MMA Tycoon opinion box

I think it could be rather interesting to create a thread where all managers can quickly sum up their opinion about the current game situation, what they like and what could improve.

Opinions of both veterans and noobs are appreciated, as the veteran managers have probably the best knowledge and understanding of the game, but new managers can give a fresh insight.

This thread can be used as a pissing match to say for example that you do not like me and want me out of the game, but that's not the point.

I set this up to try and see how others feel about this game that we love, and what needs to be done.

I would suggest to work with bulletpoints for your opinion, using a ' + ' for the positives and a ' - ' for the negatives.

There is not really a need yet for suggesting improvements, as this is just to feel out what the general consensus is and then present this to Mike so that he can work on it.

I am confident that we can improve this game together as a community.

+ incredible depth (I learn things every day)

+ more freedom than most games

+ economy / world is mostly player run

- not enough balance updates or engine changes so it feels a bit stale

- very slow paced (though I've mostly learnt to accept it)

Overall I'm very happy with the current state of the game, though updates or new features would be a much welcomed breathe of fresh air.

+ complex structure of the game, unique for it's genre
+ loyal member base, especially for a text based game

+ the fight and org part of the game is very good

- low activity levels from the developers
- no new features for years, dispite the potential being there
- extremely slow pace, i personally do not mind, but it is slow even for me

Overall i am happy with the game as it is, it would be nice to see some new features, at least once per year.

+ I've been playing this game 7.5 years with no breaks so clearly this is one of the best games I've ever played.

- The lack of critical engine updates have driven me in a state where I don't have the passion and drive anymore. I'd enjoy the game instantly more if only these small tweaks were done to balance the striking and ground game but let's face it, it ain't happening.

+ The community and friends I have made via the game, forum and primarily the chat room, however, I would very much like to see the official chat moved into 2017 and taken to Discord as most game community's these days tend to be hosted on it due to its phone/browser and app friendly voice/chat service, it makes it easy to get involved.

- The economy is a cause for concern and I feel a re-evaluation of the entire in-game financial situation could be called for, how much certain companies are able to generate and how that trickles down needs to be addressed for the long-term health of the game, I would like to see a collective of well-experienced players brought together to have an open discussion with Mike directly in regards to how best move forward and put the emphasis somewhat back in the favour of the "Tycoon" element of the game.

- I would like to see the game adopt a more "micro-transaction" based model than it already does in favour of reducing the limitations placed on free accounts, primarily the amount of fighter slots available, as the community continues to dwindle I find it only right we off-set this by perhaps removing entirely the discrepancy between a paid users fighter slots and a free user, the truth is if someone is going to pay to support the game they are only going to do so if its vibrant and alive and the access VIP gives you to critical tools is in of itself reason enough to do so in my view, the trickle down benefits to the existing community of having more active fighters.

- We need less hardship to starting off in the game helping to keep more of the real new managers we do get with us should also be a real focus going forward, let's give them 200k and a really well written, well-documented users guide in the mail when they start so they have a real chance. In keeping with "none pay to win" micro-transactions that could off-set some of this cost include but are not limited to additional Island company slots, "burner" fighter slots that cost a per-day VIP cost to rent that people can use for tournaments, discounted fighter slots that can only be used for grapple or KT based orgs, etc.

- Some pressing concerns regarding the fighting engine, ground game effectiveness and the prevalence of the clinch game need to be looked into, I mean at this point even just the public suggestion that Mike is on the case would do a great deal to restore the faith of some of the veterans who have become frustrated in large due to these issues.

The game isn't in need of a re-build, the wheel does not need to be re-invented here but some TLC is required and we all need to do more to encourage people to come join us if we want this community to continue to thrive, that is my view.

+ Alliance Feature

+ solid fight engine (needs improvements but not broken)
+ gyms
+ creative members / user-base
+ fighter creation does a good job giving randomly generated numbers personalization

+ Relatively cheap game for VIP features and bonus content

+ no micro-transactions that give in-game (or in-fight) advantages to buyers

- low activity levels
- imbalanced fight engine (wrestling efficiency is far too inferior to striking efficiency)
- extremely slow pace, fighter rollover and roster rebuilding is troubling

- needs a lot of updates

- needs a lot of updates
- needs a lot of updates, so many that I re-posted 3 times to emphasize how many updates it's in need of instead of listing all of them

+ complex game that really is unique

+ variety in places to fight due to the game allowing the players to create the orgs

+ terrific community

+ ability to earn VIP through tourneys

+ KT orgs/TWGC add extra flavor

+ the ability to watch your young creation rise to the top

+ cheap VIP

- wrestling not always working well forcing many players to have to conform to the "sprawl and brawl" fighter build (this one is huge, needs to be fixed)

- not enough features for new/non VIP users

- not enough updates to the game

- too many things cost VIP days rather than in game dollars

+ Having different alliances

+ I like the current game engine. It seems pretty well balance, but perhaps some work needs to be done for the grappling aspect.

+ Good value for money

- Forum is inactive and the same goes for chat.
- Building a new roster takes too much time. It doesn't have to speed up too much, but 10-20% faster would be nice.

- It is not easy for new managers to learn the game. There should be an automatic mail when you sign up that links you to a few user guides to help new players out from the start.

- Needs more (frequent) updates and most of all far more presence of Mike himself in my opinion.

New managers should also be linked to the mentorship page, mentorships are extremely important in building up a new manager. I don't know where I'd be if CK didn't mentor me.
