JHL
Weight cutting neees to matter more. There's no way that a guy that walks around at 146 should be able to beat guys that walk at close to 170 at lightweight, for example. Sure, it could happen, but for the most part the strength advantage would just be way too much.
Mooncutter
Weight matters more in reality, yes, much more. But it's intentional, the way it is now. It gives the game fluidity and allows you to fight in different weight classes without much disasvantage. Also, when you're new or semi-new to the game you never pick the right weight, and it's more forgiving for that as well. I like the way it is now. It matters, especially in the clinch and in GnP, but not an extreme amount.
