How do I leave an organization?

Yeh watch out. Some guys really get a kick out of keeping your guys hostage like that guy Camara. They can actually keep you for months if they match u up with inactive fighters....wait for the clause to nearly run out and make another offer that probably won't get accepted. These guys will rig opposition, dodge fights and when things get sour, they try to shame you on your threads. Lesson was do ur research before signing up to a low ranked org and check the length of inactivity clause.

A friendly message to the org owner can do wonders.

Very few org owners will keep fighters 'hostage'. There is not real point/benefit for an org owner anyway to keep a fighter who wants to leave. If you are not able to work it out by just talking, you can always try to buy him out of his contract as well.

I never commented when you started posting this in your crappy avatar thread but I swear I don’t remember.

Are you sure it was me? Because I’ve always worked with a team in my orgs and I always focus on matchmaking.

Just curious. Can you post the fighter I allegedly kept hostage?

  • 2 weeks later...

If I decide that I want to pull a fighter out of a contract early, I tend to offer to "buy it out" aka give them back the signing bonus. I know how frustrating it is for young organizations to invest time and money in a fighter only for him to dip prematurely.

Edit: But yeah talk to the org owner and be candid. Being up front and honest is always better than trying to go over his head. Most guys will be cool with you about it and you never know when you might want to work with him on something in the future.
