Stole this from another game. Won't mention it cuz the game is dead anyway. Would think you'd want to limit it more and definitely make the impact minimal. Like +1% or something. How many skill points, etc. that's up for debate but the feature with the images would be cool.

 

It'd involve creating a skill tree.

I'd prolly go Offensive / Defensive / Passive (Natural or something regarding fighter hiddens)

 

 

Maybe every 5 fights you receive a skill point with a max of 10? you can invest a max 3 or 5 points in each skill. Skills would be things like...

 

 

Offensive:

 

Liver Kick!: (Insert Bas Rutten line here) your fighter has an increased chance of landing body kicks.
+1% chance to land body kicks.

 

Cro Cop: +1% chance to land head kicks

 

Kimura master: +5% effectiveness to kimura attempt.

 

^^^ not sure how you'd program / code the kimura thing, since sub finishes are random lines of text.

 

 

Defensive:

 

Slippery Limbs: Your fighter is slippery in the paint. He is harder to submit. +1% to submission defense.

 

Bob & Weave: +1% to head punch defense.

 

 

 

Athletic / Natural / or whatever the hell you wanna call it.. this would just basically be hiddens:

 

Heavy Hands: Beating up big slams of meat, rocky style, your fighter has increasing his punching power.

+1 KO Power (max of 5)

 

Brainiac / Nerd: After spending too much time on the internet playing browser games, your fighter feels smarter than he really is.

+1 IQ (max of 5)

 

Charismatic: +1 confidence

 

Sponge: Your fighter is a sponge in the gym, absorbing techniques quicker.

+1 learning speed (max of 5)

 

etc

etc

 

 

I guess as I typed this I realize you could/should probably simplify it and remove offensive / defensive and just make a Skill Tree thing and let people invest a single point into hiddens. Would probably be the easiest way to do it. Would be a unique feature to add to spice things up with the vets. Maybe make small logo's that would appear under a fighters primary's on his fighter page to show where the points have been spent.

That mastery tree looks like a cheaper version of League of Legend's :/ great idea though

 

it's from a boxing game. But I thought it was interesting. Would be cool to see something with a lot of thought put into it. This could also be a minor solution to the "psychiatrist" and "plastic surgeon" companies people keep mentioning.

 

Could just call the Skill "Therapy" and it increases your fighters confidence by 1 point lol.. or plastic surgeon.. increases cuts hidden by 1 point.

I feel like the interface could lure some people in and maybe the +1 every 5 fights could give people motivation to 1) fight, and 2) reward them for longevity.

 

 

 

While I think it'd be cool to see an increased in effectiveness at certain moves... we'd be limited to Single Shots, Body Shots, Combos, Head Kicks, etc. Tycoon moves. The rest is flavor and don't think it's that controllable.

 

best bet imo would be every 4 or 5 fights or so you get to add +1 to a hidden that you select from a fancy/skill tree interface. Max of +5 per skill (or maybe it's +2 per skill and max of +10) but I know +5 on top of any hidden, it's nothing game-breaking or game-changing. so maybe +10 wouldn't be a drastic change either. whatever Mike or community decided.. even though something like this is a long shot, think it adds new unique element to game.

I think this would add a lot more uniqueness to fighters. Too often you see the same generic build dominate, I definetly think that this would help diversify the game a lot.

 

If the special moves could be implemented... even if it was just flavor text like signature moves..

 

"Overhand right" (head punch)

 

"Spinning Wheel Kick" (head kick)

 

"Laser Left" (Head Punch)

 

"Judo" (Takedowns from clinch)

 

"Superman" (superman punch, head punch)

 

"Axe Murderer" (axe kick, head kick)

 

"Arm breaker" (armbar or kimura, sub move from top position)

 

 

no added bonuses just really big increased % to see these moves (flavor text) when fighter makes one.

 

 

but I'd really like to see +1 to hiddens. mainly because it seems like an easy fix for psychologist / surgeons that some people have been waiting on forever. why not just simplify it and every 5 fights allow somebody to +1 a hidden of their choice and max it out at 5 or 10 points.
