Gladiators KT Tournament Round 1
What a great night of fights we had here tonight, we started 16 fighters competing, now were left with 8 who will move onto the 2nd round of this heavyweight KT tournament. Let’s take a closer look at a breakdown of the fights.

Opening bout
Michael Balrog vs Eric Shavers
Starting the night off in a bang was Michael Balrog vs Eric shavers. The fight Started out with both fighters throwing punches, as no one was landing Shavers decided to take the fight to the clinch. From there was saw a mix of uppercuts, shoulder strikes, elbows, and body shots landing for both fighters. It was looking very competitive until the moment that Balrog landed a glancing elbow that sliced a big cut into Shavers’s forehead. From there the fight took a big turn in favour of Michael Balrog, continuing to land shots meanwhile Shavers was having a very difficult time trying to break clinch, and dish out shots of his own to no success. The crowd was going wild as Balrog landed another huge shot which clearly put Shavers on wobbly knees. Balrog sensed that Shavers was hurt, following up the big shot with a flurry of nasty elbows that put Shavers on his back. With a 10 count from the referee the match was over and declared a TKO at 3:56 of round one. Your winner Michael Balrog. The victory must have been sweet after what was said between the fighters leading up to the fight.

2nd fight
William rose vs Dayton Stanbury
In our second fight of the night, William rose took on Dayton Stanbury. A very dominant William rose took it to Stanbury, opening up a big cut in the first round and beating away at it. Stanbury used his kicks well by doing a lot of damage to Roses legs, he also went high with the kicks a few times but not finding success.
A very pivotal moment occurred in the second round when Stansbury ducked into a hook that put him down, displaying good willpower he beat the 10 count and the fight continued, although only briefly as Rose landed another huge hook that dropped Stansbury again. It looked to be over at that point but Stanbury showed extreme grit and determination by getting up just before the referee could say 10. After getting up He looked exhausted, but still managed to land a leg kick just before Rose closed the distance, tied him up, and landed an uppercut that put stanbury away for good. The winner by TKO and moving onto round 2, William Rose.

3rd Fight
Simon Macrus vs Giorgio Rossi
This fight was fairly competitive, unfortunately prematurely ended from a cut, which declared Simon Marcus the winer by TKO. From what we did see, Both fighters mixed their strikes up going to the head and body, in what was a boxing match as no kicks were thrown by either fighter. Not much else to say, except it is surprising we see so much cuts with these big boxing gloves on.

4th Fight
Donald trump vs Andre Pierno
Starting this fight out we see a good exchange of strikes from both fighters, after about 30 seconds of striking Trump tied up Pierno, who looked gassed already, leaning on Trump and taking a breather. Pierno got his breath back and broke clinch, another period of striking and Pierno looked really tired. He might need to work on his conditioning or ease up on the training before his fights. Trump takes advantage of a worn out Pierno by clinching up again, after some exchanges in the clinch, Trump unloaded a whopping uppercut that rocks Peierno, then followed up with another uppercut that Pierno did not recover from. The winner by TKO, Donald Trump.

5th Fight
Emmet Brickwoski vs Lothar Darkthrone
They opened the bout with a nice striking exchange, both fighters countering well with well timed punches and kicks with Darkthrone having the slight edge. Within the first minute Darththrone had been cut by Brickowskis quick step in hook. The fight continued with Brickowski being the aggressor but it still remaining extremely competitive. With one minute left in the first round Darkthrone clinched Brickowski and pushed him back into the ropes. In the clinch we saw an equal amount of punches blocked and landed, although nothing with impact on the fight.

The second round played out much like the first, Competitive in the clinch and in kickboxing. The third round is where we saw the most important moment of the fight. Brickwoski landed a snapping shot which dazed Darkthrone, Darthrone used his punches to keep Brickwoski at bay until he got his legs back under him. Surprisingly Brickwoski didn’t seem to notice that Darkthrone was hurt as he didn’t rush for the finish. The fight went on and was still a back and forth technical match until Brickowski caught Darthrone with another hook that dropped him. Lothar Darthrone showed good heart by getting back to his feet, but still out of it, all Brickowski needed was one more punch to the non-defending Darthrone to end the fight by KO.

6th Fight
Pekka Toivonen vs Petr Van Zant
This fight was absolute chaos. Early in the fight both fighters landed punches nearly at the same time which opened cuts on each fighter. A quick break due to a groin shot halted the action unfortunately but it didn’t affect the fighters. Still going at it Toivonen missed with a right hand which Van Zant took full advantage of as he rushed Toivonen with punches flooring him. Toivonen managed to beat the 10 count at 8 and he contined to fight after some clinching and striking Toivonen opened Van Zants cut even more with an inside punch at the end of round one.
Moving into round two, with the gushing cut on Van Zant, Pekka Toivonen knew where to strike. Van Zant tried defending it but Toivonen was too much as he hammered away at it.The referee was forced to stop it due to huge cut and the massive blood loss of Van Zant.

7th Fight
Tygan Shen vs Shotgun Kelly
This fight was a quick one. After moving into the clinch early into the fight, Shotgun Kelly landed a vicious knee that cut Shen, But not affecting him, the fight went on and ambitiously in the clinch. But after a break clinch from Shen, we saw a strong uppercut landing for Shen that dropped Kelly and put him to sleep. With the winner by KO: Tygan Shen.

8th Fight
Victor Danchev vs Armando MonDrago
This fight really was a real muay thai fight, the majority of the fight took place in the clinch, all of which was dominated by Victor Danchev. MonDrago was breaking the clinch well but Danchev was having non of it and went straight back in for the clinch every time, MonDrago couldn’t keep Danchev off of him, but even when he did manage for a few seconds, he didn’t do anything with it, he wasn’t able to land anything effective which lead to a unanimous decision win for Danchev A very dominant performance has Danchev moving onto round 2 of this heavyweight tournament in style with 42 of his clinch strikes landing compared to MonDragos 3.

Final Bout
Ogbah Powers vs Marco Quincy
In the final fight of this tournament round we witnessed another quick TKO in Ogbah Powers vs Marco Quincy. Very early in the fight Powers clinched and landed a punch that cut Quincy. Quincy didn’t give up as he fought back in the clinch, landing shots of his own, and trying to break clinch. Powers forced Quincy against the ropes not letting go for dear life. After a bit of clinch fighting, Powers landed the most powerful, earth-shattering shoulder strike i have ever seen! I mean, I’m surprised it didn’t kill Quincy. Amazingly, Quincy kept in there but was seriously hurt, Powers kept Quincy in the clinch landing more and more shots until he unloaded a big uppercut that sent Quincy to sleep.

After taking a brutal beating and landing a lucky punch in the last fight I highly doubt that you'll even dent Pekka. - Mr. President Donald J. Trump
