KONFLIKT FC V:

Saturday brings you two events of quality combat sports entertainment. First of which is Konflikt FC V which you can go and attend the event The Underground in Las Vegas. Get your tickets fast as it seats 1000 people and they will be going fast. I will be going over the main card with you and giving you predictions on all 10. For any of the guys I pick against feel free to make me eat crow and leave your opponent beaten, battered, and bloody.

Marcus Cruz vs Mario Rossi. This is the Main Event and what a fight it is. Marcus the 1-1 25 year old fancies himself as boxing wrestler with the brawler style that resembles the likes of UFC fighter Justin Gathje. He will taking on the talented 18 year old striking prospect in Mario Rossi. Both fighters have fought both of their professional fights in the cages of Konflikt. Cruz was accomplished high school wrestler in Iowa where wrestling is bigger than football. He also won the city wide golden gloves, state golden gloves, and failed to win the Diamond Glove competition. So while he does have a brawling style make no mistake he's every bit as technical as they come. While Rossi grew up over a kickboxing gym as his family owned the gym in Toronto. So he was taught kickboxing from a very early age, but also preferred to paint instead. He liked to paint so much that he decided to become a fighter to pay for his art supplies, but fell in love with MMA as well and started working on rounding out his game and is currently 2-0.
Prediction: Rossi KO.

Jebediah Stewart vs Puncher McBoxingMan. Both of these fighters are 25 and are looking to make a name for themselves in this Co-Main Event. Stewart will be looking to go for another KO and use his superior wrestling over his opponent to keep this fight standing. Make no mistake that knee he KO'd his first opponent with was no mistake. While McBoxingMan will be making his debut and looking for a strong start to his professional career. He is a judo and bjj specialist and will be hoping his opponent ties up with him so he can throw him down and tap him out. So the question in this fight is will Stewart be able to stop the takedown, will he decide to gamble and clinch, and will he be able to KO MxBoxingMan before hitting the ground and being submitted? Time will tell Saturday.
Prediction: McBoxingMan Submission.

Hardis Camaz vs Buzz Williams. The third fight on the main card is a bout to be contested at 185. Camaz is coming into this one 1-1 with a win by KO and a loss by KO. He is pretty well rounded with accolades in boxing, wrestling, and holds a blue belt in bjj. While his opponent is a monster wrestler and also holds a blue belt in bjj. Williams is coming in with a record of 1-0 and was a division 2 collegiate champion wrestler. Not sure as he took his opponent down early and ended it quickly but heard rumors that in training he looks uncomfortable on the feet and may give Camaz the opening he needs to get the W and the KO.
Prediction: Williams KO(gnp)

Oskar Hartvigsen vs Mark Lee. Will be a 170 pound fight between two young and hungry 18 year old fighters. Oskar is a Norwegian fighter that will be making his MMA debut after going 1-1 in Kickboxing. He has a very sold stand up game but it brings in question like a lot of fighters that try and transition from boxing, kickboxing, and muay thai is how is their ground game as well as their takedown defense as they don't have to worry or work on those in that type of fighting. Very little is known about Mark Lee other than he won the New York state wrestling championship and got a ton of offers for division 1 colleges. No clue if he plans to attend as well compete in MMA or just decide to fight. One thing for sure is the question buzzing about Hartvigsen and the ground game will definitely be put to the test.
Prediction: Lee KO(gnp)

Do It Yourself vs Sitmongkol Sitsongrit. Will be the fifth fight on the main card and the one to kick it off. Yourself is a muay thai and bjj fighter much like a smaller faster Bisping. He is 1-0 with a decision win on the local circuit that impressed the brass at Konflikt offering him a contract. Sitsongrit is a muay thai fighter from Thailand looking to show the world what real authentic muay thai style fighting can do on the MMA scene. He will be making his MMA debut and coming in with a 12-0 muay thai record.
Prediction: Sitsongrit KO.

Now the prediction for the rest of the card:

Fergal Deville vs Cornelius Burns: Burns by submission
Pyrrhus Epirus vs Frank Barnes: Barnes by submission
Steve Lewis vs Joseph White: Lewis by KO
Clive Grissom vs Folio Conter: Grissom by KO

Mark Lewis vs Eric Waylen: Lewis by KO

Bound for Konflikt Final

The second fight event happening this Saturday in Las Vegas is at The Palmtree with a seating capacity of 2200. And has some faces you more than likely you are already aware of.

Buddy Barnett vs Otavio Augusto. This is the Main Event and is the finals of the 185 pound tournament. Buddy Barnett will be coming into this 3-0 and has a lot of hype behind him and is the crowd favorite. He has a win in every category ko, submission, and decision. He is a Missouri state wrestling champion and decided to not go to college and just work and focus on his MMA career. He started his MMA career as nothing more than a wrestler and has evolved his wrestling with earning a purple belt in bjj. He also will be coming into this fight with over an 80% takedown percentage rate of success. Otavio Augusto will also be entering the cage with a 3-0 record. He first started his career studying under Demian Maia and entered the tournament as grappler and blue belt in bjj. He has finished and submitted every opponent and expects nothing different on Saturday night. Leading up to clash with Barnett he has been working on his stand up game and will definitely have the advantage if the fight stays there.
Prediction: Buddy Barnett submission

Moe Lester vs Scott Adkins. This is the Co-Main Event. Lester is coming in with a crowd of support behind him and 2-0 on the local circuit before catching the eye of the CEO of Konflikt. Looking to find his way in the talks of being crowned the first champion at 185 will be looking to put on another KO performance. Scott Adkins will be coming in 1-0. This English fighter is very well rounded on the feet and can handle the fight anywhere there. Sources have it he has been overworking himself in the gym training up for this fight and may be a bit tired come the night of the fight.
Prediction: Adkins KO if he rests otherwise Lester by KO

Ethan Glover vs Carson Wood. Ethan Glover fought on the very first card in Konflikt losing and leaving the org to sharpen his game on the local circuit massing two wins in a row before making his comeback fight to Konflikt and looking to make it a memorable one. His opponent for the dance on Saturday is Carson Wood who is a grappling specialist out of Talladega. His loves are fast cars, women, and grappling. I heard he trains at Fight Club but I can't get him to talk about it. Will Glover become 3-1 and grab his first win inside the cages of Konflikt or will Wood keep 0 and become 3-0? By a ticket for Saturday as they go on sale tomorrow night for $150 and find out.
Prediction: Wood submission

Nicho Adebayo vs Ryan Rodriguez. This 155 contested fight has both guys putting up their unbeaten losing record in a reverse somebody's 0 must go. Adebayo will be looking to sand in their and draw Rodriguez into a slugfest where he feels he has the advantage in a dog fight. Rodriguez has used his loss on the local circuit as a catalyst and joined Project Cadmus which have been doing great things in training fighters. Will he look like the same guy who lost on the local scene? My sources say no.
Prediction: Rodriguez KO

Barry Allen vs Aslan Smagulov. This fight kicks off the main card. Barry Allen is coming in 1-0 with a lightning fast knock out. He is a striker with a mediocre ground game. He will most likely look to stand in the pocket and trade with Smagulov who is a ground specialist. Allen will be coming in with the speed advantage. Smagulov will look to wrap up Allen and take him down and submit him. But what has his training been like and has been over training? These are things to watch out for.

Prediction: Allen KO

Undercard Predictions:
Jimmy Rage vs Tommy Robinson: Robinson KO
Eddie Brock vs Carl Watts: Watts KO
Kaplan Temrezov vs Henry Armstrong: Armstrong KO
Brenton Steele vs Severi Damage: Seele KO
Raymond Barron vs Xavier Frost: Frost KO

Buddy Barnett: I won the tournament. Just waiting on that big check and my picture taken. Always wanted a big check with my name on it. Also heard I get to stay in the executive sweet for 3 months as an added bonus. Pretty awesome. It was nice to pick up the submission against another talented grappler.

Konflikt FC V: Review

To start things off while we weren't right on the predictions with as much success of way of winning we did get 8 out of 10 winners picked correctly for this one.

Mario Rossi won his match by KO. He dominated his opponent in the first cutting him and eventually putting him away in the second cruising to what looked like an easy win and a 3-0 start to his career. I personally think the leg kicks and 2 body kicks were the real factor in this fight as they set up so many of his other shots and every kick landed in this fight. While the rest of his strikes were pretty much hit punches in bunches with not a lot of accuracy he clearly overwhelmed and out classed Cruz.

McBoxingMan won by submission via armbar. This fight went pretty much like I thought it would ladies and gentleman. It was over about as soon as the fight hit the cage floor. Sinking in the armbar on his very first submission attempt.

Williams won his fight by decision in what was a stale but impressive performance. Every round looked virtually identical with takedown after takedown and a bunch gnp with about 50% of his shots landing on the ground. Not to say that Camaz didn't try and make a game of it though landing virtually every shot he threw on the feet and coming up with a couple sweet sweeps to get back on his feet.

Lee the high school phenom wrestler was all like I'm going to make you wrong and win by submission rather than gnp. He shot in quick landed a few shots before passing guard and working his way into an americana submission victory earning himself a submission victory in his mma debut.

Sitmongkol won his debut via decision in a fight where he was takendown on the only takedown attempt by his opponent so a chance that the talks on his takedown avoidance might still be noteworthy. That aside he has tremendous striking defense. His opponent threw 129 strikes and only landed 15 of them. While he landed about as many shots as his opponent had thrown. Make no mistake if you get in a stand up fight Simongkol you are in for a real fight.

Cornelius Burns, Pyrrhus Epirus, and Steve Lewis all win their fights by TKO and around the exact same time.
Clive Grissom won by KO.
Eric Waylen won by submission via rear naked choke.

Bound For Konflikt Final: Review

We picked 7 out of 10 fights right on this card.

Buddy Barnett won his fight via kneebar and won the tournament. Congratulations on the victory and I'm sure we will be seeing him in a title fight soon. He took his opponent down in the first and was fighting off submissions while landing some ground and pound not missing a single shot on the ground he threw all night. He rocked his opponent on the ground late in the first with not enough time left to finish the fight. He came out in the second round wit another fast takedown and ended up going for his second kneebar and after a little bit of rolling to get out of like he Otavio did in the first he was tapping this time around.

Lester finished his opponent in the second round by KO. Most of the fight was contested in the clinch. Adkins barely threw a strike and landed none of them while Lester landed virtually everything he threw,

Glover won his fight via decision winning the first two rounds in a long fight. If you were looking for action in a fight you came to the wrong place. There was very little strikes thrown on the feet and the fight basically looked like takedown attempt after attempt and once the fight went there it was both fighters looking to get the advantage rolling on canvas trying to advance position with just enough strikes thrown to keep the fight from being stood up.

Rodriguez won his fight via KO. While it was another short fight for him it did look from what we could tell that he was a changed fighter. He landed all strikes thrown except for 1. That is counting both punches and kicks. He looked really good and ready for business. Or maybe he just didn't like his opponent mean mugging him across from the cage during announcements. I dont know. But what I do know is the fans were booing that the fight was over.

Allen won via decision. Allen cut Smagulov to open the first round but never quite capitalized on it. The fight saw plenty of action that had fans on the edge of their seats. Te fight looked like Smagulov going for nothing but takedowns and not having the time to do anything there as Allen was back to his feet about the same time it took to get the fight there. Allen was throwing in heavy combinations and missing almost all of them. While it made for a lot of action and an exciting fight I felt personally that he could have finished him if he would have been throwing more single shots.

Robinson by KO.
Brock by submission.
Armstrong by KO.

Steele by TKO.
Frost by KO.

MMA HOUR:

Ariel Helwani: Hi, Ariel Helwani, here with you on the mma hour. Thanks for tuning in. We have a special treat for you today. We have Buddy Barnett who recently won the 185 pound tournament at Konflikt FC on the air with us today. Hi Buddy are you there?

Buddy Barnett: Yeah Ariel I'm here. How are you?

Ariel Helwani: I'm good thanks for asking and how are you? Also what was it like winning the tournament and did you know you had it when you locked onto that second kneebar?

Buddy Barnett: I'm on top of the world right now Ariel. I think I was starting to tear up as I was thanking the fans actually. I've had an incredible amount of support from family, friends, fans, staff of Konflikt FC, and of course my hometown crowd in Saint Louis, Missouri. It was hard to express my gratitude. Otavio Augusto is a game opponent on the ground and probably about as good as they come, but the second time as we rolling while he was trying to get out of it he was rolling the exact same way he did the first time so I adjusted which way I was tweaking it during the roll which I know could have caused quite a bit of damage to him doing so, but if I was concerned about causing damage to my opponent I wouldn't be in a combat sport.

Ariel Helwani: Fair enough. I understand that it was originally suppose to be a title fight, is that right? And were you told what happened with that?

Buddy Barnett: Yes that is correct. It was suppose to be for the title and they did tell me what happened. They were unable to get approval from the State Athletic Commission in Nevada to approve a title fight and a 5 round fight in time and our post fight check up was only for 3 rounds and not 5. So they denied the title fight.

Ariel Helwani: That kind of sucks. Has anyone from Konflikt FC talked to you yet about what they are going to do?

Buddy Barnett: Yeah. I have talked to Petro Farantini about it. I'm probably not suppose to say anything since my opponent hasn't signed the dotted line yet but I'm suppose to be fighting for the title in like 80 days on May 26th against Moe Lester.

Ariel Helwani: Wow 80 days. Isn't that kind of a fast turn around? What are your thoughts on your would be opponent and did you see any fights that night that you liked?

Buddy Barnett: Not really. That's about what I'm use to and about how apart all the fights were in the tournament. So for me it's normal. I think Moe Lester is a talented fighter. He has pretty crisp clean striking and a decent sprawl. I saw Ryan Rodriguez's fight and it was fast but good. That little guy is fast. But everything he did looked clean and uniform. His body looked in perfect alignment the whole time. Not sure what they are doing over there at Project Cadmus but nice work.

Ariel Helwani: I understand that your manager Ikki Takeda recently became your coach and opened up a gym. So now he is your manager and your coach. Want to tell us a little bit about that?

Buddy Barnett: I would love to. He did and basically doesn't charge us anything. It's just a real small group and he oversees every bit of the training at Colossus Gym. He has us on specialized 1on1 training with various coaches and it's only a select few of the guys he sees potential in. Like Victor Creed, Sanka Coffie, myself, and a guy who hasn't fought yet Dan Gable trains there. Here we will be getting another guy in the gym soon. Knowing the training partners I already have I'm sure he will be a monster. Like Dan Gable even though he is smaller his wrestling is so good that when we spar I've only ever been able to take him down just twice.

Ariel Helwani: Wow so you are training with Victor Creed. You are both 4-0 in the same weight class and have a grappling background. I know many people would like to see a fight between you two. Anything you can tell us about your training sessions with him?

Buddy Barnett: Yes. Like first while a lot of people may like to see it. That fight isn't ever going to happen. Secondly he really is a monster. He is absolute savage in the gym. Now that's not to say I haven't bested him before.

Ariel Helwani: Some people are saying you're kind of a one dimensional fighter. Care to add your take on that?

Buddy Barnett: Sure. If you don't like my dimension than stop it. Pure and simple. Look at arguably the best 155 on the planet Khabib Nurmagomedov. He is a pretty one dimensional fighter but he is so good at that dimension that no one has been able to stop it. So if you don't like what I do, than stop what I do.

Ariel Helwani: Nice I like your style. And that wraps up about all the time we have here on the MMA Hour. Thank you coming on the show my friend.

Buddy Barnett: Thanks Ariel it was a pleasure to be here.

Kings of Konflikt

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1522109884KING%20145.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1520186162KING%20205.jpg

A fierce battle has been waged to reach the bloody finish as 32 fighters are now down to 4.
Two Light Heavyweights and Two Featherweights will meet in an epic battle to settle who will wear the crown (or tiara) once and for all.

Ikki Takeda takes an indepth look at the upcoming battles Enjoy!

Caitlyn Jenner vs Rei Steinberg is the slotted main event, and will be for the 205 title.

Jenner is coming in at 4-0 and is a submission grappler winning the first 4 by way of submission.

Steinberg is coming in at 3-0 and KO artist. Steinberg has won all 3 of his fights by KO or cut

stoppage. Also the time of the fight is to watch in the first round between 2:00-2:59 as all wins

have come in between that time frame for him.

Prediction Jenner: Submission

Nathaniel Fredo vs Hoddy McNeal is the co-main and will be for the 145 title. Fredo is coming in

at 3-0 and is a submission grappler. He first came in as a highly toted bjj practioner and has

since started rounding out his game after coming to mma. McNeal is coming into the fight at 3-0.

He is a well rounded fighter that prefers to stand up and throw. Since his decision win debut he

has been KOing his opponents quicker in every single fight.

Prediction: McNeal KO

Chizzled Abs vs John Banks will be the 3rd fight on the main card. Abs will be walking into this

135 pound fight at 2-1 winning his last two fights and winning them by total domination over his

opponents. Banks is coming in at 0-1 and will be looking to bounce back in his fight against Abs.

It promises to be action paced stand up battle.

Prediction: Abs decision.

Ted Lewis vs Black Jr will be a 145 showdown. Lewis is coming in at 1-0. He is 25 and had a decent

professional boxing career coming to mma with 11-2 professional boxing record. He worked on his

takedown defense and his defensive grappling before coming to mma. Jr is coming in 1-0 as well

and was a international kickboxing champion before coming to mma. One thing is for sure is somebody

will be getting rocked after that cage door closes.

Prediction: Lewis KO

Michael Wittmann vs Biskane Garnot will be the fight to kick off the main card and will be another

145 fight. Wittmann is coming in to debut. He has pretty decent stand up and a nice submission game.

KONFLIKT FC VI

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1524686798AR9gr26.jpg

Ikki Takeda has the inside scoop on the upcoming action, lets check it out........

KONFLIKT FC VI will be held at The Palmtree in Las Vegas on May 12.

Harvey Smithson vs Alexei Volkove is the main event at 265. Smithson comes in at 2-0 and is a boxing

wrestler. Not a single fighter so far has made it out of the first minute against Smithson. Volkov

is coming in at 1-0 and is also a boxing wrestler. Volkov is no stranger to taking on a 2-0 opponent

inside the cages of Konflikt as he KO'd Aaron Alto in his mma debut.

Prediction: Smithson KO

Basket Case vs Vasyl Lomachenko is the co-main event and like most of the card will be at 135. Case

is 4-1 and is a striker. All 4 of his wins have come by way of KO. He is 18 and is constantly improving.

Lomachenko 1-1 and is 25 and is a boxing wrestler. Lomachenko loss came under the big lights of Konflikt.

He will be looking to bounce back after having gotten rid of the jitters.

Prediction Case KO

Gigantor Monster vs Pontso Pelti is the third fight on the main card and will be at 135. Monster

is 3-3. All 3 wins have come by way of KO. He has been rounding out his game adding some wrestling

and bjj to his game since his first debut. Pelti is 0-1 and is well rounded with a very solid

wrestling game. Can't wait to see these two well rounded fighters go at it after the cage door slams.

Prediction Pelti KO

Forrest Boyer vs George Lopez will be the only 155 fight on the card. Boyer will be making his debut

and his been way over training for the fight from what I hear and looks exhausted in training. I'll

chalk that up to debut jitters. Lopez is coming in at 0-2 and has been training in the public Cozad

gym. Hopefully he doesn't come down with staph before the fight.

Prediction Lopez submission.

Gutzy Mane vs Total Bastard will be kicking off the main card and will be at 135. Mane is 1-2

and is a grappling specialist. After losing his two fights both by being cut he has been training up

his striking defense. Bastard is 2-0 with both wins by KO in quick fashion. He will be looking for

another fast KO.

Prediction Mane submission.

Undercard predictions:

Disco Kid vs Billy Marven: Kid submission

Garth Algar vs Benjamin Boogie: Boogie KO

Bidon Van Roosmalen vs Jerrick Banks: Banks submission

La Lawn vs Damien Alvarez: Lawn KO

KINGS of KONFLIKT Review:

http://www.mixmag.net/assets/uploads/images/_full/coxycrown.jpg

Hoddy McNeal captured the 145 pound title in a fight you can't really say much

about as it started and ended just about as quick. The only fight that ended

faster this weekend was Gigantor Monster vs Pontso Pelti and the Ryan Bader vs

King Mo in Bellator.

Carlos Diaz beat Cooper by submission in a close fight up until then. Diaz won

the first round and Cooper won the second and cut Diaz in the second. Diaz came

in the third and quickly took Cooper down and finally got the submission just

9 seconds before the fight was over.

Caitlyn Jenner won the 205 title after submitting Rei Steinberg in under 2 minutes.

Which is you remember was the key to victory in this fight I said. Jenner went and

immeditaley clinched and pulled guard and then went submission after submission after

submission until he finally landed one that worked.

Corey Mcgraugh vs Chew Kok was a unanimous decision victory for Mcgraugh. If you were

listening to the commentators they made it sound like it was just a totally one sided

fight for Mcgraugh. Not sure if they suade from the cut Kok got early in the first

or if it was the volume of Mcraugh. Hope their commentary didn't sway the judges

scorecards as well. Mcgraugh only landed 6 more shots than Kok.

Ddab Calharran beat Han Hanger by TKO in the second round. Hanger got the early

takedown in the first and was working over Calharran nicely before Calharran

landed a sweep at the end of the round but it was too little to late to get the

round back. Calharran came out strong in the second and got the takedown and

ended the fight shortly after.

Undercard

Mister Happy TKO

Ted Lewis decision

Chizzled Abs TKO

Buakaw Banchamek TKO

Biskane Garnot Submission

KONFLIKT FC VI Review:

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1524686798AR9gr26.jpg

Alexei Volkov beat Harvey Smithson by TKO in the very first round in the main event.

Volkov got cut in the first few seconds of the fight. Followed by the next 10 seconds

Volkov cut Smithson. Then in the first few seconds after the 1 minute mark Smithson

opened up the cut even more on Volkov. Blood just starting to pour. Smithson clinched

to get in closer to work on that cut some more but Volkov had other plans. He was blocking

almost everything in the clinch and just like the at range fight Volkov proved to be the more

accurate striker. Volkov rocked him right before the four minute mark and put him away shortly

after.

Basket Case beats Vasyl Lomachenko by TKO. This fight was Case's from bell til the ref stopped

it. He rocked him early and clinched him and threw every shot in the clinch and landed virtually

all of them.

Total Bastard beat Gutzy Mane by TKO. Bastard came in and clinched Mane and then just unloaded

on him until the ref said hey thats enough.

Koby Horder beat Salvador Sanchez by heel hook. Horder takedowns were at work in this one.

Landing takedown after takedown before landing a 3rd takedown in the second and quickly sinking

in a heel hook for the submission victory.

Garth Algar beat Benjamin Boogie by decision. The first round was super close and was the

deciding factor. It could have went either way. Boogie dominated the second and Algar dominated

the third. But all the judges scored the first round for Algar which I thought for sure would

have been a split decision and one judge at least score it differently than the other two.

Undercard:

Bidon Van Roosmalen TKO

Gigantor Monster KO

Disco Kid Submission

Damien Alvarez decision

George Lopez Submission

Iron Sheik has had a fantastic start to his short career.

In his first four fights, he took home first place in a QFC Tournament in Rio de Janeiro, showing the world his smothering clinch game and brilliant takedown defense. He also packs quite a bit of power, scoring three first round knockouts in his first four fights.

Now, at the Super Six Elimination Round on 5-19, Sheik will make his Konflict FC debut on the undercard, taking on professional jobber El Toro Caca. Caca has yet to win a fight in his first two tries, and isn't likely to find any comfort here.

Sheik is going to strike his way inside, break "Maloliente" down in the clinch and secure a quick knockout victory. Caca isn't bringing anything to the table Sheik hasn't seen before, and this should be a highlight reel victory to break into the ranks of Konflict FC.
