UFC 200 so far (will keep updated as we know more). Thoughts?

I pay very close attention to who is ranked where in each division and I like to predict match ups based on form, rank and entertainment value. Below is what I would have matched up for UFC 200 depending on outcomes of fights/injury/availability.

Main Card:

Lawler vs GSP - title

McGregor vs Aldo 2/edgar - title

Diaz vs Ferguson/Khabib

Rothwell vs Velasquez

Bisping vs Whittaker

Prelims:

Silva vs Mousasi/Kennedy

Pena vs Holm

Mir vs Nelson

Almeida vs McDonald

Fight Pass:

Poirier vs Cerrone

Ortega vs C Oliveira

Northcutt vs a can

So far The UFC have the following in the works or confirmed:

Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier - Glad to hear they were able to put this on the card. Everyone knows its a huge grudge match and it will bring in decent numbers. Most likely Jones walks away with another UD over him. They seem to be obsessed with proving who is the better wrestler though which is a bit of a turn off. I think it will end up being pretty similar to the last fight but hopefully we see a finish (hopefully JBJ gets the finish ;)).

Jose Aldo vs Frankie Edgar - Personally, I am glad to see this fight happen ONLY because Diaz vs McGregor is confirmed now. There has been debate about if this should or should not be for the interim title. Should be a good fight and I'm gonna be routing for Frankie, safe to say the winner will face McGregor in NY later in the year for the actual title fight.

Meisha Tate vs Amanda Nunes - Expected to see Meisha fighting and I am actually glad its not yet another rematch, I think Tate will defend her title and we will see Tate vs Rousey in MSG.

Cain Velasquez vs Travis Browne - Well no doubt this is an exciting fight and with all other high ranked HW's booked already it makes sense. I think we all know where this one is going though - Browne unconscious. Does this fight make sense? I guess so, Brown is coming off a win, even if it was a dirty performance in the eyes of many and Cain is coming off a loss and has been injured. It will bring in the numbers and make for an exciting fight, no doubt so I don't have a problem with this.

TJ Dillashaw vs Raphael Assuncao - Another rematch on the card, Assuncao is on a long winning streak and beat TJ last time out. Should be a good fight with a lot of incentive to win from both guys, TJ to get revenge for his loss and back to winning and Assuncao to get the title shot next.

Johny Hendricks vs Kelvin Gastelum - Will they make weight? lol. Another fight that doesn't overly excite me. Both coming off a loss, both have an average amount of hype behind them and both have a wrestling background. Big opportunity for Kelvin to race up the rankings. Should be alright, not got much more to say about it.

Gegard Mousasi vs Derek Brunson - When I first saw the match up, I wasn't overly excited about it but it makes sense despite Mousasi calling out higher ranked fighters and not getting any of whom he called out. Brunson is on a good streak with KO's in the alst 3 and Mousasi is a decent contender in the top 10, not the most exciting fighter but I think Brunson will force him into a pretty exciting fight.

Julianna Pena vs Cat Zingano - This will be a war I recon, these are two of the few in womens divisions that I will actually get quite exited about watching. It's difficult to say if the winner of this will be next for a shot after Rousey returns as I am sure Holm will be matched up with another serious contender soon and if she wins, lots of people will be wanting that rematch vs Rousey somewhere down the line.

Joe Lauzon vs Diego Sanchez - Did not see this coming, nor did I want to see it coming. Two big names in the MMA world (I guess) but past their primes and have no chance at contendership. This is the most Fightpass fight ever, two guys who have the potential to put on a good fight but no-one really cares about either anymore, at least I don't think so.

Takanori Gomi vs Jim Miller - This is a fight pass fight I am sure, I actually forgot Gomi was still on the roster. 2 guys that have been in the game for a while and should be an okay fight, nothing to write home about.

Sage Northcutt vs Enrique Marin - Just to add another well known name to the card, expected this on the fight pass fights. Marin seems to have some submission wins so perhaps we will see another quick tap from sage..?

-----------

What are your thoughts so far and who would you like to see at 200?

Anderson Silva fighting in the prelims is not right :)

btw ... Nate vs Conor 2 ? Dana really likes to kiss Conor's butt ... I mean he just wants conor to win this somehow ... :D :D :D

may be Conor will finish Diaz in this next fight within 13 seconds using his world class BJJ and all-around skills ;)

honestly, I think Conor should defend his title ... his 'we are here to take over , not take part ' or something is his deal .. he is the 145 champ .. and if he is he should defend the title .. otherwise he should vacate the title and go for his 'taking over' fights ... it's not tile there aren't any contenders in the 145lbs division ....

-------------------------

Lawler vs GSP - title ------------------------------------> that's right !!! good one ! but I don't think either GSP or ROusey should be given title shots after returning to UFC whenever they want ..taking care of their things ....

McGregor vs Aldo 2/edgar - title --------------------- I would love to see this !!!

Diaz vs Ferguson/Khabib -------------------------------- if Khabib shows up an fights Ferguson, it won't e that easy for the winner to return so soon at UFC 200 right? but this is a fight I would love to see ..Diaz vs the winner of Khabib and Tony

Rothwell vs Velasquez --------------- this is 'IF' Ben wins against JDS

Bisping vs Whittaker ---------------- if Whittaker wins? I think Whittaker will win against Natal ... but I would love to see Bisping vs Romero/vitor or something like that

Prelims:

Silva vs Mousasi/Kennedy -------------- Silva is scheduled for a bout with Uriah Hall , i think ... and in my opinion Anderson is still a main card fighter ...

Pena vs Holm ----------------- I would love to see Meisha vs Holm rematch

Mir vs Nelson --------------- well ... would be a good fight ... but

Almeida vs McDonald ------------ YEAH !!!!

Fight Pass:

Poirier vs Cerrone -- this is KILLER !!!

Ortega vs C Oliveira ---- awesome !!!

Northcutt vs a can ---- a can ??? there are better fighters than Sage to be included in the UFC 200 card

Silva vs moussassi "prelim" , ???? get some brain pls, one good event then every events shit for the rest of the year ?

What are you talking about you idiot. Have you not been up to date on the numerous rumors of GSP's return? Of course they are just rumors so it may not happen but as long as its a possibility why count it out completely? GSP dominated the division for years so an immediate title shot wouldn't be a stupid idea.

And why would silva vs mousasi not be on the undercard on a huge card like 200? Silva comes to dance for the most part and has lost 3 of his last 4. Mousasi doesn't bring in the numbers.

Go back into hiding 'pls'

Lawler v.s GSP is the main event I would make if I could; that would be the biggest fight anybody could make.

Conor v.s diaz 2 is absolutely ridiculous. If they make it then Conor has to give up the belt, there's no way he should hold up that division even longer just so he can boost his ego by beating Nate. Although he could just get finished again.

Velasquez v.s Browne sounds great. Browne has a good shot at beating Cain with all his injuries. I still wouldn't bet on it but this is the best time to fight Cain and have a chance at beating him.

Conor vs Diaz 2, especially so early is simply dumb. Conor just won the 145lbs title and should be defending that first, not moving up to 155 or 170 to take money fights. Personally i would like to see him up against Edgar and see Aldo fight someone else to earn his rematch.

Have to agree with you completely here. Edgar has earned it although I wouldn't mind an Aldo rematch because there is a lot of beef there I wanna see that idiot get wrecked again.

As for my '200 wishlist' I know it is not completely realistic and I am fully aware that it is highly unlikely we will ever see Anderson on an undercard but that would have been MY preference regarding my opinion of him and his recent form. Didn't expect any butthurt from that or the GSP lawler match up, again I think it is probably not gonna happen but if you type in GSP return rumors in google you will see why I put it there.

Conor's just a really sore loser, he has to have another go at Diaz, and since he basiclly does his own matchmaking and tells Joe Silva who he wants to fight, Diaz it is.

I'd much rather see Conor vs Edgar. Don't like the way Aldo is handling it tho, he's being to smug when Conor slept him with one punch, imho Aldo needs a win first.

This. I hope Nate tells Conor to fuck off because I'm guessing that's the only way this fight doesn't happen. As for Aldo, I've lost a lot of respect for him and the way he has handled defeat. Give him Holloway and let him earn the title shot. Frankie deserves a title shot more than anybody in the sport right now and it's infuriating that he has to possibly wait even longer just cause apparently Conor runs the UFC now.

Here's my wishlist, NOT necessarily in this order:

RDA vs Khabib/Ferguson - title

Lawler vs Woodley - title

McGregor vs Edgar - title

Tate vs Holm 2 - title

Dillashaw vs Assuncao 2 - #1 contender match

Mark Hunt vs Travis Browne

Anthony Johnson vs OSP

Bisping vs Mousasi

Benavidez vs Horiguchi

Jessica Penne vs Valerie Letourneau

CM Punk vs Mickey Gall

PVZ vs scrub

Northcutt vs scrub

There is NO WAY Nate would tell Conor to fuck off. Nate would love to get another half MIL$+ payday.

Silva in the prelims makes no sense... other than that seems legit

Silva makes sense in prelims. He just lost while headlining a card that was only on fight pass. He got busted for peds in the fight before that.

Headlining prelims is big exposure. Ufc gets more buys with a free big draw on FS1, making people want to buy the PPV.

When I wrote out my UFC 200 list, I was thinking what I, I will repeat I would like to see without being too ridiculous with the line up. Let's break it down for shits and gigs though...

For Silva being in the 200 prelims:

- Lost 3 of last 4 fights.

- Had huge opportunities to finish in last fight but did nothing about it.

- Was suspended for roids (perhaps losing popularity).

- Lower ranked than anyone else on MY main card.

- UFC 200 is expected to be huge with many big names, so it wouldn't be drastic if he was put on the prelims.

- Passed his prime.

Against Silva being in the 200 prelims:

- He still has a big following and as proven can still carry a main event slot (I imagine he still could even with his poor form and cheating).

- He is known as the GOAT (arguably).

That's about all I can think of and of course UFC is a business so it does indeed make sense for Silva to be in a main card slot for the remainder of his career, I guess.

Anyway still haven't heard anymore news regarding the UFC 200 line-up, really looking forward to seeing the full card!

ah ok guess I skipped that "it's me" part, sorry about that... I was talking realistic. as far as real world is concerned, we all know he won't be in the prelims. even you do.

it's like putting chuck liddell or bj penn in the prelims. they wouldn't accept it. silva wouldn't. so that's why i said it makes no sense.

forgot to update yesterday but as you guys may know the new fights targeted for 200 are:

- Johny Hendricks vs Kelvin Gastelum

- Diego Sanchez vs Joe Lauzon

....Okay its not TERRIBLE but its not 200 worthy.... Especially if your flying fucking miles to get there.

I will be gutted if we get a Conor/Nate rematch at UFC 200. One of the reasons I started to like MMA more than boxing is because in UFC in particular, we get to see the best face the best more often than we do in boxing. Dana White gets a lot of hate but I believe his power at the top is one of the reasons we get to see such good fights. Conor/Nate 2 now would be the opposite of that. Anyway for what it's worth, here's some fights I'd like to see at UFC 200:

Robbie Lawler vs. Georges St. Pierre --- Welterweight Title
Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Nate Diaz --- Lightweight Title
Jon Jones vs. Anthony Johnson --- title or no title depending on UFC 197
Conor McGregor vs. winner of Nurmagomedov/Ferguson --- relinquish the 145lbs belt

Never going to happen. But a junkie can dream.

Speaking some truth! I liek that list there for sure even the McGregor vs Tony/Khabib although I'd rather see him face Edgar or Aldo and defend his belt, if he can even make weight again haha.

anyone here share the same thought as me ??

.. that if Conor is the 145 champ, and he should at least defend his title a couple of times before going on his "not take part, take over' scenario and get beaten ? That idea of "taking over" is his own .. other fighterd in the division or most of us don't give a damn about that and what we want is to see the division moves on ...

he should defend the title or he should vacate it ....
