bjornmma1
The following 4 fighters are invited for a top level meeting this afternoon at 5 P.M. in my NY Fight Nights boardroom: http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14312075978963.gif http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087008233571.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15086018624219.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087543905067.jpg http://www.jocelynavery.com/images/meetings_boardroom_chairs_copy.jpg A short press conference will follow later, to announce the results of the meeting.
bjornmma1
NY Fight Nights : Legends creation tournament ( Invitational) http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/144688237210gd6xc.jpg PRESS CONFERENCE http://agahgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/two-microphones-press-conference_header.png A high level meeting took place just hours ago, with Bjorn and the 4 finalists. They discussed what was next and where everything is going to take place. We had the opportunity to sit down with Bjorn for a few minutes and ask him a few questions. Hi Bjorn, thank you for making some time for the media in your busy schedule! You're welcome. What went on behind closed doors? Well, it was behind closed doors so... Sorry, I assumed this was why you kept a press conference afterwards.? Obviously, I was just kidding man. I had a conversation with all 4 fighters to hear how they felt and discussed a few different options. It became clear that they are very determined and eager to battle it out and see how crowns himself the absolute king. Are the rumors true, that the next event will just be the two semi-finals and then the last event will be just the final? That is 100% correct. Sorry to say this ( again), but isn't that going to make you lose a shitload of money? That is 100% correct again. I took this decision for two reasons: 1) Good luck trying to find 8/9 good fights to fill up the event. 2) I want these guys to shine and be the stars of the event, with no distractions apart from the ring girls. Speaking about ring girls, is it correct that you are still ' casting ' them? Well euh, yeaaah! Casting has been going great and I look forward to the next few! I'm sure that you are! I've got to ask you one more question, something all the fans have been asking for; has the draw been done for the semi-finals? Hell yes. I'm proud to announce the following matchups for the semi-finals .... SEMI-FINAL 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087008233571.jpg VS http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087543905067.jpg SEMI-FINAL 2 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14312075978963.gif VS http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15086018624219.jpg

philofthefuture
NY Fight Nights: Legends Creation Tournament Semi-finals http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1520847838semi-finals2.jpg Four sharks, one target... This tournament might easily be the best tournament of all time. About 5 months ago, we started off with 20 great fighters, all of which managed by MMA Tycoon legends. After 9 rounds, we are now down to the final 4 contenders. These are the four 19 year olds aspiring to be the next Legends Tournament Champion! These guys will definitely be one of the best P4P fighters in the game after this tournament. Looking only at their records, you wouldn't really know who will win. Now, let's dissect into each fight in the semis. Semifinal Match 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087008233571.jpg VS http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15087543905067.jpg Billy Arseworth David Brent For the first fight, we have Arseworth going against Brent. They first faced each other in round 7 where Arseworth won by decision after being aggressive for the whole 3 rounds. This time, it won't be the same case as they both have trained and are now different fighters. Arseworth is a very versatile fighter, but much monstrous on the ground. In his past matches, he's managed to takedown almost anyone, mixing it with his great KO power and ground game, he can be a very difficult opponent to match with. On the other hand, David Brent has never been submitted before including his loss against Arseworth where he had 28 sub attempts. Also, with his 100% KO rate, Arseworth will have a tough time against him given that he's had a history of a 44 second KO loss against Thor Grasman. Arseworth might go for the ground in this once again given that Brent's ground game is inferior to him. He's boosted his boxing but Brent's superior MT is dangerous for Arseworth. If Brent can avoid takedowns, he has a great chance at grabbing a W this time. Also, another key here is that Brent is currently suffering from cuts he got after his previous fight, Arseworth can capitalize on this advantage come fight time. Key Areas: KO Power Brent's reach advantage Arseworth's ground game TD Offense vs Defense Brent's cuts Personal Prediction: Brent via 1st round TKO Semifinal Match 2 http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14312075978963.gif VS http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15086018624219.jpg Marky Mark Blake Phoenix For the second semifinals match, Marky Mark goes against Blake Phoenix. They last met in the first round, very different fighters from who they are right now. Blake managed to outmatch Mark in the clinch and won by a quick 1st round TKO. Ever since that loss, Mark has never lost since then. Now we come to a point where they meet again. Such an epic story line right there ladies and gentlemen. With great training, both fighters became absolutely great standup fighters. Skills wise, Mark has superior boxing while Blake has superior MT. Mark's reach advantage will be key if he wants to strike in distance given that Phoenix is an absolute beast in the clinch. He can land those shots and break through Phoenix's good chin just like what Pablo Spezziale did in round 7. This will surely be a brawl as they are known to be aggressive fighters. I'll be expecting a finish from either of them. Key areas: KO Power and Chin Standup vs Standup Boxing vs MT Outside Striking and Clinch game Mark's reach advantage Personal Prediction: Phoenix by 1st round TKO Will it be Arseworth or Brent? Mark or Phoenix? Repeat or Redemption? Who will proceed to the final round? Grab your tickets now and head on to Hayashi's Lounge NY and know the answer yourself.

Alfred
Sorry to hijack your thread with something not entirely to do with it (love the tournament by the way. super idea) but what did you guys do with injuries with only two weeks between fights? bjornmma1
Sorry to hijack your thread with something not entirely to do with it (love the tournament by the way. super idea) but what did you guys do with injuries with only two weeks between fights? Any instances of someone being injured but still winning? No worries. Two weeks is normally not a big issue, as not that many fighters have such bad injury hiddens +the fights tend to end fast at 205lbs. Anyway, warriors fight on injured as well it is not impossible at all to win a fight while injured, just a bit more difficult.

philofthefuture
It’s been 5 months since the NYFN owner Bjorn O’Donnel came up with the ultimate creation tourney ever. A tournament where the legends battle other legends, and when I say legends, I mean top 10 (current or former) managers in MMATycoon! Now how big is that? You gotta answer your own question there mate! Despite this amazing journey, we have now come to the end of the road. The match where it matters most. We present to you NYFN LEGENDS TOURNAMENT: FINAL http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1522077179Finals.jpg We started with 20 fighters. Some legends went on with multiple testing trying to get the best fighter they could (If I’m not mistaken the learning speed was bad at this point in time). Some went on with bravery and entered without bothering to test them. Regardless, everyone expected an A game here. Finally, when it’s all been set, all fighters were confirmed and grouped in 2 divisions. Each fighter battled their best for 9 rounds, trying to edge the other. Fun fact! Up until round 4, all fights in the tourney had ended with a finish. Yes sir... that’s how competitive it was. Up until the end, it was good competition. The top 4 fighters held on to their respective positions around round 6 / 7 of the tournament and never let go. David Brent and Billy Arseworth solidified their position around the 8th round. The fighters to proceed from Pool 2 were only decided until the final elimination round where Marky Mark and Blake Phoenix made it. To everyone who has been following this tourney, it has been one hell of a ride and will surely go down to MMA Tycoon history. A lot of fighters aspired to reach the top but now only two fighters remain. One of which is about to be crowned the Legends Tournament Champion this coming April 1. Before I proceed to the fighter breakdown, let’s not forget the brains behind the success of the finalists. These fighters would not have been here if not for them. Managers Marky Mark (Currently ranked 19, former Number 1) and David Brent (Currently ranked 2, also former Number 1). THE MANAGERS Here they are guys, the top 2 managers of this tournament. They absolutely performed their best and proved that they can be the best of the best. Marky’s got an outstanding historical record at 1132-702 with more than 1800 matches! Now that’s what we call a veteran. David Brent isn’t backing down either with his 271-81 W-L record (around 75%) makes him an absolute beast. Taking a look back at the former encounters of these two, they actually have faced each other for three times now. David Brent leads their head-to-head 2-1. Their first encounter was a battle between Fakiiri and Sackett in the CFC 397 headliner. Sackett was Brent’s recent acquisition and Fakiiri was dominating Destiny back then. Sackett won by decision and became CFC champion thereafter. Almost a year after, they faced each other again in CEC 533. Marky’s fighter Partio won by majority decision in 3 rounds. Partio later on ventured into other organizations while Durden continued on to make a run in the CEC. Their third and most recent encounter was in GAMMA 661. This one was quite interesting because Marky was managing Brent’s former fighter Citizen. In the main event of GAMMA 661, Keenan got the judge’s nod after 5 great rounds of MMA. Citizen’s career is on a bit of a downfall but can still make it back at his age while Keenan is on a roll reaching top 3 P4P and currently ranked 15 P4P (2nd among featherweights). Now they meet again, at the most prestigious creation tournament final ever. It’s the 4th episode of Marky Mark vs David Brent. THE FIGHTERS In the Semifinals, it was a night of vengeance. Marky Mark defeated the only guy to defeat him in this tourney which was way back in the first round, Blake Phoenix. Mark showcased a dominant performance all throughout earning him the judges’ nod. Brent on the other hand defeated Billy Arseworth, the man who defeated him in round 7. This time, Brent won via first round KO victory in just 12 strikes! His power was just too much for Arseworth. As the tourney progressed, these guys proved to be the best fighters in each of their respective groups. Now, they are to face each other for the first time. Taking a look at their skillset, no one is the obvious winner here. Mark is obviously the better boxer and has a slight advantage in wrestling but Brent has significantly better muay thai. Also, each fighter is equipped with spectacular striking skills together with tremendous KO power which can be a pain to any fighter’s chin. They each have 8 TKOs up their sleeve, and a number of them came from opponents with good chins. With the right strategy and timing, anyone could go home via with a knockout in this one. Another key here is Mark’s height, he does have the reach advantage but given Brent’s overall standup advantage he may or may not outstrike Mark once he closes the gap. In their past fights, both fighters have shown they could also fight in the clinch but we wouldn’t know who is the better clinch fighter as of now. They’ve got about a week to train and a lot could still change. A winner today might go home a loser in April 1. Will Marky Mark call it quits with 2-2 or will David Brent make a statement with 3-1 Sadly, with a victor comes a loser and the end to this awesome tournament. A tournament which will surely be remembered. Personal prediction: Marky Mark by unanimous decision
