  1. WC 22: CHAMPIONS preview http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1429986679wc22.png The World Combat Championships is taking things to a whole new level on Saturday, May 9th down at the Liberty Dome in New York City, its WC 22: Champions! An astonishing THREE title fights grace the evening's stacked card including bouts for the WC Bantamweight, Light Heavyweight and Middleweight titles. And amazingly, that’s not all! The entire card is filled with great fighters including two former WC champs being featured on the undercard because the main card is too stacked! I'm Shtaaf Reimish, and enough of my blabbering about how astonishing this card is, let's get the previews rolling! #7 Rickety Cricket (4-0) vs #12 Beast "The Monster" Masterson (0-0) Superheavyweight The opening fight of WC 22 comes to us via the superheavyweight division as Rickety Cricket gets set to face Beast "The Monster" Masterson! Cricket comes to WC super-confident as he recently fought his way to four-straight QFC victories all via the TKO. He may be only 17, but the wrestler from San Francisco has proven he can duel it out with guys a lot older than him, but the skill level goes up now that he's in WC. I really do think he could be a WC star of the future! Masterson makes his pro debut here at WC 22, and there may be no better opportunity to show oneself off than a card like this! The Bahamian has been working hard at his Muay Thai skill set, and combined with decent wrestling attack, should be able to hang in there with Cricket. Prediction: Cricket via TKO Kale Strong (1-0) vs #14 "Iron Lungs" Smokey Simpson (3-2) Heavyweight Next up we feature the first of three bouts from WC's heavyweight division as Kale Strong makes his sophomore trip into the octagon against "Iron Lungs" Smokey Simpson! Strong made his triumphant pro debut at 'April Fools' where he won in dramatic fashion with a superman punch that left Arn Anderson motionless midway through round one. The 17-year-old Canadian is managed by one of the all-time greats, Bowser Big Dog, and with that coaching, and his terrific striking skills, should be in good shape to continue his ascent up the WC heavyweight rankings. Simpson comes to WC after losing his WHCF debut via third round TKO to Jesse Thunder over in Hilo. The move to the bright lights of New York City will most likely be a good one for the California native, but will need to bring this fight to the canvas, which may be tough considering Strong's takedown defense, and utilize his brown BJJ belt if he has any sniff at defeating the teenager. Prediction: Strong via KO #10 "Ravishing" Rick Rude (4-1) vs #7 San Terra (13-8) Heavyweight The first of 10 current or former title holders makes his trip into the WC 22 octagon as San Terra looks to begin a resurgence as he takes on "Ravishing" Rick Rude! Rude makes his WC debut here at WC 22 after fighting quite well in the Combat Purist organization, working his way up to a title fight but lost to now fellow WC fighter Drew Carvalho. The boxer from Germany last fought on April 11th where he TKO'd Christopher Vanhoijdonk early in the first round. Look for more stand-up from the German. Terra is a name very familiar to WC fans, however this is the WC undercard debut for the former WC superheavyweight champion. Winning the belt at the inaugural WC 1, Terra successfully defended it once before losing it to MPP in the next go-around. Things haven't gone well since then for the Polish striker, losing his last four-straight bouts all to the big names of the WC heavyweight division. He'll really need to dig in here if he has any chance at resurrecting his formerly successful career. Prediction: Terra via TKO #4 Angel "The Real Deal" Face (5-0) vs #6 Arthur "King" Carvalho (9-7) Middleweight A couple of top 6 contenders in WC's middleweight division take center stage in the next bout as Angel "The Real Deal" Face takes on Arthur "King" Carvalho! Face comes to WC as the only middleweight champion the Vegas-based Tradition FC has ever had. he had to leave his belt behind, however, as he embarks on a new challenge here at WC, and boy are the stakes going up for the Vegas native. The 26-year-old has natural knockout power that has led him to five (T)KO wins in each of his professional fights, but this may be his best ground-attack opponent to date, so we'll see if he can defend the takedown once again. Carvalho has made quite a name for himself in WC with back-to-back wins after faltering in the later stages of the Island season. With his 'Sub of the Night' performance at WC 17 over Buba Harmon and his TKO victory over Saladin Hussain at WC 19, the Brazilian has proven he is here to compete at WC. Prediction: Carvalho via submission #2 Billy Tinkl (13-6) vs #8 Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain (10-6) Middleweight Its really hard to believe that with all these great fighters that we're still on the undercard, but that's just the case as long time champion and top contender Billy Tinkl gets set for a tangle with Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain! Tinkl needs no further background to WC fans, as the former WC middleweight champion is coming off back-to-back title fight losses to Ska Asap. Their last battle lasted the full five rounds, with either fighter able to fully take command of the fight in what ended up being a bit of a snooze-fest of a grappling match. In the end, though, Asap won via decision, and now the #2 ranked Tinkl is force to fight his way back up to top contender status. It will not be a cakewalk for the native of Congo, however, as Hussain matches up quite nicely with him. Speaking of Hussain, the Afghan made his WC debut at WC 19 where he lost via second round TKO to Arthur Carvalho. Before that the 27-year-old fought well while with Highland Games before switching management to WC owner JJ Tycooner. This should be an interesting grappling battle that will surely be decided on the canvas. Prediction: Hussain via submission Bantamweight Championship Title Fight http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png [C] Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald (9-5) vs #1 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard (8-2) It's our first fight of the WC 22 main card, and it's also our first title fight of the evening! The WC Bantamweight belt is on the line as current title holder Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald is ready to defend his belt for the first time against the #1 ranked contender "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard! Fitzgerald has done just about everything right since his WC debut loss to Tom Franks at WC 10, winning three straight decision fights en route to the WC bantamweight title. The New York native was able to keep that title fight against Bob out of the clinch enough to seal the victory utilizing his carefully placed head punches. At 9-5. There is still lots to prove for the 26-year-old, but winning the title is the start, defending it is a whole other animal. Jaqquard has made a quick ascent up the WC bantamweight rankings since emerging in the organization at 'April Fools,' winning two straight bouts against Ahokas and Jon to set up this huge fight. The Canadian is not afraid of taking the fight wherever he needs to as his win record clearly shows. With 4(T)KO, 2 submissions and 2 decision wins, he's proven he can win anywhere. This has all the makings of a title fight that could go down in memory lane forever! Prediction: Jaqquard via submission #1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher (16-2) vs #2 Mib "Home Run" Louie (13-6) Superheavyweight It’s a superheavyweight top-contender battle to see who gets the next crack at current WC superheavyweight champ Skunk Asap between #1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher and #2 Mib "Home Run" Louie! After blazing his way to 14-straight victories to open his career, MPP hit his first setback at 'The Big Bang' losing his previously untouchable title to Skunk Asap. The LA native responded nicely with a spinning backfist KO of Vincent Obi at 'April Fools' to set up this fight-in bout with Louie. His knuckles have helped him to 14 of his 16 victories, so expect ore of the same from the former champ. Louie makes his debut as a superheavyweight after fighting his entire career until this point as a heavyweight, but after three-straight losses, decided a change was needed. The switch presents a potential gift to the Canadian, as a win here all but guarantees a title shot, something he was trending downwards of attaining as a heavyweight. He'll be giving up nearly 50 pounds to MPP, but hopefully that provides a quickness advantage he can utilize to its full potential. Prediction: Punisher via TKO Light Heavyweight Championship Title Fight http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png [C] "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets (10-3) vs #1 Skunk Asap (14-4) The third-to-last fight on the stacked WC 22's card features the second of three World Combat title fights, this one for the light heavyweight belt in a rematch between newly crowned light heavyweight champion "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets and the former light heavyweight champ and current superheavyweight title holder Skunk Asap! Von Sprockets made short of Asap in their last encounter at 'Beat Down' in early April, scoring the takedown seconds into the fight and eventually getting Asap to tap on his third submission attempt, an arm triangle. While only holding a blue BJJ belt, the German has proven he can tangle with the best on the canvas, scoring seven wins via submission in his pro career. This is Asap's fifth straight title fight with WC, including his superheavyweight win over MPP, a light heavyweight win over Jimmie Craig, before losing his LHW belt to Von Sprockets and a heavyweight tangle with Barney Gumble in his last fight at WC 19. He's got Muay Thai skills to burn, but if he can't defend the takedown, this may be another short night for the both of them. Prediction: Von Sprockets via submission #2 Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley (13-3) vs #3 Dick Wad (11-3) Heavyweight The WC heavyweight division has never been so stacked full of talent, and WC 22's co-main event features two of its premier names in a battle for the potential chance to square off against the Gumble/Lazaro winner, its Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley vs Dick Wad! After a 9-1 start to his career, Offley was rewarded with his first title shot while with HG, losing to longtime HG heavyweight king and current WC champ Barney Gumble at HG 49. The Bahamian made the switch to WC eager to prove he can win a title fight, and it seems like only Wad is now standing in his way of that opportunity after defeating San Terra in his WC debut. Offley has always had amazing ground skills, but his stand-up game has improved immensely throughout his pro career. Wad was the unbeatable WC heavyweight king on the Island, before Gumble came along and dethroned him shortly before the Island season ended. After five title fight wins, the hard-striking Canadian fell via TKO and then furthered his misery by losing to Maki Pulu in his next bout. Wad seems to have recovered nicely here in New York, however, as he's reeled off back-to-back TKO wins over Ali Mouba and Mib Louie setting up this massive fight versus Offley. Prediction: Offley via submission Middleweight Championship Title Fight http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png [C] Ska Asap (18-5-1) vs #1 Arnavut "The Bird Man" Sevket (14-2) And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships together with Big Bear Nutrition presents five rounds for the undisputed WC middleweight champion of the world, it’s the champion, Ska Asap, taking on the #1 ranked WC contender and current HG middleweight champ, Arnavut "The Bird Man" Sevket! Asap is currently undefeated as a middleweight, winning back-to-back title fights over longtime middleweight champ Billy Tinkl here in New York. After spending most of his career as a welterweight, the Djibouti native is ready for the next challenge in his career, and boy do the stakes get raised! Asap will need to get the takedown early if he has any chance in this one, but judging by his recent success, it seems quite doable. Sevket has reeled off eight straight victories, including his run through the Middleweight Island tournament in which he exacted revenge on Massa Hurmaaja in the championship bout. His most recent fight saw him take the HG middleweight belt from former HG champ Grant Morrison via an awesome 5-round decision fight. It's his WC debut for the Turkish fighter, but he's primed and ready to become the second fighter to hold the WC and HG crowns after Gumble did it back on the Island. The unification is on! Prediction: Sevket via TKO The fireworks are primed and ready in what will surely go down as one of the greatest evenings of fighting in New York MMA history! With three title fights, and ten champions (either current or former) making their way into the octagon, WC 22: Champions will be a can't miss event for anyone who calls themselves an MMA fan! I simply cannot wait to take my seat (although I don't think I'll need it) down at the Liberty Dome this weekend! See you Saturday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  2. Already making things look better for the next one! Thanks again for all the input! And ya JJ, I do think you over-did it a bit
  3. Dimo "Man Eater" Paballo http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/26/26b2.jpg I Dimo. I no speak English. I eat man.
  4. Thanks for the advice guys! I'll re-format some stuff for next time to make it more pretty. I've tried linking the fighters but something about it doesn't work with my OS or something. Not sure. I'll keep trying! Again, I really enjoy writing the previews for y'all and I appreciate the critiques/advice of my work too! Thanks!
  5. WC 21: Mouba vs Roumani preview http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1430266336wc21.png The World Combat Championships is ready for another stacked card of MMA action! Coming to you live from Hard Knocks- New York this Saturday, May 2nd, World Combat together with Big Bear Nutrition presents ten fights ready to engage the crowd like never before, its WC 21: Mouba vs Roumani! Headlined by the much-anticipated WC Featherweight Championship tilt between Mamad Mouba and Ali Roumani in a rematch of the Island tournament final, WC 21 has everything a MMA could dream of! Shtaaf Reimish here again to break them all down, so let's get 'em going! Bio Hazard (0-1) vs Sonny "Steamin" Rich (0-1) Superheavyweight WC 21 kicks off with the big boys of MMA as Bio Hazard and Sonny "Steamin" Rich look to restart their pro careers after pro debut setbacks in this super heavyweight clash! At 0-1, it may seem that Hazard may not be a fighter of WC calibre, but he'll be the first to tell you that QFC loss was not the Hazard we'll come to know in the near future. The teenager out of Nevada began with a solid wrestling background, and has been training his ass off to round-out his attack and be better prepared for his second pro MMA bout. We saw Rich at WC 17 where he fought a decent three rounds but fell via decision to OZ Icon. The Philly native will look to keep the fight standing but close the gap on Hazard and use his far superior Muay Thai skills to grind out a victory. I see Hazard getting the takedown, however, and winning it via submission. Jimmie "Who Is" Galt (1-0) vs Bobby "Rude 1" Rude (0-1) Heavyweight A pair of 18-year-old American heavyweights are next up inside the octagon as Kinston's Jimmie "Who Is" Galt takes on Newark's Bobby "Rude 1" Rude! After a 21 second KO victory over Eerie Erasmus in his QFC pro debut, Galt will be looking to keep his hot beginnings going in the octagon Saturday. With respectable boxing skills and a rounded ground attack, Galt is ready to steadily make a climb up the WC rankings as his career wears on. Rude made his pro debut in the WC back at 'April Fools' where he fell via third round TKO to Mike Jursilla. While he probably didn't win any round, the Newark native proved he could stand in there with solid boxers, which will be needed again here at WC 21. Should stay standing, and with the natural KO power advantage going to Galt, I'll take him winning via KO, #13 Grant "The Sensational" Knight (2-3) vs #15 Eik Hoisen (3-1) Lightweight The third fight on deck comes to us from the lightweight division as Grant "The Sensational" Knight looks to rebound here against upstart Eik Hoisen! After going 2-2 in the USFC including a TKO victory over Tim Hawk, Knight made his WC debut at WC 18 in grand fashion against the #2 ranked lightweight Papa Shango, falling via submission. It looked as if the Irishman was not truly prepared for the barrage of takedown attempts Shango threw at him, and when he finally got the takedown, it was over quickly. The 20-year-old can stand-up fight with anyone, with a solid mix of boxing and Muay Thai skills, so expect him to keep this fight standing. Hoisen comes to the WC after a Middleweight QFC tournament run saw him go all the way to the Finals, before losing to Jose Silva via TKO 4 seconds before the end of round one. The Muay Thai fighter out of Estonia will want to close the gap on Knight if he has any chance in this one, but even in the clinch, he doesn't have a huge advantage. I fully expect Knight to rebound from his Shango loss with a TKO victory at WC 21. #4 Jimmy Howard (2-0) vs #10 Beast "Cowboy" Boy (1-0) Welterweight A couple young yet promising and undefeated welterweights are next up at WC 21 as Jimmy Howard gets set for Beast "Cowboy" Boy! Howard has surpassed everyone's expectations so far in his brief career, but the level of competition continues to rise as his climb up the rankings continues. The 25-year-old home-towner opened up his career with a opening round TKO of Russell Palmer in the QFC, before surprising everyone with a dominant decision victory of Kurt Kiwi at WC 18, where he took Kiwi down and wore him out with ground strikes. Boy comes to WC after an ultra-impressive pro debut win, which saw him TKO Fed Ali 15 seconds into his G-Co 28 pro debut. The 20-year-old comes confidently to the east-coast and WC, looking to use his extreme stand-up skills to swing his way to the top of the welterweight division, and push for a title shot. One win at a time, however, but I do see Boy winning this one via KO. #3 Sean "Pretty Boy" Myler (6-5) vs #11 Giacomo "Italian Stallion" Ysengrin (1-0) Welterweight WC 21 closes out its preliminary card with another welterweight clash between the current #3 contender Sean "Pretty Boy" Myler and #11 ranked Giacomo "Italian Stallion" Ysengrin! Myler comes to WC after a decent run in ROV in Russia, before being picked up by WC owner JJ Tycooner as his new manager. The 20-year-old Brit is a phenomenal striker, but lacks a ground game, including defense, so expect him to keep this fight standing at all costs. Ysengrin trained long and hard before making his pro debut in the QFC, where he dominated but couldn't finish Fook Man. The 20-year-old Italian is a very well-rounded fighter who has legit top-contender potential, but it all begins here, where he can be expected to look for the takedown to combat Myler's stand-up advantage. If he can get the takedown, he'll win. I've got Ysengrin via submission. #4 Larry The Lobster (4-0) vs #11 Mario "The Red Plumber" Bates (2-0) Featherweight The main card kicks off in full force as two undefeated featherweight between two guys who are on track for a future WC featherweight title shot, it's Larry The Lobster vs Mario "The Red Plumber" Bates! Lobster comes to WC after winning the lightweight FFC title before they closed their doors at the New Year. Since then, the Brazilian has been training hard and switched managers who brought him to WC to attempt another title run. He's got solid ground skills, which has been clearly evident in his 4-0 record as all four wins have come via submission. Bates began his climb to WC featherweight supremacy last month at WC 18 where he TKO'd Julio Cesar Neves in round one of their tilt. The Italian has extraordinary skills and so diverse for a 20-year-old, that no one should be surprised if he's challenging for a title in a few months. Could stay standing or go to the canvas, either way I think Bates is going to win via TKO. #5 Dominic "Demon" Domain (10-1) vs #7 Paul Teixeira (3-0) Featherweight In the second of back-to-back featherweight bouts, WC 21 pits together two guys newer to WC but ready for a title run, its #5 Dominic "Demon" Domain against #7 Paul Teixeira! Domain comes to WC as quite an establish fighter, despite only being a pro for a couple months. He dominated the BFC winning the featherweight title on two separate occasions and successfully defending it five times, before being placed in the BFC Hall of Fame. The stakes are raised here in WC, as new challenges are presently to the Alabama native, as his previously untouchable ground attack will be tested, but he does have big fight experience that surpasses most guys in WC. Teixeira made his WC debut at 'Beat Down' where he put on quite a show in his armbar submission victory of Anthony Placencia. The 20-year-old Brazilian has quite a well-rounded skill set, but has only chosen to take the fights down and submit his opponents so far, but considering Domain's equal abilities on the ground, he may choose to stay standing for the first time in his career. I'll guess Teixeira changes things up and wins via TKO. #5 Drew "Dolladrew" Carvalho (5-0) vs #7 Tyhma "Kuin" Saapas (5-2-1) Heavyweight To that stacked heavyweight division we go as two top-7 guys are ready for that next push up the ultra-competitive ladder that is the heavyweight rankings as current #5 Drew "Dolladrew" Carvalho takes on the #7 ranked Tyhma "Kuin" Saapas! The 5-0 Carvalho makes his debut in WC here at WC 21 after winning and twice successfully defending the heavyweight Combat Purist title with three straight first round TKOs. The Modesto USA native is a pure boxer with some decent wrestling skills to keep the fight standing, but we'll see if just boxing is enough on Saturday. Saapas made his WC and MMA debut at WC 18 with a devastating TKO of Fedor Sambo using a series of viscous elbows. The Finish striker previously fought as a kickboxer while on the Island, but made the switch to MMA with the recent change of managers. Saapas has striking skills to spare, which is why I kind of think he'll take the fight, despite the experience disadvantage, via TKO. #6 Kusi Amuo (6-3) vs #1 Bobby Bob Bob (12-5) Bantamweight In the co-main event of WC 21, the #1 ranked WC bantamweight climbs back into the octagon after falling once again in a title shot as Bobby Bob Bob gets ready for Kusi Amuo! While Amuo comes into this fight as the underdog, he comes in with a lot of momentum after back-to-back WC wins over Rob Mills and most recently a TKO victory of Steven Hofmannat 'Beat Down.' In fact, the Japanese native only has one loss to his name in WC going 4-1 since his WC debut at WC 6, a TKO of Seraphim. A straight up boxer, Amuo has never seen a fight go the distance, with only getting finished on the ground once. Bob is a name that needs no explanation to any WC fan. The Bolivian won the bantamweight belt at WC 10 and successfully defended it once, before losing it to BJ Arnold at WC 14. He was granted another title shot after rearranging Josh Miller's face at WC 17, but fell via decision after a five-round brawl with current WC bantamweight champ Thaddeus Fitzgerald. Still ranked at #1, the 27-year-old wants another crack at the title as soon as possible, and the best way to do that is to destroy Amuo Saturday, something that may be easier said than done. If Bob want to win, he'll need to close the gap to eliminate the boxing abilities of Amuo, and wear him down with his superb Muay Thai skills. In the end, I've got to take the experience of Bob to win via TKO. Featherweight Championship Title Fight [C] "The Real King" Mamad Mouba (12-3) vs #1 Ali "The Headhunter" Roumani (11-2) Featherweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships, together with Big Bear Nutrition present five rounds of action for the WC Featherweight Championship of the World between the current WC featherweight champion, "The Real King" Mamad Mouba and the #1 contender in the WC featherweight division, Ali "The Headhunter" Roumani! These two met back in March to close out the Island season in the Island tournament Finals, where Roumani scored the takedown late in round one and got Mouba to tap one second before the end of round one! If this fight is half as entertaining as their first encounter, no one will be using their seats. Mouba has been the one and only featherweight champion of WC, originally winning the belt back at WC 5 over Koba Boyka. Since that evening, the striker from Senegal has successfully defended the belt five times, including most recently against Derrick Jon at WC 17. At only 18 years-of-age, the sky is the limit for Mouba, but its one fight at a time, and there's none bigger than Saturday against Roumani. Roumani has not fought since that Island tournament final against Mouba, instead focussing on training to make sure that when he gets the belt, he can keep it for a while. A winner of five straight fights and six of seven as a featherweight, the native of Azerbaijan will once again be looking for the takedown and submit the champ once the fight hits the canvas. By all accounts, this will be an awesome rematch, and if I did have to guess, I'd bet on Roumani finally dethroning "The Real King" from the perch he has sat upon for so long via another submission victory. The World Combat Championships is poised to deliver big-time once again, and WC 21: Mouba vs Roumani is simply no different! Ten big fights with so many elite contenders ready for the opportunity to grab a title shot, not to mention the title fight for the WC Featherweight Title! I cannot wait for Saturday night to come around and join the other crazy fans that are sure to pack out Hard Knocks - New York! See you Saturday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  6. WC 20: Look What I Found Preview http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1429696688XATrA.png Ladies and Gentlemen, coming to you live from the Liberty Dome in New York City this Saturday April 25th, the World Combat Championships in conjunction with Big Bear Nutrition presents WC 20: Look What I Found! Headlined by two huge lightweight bouts, WC 20 is stacked full of intriguing match-ups that are sure to keep everyone on their feet! In the main-event, Better "Off" Dead puts his recently claimed WC lightweight championship belt on the line against the current WC welterweight champion Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard, and in the co-main event, Jack Stick returns to the WC octagon aiming to state his case for a shot at the main event winner in his much-anticipated bout against Benny "Brick Breaker" Bishop! Shtaaf Reimish here as always to break down all of the card's fights, so let's get 'em going! #14 Jesus "Zeus" Munchello (0-0) vs #12 Phil Taylor (0-0) Middleweight In the evening's opening bout, two middleweights aim to kick their pro careers off in the right direction as Jesus "Zeus" Munchello gets set to take on Phil Taylor in what is both of their pro debuts! Munchello enters the realm of professional MMA after training his entire life for this moment. Born and raised in Mexico, this boxer is ready to prove to the world he is ready to be a pro, and he may have the right match-up in his debut to do so. Taylor is a young kid ready to use his Muay Thai background to grind his way to a pro debut victory. The New York teenager will want to close the gap on Muchello if he has a chance in this one. My bet is on Munchello winning this one via KO. #14 OZ Icon (1-1) vs #10 William Obi (5-1) Superheavyweight The big boys are the next to enter the octagon as OZ Icon and William Obi get set for a superheavyweight clash! Icon made his WC debut at WC 17 in late March where he won a unanimous decision battle with Sonny Rich. The 23-year-old hometown kid is ready for the stakes to be raised here at WC 20, and he'll look to his remarkable boxing abilities to strike his way to victory. Obi also made his WC debut at WC 17, but he ended up on the other side of an unanimous decision, falling to Remi Mooki. The former superheavyweight QFC tournament champ also has solid boxing skills that will all but ensure this fight stays standing for its duration. Someone will get knocked out, and my guess is Obi will use his fight experience advantage to carve himself a KO win. "Terror" Trev Allen (2-2) vs Josh "Warmaster" Heath" (1-1) Heavyweight The third fight on WC 20's card comes to us via the heavyweight division as struggling "Terror" Trev Allen takes on upstart Josh "Warmaster" Heath"! Allen made his much anticipated WC debut at WC 17, where he got technically knocked out by Fedor Sambo early on in the second round. The Englishman has an amazingly well-rounded repertoire of skills that should help him combat whatever Heath may throw at him. Heath won his WC debut at 'April Fools' with a decision victory over Pdiddy Parker. He prefers to keep the fight standing and box his way to victory, but we'll see if he can keep Allen outside and fully take advantage of his boxing background. My guess is that Allen will look for the takedown all fight long, and when he gets it, he'll win via submission. #10 Marcus "Voodoo" Child (1-0) vs #7 Pavel Datysuk (2-0) Middleweight Two young top-10 middleweights are primed and ready for their bout on Saturday as Marcus "Voodoo" Child takes aim at Pavel Datysuk! Child makes his WC debut here at WC 20, coming off a huge TKO QFC win over Duke Hightower, whom he eliminated via a head kick. He's trained long and hard before appearing in the octagon, and will look to use his well-versed attack to grind out another win to kick off his career. Datysuk made a great first impression to his new employers his first time in WC's octagon, scoring an armbar win over Fredro Star at 'April Fools.' The 25-year-old Russian will surely look once again for a takedown against his Saturday opponent, but may be in tough against his toughest opposition to date. I've got Child winning via TKO. #8 Ville "Toto" Ahokas (5-2) vs #15 "The Cowboy" Conway Jennings (2-1) Bantamweight WC 20's preliminary card concludes with a bantamweight bout between Ville "Toto" Ahokas and "The Cowboy" Conway Jennings in what should be an extremely quick and intense fight! Ahokas is coming off back-to-back losses against two of the top-3 contenders in the WC bantamweight division, Bob and Jaqquard, both coming via unanimous decision. Before that, the hard swinging Finnish teenager reeled off five consecutive wins, so we know he can fight, and fight well. He's been working hard to round out his game, but his prowess and advantage in this fight is still his potent stand-up boxing attack. Jennings has fought three times professionally, all in the QFC, winning them all in the first round via TKO. The 20-year-old Amarillo native is a superb wrestler, getting an early takedown in his last two bouts and striking his opponent motionless from the ground. This should be a great fight. At only 19, Ahokas has the experience advantage, and that, combined with his striking skills, should give him the TKO victory, but it should be close. #10 Shino Ohio (5-2) vs #3 Jackson Ramos (6-3) Featherweight The main card begins with a featherweight bout as #3 Jackson Ramos makes his much-acclaimed WC debut against the defensive specialist Shino Ohio! Ohio made his WC debut at 'April Fools' in grand fashion, winning a full-length battle with Cory Syx unanimously, setting up this bout with Ramos. The American fought decently on the Island as well, going 1-1 with HG and 3-0 in the QFC, with all of his career wins coming via decision. He has solid boxing skills, but lacks the KO power, which leads to his dominance not being rewarded with a finish. Ramos comes to WC after fighting across the pond in Tokyo in the Choke organization. He fought well there, going 5-1 as a bantamweight but 0-1 as a featherweight, and left the organization as their bantamweight champion after his armbar submission victory of James Hartman. The Japanese fighter has ground game to spare in this fight, and if he can get the takedown, he should win this one easily, but he has to get it. When the dust on this one settles, I see Ramos using that big-fight experience to win the bout via submission. #5 Jet Hemi (7-8) vs #7 Josh "Rude" Miller (9-6) Bantamweight Two big-name veteran bantamweights enter the octagon next as Jet Hemi and Josh "Rude" Miller take aim at stabilizing inconsistent yet promising careers! Hemi enters this one losing three straight and eight of his last nine. That being said, we know the former AFL bantamweight champ still has the KO power to end anyone's night early, as was on display at WC 10 in his KO win over Randy Goatboy, but the time is now for his to win again and make that push up the WC rankings. Miller has lost his last two fights, though those both came to former WC bantamweight champs in Arnold and Bob. The 20-year-old Canadian lasted late into round three against Bob in his WC debut at WC 17, but lost via a huge KO punch at 3:37 into the round. For being only 20, the BJJ brown belt has amazing MMA skills, and the sky is the limit for this kid, but a win here is definitely needed to begin that climb into top contender status. I'll take Miller winning it via submission. #4 Doyle "Boiled" Hawk (7-3) vs #5 Hughtavious Mingo (9-3) Light Heavyweight Yes, Doyle "Boiled" Hawk is next to enter the WC 20 octagon as the brash and ever-popular fighter gets set for his next light heavyweight opponent in his ladder climbing mission to the top, Hughtavious Mingo! After back-to-back wins over fellow smack-talking genius Axe MeatsFlesh, Doyle Hawk enters the octagon ready to prove he belongs among the WC light heavyweight elite. After his time as a heavyweight took a turn for the worst in the later period on the Island, the New York native made the drop to light heavyweight, and truly looks poised to make a push for the title. He's got some of the best ground game among the light heavyweights, but his stand-up skills are still in question, which should make this fight interesting. Mingo has fought extremely well throughout his career, including his WC debut at WC 17, where he KO'd Egon Ekkehard midway through the opening round. After making push after push for a title shot with Highland Games on the Island, the West Monroe native is ready to earn his first title fight, which could happen with a decisive victory on Saturday. I think the striker could get it too, which is why my bet's on Mingo winning via KO. #6 Benny "Brick Breaker" Bishop (8-3) vs #3 Jack "StickDeath" Stick (12-4) Lightweight In the co-main event of the evening, WC 20 features the first of two lightweight fights with a bout between Benny "Brick Breaker" Bishop and Jack "StickDeath" Stick! Bishop has been on a tear up the WC lightweight rankings after three straight submission victories here in New York. The latest of his wins came midway through round one of his 'Beat Down' fight with Alex Jokes, setting up the next rung climbing opportunity here with Stick. Bishop, an Israeli native, has won seven of his eight bouts utilizing his dominant ground attack to submit his opponents, so one can assume he'll try to get it to the canvas again here on Saturday. Stick fought primarily in Highland Games on the Island, fighting well to earn him one title shot, which he lost via TKO at the knuckles of Don Kullimanti. The Armenian has some qualities wins to his name, including most notably a KO over current WC lightweight champion Better Dead at HG 41. He won his WC debut at 'Beat Down' over Mathias Matthews via decision, and will look to use his effective ground striking abilities to yet another victory Saturday. This should be an awesome fight, and I'll take Stick to win it via TKO. Lightweight Championship Title Fight © Better "Off" Dead (10-6) vs #1 Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard (17-2) Lightweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships, together with Big Bear Nutrition, presents a battle for the undisputed WC lightweight championship of the world, between the reigning WC lightweight champion, Better "Off" Dead, and the current WC welterweight champion and #1 lightweight contender, Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard! Dead was able to exact revenge on Papa Shango at WC 17 after falling asleep via one of Shango's submissions in the quarter finals of the Island tournament. Last month, the Palau native was taken down early by the former champ in Shango, but after one failed submission attempt and not much further action, the referee stood things up which allowed Dead to land a clean left jab followed by a spinning back fist that rearranged Shango's face as he crumpled to the canvas. At only 20-years-old, the new champ is poised to be an elite WC fighter for a long time, and with his devastating boxing skills that were on full display in his first title fight, he looks poised to retain his belt. The only challenge though, is that he is facing a fighter who has only lost once in his last 18 fights, including six straight title wins. Bullard has done merely everything right since his pro debut loss to Chin Checker in the QFC. His only loss came in the semis of the Island tournament, where he lost to Ska Asap via submission. He was able to get revenge in his first trip back into the octagon, this time here in New York, with a first round TKO victory. he followed that up with another opening round TKO over Shoddy Body at April 8th's 'Beat Down.' He now moves to lightweight, where he has never fought before, to attempt to become the only current fighter to hold two WC belt at the same time. My pick: Bullard via TKO. WC 20: Look What I Found has all the makings of an unforgettable evening of action from the Liberty Dome this Saturday, April 25th, and no true MMA fan will want to miss out! Two WC title holders get set for an epic showdown for the ages with the Dead/Bullard lightweight championship bout at the end of the evening, but WC 20's card is sure to present glorious fights all night long! Get set New York, you never know what you will find at WC 20: Look What I Found! See you Saturday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  7. WC Champ Chat: Tony Bullard http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/42/42w9.jpg I had the pleasure of sitting down with current World Combat welterweight champion Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard as he prepares for his upcoming lightweight title fight against current WC lightweight champ Better Dead. Here it is: Reimish- Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me! How's life been treating you lately? Bullard- Life is good! I have just switched camps making the move to work under the Infamous Ryan Berry at the Boom Boom Room so hopefully you will see new techniques on display on my upcoming fights. Reimish- You made the switch to WC after the AFL folded, how would you describe your time thus far in WC? Bullard- AFL folding was disappointing and I was proud to be their champion. I became the hottest free agent on the Island and WC welcomed me with open arms! Reimish- You had a 15-fight win streak snapped in the semis of the Island tournament by Ska Asap. Was there anything specific that went wrong for you in that fight? Bullard- Everyone knows that fight was a fluke! I have proved I am the better fighter in our four bouts. I removed years off his life by separating him from consciousness 3 times yet he holds my arm and wins? The world knows I didn't tap, the referee made a mistake of a lifetime and handed Asap the win. Reimish- But you were able to exact revenge on Asap at WC 16, defending your WC welterweight crown. How'd that feel? Bullard- There is no better feeling than the feeling of your hand crashing against someone's skull and the sound of them snoring on the canvas. Asap has snored at my feet three times now and each time has been sweet. Reimish- You have been simply unbeatable as a WC welterweight. Why the switch to lightweight? Bullard- Lightweight is my natural weight class, but I will fight anyone, anytime, anyplace and at any weight if the money is right... Reimish- How's the prep for your WC lightweight title fight with current champ Better Dead going? Bullard- Prep is good. He has never fought anyone at my level before so it will be interesting if the pressure gets to him before I do. Reimish- Well, its been a pleasure to chat with you and we look forward to seeing you in action at WC 20 headlined by yourself and Dead down at the Liberty Dome! Anything else you want to say? Bullard- I'm looking forward to the fight, and fans can expect to get their money's worth with yet another first round Bullard finish! It's going to be awesome! Reimish- Thanks a bunch for your time! And there you have it! Another edition of WC's Champ Chat featuring current World Combat welterweight champion Tony Bullard! Stay posted for more interviews from all of WC's champions!
  8. WC: Dirty Boxing 1 preview http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1429494082ne11wwc1.png The boxing ring is set up down at Hayashi's Lounge - New York as the World Combat Championships presents its inaugural event of a newly formed mid-week series, WC: Dirty Boxing 1! While there are no title fights on Wednesday's card, there are a plenty of huge intriguing match-ups including our bantamweight main event between Devin Jaqquard and former WC and HG #1 challenger Derrick Jon! The co-main event features a heavyweight tilt between recent WC signee Chang Pi and former WC heavyweight champion San Terra! Plenty is at stake for all ten fights on the card, so let's get those previews going! #10 Luigi "The Green Plumber" Bates (0-0) vs #11 Cian Cartwright (0-0) Welterweight In all honesty, the opening fight of Dirty Boxing 1 may be a preview of a future welterweight title fight as two young guys make their pro debuts here in the WC, its Luigi "The Green Plumber" Bates (0-0) vs Cian Cartwright! Bates comes to WC via his training base in London where he has been working extremely hard to round out his game, and from reports out of England, he's got one solid game! And the same can be said for Cartwright! The Boise native based out of Hilo has also been working hard for a long time to debut here at Dirty Boxing 1. These two are bar none the best rookie fighters WC has EVER seen! I'm not kidding when I say this may be a future welterweight title fight, and I'll take Cartwright winning it via TKO. "Mean" Gene Oakerland (1-0) vs Arn "The Enforcer" Anderson (0-1) Heavyweight The second fight of the night comes to us from that stacked heavyweight division as "Mean" Gene Oakerland and Arn "The Enforcer" Anderson look to make that step up into the WC top-15! Oakerland makes his sophomore appearance in WC after winning his pro debut via TKO over Ted Dibiase at WC 16. The California teen seems to know where his limits are and doesn't try too much outside of them, which helped him exceed in his first bout. Look for more of the same from Oakerland. Anderson lost his pro debut to Kale Strong via a dramatic superman punch KO back at April Fools earlier this month. The fellow American has a superb ground attack, that if he can take Oakerland down, should be able to put him to sleep. Personally, I think he can do it, which is why my money is on Anderson via submission. #15 Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall (2-3) vs Owen "Mini-Me" Milli (1-0) Bantamweight Next up is a bantamweight bout between two guys looking to knock each other out, its Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall taking on Owen "Mini-Me" Milli! McCall has not had the greatest start to his pro MMA career, going 2-2 in the QFC and losing in the opening round of the Island tournament, but the former amateur boxer looks to turn things around in this his WC debut. The Ireland native has sever knock out power and has been working fervently to round out the rest of his game to bring it up to succeed at the pro MMA level. Milli made his pro debut in the QFC in March, defeating Renzo Jones with a dramatic TKO 2 seconds before the end of round 2. The former rising football star from London looks to keep the good times rolling against the striking phenome McCall, but I can't see it happening. McCall is just too powerful, which is why my money's on him via KO. Brad "Quickie" Schmitt (0-1) vs #11 Jon "Bones" Jones (0-1) Light Heavyweight The fourth fight on Dirty Boxing 1's card is a light heavyweight match between a couple of guys who desperately need a win to kick-start their respective careers, its Brad "Quickie" Schmitt (0-1) vs #11 Jon "Bones" Jones! Schmitt lost his pro debut earlier this month in the QFC, but the American teenager is ready to put that loss behind him in this his WC debut. He's been training hard to fill out his attack, but it still far away from being title worthy, but this may be the perfect fight for him to begin the journey up the ladder. Jones also lost his pro debut back in March, his coming via KO at the knuckles of Jimmy Johnson. He's got a lot of work to do to get anywhere near elite, but everyone has to start somewhere, and both these guys are eager to impress their new bosses with a kick-start win. I've got Schmitt via TKO. #7 Vincent Obi (5-1) vs #8 Jason "The Falcon" Imbert (1-0) Superheavyweight The preliminary card draws to a close with a superheavyweight tilt between a couple of to-10 fighters aiming to make a push to be a legit title contender, its #7 Vincent Obi vs #8 Jason "The Falcon" Imbert! Obi is coming off the first loss of his career, albeit at the hands of a huge name to World Combat: former superheavyweight champ Matt Porcelain Punisher. Before he signed to WC, the UK native dominated his way through a superheavyweight QFC tournament that didn't see one fight reach the second round, so we know he has a magnificent pair of knuckles. This fight is the perfect shot for him to get momentum back on his side as he shoots for his first title shot. Imbert made his pro debut at WC: April Fools, and did not disappoint, TKOing Alexander Norton midway through the first round. The hometown kid knows how to box with the best of them, so this should be as good of a stand-up match as we've seen here in New York! When the dust settles, one man will be on the mat, and I've got Obi KOing Imbert in the opening round. #3 "Raging" Roger Rabago (9-3) vs #13 Kazid "The Boxer" Pro (5-0) Light Heavyweight Dirty Boxing 1 kicks off its main card with a light heavyweight bout between a WC veteran and a WC newcomer, not to mention a battle between the Owner and CEO of WC, its "Raging" Roger Rabago taking on Kazid "The Boxer" Pro! Rabago is coming off back-to-back losses against WC champs, first falling via KO to Skunk Asap and then passing out via a submission to Dieter Von Sprockets in his last bout at WC 16. The San Antonio native will look to get back in the win column against what should be an easier opponent, but one can never underestimate anyone in today's MMA world. The 27-year-old is known for his fists, but he is apparently working hard at his grappling skills to bring them up to pro MMA par. Pro is also a pure boxer who is coming off a run through a QFC tournament, claiming the title over Juan Mora via decision. He's currently undefeated simply because of his amazing defense and solid striking skills, so this has all the fixings to be a great battle! I've got to go with the veteran though: Rabago via TKO. #4 Einar "The Iok" Enkeltmann (8-2) vs #8 Garrick "Off His" Head (4-2) Lightweight A huge lightweight bout is next upon us as Dirty Boxing 1 kicks it up another notch as Einar "The Iok" Enkeltmann gets set to take on recent WC signee Garrick "Off His" Head! Enkeltmann has been on quite a run as of late, winning six of his last seven bouts, including his WC debut at 'April Fools' over Garuda Meow via decision. The Norwegian's only loss in those seven fights was in the Island tournament semi-finals where he fell via opening minute KO at the hands of Zoran Jolevi. The 20-year-old is a master of the ground game, but may be nearly matched there for the first time in his career. Head is making his WC debut here at Dirty Boxing 1, but that does not mean he isn’t an established fighter. The 20-year-old fought five times in Soul Supremacy as a heavyweight, where he won four times, all by (T)KO. The Englishman may prefer the stand-up battle, but that does not mean he is a slouch on the canvas, he just hasn't won a fight there yet. If Head, gets his way, which I think he will, this fight will stay standing as to counter Enkeltmann's weakness, and Head wins via KO. #1 Oleg Bartowski (9-3) vs #2 "Prince" Shoddy Body (10-6) Welterweight A shot at the welterweight title is on the line as the top-two ranked contenders in WC's welterweight division square off for the shot at Tony Bullard and his belt, its #1 Oleg Bartowski vs #2 "Prince" Shoddy Body! Bartowski enters this fight on a bit of a high after his huge win in his New York debut at 'April Fools' over Tim Woods via second round KO. The former WC welterweight champ out of upstate New York will once again look for his fists to do the talking on Wednesday, as well as utilize his solid takedown defense to prevent Body from taking it to the canvas. Body made his return to the welterweight division at "Beat Down' against the current WC welterweight champ Tony Bullard, but fell due to a second minute TKO. before that, Body fought as a middleweight, where he fought in four WC title fights, winning two of them. This is the perfect bounce back opportunity for the 26-year-old, and should he win, it should set up his first title shot as a welterweight. I think Bartowski should be able to keep this fight on its feet, and because of that, my bet's on him winning via TKO. #7 Chang "Fung" Pi (6-1) vs #5 San Terra (13-7) Heavyweight In the co-main event of Wednesday evening, two heavyweights square of in what by all accounts should be a big boy bout for the ages, its WC newcomer Chang "Fung" Pi taking on WC veteran San Terra! Pi joins WC after an extremely successful four-fight run in the USFC, where he went 4-0 but never granted a title fight before being dropped by his manager. He was then scooped up by WC owner JJ Tycooner, and is set to make a run at the WC heavyweight crown. The Thai fighter has a fierce set of knuckles, which have helped him to all six of his career wins thus far, but we'll see if that's enough to defeat his opponent Wednesday. Terra is currently on a three-fight losing streak, albeit all to HUGE names in the heavyweight division. Lazaro, Cross and Offley have all defeated the former WC superheavyweight champ in the last month-and-a-half, but the Poland native is ready to bounce back. He's a straight-up stand-up fighter, who waits and watches for the opening to end his opponent's night, and if he gets through, they'll know! It seems like every fight in the WC heavyweight division is a big fight, but considering where these guys are in their respective careers, this one is enormous! I've got Terra via KO. #3 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard (7-2) vs #1 Derrick Jon (9-3) Bantamweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships in conjunction with Big Bear Nutrition are proud to present a bantamweight battle between two of the top three ranked contenders in WC's bantamweight division, its #3 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard vs #1 Derrick Jon! Jaqquard made a successfully first impression to his new employers in his WC debut, winning a unanimous decision fight over Ville Ahokas to set up this big fight with Jon. The 22-year-old Canadian has had a few off-nights in the octagon in his career, but there will be no chance he comes unprepared to this bout, the biggest of his career. If Jaqquard can keep Jon on the outside and strike him from there, he's got a solid shot at setting up a potential title shot. Jon enters this bout after losing two-straight title fights, first against George Moshington in Highland Games, then the trilogy ending WC headliner against Mamad Mouba at WC 17. The hometown kid has the chance to get yet another shot at Mouba's crown if he can win here, and he can do that by clinching up the Canadian, and using his far superior Muay Thai skills to wear down or even finish off Wednesday's opponent. This is an awesome match-up that we've been waiting for all week! I'll go ahead and take the underdog Jaqquard to win the biggest fight of his career via TKO. There you have it folks, ten amazing WC match-ups that are sure to produce magnificent finishes all night long! With a pair of #1 ranked fighters taking the climb into the ring, in addition to all the other mid-ranked fighters looking to climb the ladder, WC: Dirty Boxing 1 is an event I simply cannot hype up enough! See you Wednesday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  9. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1428853108leadership-challenge.jpg MMA fans from right here in New York City to around the world, the World Combat Championships is pleased to present another evening of jammed packed action from the Liberty Dome this Saturday, April 18th, its WC 19: Top of the World! Two huge title fights headline the evening's card as Ska Asap gets set to defend his recently claimed middleweight title against Billy Tinkl in a rematch from two weeks ago and in the main event, Barney Gumble makes his return to WC to defend his heavyweight crown against current WC superheavyweight champion Skunk Asap! Shtaaf Reimish here as always to break down all of Saturday's action for your viewing and betting pleasure, so lets get 'er going! Ted "Million Dollar Man" Dibiase (0-1) vs Hovon "Shark Bite" Shovon (0-0) Heavyweight WC 19 kicks off with a heavyweight tilt between two young fighters looking to establish themselves as professionals, its Ted "Million Dollar Man" Dibiase vs Hovon "Shark Bite" Shovon! Dibiase made his pro debut at WC's first New York City event, WC 16, where he fell via a late first round TKO at the fists of Gene Oakerland. The fight stayed standing in its entirety, which is preferable for the California native, but he does have some solid wrestling abilities as well if he so chooses to go there. Shovon will be making his pro debut here at WC 19, making the trip across the pond from his base in Amsterdam. The Austrian teenager also has a wrestling background with a secondary boxing skill set, which should make for an even matchup. We'll see who's manager develop the best game plan! I've got Shovon winning his debut via KO. #14 Nicolas "Nico" Gracie (0-0) vs #12 Niklas Kronwall (0-0) Light Heavyweight Next up on Saturday's card, WC presents a light heavyweight bout between two Nicks making their professional debuts here at WC 19, its Nicolas "Nico" Gracie taking on Niklas Kronwall! Gracie has been training hard here in New York in preparation for his pro debut, working extensively on his round game strength. The Poland native has next to no chance if this fights remains standing, but have superb prowess if he can take down his opponent Saturday. Kronwall presents a more well-rounded attack, which could prove useful against Gracie's ground-only mentality. The Stockholm, Sweden native has decent boxing and Muay Thai abilities, which, combined with again a decent takedown defense, give him a significant edge if this fight remains standing. Two rookies going at it, expect the pressure to get to them and have it go the distance. I've got Kronwall via decision. Charlie "Straight Edge" Simpson (1-0) vs #6 Dhal Sim (5-2) Light Heavyweight The third fight of the evening features a young rising star taking on a converted kickboxer in the light heavyweight division, its Charlie "Straight Edge" Simpson vs Dhal Sim! Simpson comes to WC after a one-fight stint in Soul Supremacy where he submitted Josh White in the second round. The teenager from San Francisco is as well-rounded an 18-year-old as I've ever seen, and should be in good form to win his second fight if he can get this one to the canvas. Sim comes to WC after a successful Island kickboxing career that sees him on a current five-fight win streak. In his only MMA fight to date, the Bahamian TKO'd in the first round of a QFC bout by current WC superheavyweight champ Skunk Asap. The 27-year-old has a definite striking advantage that, combined with the 9-year experience advantage, should have him in good shape, if he can keep this fight standing that is. We'll have to wait and see if Simpson can score the takedown before getting knocked out. My guess: he will, and win via submission. #3 Michael "Pitbull" Langhi (6-2) vs #7 Kay Pro (2-0) Superheavyweight WC 19 then heads to the big boys of the superheavyweight division for the first of seven top-10 showdowns on the card, its Michael "Pitbull" Langhi taking on Kay Pro! This is the second stint for Langhi in WC, making his first while still on the Island. He began his career with four straight victories, including a win over Thibault Michel at WC's SPS 1, before falling to Kevin Klobbering Time at SPS 2. The Armenian then chose to participate in the kickboxing Island tournament, where he made the second round with a win over Demetrious Calaway before falling to Roger Pott. He's as pure a boxer as they get, and we'll see if he can score the elusive KO to get his arm raised. Pro is also a boxer by strength, and will look to combat knuckles with knuckles. The LA has two pro fights under his belt, a pair of first round TKOs over Miko Blancia in the QFC. The stakes are sure raised in this one, and we'll see who's boxing abilities are supreme, or if there's any surprises under anyone's sleeve. I'll take Langhi via TKO. #7 "The Crown Prince" Arthas Menethil (4-1) vs #10 CJ "Mile" Stone (8-2) Bantamweight The last fight of the prelims features two bantamweights looking to take that elusive step up the division rankings ladder, its "The Crown Prince" Arthas Menethil vs CJ "Mile" Stone! Menethil enters this fight coming off his WC debut decision win over Jet hemi at WC 17. Before that bout, the American ground specialist spent time in both the Darkness FC and NACF going 4-1 before turning his attention to WC. Menethil's endurance is a proven fact, as four of his five bouts have gone to the third and final round, winning three of the four. He knows how to effectively wear his opponent down before putting them to sleep via submission. Stone enters this bout on a seven-fight winning streak, six of those coming in the QFC. The only non-QFC win of his career came in the NAFC, a submission victory over Michael Kato in an event headlined by Menethil. The Liverpool native owns a purple belt in BJJ that complements his decent wrestling abilities quite well. Expect this fight to head to the canvas sooner rather than later, with someone getting put to sleep before their bedtime. I'll take Menethil via submission, due to quality opponent experience. #3 Arthur "King" Carvalho (8-7) vs #2 Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain (10-5) Middleweight The main card kicks on in grand fashion as two of the top three middleweight contenders get set to do battle in what could be a fight-in bout for the chance to face the Asap/Tinkl winner form later Saturday, its #3 Arthur "King" Carvalho battling #2 Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain! Carvalho makes his return to WC's octagon after winning his WC debut over Buba Harmon at WC 17 via second round Americana submission. The 24-year-old saw his career go up and down during his time on the Island. Fighting in both the AFL and HG, the Brazilian amasses a 7-7 record with six of his wins coming via submission. The switch to WC provides the BJJ brown belt with the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate an inconsistent career and make a run for the title. Hussain is making his first trip into the octagon on the mainland after a decent Island season saw him go 10-5. The Afghani fighter went 5-0 in the QFC to begin his career, before struggling to two straight defeats in the UXC. He then signed with HG where he regained some confidence going 4-2 but surprisingly bowed out of the Island tournament in only the second round with a decision loss to Aleksander Mihaylov. Both these guys are just a fight or two from their first title shots, so it will be interesting to see who rises above to take that next step. I've got Hussain via submission. #1 Jimmie Craig (12-5) vs #8 Gegard "The Dreamcatcher" Mousasi (3-2) Light Heavyweight The #1 ranked light heavyweight takes a stroll up the steps into WC's octagon in the next fight on tap as Jimmie Craig gets set to take on #8 Gegard "The Dreamcatcher" Mousasi! Craig is making his fist trip into the octagon after losing his WC light heavyweight crown to Skunk Asap at WC 16 via a mid-third round TKO. The Canadian first won the belt back at SPS 2 in February from Ben Pulse, and then successfully defended it over Razor MuayThai at WAW 4. The 27-year-old then made the jump up to heavyweight where he lost to Mib Louie before making an impressive run to the fourth round of the Island tournament which included a decision win over former WC heavyweight champ Dick Wad. Craig is primed and ready to return to a title fight, but he can't look past this one. Look for him to keep it standing and look for the KO punch. Mousasi hasn't fought professionally since early October on the Island. He fought five times there, going 3-2, before taking time away from competition to enhance and round-out his game. The Dutch fighter is one of the more well-rounded fighter in WC, and can attack a number of different ways, so it's hard to call where he takes this one, but I'd guess he'll be looking for the takedown. I can't see it happening, however, as I've got Craig winning via TKO and setting up another title shot opportunity. #4 Magnus "Bear" Cross (13-8) vs #10 Ali Mouba (7-6) Heavyweight In what is set to be a greatly significant fight for two heavyweights looking to stabilize their pro MMA careers, #4 Magnus "Bear" Cross and #10 Ali Mouba are ready to do war inside the octagon! Cross is such a veteran of 21 pro fights, despite his age of merely 20-years old. The sky is the limit for the young Aussie after finally defeating San Terra on his third try which earned him KO of the Night for his late first round KO at WC 16. This is Cross' third organization, and he has yet to earn himself a title shot, but stringing a couple win together against top-notch opponents should finally prove rewarding for the Island tournament semi-finalist. Mouba has proven to be quite the streaky fighter over his thirteen-fight career. He opened with four wins, then sank to four losses. Next came three straight wins, followed most recently by two straight losses. The Senegal native will look to turn things around Saturday after hanging around for just over one round against former WC heavyweight champ Dick Wad in his most recent tilt, but I simply can't see him defeating Cross, unless he can clinch him up and catch a lucky break. I'll take Cross winning this one via KO. Middleweight Championship Title Fight © Ska Asap (17-5-1) vs #1 Billy Tinkl (13-5) Middleweight And now, for the co-main event of the evening, the World Combat Championships pits together two fighters vying for the middleweight championship crown facing each other for the fourth time of their pro careers, it’s the champ, Ska Asap taking on the challenger, Billy Tinkl! After back-to-back losses to Tony Bullard in welterweight title fights, Asap decided to move up a weight class and give Tinkl a run for his belt, and it couldn't have ended any more perfect. The Island tournament champion scored a takedown early in round one and probably took the round on the cards after the two of them exchanged submission attempt after submission attempt. Tinkl got the takedown to open up round two, but couldn't fully take advantage as the two again exchanged submission attempts before Asap finally got a Kimura to stick 4:18 into round two. The Djibouti native is poised to repeat and reclaim the middleweight crown after never winning the elusive welterweight belt. This will be Tinkl's thrid fight here in New York after originally defending his belt against Shoddy Body at WC 16. The loss to Asap last time out marked only his second WC loss after his org debut TKO at the hands of Lou Hole. The Congo native has only revenge on his mind, and will have to be focused from the opening bell on as things will be action packed throughout. I wouldn't be surprised if this fight went the distance, but we'll have to wait and see! In what should be a rematch for the ages, I've got Asap defending the belt via decision. Heavyweight Championship Title Fight © Barney Gumble (18-2) vs #1 Skunk Asap (14-3) Heavyweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships along with Big Bear Nutrition presents a fight for the WC Heavyweight Championship Title between the current heavyweight champion, Barney Gumble, and the current WC superheavyweight and former WC light heavyweight champion, Skunk Asap! Gumble makes his much anticipated return to WC after originally securing the title on the Island at Wad vs Gumble on February 18th with a TKO of Dick Wad. After rolling out 18 straight victories to begin his career including 11 title fights, the Springfield native has lost back-to-back fights against Mase Force due to cuts in the Island tournament quarter finals and at HG 64 which cost him his formerly elusive HG heavyweight belt. He makes his return to WC to defend the belt he still owns, but this fight should be another stiff test for the champ. Asap is the former WC light heavyweight champ and still the WC superheavyweight champ, a title he has held since 'The Big Bang' on February 27th. He was on a nine-fight winning streak before falling to Dieter Von Sprockets in his first title defense of his light heavyweight crown at 'Beat Down' earlier this month. The Djibouti native will look to use his amazing striking abilities to counter the previously unattainable striking prowess that was Gumble, and become the first ever 3-division champion of World Combat. This should be a magnificent bout! I've got Gumble picking himself off the mat and ending the losing streak with a TKO of Asap. Well, there you have it folks! Ten huge WC fights that are sure to keep any true MMA fan (and maybe even some others) out of their seats for the duration of the evening, WC 19: Top of the World is sure to entertain from start to finish. From career debut fights to title clinching brawls, the Liberty Dome is the place you will want to be this weekend! See you Saturday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  10. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/24/24w23.jpg I got the chance to sit down with WCC bantamweight contender Devin Jaqquard and we had an awesome conversation about his time as a professional MMA fighter and his upcoming headline fight against Derrick Jon. Enjoy! Reimish - Its good to be sitting down with you, how's life in the World Combat Championships treated you so far? Jaqquard - It’s been great actually. I couldn’t ask for a better home. The owner Mr. Tycooner made me feel wanted from the beginning. He liked my potential and expressed his desire to invest in my career. He’s actually the reason why I opted to fight here in New York, instead of my hometown Montreal. Coming in, I had a lot of expectations partly due to the success WC had in the island, and so far the org has exceeded all of it. One thing I hear about WC before I signed here was that the org is very generous towards its fighters, and I must say, the rumors are really true. Aside from the huge payday there’s more amazing things about the org. Everyone is engaged, the staff is great and very accommodating. Plus the competition gets better every day which means you can’t drag on your training or you’ll get left behind fast. Reimish - You moved around a lot on the Island, fighting fairly well in each of the organizations, how would you explain your smooth transitions from organization to organization? Jaqquard - Well, it’s not always as smooth as it seems. I mean its hard moving around from time to time but one thing I learned to understand over the years is the business aspect of the fight game. You can’t take everything personally. I’ve lost my job over orgs that closed down due to financial troubles or their owners losing interest in the game. My last org had a shift in their priorities towards their future and most of the time you just gotta man up and move on. I do this for the love of fighting and it doesn’t really matter where I end up doing it, as long as I continue to test myself everyday. Reimish - You've been able to win fights a number of ways, 3 (T)KOs, 2 subs and 2 decisions, how would you summarize your game? Jaqquard - I take great pride in the fact that I am a well-rounded fighter. My versatility is definitely one of my best qualities. I mean, this is MMA. You can’t just be good on one or two disciplines. You have to be able to have that chance of winning a fight wherever it goes. I still have long ways to go in reaching my full potential. And admittedly my Muay Thai and BJJ game is not at all where I want it to be at the moment, but I’m working hard everyday just trying to get better. Reimish - Coming to the WCC, you were first given the chance to fight then 5-1 Ville Ahokas whose only loss until that point was against former WCC bantamweight champ Bobby Bob Bob; how did that fight go for you? Jaqquard - It went great for me obviously I won, hahaha. But seriously, I worked my ass of while preparing for that fight. He had crisp hands, KO power and a smooth boxing game, but I had confidence in my stand-up as well. I even managed to sneak in a few hard leg kicks in there which I rarely do. The game plan for him was to continue pressuring him and bring him to deep waters and make him quit. Unfortunately I didn’t get to finish him but I’m very pleased with that performance. I started slow and kinda just felt him out in the first round, try to gage his power and his technique, but after that I had him all figured out. Also, not many people know this but I actually made a rookie mistake of not knowing that I’ll be fighting him for 5 rounds. I just figured it out during the fight itself haha. Luckily those long hours at the gym working on my conditioning payed off and I didn’t gas despite fighting for 5 rounds for the first time in my career. Reimish - Currently ranked at #3 in the WCC's bantamweight division, this upcoming fight against #2 Derrick Jon is a big one for you. Jaqquard - Oh yeah, absolutely. This is my biggest fight against the highest-profile opponent I’ve ever faced so far, and I’m ready for this challenge. I’m hungry especially knowing I’m this close to the top of the mountain in the division. The name Derick Jon rings a bell to a lot of guys, but not many know who Devin Jaqquard is and after this fight, after I make a statement, these people would remember my name. Reimish - Any smack talk you've got for him? Jaqquard - Haha, I know you’d ask that eventually. Same thing I said in the smack talk page. Jon is a great fighter and I respect what he has done so far, he is a young guy like myself but I believe he has already reach the peak of his career and had his chance at the spotlight. Props to him for beating a former champ at a higher weight class but that’s all in the past. The reality now is I am better than him wherever this fight goes. My punches will be crisper and heavier, I’ll be a step quicker and I’ll always be a step ahead of him come fight time. I mean, enough bark I’m just gonna show it to you guys come April 22nd. Reimish - And I'm assuming you're after the title when you're done with Jon? Jaqquard - I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. The fight with Jon is still my number 1 priority at the moment, but of course that’s the ultimate goal of any fighter. To fight for a championship and WIN the strap to be recognized as the best in your weight class. Right now Bob and Fitzgerald are gonna fight for that belt and I wish the best of luck to both men. You guys better watch out, this young Silverback is coming for you. Reimish - Spoken like a class act, I must say. Well, we look forward to seeing your bout with Jon at WC: Dirty Boxing 1 on April 22nd! Good luck to you as you prepare for that fight! Jaqquard - Thank you very much Shtaaf for interviewing me. It’s also been a pleasure to sit down with the best writer in all of MMA TYCOON. To all the fans, I urge you to come see WC: Dirty Boxing 1 on April 22nd. I’ll be headlining the fight with Derick Jon. It’s gonna be a war so don’t miss it. We’re gonna entertain you guys with a good old fashion scrap! Reimish - Thanks a bunch for your time! There you have it folks! Devin Jaqquard: the co-headliner of April 22nd's WC: Dirty Boxing 1 along side his dancing partner Derrick Jon! After chatting with him, I'm looking forward even more to that fight! Hope to see you there!
  11. WC 18: Bob vs Fitzgerald preview Ladies and Gentlemen, the World Combat Championships together with Big Bear Nutrition presents an event live at Hard Knock - New York on Sunday, April 12th, its WC 18: Bob vs Fitzgerald! The Bantamweight title is on the line as Bobby Bob Bob and Thaddeus Fitzgerald get set to battle it out in Sunday's main event! The co-main event features two top-contenders in the WCC's heavyweight division as Mib Louie and Dick Wad enter the octagon looking for that signature win to set up a title shot! Shtaaf Reimish here as always to break down all of this weekend's action, so let's get 'er going! #12 Jake "Strangler" Ibarra (1-1-1) vs #7 Ionnis Markakis (1-0) Middleweight WC 18 opens up with a middleweight clash between two fighters looking to take that next step up the division's rankings, its Jake "Strangler" Ibarra vs Ionnis Markakis! Ibarra fought a couple times with the Highland Games (1-1-1) while on the Island, but after being dropped by his former manager wen for a change of scenery and signed with the WCC. The Filipino has seen all of his fights go the distance, and has no preference between the on the canvas or standing up, so we'll have to wait and see how he fights this one. Markakis is also making his WCC debut in this one after winning his pro debut via fist round submission in the QFC. The 23-year-old Greek is also quite well-rounded, so its anyone's guess where this one will go. I'll go with Markakis via decision. #4 Kurt "Show Bow" Kiwi (2-0) vs #7 Jimmy Howard (1-0) Welterweight The second fight on tap is a welterweight bout between two fighters making their WCC debuts after succeeding in the QFC, its Kurt "Show Bow" Kiwi taking on Jimmy Howard! Kiwi comes to the WCC after reeling off back-to-back first round TKOs in the QFC to begin his career. He's been quite an interesting figure in the smack talk scene, but we'll see if he can keep his mouth shut long enough to do some more damage with his fists now that he's in the WCC. Howard is also debuting in the WCC after just one QFC fight, a first round TKO over Russell Palmer. The hard swinging New Yorker has a solid wrestling background, but we'll see if he uses it in what will most likely be a stand-up affair. I've got Show Bow taking it via TKO. #8 Mario "The Red Plumber" Bates (1-0) vs #5 "Morceguino" Julio Cesar Neves Jr. (2-1) Featherweight Next up, WC 18 heads to the 145 pound classification as Mario "The Red Plumber" Bates makes his long anticipated return to the octagon against "Morceguino" Julio Cesar Neves Jr! Bates comes to the WCC via London, where the Italian has been training hard in preparations for his MMA career. The BJJ brown belt last fought way back in September, but expect rust not to be an issue, simply due to his simply amazing abilities in the cage. Neves Jr has also been training hard for the majority of his career. After two QFC victories on the Island, the fellow BJJ brown belt fell in the opening round of the Island tournament, and will look to reinvigorate his promising career in the octagon Sunday. Expect this fight to see a bit of ground action in it, but I've got Bates taking it via TKO. #10 Marco De Los Santos (2-0) vs "Lumberjack" Jeff Messer (1-0) Heavyweight A couple of young heavyweights are the next to climb up into the octagon as Marco De Los Santos and "Lumberjack" Jeff Messer get set to do battle in what should prove to be a significant win for whoever gets their hand raised when its over! De Los Santos comes to the WCC after two Island QFC victories placed him in a solid groove, believing he can defeat anyone. The stakes get raised here in his first WCC fight, but with the Brazilian's ground attack as well as decent striking abilities that can catch anyone off guard, he should be in good shape to keep it rolling. Messer is as pure a boxer as they come. The American has some natural knock out power combined with a much improved takedown defense, that should make him a tough fighter to beat for anyone. He dominated his first and only pro bout, but was unable to finish Riley Woods off, and took it on the cards. I don't see this one going the distance though, as I've got De Los Santos putting Messer to sleep via submission. #6 Jordan "Jack" Ellis (4-2) vs #8 John Smith (7-1) Lightweight The last fight of the prelims comes to us via the lightweight division as Jordan "Jack" Ellis and John Smith look for the win to push them to top-5 contender status! Ellis began his career on a four-fight win-streak, but saw that erased with back-to-back losses to Jimmy Etherington in the Island tournament and Benny bishop at WC 16. The 25-year-old American will look to rebound back into the win column with a win here using his devastating Muay Thai skill set that can end anyone's night early. Smith has been an amazing fighter thus far in his career, albeit against slightly lesser opponents. He built up his record in the QFC and RioFC, only losing once, a RioFC title fight to Lee Sin. The tough Canadian has won most of his fights via (T)KO, but does have a purple belt in BJJ, which he could utilize Sunday to combat Ellis' ground weakness. This fight should be a good battle, and I'm taking Smith to get the takedown and finish Ellis off via submission. #11 Tyhma "Kuin" Saapas (4-2-1) vs #9 Fedor "Stunna" Sambo (5-3) Heavyweight We kick of the main card of WC 18 with another heavyweight tilt that is sure to end early, its Tyhma "Kuin" Saapas vs Fedor "Stunna" Sambo! Saapas comes to New York and the WCC after spending his entire career thus far as a kickboxer in PRIDE KT on the Island where he racked up a 4-2-1 record. The Finish striker will have to adapt quickly to the differences MMA can hold as he makes his first trip into an octagon on Sunday. Sambo is no rookie when it comes to MMA or the WCC for that matter. The Russian made his pro debut back at WC 4 and has fought well, but has been unable to put a decent run of wins together to push for a title shot. The winner of this stand-up battle could be two wins away from a shot, but it all begins Sunday. I've got Saapas in this one, simply due to his striking background, against his stand-up counterpart via KO. #11 Bruce Brady (0-1) vs #8 Opananu Milan (1-1) Middleweight Next up, two middleweights take center stage in what should be a highly entertaining affair as Bruce Brady makes his return to fight action against Opananu Milan! Brady lost his pro MMA debut last September, but has been training his ass off in preparation for this, his WCC debut, and boy does he look to be in great form! The New York native now trains in London and has developed such an amazing well-rounded attack, he should be in great form to push up the middleweight rankings toward a title shot. Milan made his WCC debut back at WC 13 on the Island, where he fell via submission to Borhan Khan. The Aussie has a potent Muay Thai skill set that could end anyone's night early if they lose focus. Brady has much more to fight for here, and, added to his superior skill set, I see him taking this one via submission. #1 Papa Shango (12-6) vs #9 Grant "The Sensational" Knight (2-2) Lightweight The top lightweight contender is one of the next two fighters into WC 18's octagon as Papa Shango looks to rebound after losing his recent title shot against #9 ranked Grant "The Sensational" Knight! Shango is a veteran fighter of 18 professional bouts with both the AFL and WCC, including a title fight in both divisions. His WCC lightweight shot came last time out, losing via first round KO to Better Dead at WC 17 for the lightweight belt. The Somalian is still ranked #1 in the WCC lightweight division, and will look to earn another title shot shortly with a win here using his sensational ground game. Knight has fought his entire short career in the USFL where he went 2-2. The Irish-born, Helsinki-based fighter will look to keep this fight standing at all costs to combat Shango's ground attack with his own solid boxing abilities. Still, I can't see the #1 contender not getting the win here, and I've got him winning via submission. #3 Mib "Home Run" Louie (13-5) vs #2 Dick Wad (10-3) Heavyweight In the co-main event of the evening, the WCC pits together two of the top-3 ranked contenders in the ultra-competitive heavyweight division, its #3 Mib "Home Run" Louie vs #2 Dick Wad! Louie has had quite a career already since the Island season began. He fought ten times in Highland Games, going 8-2 which includes losing his one title shot against current WCC heavyweight champ Barney Gumble. The Canadian Muay Thai specialist is coming off back-to-back TKO losses to Pedro Lazaro in the Island tournament and at WC 16, and will look to rebound here with another huge test in the former WCC champ Wad. Wad was the first ever heavyweight champ of the WCC, winning the belt back at WC 2 and defending it three times before eventually falling to Gumble. That loss began a string of three losses in five fights, but after winning in his last trip to the octagon at WC 17 over Ali Mouba, the fellow Canadian will look to use his dominant striking skills to set up another shot at the WCC heavyweight title. This fight will most definitely be one for the ages, and I'll take Louie via TKO. Bantamweight Championship Title Fight #1 Bobby Bob Bob (12-4) vs #2 Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald (8-5) Bantamweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships, in conjunction with Big Bear Nutrition, present a battle for the recently vacated WCC Bantamweight Title, it’s the former champ and current #1 Bobby Bob Bob taking on the #2 ranked Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald! Bob is looking for the title he once owned back before losing it to Arnold at WC 14 via a huge decision. Since that loss, the Bolivian has reeled of back-to-back WCC wins over Xyd and Miller to put him back in contention to fight for the vacated crown. His striking skills are second to none in the WCC's bantamweight division, and his takedown defense is superb, but will it be enough to defeat the ever- persistent Fitzgerald. Speaking of Fitzgerald, this is the New York City native's first trip into the octagon here on his home soil. His Island season ended a bit sooner than he had hoped with a second round submission loss to Renato Laranja, but this title shot should have him eager to prove that was a mere blip on his resume. The hard striking 26-year-old has no problem going the distance if that's what is needed, but he does have the ability to end anyone's night early if presented the opportunity as well. This should be a great fight for the WCC bantamweight title. I'll go ahead and take the former champ, Bob, getting the belt back via decision. MMA Tycoon fans in New York and around the world will not want to miss this event! With the bantamweight title on the line and many other huge rankings implicating fights, WC 18: Bob vs Fitzgerald is an event you will not want to miss! I'll be settled in my seat when the action begins Sunday! Will you? Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  12. WC Fight Night: Beat Down preview Coming to you live from the Liberty Dome in the bright lights of New York City, the World Combat Championships together with Big Bear Nutrition presents a mid-week event that is primed to entertain, its WC Fight Night: Beat Down! Two title fights grace the octagon Wednesday as Billy Tinkl and Skunk Asap put their middleweight and light heavyweight crowns on the line against top challengers Ska Asap and Dieter Von Sprockets respectively. The card is headlined by a non-title fight between WCC welterweight champ Tony Bullard and the newly transformed welterweight Shoddy Body! 10 fights are ready to excite, lets get the previews rolling! #6 Kusi Amuo (5-3) vs #9 Steven "Die Klappershlange" Hoffman (2-1) Bantamweight First up on Wednesday's card is a bantamweight battle between two top-10 fighters, its Kusi Amuo taking on Steven "Die Klappershlange" Hoffman! Amuo is making his first trip into the WCC's New York octagon after going 3-1 in their Island tenure. The Japanese boxer made a quick exit in the Island tournament getting first round TKO'd by Kip Ruell in the first round of the tournament, but is looking forward to rebounded back in the confines of the WCC. Hoffman never fought on the Island, instead beginning his career in Hilo, where he made the second round of TWGC and fought briefly in both the EMMA and HCF. The well-rounded German looks to make a home in WCC, but will need to combat Amuo's fists if he stands a chance at climbing the rankings. I like Amuo in this one via KO. #9 "The Lone Wolf" Kalv Milli (1-0) vs #8 Dean "The Spider" Kane (1-0) Welterweight The second fight of Beat Down's card comes to us from the welterweight division as two young fighters look to build on pro debut victories, its "The Lone Wolf" Kalv Milli vs Dean "The Spider" Kane! Milli is making his second trip into the pro octagon and first in the WCC. The 21-year-old London native won his debut via decision in the QFC, and will look to build on that early momentum with his well-rounded attack as he continues his rise up the MMA food chain. Kane is also making his sophomore appearance in the octagon after a QFC decision win. The teenager from Kentucky is a pure boxer, but has been working on his takedown defense to ensure this one doesn't expose his weak ground game. Should make for an interesting fight with two young guys looking to impress early. I've got Dean via KO. #3 Paul Teixeira (2-0) vs #4 Anothony "Showtime" Placencia (3-4) Featherweight Next up we have a featherweight bout from the featherweight division as Paul Teixeira and Anthony "Showtime" Placencia look to potentially be the next in line to fight for the belt! Teixeira has been training hard heading into this fight, his first outside of the QFC. The 20-year-old Brazilian is simply one of the most well-rounded fighters in the WCC, and on top of that, dominates almost anyone on the canvas showing off his brown BJJ belt. A win here may be all he needs to earn his first title shot of his young career. Placencia is a name familiar to WCC fans, but he has not performed well with the organization. Going 1-4 since joining the WCC, the Milwaukee native may be at a cross-roads in his career if he loses this one. he has a decent ground game, but I really don't think decent will be enough versus the ground wizard in Teixeira. I can't see this one going any other way than Teixeira via submission. #4 Benny "Brick Breaker" Bishop (7-3) vs #11 Alex "The Messenger" Jokes (1-0) Lightweight The fourth fight Wednesday night features two lightweights in different stages of their respective careers, its Benny "Brick Breaker" Bishop vs Alex "The Messenger" Jokes! Bishop is making a quick turn-around after his most recent fight at WC 16, a first round submission victory over Jordan Ellis. The ground specialist Israeli is really hoping that his recent back-to-back wins is the beginning of some consistency again as he continues his push up the WCC lightweight ladder. Jokes is making his WCC debut here at Beat Down. The 21-year-old from England made his pro debut in the QFC where he submitted Brian Cardenas via a triangle armbar midway through the second. He's got some decent ground game, but I really think he's outmatched in this fight due to the experience of Bishop. I'll take Bishop via submission. #5 Doyle "Boiled" Hawk (6-3) vs #6 Axe "Repeatedly" MeatsFlesh (3-3) Light Heavyweight The last fight of the preliminary card needs no introduction as two of the most brash smack-talking fighters of the WCC get set for a rematch of their WC 16 encounter, its Doyle "Boiled" Hawk vs Axe "Repeatedly" MeatsFlesh! Hawk got the better of MeatsFlesh in their first meeting, rebounding from two straight loses to earn the first round kimura submission victory. The New York City native got the takedown he was looking for in the opening minute, and just wore down his opponent using his brown BJJ belt with submission attempt after submission attempt until he finally got one to stick 2:56 into the fight. MeatsFlesh did a decent job in the opening minute of the fight to use his far superior striking abilities, but was unable to defend against Hawk's first takedown attempt. The fellow American is currently on a two-fight losing streak, but will look to keep this fight standing at all costs to give him a shot at ending the streak. The animosity between theses two combined with the ranking climbing potential that a win here may present makes this fight ultra-intriguing. I've got MeatsFlesh getting the KO before getting taken down, setting up a potential trilogy ending fight! #2 Jack "StickDeath" Stick (11-4) vs #10 Mathias "Matticus" Matthews (4-3) Lightweight We begin the main card with two lightweight veterans making their WCC debuts, its Jack "StickDeath" Stick taking on Mathias "Matticus" Matthews! Stick made quite a name for himself in Highland games while on the Island, fighting his way up to a title fight which he lost via first round TKO to former HG champ Don Kullimanti. His resume includes an impressive first round KO of current WCC lightweight champion Better Dead at HH 41. The Armenian is a feared ground gamer with a super-impressive wrestling attack. His striking are unproven, but if he can get his opponent down early, it will be over early. Matthews is made a name for himself in both the QFC and since defunct RFC going 4-3 to begin his career. The Englishman is fairly well-rounded and has no problem going the distance as we've seen in three of his wins. If he can keep this fight standing, he's got a good shot at winning. However, I can't see that happening and have Stick winning via submission. #1 Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley (12-3) vs #4 San Terra (13-6) Heavyweight WC Fight Night: Beat Down takes it up a notch as two top-ranked heavyweight square off for the chance to be the next challenger in line to face WCC heavyweight champ Barney Gumble, its #1 Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley vs #4 San Terra! Offley fought extremely well on the Island, earning two separate title shots in the UXC and HG, but didn't manage to win either of them. The only other loss to his name came in the second round of the Island tournament where he met Magnus Cross' fists early and often. Other than those three bouts, Offley has been lights out, literally. The submission artist has put eleven different fighters to sleep with his feared ground game and the Bahamian will look to do the same with Terra on Wednesday! Speaking of his opponent, Terra is a veteran among WCC fighters. He debuted way back at WC 1 where he became the first ever WCC superheavyweight champ before eventually making the switch down to heavyweight. The native of Poland has hit a patch of inconsistency lately, including a late first round TKO loss to Magnus Cross at WC 16 in his last fight. However, the hard-swinging 27-year-old may be in line for a title shot if he can defeat his counterpart Wednesday. I can't see it happening though, as I've got Offley via submission. Middleweight Championship Title Fight © Billy Tinkl (13-4) vs #1 Ska Asap (16-5-1) Middleweight After trading title wins as welterweights in the AFL, Billy Tinkl and Ska Asap get set for the trilogy ending rematch for the World Combat Championship middleweight crown! Tinkl is no stranger to title fights, this being his seventh such fight, including three in each the AFL and WCC. After a strong beginning of his career as a welterweight, he moved up a division to middleweight where he has only his weight class debut loss to his name. He first won the title at 'the Big Bang' over Shoddy Body, then successfully defended it against Body at WC 16. The submission artist from Congo has won all 13 of his wins via submission and will once again look to take this title fight down to the canvas if he truly wants to retain the belt. Asap makes his debut as a middleweight here at 'Beat Down' after spending his entire career until this point as a welterweight. The former AFL welterweight champ lost his chance at the WCC welterweight belt twice to Tony Bullard and is now being given the chance at the middleweight crown. The Brazilian Jui Jitsu brown belt knows his way on the canvas as well, which is where he grappled his way to welterweight Island tournament crown. This fight WILL hit the canvas, and when it gets there, its anyone's guess who takes it. My guess, Asap via submission. Light Heavyweight Championship Title Fight © Skunk Asap (14-2) vs #2 "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets (9-3) Light Heavyweight In the co-main event of the evening, the World Combat Championships pits two dominant light heavyweights together for the WCC light heavyweight championship belt, it’s the Champion, Skunk Asap, taking on the Challenger, "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets! Asap has been on an absolute tear recently including becoming the first ever two-division belt-holder in WCC history with both the light heavyweight and superheavyweight crowns as well as claiming the Island tournament championship as a superheavyweight. All in all, its been nine straight victories for the 27-year-old Djibouti native. The Muay Thai specialist claimed the light heavyweight crown at WC 16 with his third round TKO of former WCC champ Jimmie Craig and will now look to make his first title defense of his still young career. Von Sprockets earned his first title shot as a member of Highland Games, but fell to LightHeavy Weight, before making the switch to the WCC. The German has faired well thus far in the WCC earning this title shot after his most recent win over #4 Roger Rabago via third round submission at WC 16. There's a lot of unknown as to how this fight will go, but when the dust settles, I can't see Asap losing his light heavyweight crown just quite yet. I've got Asap via TKO. © Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard (16-2) vs #2 "Prince" Shoddy Body (10-5) Welterweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships, together with Big Bear Nutrition presents a non-title welterweight battle between the current WCC welterweight champion, Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard and current #2 welterweight "Prince" Shoddy Body! Bullard is a name that is extremely familiar to all WCC fans, as he's been as dominant a force in the organization as any, and will look to keep things rolling here against Body. The 27-year-old Icelander had a fifteen-fight win-streak going on the Island before it was ended in the Island tournament by the #1 challenger in the WCC's welterweight and middleweight division Ska Asap. Bullard was able to exact revenge upon their arrival to New York, defeating his rival via an opening round TKO in their fourth ever meeting. Body makes his way into this fight after losing back-to-back fights for the WCC middleweight crown to Billy Tinkl. The former middleweight champ, Body, is fighting in his first non-title fight in six bouts, and will look to earn one back with a win here. The 26-year-old American has won all ten of his fights via submission, so expect him to take this one to the canvas if he has any sniff at defeating the champ. I can't see the fight getting there, however, as I've got Bullard defeating Body via TKO. Well MMA Tycoon fans, after a couple of weeks to figure things out here in New York City, it appears the top is about to blow off! The World Combat Championships is ready for an absolutely magnificent display of Mixed Martial Arts that will have everyone out of their seats for the duration of the evening! I can't wait to be cage-side for WC Fight Night: Beat Down! See you Wednesday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  13. WC Fight Night: April Fools preview The World Combat Championships presents its first midweek fight card in New York City this Wednesday down at Hard Knocks - New York, its "WC Fight Night: April Fools!" Two former WCC champions, Matt Porcelain Punisher and Oleg Bartowski grace the evenings card as #1 ranked fighters looking for another title shot along with a huge amount of young talent looking to make early impressions on WCC owner JJ Tycooner. There's everything from title shots and good career starts on the line, so it should be a great evening of action! Shtaaf Reimish here as always to preview all of the evening's matchups, so lets get 'er going! Kale Strong (0-0) vs Arn "The Enforcer" Anderson (0-0) Heavyweight First up on Wednesday's card is a heavyweight bout between to guys making their professional debuts, its Kale Strong vs Arn "The Enforcer" Anderson! Strong has trained his entire life for this moment, his first professional MMA bout! The 17-year-old Canadian has phenomenal striking abilities for not only his age, but compared veteran strikers in the WCC. He's also been training hard on his takedown defense, so expect him to attempt to keep this fight standing. Anderson, however, is a ground game specialist. The American owns a brown belt in BJJ and has a solid wrestling background as well, so he'll be looking early and often for the takedown. I can't see him being able to get the takedown, however, before meeting one of Strong's devastating knuckles. I'll take Strong via KO to kick of the night! #8 Shino Ohio (4-2) vs #6 Cory "The Producer" Syx (1-0) Featherweight April fools sheds a few pounds for the next matchup as two top-10 featherweights, Shino Ohio and #6 Cory "The Producer" Syx take to the octagon for our seconds fight of the evening! Ohio is making his WCC debut here at Aprils Fools, after fighting briefly in the QFC and HG on the Island. The 21-year-old never was really able to fully implant himself as a legitimate title contender, and is hoping a fresh start will help him take that next step. Syx comes to the WCC after a one-fight stint in the London QFC where he TKO'd Mitch Castro early with a series of devastating strikes. Its hard to tell where the Englishman may choose to take this fight considering his spread of abilities, so this should be an intriguing fight If nothing else. I see it going the distance, and Ohio taking it on the cards. #15 Pdiddy "The Punisher" Parker (0-0) vs Josh "Warmaster" Heath (0-1) Heavyweight Two more young heavyweights get set for battle in the next fight as Pdiddy "The Punisher" Parker and Josh "Warmaster" Heath get set for their WCC debuts! Parker is making his pro MMA debut here at April Fools, and will look to make an early statement that he means business to his new employers. The Georgia native has solid Muay Thai skills that he'll look to use to wear down his opponent Wednesday. Heath has bar none the sickest afro in the WCC, but he also hopes he has much more to state his case he belongs in professional MMA. After a pro debut QFC submission loss to Tristan Gaines, the Helsinki-based American hopes to turn things around sooner than later to place his career in an upwards trajectory. I can't see it happening however, as I've got Parker winning via TKO. Mike Jursllla (1-0) vs #14 Bobby "RUDE 1" Rude (0-0) Heavyweight We stay with the heavyweights for our fourth fight on April Fools' card with Mike Jursllla and Bobby "RUDE 1" Rude taking the climb into the octagon at Hard Knocks - New York! Jursllla enters this bout with just one professional fight to his record, a three round decision win over Samanths Biktakos in the QFC. The Swedish teenager has been polishing his craft for quite some time now and will look to use his well-balanced attack to his advantage Wednesday in the octagon. Rude is making his pro MMA debut after spending some time in a regional pro wrestling circuit. We'll have to see if that has any influence on his fight this week, but the local kid may have to lean on the hometown support if he has any chance against his solid opposition. I've got Jursllla via TKO. #10 Jason "The Falcon" Imbert (0-0) vs #7 Alexander "Xenomorph" Norton (0-2) Superheavyweight The last fight of the preliminary card features the big boys of the WCC Superheavyweight division as Jason "The Falcon" Imbert and Alexander "Xenomorph" Norton look to take a step in the right direction in the ever-competitive superheavyweight division! Imbert makes his first ever trip into an octagon Wednesday in this, his pro debut. The knuckle-swinging New Yorker will have the hometown support, but with a amazing boxing attack added to some decent takedown defense, this guy may not need it. Norton is looking to re-establish his career after losing his first two pro bouts in the QFC. The California native is also a solid boxer, but really lacks the takedown defense and ground game, which has been his demise thus far in his career. If this fight stays standing, he may pose a chance. Still, I'll take Imbert via submission. #5 Fredro "I Got You" Star (0-0) vs #6 Pavel Datysuk (1-0) Middleweight The main card kicks off with two young promising middleweight contenders as #5 Fredro "I Got You" Star and #6 Pavel Datysuk look to prove they belong in the WCC middleweight elite! Star will look to use any advantage the hometown crowd may give him to help calm the nerves in his first pro MMA bout. The 25-year-old New Yorker has some solid striking skills while standing, but his ground game is yet untested. Datysuk makes his way to the bright lights of New York via Moscow Russia, where he grew up and learned how to swing the fists. He's got some serious ground game, and may be the next young kid to make the rise to supremacy in the WCC's middleweight division. Should be a great fight between two promising fighters! I'll take Datysuk via submission. #3 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard (6-2) vs #6 Ville "Toto" Ahokas (5-1) Bantamweight In the first of four veteran match-ups on April Fools' card, the WCC brings together two of the top bantamweight fighters looking to make that final push to be the next title challenger, its #3 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard taking on #6 Ville "Toto" Ahokas! Jaqquard comes to the WCC after a solid Island season in both the AFL and HG before bowing out early in the season finale first round. The Canadian built an impressive resume including both KO and submission wins, but after that shocking first round loss to Jacob Naankuse via first round submission, it will be interesting to see how he responds. Ahokas sprinted out to a 5-0 start to his career, but unfortunately ran into former WCC bantamweight champ Bobby Bob Bob in the Island tournament second round to give him his first pro loss. The Finish boxer has solid stand-up skills, and combined with a crafty takedown defense, makes him a challenging puzzle for even the best fighters. I'll take Jaqquard via submission. #3 Einar "The Iok" Enkeltman (7-2) vs #6 Garuda "Furball" Meow (7-3) Lightweight Two top-ranked lightweights are the next to step into the octagon as Einar "The Iok" Enkeltman and Garuda "Furball" Meow look to supplant themselves among the WCC elite! Enkeltman comes to New York after an extremely successful Island season that saw him excel in Highland Games before grappling his way to a semi-final showing in the Island tournament. Simply put, the Norwegian does not lose a fight if it hits the canvas. His brown BJJ belt combined with amazing wrestling abilities makes him almost unbeatable in a grapple-fest. Meow has only fought in Gamasi Fighting Company thus far in his career, amassing a solid 7-3 record that included winning the G-Co lightweight belt and successfully defending it once before eventually losing it to Joe Malenko. The American may be the fighter to defeat Enkeltman on the canvas, as the 20-year-old has an amazing ground resume as well, but also has under-respected striking abilities that may cause problems for the Norwegian. Should be an interesting fight for these two WCC debutants. I'll take Enkeltman taking it again on the canvas via submission. #1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher (15-2) vs #3 Vincent Obi (5-0) Superheavyweight In the co-main event of the evening, former WCC superheavyweight champ and current #1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher aims to get his mojo back on track against a young up-and-coming star and current #3 Vincent Obi! Punisher is as well known as any to WCC fans. The LA native won the inaugural superheavyweight title and then successfully defended it five times before finally falling to Skunk Asap in the WCC's final Island event. The Rio-based MPP only made it as far as the second round in the Island tournament, which should add even more fuel to the fire as he looks to rebound back into a title fight against Asap or however else has the belt when the time comes. Obi is coming off an impressive QFC tournament win that saw him knock off all 4 fighters he saw via (T)KO. The natural boxer from London may have the upper hand while standing with MPP, but will most likely have trouble if it does go to the canvas simply due to lack of experience. MPP will be hungry for a title shot, but Obi's striking abilities has me believing! Obi via KO. #1 Oleg Bartowski (8-3) vs #2 Tim Woods (9-2) Welterweight And now, for the main event of the evening, the World Combat Championships together with Vikai Gear presents a battle between the top-2 welterweight contenders for the next crack at current champ Tony Bullard, its former WCC welterweight champion Oleg Bartowski taking on perennial WCC bridesmaid Tim Woods! Bartowski enters this fight looking to regain form after falling back in the rankings and slowly beginning the trek back to his current #1 challenger status. A second round Island tournament exit was not the showing the Buffalo native was looking for, but he'll look to keep his two-fight WCC win streak alive and set up a potential title fight against Tony Bullard with a win here Wednesday. Woods is also a name that needs introduction to WCC fans. Debuting at WC 1, the New York native has amassed a 6-2 WCC record, but has always fallen a fight short of a title shot. Wednesday, he'll have another chance, and he should have a fairly good crack at it. The 26-year-old has far-superior Muay Thai abilities, so if he can clinch this one up, he should be in line for a shot at Bullard. I know its won and lost in the octagon, but if I had to pick, I've got Woods via TKO. There's a lot of great young WCC talent on display this Wednesday that should make for an interesting evening of action, never mind the title shot implications of our main-events! Every fighter that climbs into the octagon at 'April Fools' has the WCC championship belt in their sights, some are just closer than others, which is what makes the fun! I can't wait to take my seat cage-side at Hard Knocks - New York of Wednesday! See you there! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
  14. http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1426752390wc17.png Its another huge evening of action-packed MMA entertainment as the World Combat Championships together with Vikai Gear presents its second New York City fight card, its WC 17: Mouba vs Jon 3! Two title fights are on the card headlined by the featherweight championship between Mamad Mouba and Derrick Jon and co-headlined by a tilt for the currently vacant lightweight crown between Papa Shango and Better Dead! Shtaaf Reimish here as always to break down all of Saturday's bouts, so let's get 'er going! #11 OZ Icon (0-1) vs #8 Sonny "Steamin" Rich (0-0) Superheavyweight WC 17's card kicks off with a superheavyweight tilt between two young fighters looking to make an early impression on their new bosses, its OZ Icon vs Sonny "Steamin" Rich! Icon comes into this fight with just one pro bout under his belt, a QFC loss to Diabolical Denubis, but will look to rebound here in his WCC debut. The 23-year-old hometown kid has a devastating pair of knuckles and knows how to use them. Rich is making his pro debut here at WC 17 and is looking for that dream beginning that includes a victory. The native of Philadelphia doesn't have to travel far from home for the fight either, and will look to utilize his superior Muay Thai skill set to wear down his opponent Saturday. I've got Icon via KO. #10 Fedor "Stunna" Sambo (4-3) vs #11 "Terror" Trev Allen (2-1) Heavyweight The second fight on tap pits two under ranked heavyweights into the octagon together to see who is ready to take that next step, its Fedor "Stunna" Sambo vs "Terror" Trev Allen! Sambo has been with the WCC since WC 4 back on the Island, but has never really seen his career take off in the trajectory he wanted it to. After going 3-2 in season, he survived the first round of the Island tournament with a KO of Brad Lee before bowing to the WCC's own Mib Louie in the second round. The Russian has an amazing knockout punch, but we'll have to see how effective it will be against his much taller opponent Saturday. Allen has only previously fought in the QFC, but has taken his time developing into what should be a great fighter of the future. He's got such an amazingly well-rounded repertoire that he truly can combat most things his opponent's throw at him. The Englishmen is coming off a TKO loss, so expect one hungry beast when the bell sounds on Saturday. I've got Allen via TKO. #6 William Obi (5-0) vs #4 Remi Mooka (4-1) Superheavyweight Next up we have a recent QFC tournament winner making his first WCC appearance against a WCC veteran, as William Obi takes on Remi Mooka! Obi is coming off an impressive QFC tournament championship run that saw him go 4-0 brutalizing his opponents with his viscous fists. The 23-year-old Brit has won every fight in the first round, and has shown how to dominate the QCF as a boxing specialist. It will be interesting to see how he fairs in the more competitive world of the WCC. Mooka is a WCC veteran, making his pro debut back at WC 3, going 4-1 with four submission victories. Its all but a given the Aussie will look for the takedown early and often in order to have any chance against the striking king that is Obi. Should be a great fight, and I can't see it going too long either way. I'll take Obi via KO. #2 Arthur "King" Carvalho (7-7) vs #3 Buba Harmon (2-1) Middleweight WC 17 sheds a couple pounds as we head to the middleweight division for two top-3 fighters getting set to decide who gets the next crack at the belt, its #2 Arthur "King" Carvalho taking on Buba Harmon! Carvalho has seen his career go up and down during his time on the Island. Fighting in both the AFL and HG, the Brazilian amasses a 7-7 record with six of his wins coming via submission. The switch to the WCC provides the BJJ brown belt with the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate an inconsistent career. Harmon has fought once before in the WCC, a decision win over Jack White at WC 9, which was followed by a change of management. The change resulted in his first loss of his career (in the QFC), but the American is hungry to find the win column again with his natural knock out power and decent takedown defense. I think this fight may come down to who's manager prepared their fighter better, but the experience of Carvalho may trump all; Carvalho via submisison. #8 "The Crown Prince" Arthas Menethil (3-1) vs #4 Jet Hemi (7-7) Bantamweight The last fight of the preliminary card pits "The Crown Prince" Arthas Menethil up against Jet Hemi as they both look to climb to the next rung on the bantamweight ladder! Menethil began his career in Finland where he went 2-1 before moving to the United States where he headlined NACF's MMA debut event, submitting Gregor Samsa midway through the third and final round. The American native has unreal wrestling abilities, and will look to continue using them to victory in his new home in the WCC. Hemi has hit a huge skid in his career, one that began with so much promise. The Kiwi began with six straight AFL victories including a title fight TKO of Jimmy Bond. He lost his next one however, and has stuttered to all new depths losing seven of his last eight trips to the octagon. Hopefully the new address in New York will do him good as he looks to regain championship form and make another push at a title fight. I'll take Hemi winning via KO. #5 Hughtavious Mingo (8-3) vs #4 Egon "The Wall" Ekkehard (5-1) Light Heavyweight The main card begins with a light heavyweight tilt between two top-5 ranked fighters as Hughtavious Mingo looks to keep the good run going against Egon "The Wall" Ekkehard! Mingo had a solid Island career in the Highland Games and made a decent tournament run into the third round before falling to a first round KO at the hands of Jake Theodorou. The 20-year-old West Monroe native has huge KO power, winning putting four of his previous opponents to sleep, never mind the other knockdowns to his name. Ekkehard was on quite a tear through the WCC before its move to New York. The German submission artist earned five straight victories, four via submission, before falling via a head kick KO to Rice Aroni in the third round of the Island tournament. Stand-up versus ground attack in this one, and I've got Mingo getting the KO before he gets taken down. #5 Dick Wad (9-3) vs #7 Ali Mouba (7-5) Heavyweight Next up, former WCC champion Dick Wad takes to the octagon to resume his climb back to the top against another former top challenger, Ali Mouba! Wad is one of the more prominent names in the WCC, being the inaugural heavyweight champion and successfully defending the belt four times, before losing it to Barney Gumble in the WCC/HG heavyweight unification bout. The Canadian then fell to Maki Pulu via submission at the end of the Island season and made it only as far as the third round of the Island tournament. Do not think for a second that the Muay Thai specialist is finished though, as he's only 26 and ready to press once again for the WCC crown. Mouba is also a fighter looking to make that push for the title. The Senegalese fighter struggled to gain traction in HG but had immediate success in the WCC winning his first two bouts. The boxing/wrestling forte fighter was eliminated from the Island tournament in the second round, but that did give him more time to prep for his first tilt in the bright lights of New York City. This fight has all the makings for a glorious one, and I'll take Mouba winning via submission. #1 Bobby Bob Bob (11-4) vs #5 Josh "Rude" Miller (9-5) Bantamweight Another fight, another former champion as Bobby Bob Bob steps into the octagon eager to reclaim the belt he recently lost against Josh "Rude" Miller for a title shot! The former WCC bantamweight title holder, Bob, saw his reign end with a decision loss to BJ Arnold, before responding nicely to defeat Zyd Xyd via TKO at 'The Big Bang.' The Muay Thai specialist from Bolivia saw his run in the Island tournament end in the third round, but he's poised to resume his role as the top bantamweight contender in the WCC with a win Saturday. Miller has taken a lot of time off the octagon in 2015, training hard so that he can be the WCC champ. The Canadian fought nine times in the AFL before their collapse and saw his record plummet near the end of his time there, which resulted in the extra training time. The twenty-year-old is a BJJ brown belt, and with his ever improving striking skill set, he could be a legit title threat in the WCC for years to come. I really like what Miller's done with his time away from competition, and as a result, I'll take him via submission. Lightweight Championship Title Fight #1 Papa Shango (12-5) vs #3 Better "Off" Dead (9-6) Lightweight In the co-main event of the evening, the World Combat Championships gives two lightweight fighters the chance to fight each other again, this time to claim the recently vacated championship title, its Papa Shango Better "Off" Dead! Shango fought twice in the WCC before the move, after an extended stay in the former AFL, where he did earn his first title shot of his career. He lost that fight via TKO, and will be hungry not to let the second title shot of his career pass him by. The Somalian has earned 'Submission of the Night' awards three times in his career, and will be eager to build off of his semi-final appearance in the Island tournament. Dead fought well in his long Highland Games career, but never quite earned the shot to fight for a title. The move to the WCC is exactly what he needed, as the vacant belt lies awaiting a holder. The native of Palau has extreme KO abilities, but has only mediocre takedown defense, which could be his demise against the ground expert. When these two met earlier this month in the Island tournament, Shango was able to submit Dead midway through the first round, and to be honest, I can't really see this one going any differently. Shango via submission. Featherweight Championship Title Fight © "The Real King" Mamad Mouba (11-3) vs #2 Derrick Jon (9-2) Featherweight And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships together with Vikai Gear presents a trilogy ending championship bout between the current WCC featherweight champion, "The Real King" Mamad Mouba, taking on the challenger, Derrick Jon! Mouba is a name any WCC fan knows extremely well, as the champ has been with the organization since its inception, fighting first at WC 3, and winning the inaugural featherweight championship fight at WC 5. There has been no other WCC featherweight champ, and the striking Senegal native will look to keep it that way here in New York. The #1 ranked Island featherweight made it all the way to the Island tournament final, but fell there to fellow WCC fighter Ali Roumani via a first round submission, one second before the bell rang. Jon did begin in his career in the WCC but really made a name for himself at Highland Games, fighting his way up to a title shot, which he lost to George Moshington via submission. In these two fighters previous encounters back in December, they each took a decision win away from the other, and one can expect the same grueling matchup that the first two had. It'll go the distance, and Mouba will remain the only owner of the belt! Last weekend, the World Combat Championships delivered in a huge way in its New York City debut, and this weekends event, WC 17: Mouba vs Jon 2, will be no different! Two title fights, 20 top-11 fighters, 10 great match-ups; WC 17 will blow the top off of Hard Knocks - New York! See you Saturday! Written by Shtaaf Reimish
