Annoying Weight Classes

I have not lost to it recently i dont think but something really bugs me about the game.

Why are fighters allowed to compete at weight classes that are not there weight cut. It shouldn't be allowed. I see it time and time again 145 guys at 155. 155 guys at 170.

I understand that there are super fights to be made but weight can be put on and taken off like it would be done in real life not trying to get cheating advantages. Most of the time they just fight in that div to get a speed advantage.

Also 265-265+ is a gray area as well

I dont know what do the forums think of this?

IMO as long as natural weight is above or the same as the weight they fight in it's fine. So 155 for example, 156 is ok even though their natural weight they can cut to 145. Take Frankie Edgar, he an probably make 125 if he pushed himself but fights at 145 and was 155 champion. As long as people don't take the piss and weigh 149 for 155 division.

I think it's good that the option is there, but that it is the duty of the orgs to keep things straight. In some situations it's pretty handy though, for example if you want to bring up a nice 135 project, often you lack a solid/fun weightclass for the early beginnings. When they are "ready", there is always a hotspot.

Yeah but would he be able to fight in a 155 fight weighing 125. The athletic commissions would not allow it. It just one of them things in the game i prob care about to much when it dose not really mean to much. I just like the game to be as realistic as possible.

As for 149 in 155 there is this going on as well.

I actually dont even know if it gives you an advantage just dont like seeing it

You can always add weight and take weight of though that is in the game but yeah suppose it down to the orgs to sort it out. Like a catch weight option for fights and orgs get fined if there below the weight

You don't grow though... although people were tempted once to create some mutagenic sups though. :D The relation weight/height is important... i've never ben a good Tycoon analyst, but as you mentioned possible advantages - usually this topic came up int he past when it came to undersized grapplers stepping up a wc to face taller/bigger strikers, especially in the counter takedown period.

I think people should deal with this at more of a personal level and either suck it up if you don't like it or deal with people you agree with. Everyone is used to seeing someone cut weight to fight but in my opinion if someone is 146lbs they are over 145 so it's reasonable they could fight in the weight class above 145 if they wanted but I'd agree someone who weights 145lbs should fight at 145 unless they're just taking a super fight or they're actively willing to fight at 145 and 155. This is an odd exception but I have no problem with a guy going up or down one weight class if he also actively takes fights within his normal weight class, it just helps to diversify competition in my opinion. You could make the case that I draw the line at 145 here but 146 is alright - the 1lb difference isn't that big of a deal so why not let the 145lbs guy fight? Sure, that's you but we all place a line somewhere and that just happens to be where I place mine.

In my opinion this is a part of the game you as a manager can judge org owners on, if you strongly disagree with them then you can avoid signing your fighters there.
