Everyone just needs to donate

the developer needs to develop

why would any of this matter to anybodys enjoyment of the game? when i flick on Fifa or Red Dead i'm not thinking that i want the owner of the game to be joining in...

Thing is, you get significant FIFA updates every year, and constantly throughout each one's run-cycle.

Everything in the game I mentioned is more or less identical in terms of strikes landed and where the fights take place, they claim it is based on "fightnomics" which is a book...

My point in mentioning this is that if that company (Prey Studios) were to take over this browser game they would not be making any changes or updates that "break" this game because they have an identical game with the exact same concept and goals. Why would they all of a sudden make head kicks land 100% of the time and all of a sudden only kickers are OP? Again their game is based on the same philosophy of MMA and the statistics involved and is very well balanced. It has 10 times more users AND these number are not inflated at all. If anything they will make this game nothing but better.

But at the same time they likely wouldn't want to buy this game as it is technically, and no offense, but it is a "piece of shit" in comparison.

That does not mean I do not like this game anymore! I love MMAT but the world is changing and there are games upon games coming out every day. These guys are probably way beyond this point to even use anything this games has. Or maybe they can. If they can then let Mike discuss with them. For all we know Mike is already involved with this company and he is the one who founded the game!

(If you want to know what to look for it is called: MMA Manager by Prey Studios)

are you guys not enjoying the game? for me this is the best game i've ever played and i'm not sure what kind of changes people want implemented. it's brilliant as it is and i'm all up for the odd update but i'm still having fun playing this 5 and a half years after i started!

what changes specifically would make this better? more people playing for sure but it is quite a niche game so it will never have huge numbers...

A problem I have with it is that by buying VIP we are essentially subscribing to the game, and when you usually subscribe to things you get updates or constant materials etc. For example, with Netflix and streaming services you get new media constantly added, with magazines you get regular issues, and with online games (MMO, MOBA, BR) you get consistent updates and improvements. We are currently subscribing just to be able to play the game (non-vip isn't even worth it), and haven't had any meaningful updates in years. It's all fun and games when people mock the additions like the belt cabinet, but due to the absence of new things to keep the players interested and the disinterest of the owner, people leave and the game becomes a shadow of what it could be.

I am personally enjoying playing at the moment, but that's because I have spent years building my characters and their legacies. Engagement with the community through forums, in-game and externally via shit like discord is what keeps me going though honestly. I am just personally upset that we aren't being heard. People have asked since 2014 to be able to train on Sundays, suggested different tactics per round since 2009, requested takedown option / tactics since 2016, and wanted one-day tournaments (QFC style) since 2015, and the list goes on.

It's all so tiresome.

But I love MMA and I love this game, so I'll play until its completely dead, whatever happens.

I think we are getting away from the goal. We are not trying to take the game from Mike or Replace Mike. My idea allows Mike to keep control of the game with no changes to his current role now. It does allow us as members to buy shares to hold with no return on the money allowing Mike to invest in the game developement.

We would keep track of the shares sold and funds openly in these forums for all to see what is being worked on. Through Mike, game members would be hired to work on upgrades and updates for us all.

Mike gets 20% of the 80 shares sold with 80% of the money from the shares sold going to our upgrades then Mike gets 20% of the games profits with 80% of the games profits going straight to updates / upgrades and development.

This would allow Mike to work on the bathroom or whatever and us to work on our game.

Lets be Tycoons.

yeah man 80 members are definitely gonna shill out hundreds of dollars for shares in a failing niche text-based browser game, this is a great idea and will definitely work

If we as members can not come up with funds for 80 $400 shares then you all are some broke ass people. Work more, sell crack, sell your ass. Make it happen. Or maybe we make it 1000 shares @ $40 each.

Maybe we have 40 members who can buy 2 shares each or more. As long as no one member own more then 20 shares, Mike keeps control.

You know this game has people from all over the world right? You know how much $400 would be to some of them? And you want them to put it towards shares where they will get 0 financial return?

I understand what you are saying, but I also understand that we have members who can afford to help the rest of the members in this game.

So not only are you out of touch with the game, you're clearly massively out of touch with reality too. $400 is higher than the monthly salary of several countries, many of which players from this game hail from. There are barely any active players right now, let alone ones that will went to shell out hundreds of dollars on a fruitless endeavour with no returns or incentive. Even if they could afford it, only idiots would "invest" in your ridiculous share proposal.

Transitioning to something like this would also be a fucking massive headache for Mike, and do you think that is something he'd want to deal with? not a chance mate.

Senile mong.

have you seen the dem socialist thread we already know that

honestly i would like to see anything that makes the games advance more, via by whatever means -- but on same hand we can come up with a million ideas but in the end it's mike decision if / when he does anything -- i know after 10 yrs banging away at something and only catching hell for your actions can drive anyone away or get old especially when its a side deal -- it is interesting idea but will members have say so or try to influence certain things -- i do think at 400 there is no way it will happen at this time base is too small i think

First I'm gonna say 3 things:

1. I'm not sure I fully understand exactly how penn wants to do this.

2. I'm not versed in the UK laws and assume the UK is where Tycoon is based as a business

3. No idea how the business is set up, like LLC, sole proprietorship, or etc.

That being said you have the following issues:

1. Lawyer cost to draw up said contract

2. Possible changing of business to partnership or LLC

3. Fee's to do the #2 if applicable

4. Depending on how it's set up, a group of members could vote mike out or take control of said business

5. Why would I open myself up to litigation for 1 40.00 share if tycoon was ever sued or alleged in fraudulent actions for something of no possible financial gain but all the risk.

6. Sounds like a legal nightmare with several different countries being involved (most likely due to members locations)

7. Tax implications and or filings required (work) for members of shares

Well, you get the idea

This is not how it works when you sell / buy shares. It would be easy. Its just an idea to hopefully come up with something to move this game forward

You better do some checking. Again no idea how the business is set up, most likely a sole or LLC though, and you can't sell shares of on LLC, they have members not shares or shareholders.

Going public, no way, just drop the idea. If you could get even 10 people to agree on a model for that I'd be impressed.

What maybe could be done however is opening up the dev process some.

Mike probably doesn't see any business case in hiring someone for dev work on the game at this point. But what if he set up some specific improvements with a kickstarter-like funding? If people donate X amount towards feature Y he will hire an external developer to make it happen. People are already making donations, something like this would likely pull in more. Even if it doesn't end up in Mikes pocket it might still be a win-win as it would improve the game as a whole and renew interest in paying for VIP etc. maybe worth trying?

Disclaimer, I happen to be a developer. I even talked to Mike once about helping out with some work for the game, but nothing came out of it. This is not me looking for work, in fact I doubt I'd have time to take anything on right now, just throwing this idea out there. In a way I'm not even sure I'd want to look at all the source code and know how things work since that would take away from the fun of figuring it out which is a large part of playing this game. If I did take on any serious amount of dev work I'd probably stop playing.

I know of a new mobile app that is more or less identical to this game except for it simulates the fights in 3D and the training is on timers based on the level and shit like that, a few other minor differences like no TWGC or pure kickboxing, just MMA fights.

The game is in Beta testing right now and I am playing it, but if Mike were to sell to them, I can imagine they would have a lot of use for the algorithms, coding etc to improve their game engine and whatnot. They may even be able to improve this game if they take it over! And Mike could stay on as a consultant since he has years of experience in this already. If we could get Mike on board with a bigger project like that it would be awesome! They have over 100,000 people right now using the beta test version of the game and are constantly making improvements. Imagine if just a percentage of those users were to try out tycoon. And vice-versa with mmat users trying out their game too.

P.S. I am in no way implying that Mike has the time to work with another company but think of it like: if he can make some extra money for part time consulting wouldn't that be great?

What game is that? If it's on Android I'm downloading it.

Edit:

Just released you posted elsewhere that it's MMA Manager by Prey Studios. I got bored of it real quick.

He might be cautious of it, since the last time he had somebody help him from the game . he got screwed.
