TOKYO REBELS - UNRESTRICTED VIOLENCE

Rei

Recommended Posts

There has been rumours about Balder Bull returning to fight in Tokyo since the Tokyo Rebels promotion was first started up. This was further fuelled by him being present at the first two events getting plenty of screen time whenever the camera panned over the ringside seats.

Now it has finally been confirmed he will fight Justin Midget at Tokyo Rebels 3.

22w2.jpg vs 20b9.jpg

Balder Bull still enjoys a special status with the Japanese fans since the days at BFF where he was punching out anyone standing in front of his famous first round "Bull charge" attack. His finest moment was the legendary champion vs champion slugout against Jackson Boone with both fighters throwing power shots like there was no tomorrow. Bull won the battle but he lost the war. At the peak of his career he fell into some bad company, was frequently seen out late at sleazy Tokyo bars. Often in the company of people like Kaito Inuzuka known for their connections to some of the shadier business Rei was said to be running in Tokyo. It would have been bad enough if only half the rumours were true, yakuza involvement in BFF, investigations leading all the way to the top pointing at Rei himself before the organization was suddenly closed. But there was also the drug & alcohol abuse.

Balder Bull fell as quickly as he rose with 4 straight losses. As a crowd favourite he even became a Japanese cartoon character having fictional fights in the cartoon world against other legends of the sport like Ken Shamrock. Another thing he had in common with Ken Shamrock was lending his name to show wrestling after practically giving up his MMA career. At the time no one could see him ever returning to serious fighting even though he claimed he was still doing Muay Thai at The Race gym owned by Dw Fsps.

Eventually he did make it back to real MMA again and even to Tokyo with 3 fights in the last days of BFF. Among the chaos going on at the time with police raids and money laundering allegations he managed to show the old Bull still had it in him with two quick knockout wins and was also inducted in the HoF. Still he was now seen as a mid-tier fighter, an honoured old veteran but past his prime and unlikely to be more than a gatekeeper for the next generation of champions.

Tokyo Rebels has now attracted some of the very best fighters best fighters of the world. Is Bull fighting here a statement he is once again looking to hang with the big names? Could we eventually see Bull vs Boone 2 at TR? His next opponent is no unproven youngster. Midget got over 50 fights to his name and is a deadly grappler with his strength in the ground game which has always been the weakness for Bull. No matter the winner here the Tokyo fans are sure to enjoy seeing the two veterans battle it out at the Nippon Judokan arena, appreciating the history and the skill both fighters are bringing to this fight.

One thing speaking for Bull in this fight is that the previously successful Punch Out gym has now been reopened and is once again offering top level MMA training. While many of the big names coming out of there in the past are now retired from the sport the ranks have been strengthened with an influx of fighters previously trained under Alex K now coming from the Stepdads to join La Familia. In addition fellow ex-boxer Glass Joe is still going strong in his MMA career and is now training with Bull once again.

Welcome back legend! TOKYO REBELS wouldn't be the greatest without The Bull making an appearance!

"Sorry old timer but I don't have much of a say in these things - you've had your time but unfortunately the powers that be have decided that I send you on your merry way - now if you can only wear your listening aid long enough to hear the phone ringing you can take the call from your manager and we can get this out of the way"

HW Title Fight Main Event

Orpheus "Big Guy" Boagrius (MMA 45-10; TR 1-0) vs. "Blessed" George Peterson (MMA 2-1; TR 1-1)

Our third & final HW bout of the evening just happens to be our main event which is headlined by former top ranked KT fighter "Blessed" George Peterson & current Synchronicity & Tokyo Rebels Heavyweight champion, Orpheus "Big Guy" Boagrius!

Peterson has a huge opportunity to skyrocket up the SHW MMA rankings as he has recently returned to the world of MMA after briefly dabbling in it over 5 years ago. Peterson is leaving behind a 13 year tenure in KT which saw him become ranked #1 in the world at SHW. Peterson earned his title shot with an epic comeback via a naaasty knee that separated the 741 lb behemoth Simon Udovich (MMA 9-10; TR 0-2) from consciousness.

Even at 38 years-old, Orpheus"Big Guy" Boagrius is showing no signs of slowing down as he's been nothing but a dominant force for over two decades in the SHW division & is still ranked amongst the Top 5 SHW's in the world. As of late, Orpheus has been on a 4-year long, 9-fight winning streak & has taken out big names such as Rocket Bob Frankels, Diarmuid Curry, Kimbo Slice, & many more. In his last fight, Boagrius took on Top 10 Ranked Nicolas Muller (MMA 32-21-1; TR 1-1) of whom he brutalized in the clinch & finished in the mount for a savage TKO.

This fight will undoubtedly be a kickboxing match in MMA gloves so the question is, who will get the KO? The SHW MMA legend Orpheus Boagrius or the KT Veteran George Peterson?

SHW Co-Main Event

Samuel "Budo" Nti (MMA 24-6; TR Debut) vs. Jean Paul Garcon (MMA 33-15; TR Debut)

Our 2nd Heavyweight fight & Co-Main event is between the former Budokai Fighting Federation SHW champ, Samuel "Budo" Nti, & the former MMA Helsinki & Claymore Elite Combat HW champ, Jean Paul Garcon!

The Ghanaian brawler "Budo" got a late start in MMA at the age of 25 but boy has he made up for it. Nti has punched his way to 24 (T)KOs victories in just six years with 20 of them coming in the 1st round.

The French MMA veteran Jean Paul Garcon is looking to achieve success in the twilight of his athletic career following his recent departure from Claymore Elite Combat, an organisation where he was once champion & spent 12 years at. This deadly Frenchman boasts power with both feet & hands and even has a pretty solid Guillotine in his arsenal.

A fun little statistic, both fighters have 24 (T)KOs under their belt so expect dynamite. Will it be Samuel Nti's thin skin that betrays him? or will it be Jean Paul Garcon's questionable chin that'll be his undoing?

HW Main Card Bout

Nicolas "Bloody Slayer" Muller (MMA 32-21-1; TR 1-1) vs. Kenrick "The Beast" Nikil Jr (MMA 11-8; TR 2-0)

Kicking off our first set of Heavyweight fights, we have former USFC HW & DUEL SHW champ, Nicolas "Bloody Slayer" vs. "The Beast" of Canton, OH: Kenrick Nikil Jr!

"Bloody Slayer" is well known for his knockout prowess as he has finished 30 of his 32 fights via (T)KO. Unfortunately, Nicolas came up short when challenging for the Tokyo Rebels HW title against Boagrius. Since then he's rebounded nicely against Jack Bullet (MMA 13-7-1; TR 1-1) when he knocked him down with two big right hands before putting him out of his misery with a mean left hook in the 2nd round.

"The Beast" is a talented wrestler turned Mixed Martial Artist from Ohio, a state known for its standout wrestlers. Though his career has had its ups & downs, Nikil is currently on a 3-fight win streak with his latest victory coming over MMA veteran William Volkov (MMA 21-3; TR 1-1) were we saw Nikil lock up a kimura that had Volkov screaming in pain as he tapped out.

I have feeling that whoever picks up the W in this fight will be very close to a title shot.

LHW Main Card Bout

Wallace Cobb (MMA 13-4; TR 1-0) vs. Matt "The Notorious Gambler" Lethal (26-13-4; TR 1-0)

It's Scotland versus the US of A in this LHW bout as the ferocious Wallace Cobb takes on former GAMMA Contenders champion, Matt "The Notorious Gambler" Lethal!

The ever dangerous Wallace Cobb is riding high on a 8-fight win streak that spans over that last 8 years. His last opponent, Bo Teebs (MMA 16-17; TR 1-1), was knocked unconscious by a massive lead left hook from Wallace. Previous to his last couple fights, personal issues caused Cobb to take 3 years off & he is looking forward to making up for lost time.

"The Notorious Gambler" has fought many a talented fighter throughout his storied 20-year career. However, Matt hasn't achieved much in the way of titles, something that has frustrated his fans & himself a like. Matt certainly made his intentions clear here at Tokyo Rebels last fight when he KO'ed Alejandro Scott (MMA 15-11; TR 0-1) with an uppercut from hell. With his skillset, he knows he has what it takes to achieve that elusive gold strap here at Tokyo Rebels.

Will it be the rising Wallace Cobb or the crafty veteran in "The Notorious Gambler" who walks away the winner?

WW Main Card Bout

Gorgeous Bob (MMA 13-8; TR Debut) vs. "The Highlander" Robert Drummond (MMA 11-5-1; TR Debut)

Opening our main card is a battle between Europeans as Finland's Gorgeous Bob & Scotland's "The Highlander" Robert Drummond collide!

Gorgeous started his MMA career at the tender age of 16 & has shown the willingness to take a punch in order to give two back. Whether it be on the feet or on the ground, Bob is always looking to finish. Similar in style, "The Highlander" is a well rounded Mixed Martial Artist just like his opponent albeit a little bit more cautious as his last 5 fights have all ended via decision. Robert has proven though that when his opponent least expects it, he can turn it up & finish the fight.

This is an intriguing match as both fighter's typical routes to victory are unlikely, Drummond has never been (T)KO'ed & Gorgeous Bob has never lost a decision.

MAIN CARD PREVIEW BY Dillooo

Main Event

Bantamweight Championship

© Takeru Kubota (21-3-1 TR: 1-0) vs. Chamuaknoi Sitsongrit (17-5 TR: 0-0)

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14889159185285.png http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15665109358872.gif

http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20191130155602TR.png

Kubota- Takeru Kubota is a 28 year old whose held titles in EFA, TAFC, and NSC and is now the Tokyo Rebels 135 champ. He won his first title at the young age of 20 years old after beating 10-0 Matvey Pavlov by an incredibly close and hard fought split decision at EFA 41. He went on to defend the EFA crown a total of 5 times before the companies closure. He then went on to fight for NJMMA, DARE, and IFC before joining TAFC and capturing their inaugural 135 belt at TAFC 1, and defending the belt 3 times before losing it to Snake Duanesboy. He went on to win one more fight in TAFC before joining NSC and becoming the promotions 135 champ at NSC 51, remaining the champ until the organization closed. He then won the Tokyo Rebels 135 belt against inaugural champ Oskar Friman in his TR debut, and now he's looking to defend it once again, continuing to build up his luxurious belt cabinet.

Sitsongrit- Chamuaknoi SItsongrit is a 27 year old Muay Khao specialist whose also a former RFL 135 champion. Sitsongrit has also fought for SyFi (Sydney Fights) and the illustrious GAMMA and now is making his Tokyo Rebels debut on this card. Sitsongrit started at SyFi 45 with a KO of Lotus Flower. He lost his next contest at SyFi 57 by Unanimous Decision. Following the loss at SyFi 57 he went on a resurgence that saw his SyFi record end with a 5 fight tear before being signed to Rise Fight League and winning his RFL debut in 23 seconds by TKO at RFL 52. He once again lost his next fight for the promotion by Unanimous Decision but this time it was for the 135 title against the 135 champion: Glass Joe. After the loss once again he came back from the loss with a TKO of Kisada Hida at RFL 60 which awarded him with another shot at Glass Joe, this time winning the fight by Split Decision to become the new RFL 135 champion. He defended the belt twice before losing the belt to Sergei Petrov, winning one more fight in RFL against Great Tiger, before losing his final fight in RFL to Henrique Gusmao for the 135 belt. After his RFL run he went on to join the GAMMA roster, hoping for a title run he went 4-1 under the GAMMA banner before signing to Tokyo Rebels. Sitsongrit is looking for another belt for his cabinet, and what better way to do that than in his debut in Japan?

Co- Main Event

Lightweight Bout

Justin Midget (33-20 TR: 1-0) vs. Kaito Inuzuka (19-9 TR: 1-0)

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/20/20b9.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15341048963961.png

Midget- Justin Midget has had a very long and storied career at 41 years old, fighting under the banners of multiple promotions, if we were to catalog his entire career we'd be here all night, so we'll try to condense this as much as possible. Justin Midget has fought for some more well known promotions such as: PFC (Pulse Fighting Championship), DUEL (GAMMA: DUEL), and CEFC (Canadian Extreme Fighting Championship). Midget even at one point was a two time PFC lightweight champion, and held the EFL belt for his entire tenure with the company. Midget made his Tokyo Rebels debut at TR 3 when he caught Balder Bull in a Kimura in the very first round, and now he's looking to create a win streak in the Tokyo Rebels organization starting with a win over Inuzuka.

Inuzuka- Kaito Inuzuka is coming in 10 years younger than his opponent at a ripe young age of 31 years old, he took up catch wrestling at a young age and excelled at the art. After failing to qualify for the preliminaries for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Japanese olympic wrestling team Kaito decided to take his chances at MMA starting with a tournament known as LoL 1 (League of Leagues), with a 14-2 record in the LoL tournament, Kaito was eliminated in the first round of the LoL playoffs, afterward receiving a contract for BFF (Budokai Fighting Federation). After losing his BFF debut to Jackson Boone he came back with a submission win over Balder Bull, leading to him challenging the man who eliminated him from the LoL tournament for the 265+ belt at BFF 63, putting a x in the trilogy by way of slick 18 second submission. He'd go on to lose his belt against Samuel Nti at BFF 67. He'd win won more under the BFF banner against Shaquille ONeal, going on a losing streak before the companies closure. After the closure of BFF he made his debut in Tokyo Rebel's against Flower Child Arlo Rochester, besting him by armbar 48 seconds in round 2 at TR 5. Inuzuka is looking to create a win steak under the Tokyo Rebels banner and maybe snatch another title in the future.

Main Card Bout

Lightweight Championship

Rico Cole (27-14-1 TR: 2-0) vs. Marat Magomedov (22-11-3 TR: 1-0)

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14523802642604.png http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14699188529266.png

http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20191130155602TR.png

Cole- Rico Cole is a veteran in the game with 42 bouts under his belt, Rico has fought under numerous banners and even was a finalist at TWGC 18, but despite fighting under the numerous banners he has, he's only held the belt in one of he organizations. A former DFC 155 champ, Cole has been under many banners in his MMA career and has shown a willingness to fight anyone and anywhere. He made his Tokyo Rebels debut at TR 1 winning by way of Unanimous Decision in a dominant showcase against Juu Dyon, doing the exact same thing his next time out at TR 4 against Bruno Tepes. The Brooklyn native is looking to bring another belt back home with him, hoping to win his first title since 2016.

Magomedov- Marat Magomedov hails from a harsh enviornment, and the storied career of this Dagestan native is a first hand look at that harsh enviornment. He has shown that he's also willing to take on all comers, and has shown that he's always going to show up as evident by the 3 promotions he has held titles for and his stints in Pride FC AND Syn. He's held titles in DFC, DARE, and Carnage. However he has not won a title since 2017. Magomedov made his Tokyo Rebels debut at TR 4, completely dominating John Brown from start to finish for a well deserved decision. After his dominant debut he was given a chance at the 155 title here tonight and he's hoping, just like his opponent, to add another belt to his dusty old belt cabinet.

Main Card

Middleweight Bout

Darnell Cane (22-14-1 TR: 0-2) vs. Octavio Saades (11-4 TR: 0-1)

Cane- Darnell Cane is a street Brawler from the sunny city of Los Angeles. He started his career by doing backyard fights on DVD and selling them under the radar to those close to him, he later debuted his backyard fights on YouTube which gained him much prominence and the eyes of a couple of MMA managers that saw potential in him. Cane is a former MMA Helsinki champion defending the title once before losing the title to the very man he beat for said title. Cane has had a storied career with stints in CEC, NSC, and EFC, all of which are premier promotions. Unfortunately his Tokyo Rebels career has started off on the wrong foot with 2 losses both by decision at TR 1 and TR 3. Cane is looking to get himself back into the win column tonight.

Saades- Octavio Saades is considerably younger than his opponent by 8 years, which should give him an advantage, his only disadvantage being Cane's experience. Saades comes from RFL and TAFC with records not to gawk at in the promotions, even fighting for an RFL title, coming short in his title bout 28 seconds in the first round by devastating KO. He came back by winning his last fight in RFL by KO before being signed to AEW and winning his debut by KO, earning himself a title shot. He fell short once again in his title bout, this time by decision against the current Tokyo Rebels Middleweight champion. The AEW promotion would close soon after and he would make his Tokyo Rebels debut at TR 4 in the main event against Ibrahim Camara. Saades just like cane, is looking to climb into the win column tonight.

Main Card

Bantamweight Bout

Oskar Friman (13-8 TR: 1-1) vs. Kron Silva (29-14-2 TR: 1-1)

Friman- Oskar Friman is an accomplished wrestler with stints in EMP and EFC. He comes in 10 years younger than his opponent which will definitely give him a physical advantage. Friman even took part in TWGC 21, making it to the finals, only to be eliminated in the very first round. Despite this his wrestling has helped him continuously win fights, even a hard fought decision against Nathan Wallace who was making hid 135 debut at the time of the fight. After the closure of EFC, Friman was signed to Tokyo Rebels, making his debut against Timur Frunze for the inaugural 135 belt, and dominating Frunze from start to finish. However he would lose his belt to current Tokyo Rebels bantamweight champion Takeru Kubota, being dominated in a similar fashion to the Frunze fight. Friman is looking to coming back from the upset and get back to his belt soon.

Silva- Kron Silva is an incredibly accomplished BJJ red belt, winning several national championships and a few international championships. His grappling career is well known due to his red belt status. Due to his grappling abilities, he has won 2 promotional belts in his career, becoming a Havoc Fighting League champion and also a Legacy champion. Silva unfortunately had a bad start to his Tokyo Rebels career. In his debut he was expected to make short work of Brown Belt Nathan Wallace, many thinking it would end in submission early, however to the upset of many including Silva; Wallace was able to stuff the takedown attempts early, leading him to land a brutal head kick that put Kron away in the first round. In Silvas second fight however he completely dominated and made easy work of Frank Rizzo at TR 4. Silva wants to continue the streak and hopefully run it back against Wallace, but first he has to get through Oskar Friman first.

Preliminary Bouts:

Kazuma Kuwabara (13-7-1 TR: 0-1) vs. Lain Reilly (22-26 TR: 0-1) 205LBS

Emilio Rojas (17-13 TR: 1-0) vs. Akio Kurosaki (4-3 TR: 1-0) 155LBS

Bruno Tepes (24-18-1 TR: 1-1) vs. John Brown (33-42-3 TR: 0-1) 155LBS

Tyler Durden (27-17-2 TR: 0-2) vs. Severo Del Bosque (24-28 TR: 0-1) 155LBS

Frank Rizzo (5-3 TR: 0-1) vs. Castor Rollins (44-33-1 TR: 0-1) 135LBS

Main Event

Heavyweight Championship Bout

© Orpheus Boagrius (46-10 TR: 2-0) vs. Gauthier Delsarte (18-6-1 TR: 0-0)

Boagrius- Big Guy Orpheus is coming into this bout making his second defense of the Tokyo Rebels Heavyweight crown after two first round TKO finishes to capture the crown and defend it respectfully. Boagrius is a man of many belts, holding belts in: Synchrosity, HELLBENT Combat Club, Generations, MMA Gods, and HFC. His incredible title runs brought him to top 5 in the world at one point for pound for pound fighters, and at 38 years old, despite being past his prime he's showing signs of not slowing down with 46 wins and all wins coming by way of KO or TKO. Boagrius is looking to continue his incredible run by running through Delsarte, who he finished in 37 seconds back at Syn 639, Orpheus is looking to repeat that tonight at TR 8.

Delsarte- Gauthier Delsarte is coming into this bout 3-2 in his last 5 fights, a former Gamma Contenders champ, Delsarte has had stints in many of the top organizations such as: GAMMA, Pride FC/ Inferno Combat Series, Gamma Contenders and Rising Stars, and Synchrosity. Delsarte and Boagrius have met once before in the main event of Synchrosity 639, this was Delsarte's only Syn appearance, falling to the Tokyo Rebels champ in 37 seconds. Delsarte is looking to add another belt to his resume and to make up for the embarrassment he suffered at Syn 639.

Co-Main Event

Welterweight Bout

Buddy Barnett (14-6-1 TR: 0-1) vs. Chiku Maneno (47-31-3 TR: 0-0):

Barnett- Buddy Barnett is a former KONFLIKT Tournament winner and 2 time KONFLIKT 185 champion, and Inaugural DropKick Cage Warriors 185 champion who also had a stint in Skrap Fights/ ETERNITY with a record of 7-4-1. He made his Tokyo Rebels debut against Alessandro Orsini in the main event of TR 5 for the Tokyo Rebels 170 crown, falling short by way of an extremely hard fought decision that he felt could have went his way. Buddy is coming into this bout looking for a win to bring him back to the title and a rematch with Orsini, but first he has to welcome the veteran Maneno to Tokyo Rebels.

Maneno- Small Head is coming into this bout with a long and storied career and 17 years older than his young opponent. Maneno has had stints in Syn and Legacy, and had an extremely long stint in the long running Canadian Organization Ontario Fight Club, winning the title on two separate occasions. He recently had a stint in the late organization EFC, also coming razor close to winning the Christmas 2019 World Grappling championship. He's looking to make his debut here tonight and move on to snatch the Tokyo Rebels crown in the long run.

Dave Beast (17-11 TR: 1-0) vs. Mason Norris (10-9 TR: 1-0):

Beast- Dave Beast is a young gun with already so many fights on his resume, even though he's a year younger than his opponent, he has a considerable amount of experience compare to his opponent who is also quite experienced, Beast has had stints in Empyrean, PSE, and EFC, challenging for a Beatdown title twice in his career before moving onto those bigger organizations. Though he has never held gold in his MMA career, he's still rather young at 29 and looking for his chance to win gold, starting with his Debut here in Tokyo which he won by way of TKO in round 2 at TR 3. He looks to continue his road to the title by getting through Mason Norris.

Norris- Loose Change is coming into this Tokyo bout with a win over Benjamin Sigfridsson vis round 3 TKO at TR 5. Mason Norris is a former CEC Challengers champion, and even had a stint in GAMMA:DUEL before the companies closure, even having a positive record with the company. Before coming to Japan, Norris has a stint in Montreal at the Madness Organization, leaving with a not so bad record of 6-3 before coming to Tokyo and winning his debut. He's hoping to move toward a title shot by going through the young veteran Dave Beast.

Welterweight Bout

Sameh Mahmoud (39-13 TR: 0-0) vs. Vincente Lafayette (40-24-1 TR: 0-0):

Mahmoud- Sameh Mahmoud comes into this bout with an incredible combat background that predates his chronicled MMA career. Sameh started out as a personal bodyguard to the late Saddam Hussain, and trainer to the Republican Guard. Shortly after becoming an US informant and being pardoned and protected by the US he began his MMA career. He started out by becoming a champ in KnockOut FC 205 champion, also becoming a champion in MMAHelsinki and Synchrosity, having a long career with both organizations before eventually parting ways to take over Asia, which he hopes to begin in his debut tonight.

Lafayette- Vincente Lafayette has had a long MMA career, whether it predates it just like Mahmouds? We'll never know. But what we do know is Lafayettes MMA history which shows his championship stints, Legacy, Havoc Fighting League, and OFC, but also GAMMA:DUEL. Most recently he held a title in the late Xtreme Fights organization, holding the belt until the companies closure which lead to him coming over to Japan to continue his championship career. He looks to continue that career with a win over the scary Sameh Mahmoud in his Tokyo debut.

Main Card Bout

Middleweight Bout

Luiz Franca (13-6 TR: 1-0) vs. Dominick De Struicao (23-17 TR: 0-1):

Franca- Luiz Franca is coming into this bout fresh off of a win at TR 5 with a 45 second submission of the night against Kabala Magaluff, this isn't Franca's first stint in Japan, having a stint here before in Budokai Fighting Federation, fighting for a title infront of a Japanese crowd twice, unfortunately falling both times. He looks to make another run at the belt after his impressive debut by taking down the veteran Dominick De Struicao, which will prove to be a tough challenge for Franca.

De Struicao- Dominick comes into this bout off of a loss to Victor Tellegio, falling by hard decision at TR 5, but that doesn't nullify the career Mister De Struicao has had. A former Epicity champion, Dominick has also had stints in NSC, CEC, and XF before coming to Japan, hoping to continue his career or end it in style infront of one of the most legendary audiences in MMA. However tonight he's looking to come back from the decision loss and crawl back into the win column.
