenway will have the advantage in the stand up, but Ajax will have a significant advantage when it comes to grappling.

Main Card

Light Heavyweight Bout

Mike Snow (16-8) vs. Darth Sidious (22-17)

Neither of these two fighters have been able to do any good in the DFL, obviously one of them is going to take home a win tonight. But both fighters surely need it. Mike Snow hasn't won a single fight in the org, while Darth Sidious has only won a fight. Darth Sidious will be the favorite to win in this fight although both are brawlers when it comes to striking Darth Sidious is the more skilled and experienced fighter. But Snow could out the two on an even playing field if he brings Sidious to the ground.

Middleweight Bout

Guillermo Pato (11-5-1) vs. Bill Newton (12-8-1)

Pato and Newton are both young and upcoming fighters and will be the future of the DFL soon. Both are extremely talented young fighters and tonight they'll be facing off. Pato is a superb Muay Thai fighter with 9 wins via KO's while his opponent Newton has 9 wins via submission. Both fighters will be coming into this fight with totally different game plans, it'll all come down to who can impose their will. Pato will have the advantage with his wrestling, so he'll be the favorite to win this fight.

Lightweight Bout

Sergei Babakov (13-5) vs. Andre Soares (18-12)

The Russian Sergei Babakov has been made his presence known in New York. In his four fights since signing up the DFL, he's won three of them. His only loss coming from Tommy Shelby in their second bout, the first one he claimed victory by TKO, but Shelby held on until the end for the second and won by points. After that match he went onto Knockout Junior Iron before the second minute of the first round.

Andres Soares is a very well rounded fighter having 8 wins by (T)KO's and 8 wins by submissions. His only loss in Duel so far was against Tommy Shelby in which he lost via TKO. With a comparison of the two, Babakov will have a solid chance to defeat Soares with his much better striking skills. But if Soares can get him to the ground and control the fight it could be another submission win for Soares.

Middleweigh Bout

Alexander Potter (19-11-1) vs. Terry "Bang Bang" Bogard (10-2)

Potter with back to back wins against YB Sol and Vadim Nazarov, will be going against "Bang Bang" Bogard. Both fighters will be coming into this match up with fairly good runs so far. Alexander Potter will be looking to improve his positioning in the rankings bring the second to last although he has beaten numerous opponents. While Bogard will need this fight to break out of the mid table. In a side by side comparison of the two skill sets, Potter will have a dominant striking game against Bogard who is clearly the better grappler.

Undercard

MW Bout: Black Coleman vs. Robert Munson

LHW Bout: Frank Dux vs. Donal Noye

WW Bout: Miles North vs. Ogmak N'Bagr

Weekend Recap

The biggest news I got for you is Ravi Shankoli is still the middleweight champion after defeating Dick Army in the second round by TKO. Which saddens me because I really love Dick...... Army. In fact both title fights this week had the champion hold onto the title. Stephen Bushiri remains the champ for the Bantamweight division after his rematch with predator Burns. The last time they met the fight ended in a draw, so it was a much awaited bout. But in the rematch Stephen Bushiri dominated, losing none of the rounds against Burns.

DFN #44

Fight of the Night

Edward Kenway vs. Marco Ajax

For Edward Kenways debut he sure put on a show winning fight of the night against Marco Ajax. The first round went in favor of Marco Ajax but either his heart wasn't in it, or his conditioning is degrading because he lost the next two rounds. Kenway dominated in the clinch and was slightly better striking from the outside but overall he did an amazing job and won the fight.

Winner By decision: Edward Kenway

Larson Picker vs Don Fagaro

Larson Picker out classed Don Fagaro in a fairly short fight. Picker TKO'd Fagaro nine seconds in the second round. After seeing his performance Fagaro needs to work on his accuracy.

Winner By TKO: Larson Picker

Bill Newton vs. Guillermo Pato

I don't think Pato should of shown at this event, he surely didn't act like he wanted to be there. In his defense he did attempt to throw a few hands but none of them hit and once he was tooken down that was all there was Bill Newton made quick work of that fight. This will also be Bill Newton's second sub of the night in a row, so congratulations to him for that!

Winner By Submission: Bill Newton

DFL # 151

Peter Parker vs. Eric Staal

Peter Parker is back on his feet after two knock outs in a row, I think he'll be getting that title shot to get what was previously his. Although this knockout against Eric Staal came awfully close to the end of the second round, Parker is not a fighter to rest on laurels right before the end of a round. This comes as a set back for Eric Staal who was on a three fight win streak with his last loss being against Peter Parker. He definetly held on a bit longer this time but still couldn't beat him. This means that Peter Parker will be going against Ravi Shankoli, hopefully he's ready for that, I know I wouldn't want to fight Shankoli!

Winner By KO: Peter Parker

Gracie Allen vs. Karter Kinshaw

It's always crazy to see a fighter who dominated two rounds in a row and was on his way to winning the fight hands down by decision to get TKO'd midway through the last round. All he had to do was hold on a bit longer!! But Kinshaw couldn't do it. He landed so many more strikes to. Hell when Allen was leaving the fight he looked like a bus ran over him. It goes to show that Gracie Allen has a strong heart and the eye of a tiger, he didn't back down one bit. Knocking Kinshaw out at 2:50 of Round 3.

Winner By TKO: Gracie Allen

Lukas Hanak vs. Synyx Stall

Hanak has been calling out the lightweight division since his arrival to the DFL. He's been ignored until now, I think. This is his fourth fight in a row He's won, and to put it in perspective he's only had four fights in the DFL. Biro, give this man a title shot!! Hanak is hungry for the belt. Hanak was the much more aggressive fighter. It didn't matter if it was on the ground or on his toes he dominated the match, hopefully he can continue his good performance when fights the top of his division.

Winner By Decision: Lukas Hanak

DUEL Fight Night 53 - Noye vs Laiho Main Event Preview

This Saturday, we have a light-heavyweight battle between two veterans.

This bout is not for a title, but both fighters are high level.

Donal "The Blacksmith" Noye has had his ups and downs in DUEL Fight League. He takes this fight off of a TKO loss.

Despite this, Donal never fails to give an exciting performance. Only two of his seventeen fights have ever seen the end of the 3rd round.

Donal definitely isn't looking to submit Alexi - he's looking to knock him out. Donal is young, and strives to eventually become the

light-heavyweight champion. This Saturday may be his final step.

Alexi "The Eastern Assassin" lost his last fight to the current light-heavyweight champion. He's much older than Donal,

but is overall a sharper fighter due to his experience. He wants to put himself back into possible title contention with a win

over the young prospect, by showing a dominant performance. His ideal victory would be to take Donal down, and submit him.

Alexi may have the advantage on the ground, but these guys are brawlers. I don't see this fight going to a decision.
