INFERNO COMBAT SERIES 25 PREVIEW

WOMBLEY ARENA

Xavier: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Inferno Combat Series and specifically, welcome to ICS 25! In the booth with me tonight is the forthcoming Furious Styles!

Styles: That’s an interesting word to use for me, X, but I suppose I am something that’s going to happen in the near future, as in, I’m going to help you break everything down to the cellular level throughout this broadcast, so yeah, I’ll take forthcoming!

Xavier: I’m glad you approve, Styles.

Styles: I know you do!

Xavier: Right. As always, we have an exciting evening of cage combat lined up for your enjoyment, fight fans, so let’s get down to brass tacks! There will be two Featherweight fights, one of which is for the Featherweight championship, two Lightweight, one of which will be for the Lightweight championship, one Middleweight, three Light Heavyweight and two Heavyweight fights round out the action!

Styles: That’s a great mix of weight classes and we’ll once again bear witness to seeing some very fast fighters as well as some very hard-hitting monstrosities! I know you typically kick off the show, X, but I’ll get the ball rollin’ tonight! Speaking of monstrosities, see what I did there, Mon Ster and Johnny Drama get the cage brutality started!

Xavier: Yes, I saw what you did there with monstrosities and Mon Ster. Very clever.

Styles: And you know this, man! Mon Ster brings his cool sunglass-wearing chill attitude and a 20-17 overall record! The Montreal, Canada product is well rounded with Golden Gloves boxing, excellent muay thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt to round it all out! This dude has had more managers than a rapper who can’t decide if they want to be trap, hip-hop, gangsta, mumble or freestyle! Despite the number of changes, he’s been able to string together two separate occasions of winning 4-fights in a row so the man deserves some credit! And, to top it off, he does have a championship title on his resume so that also deserves credit. His worst losing has been 2-fights in a row so he knows how to bounce back after a loss, a nod to his fighting spirit. As with all behemoths, he basically either knocks out his opponent or gets knocked out, but that’s what us fight fans love about the big boy division! Every so often you’ll have a submission specialist but overall, the big boys just want to see who can bleed or knock out their opponent the fastest! He’s made men bleed and he’s bled so anything is possible in this fight against Drama tonight! Mon Ster does want to avoid losing that taboo third fight in a row so he’s going to have to make sure he lands those high-impact shots early and often to put this fight to bed if he wants to break his current losing streak! Since he’s taller and heavier, look for Mon Ster to try and slow down Drama by landing crushing strikes to his body and legs before looking for the knockout finish! He may even clinch him and lean that extra weight on Drama to slow down the action and make it easier for score the knockout victory!

Xavier: The 40-year-old “Vicious White Kid” Drama steps into this fight with a 29-19 record, so he obviously likes to fight a lot, and he’ll need to use that age and combat experience advantage tonight to avoid being relentlessly pummeled by the taller and much heavier Mon Ster here tonight! The purple-haired Londoner has had a few previous management teams so he’s familiar with dealing with various fight philosophies, but through all of that, he’s managed to amass a 5-fight winning streak while dropping 4-fights in a row! Unfortunately for Drama, the sole opportunity he had to become a champion fell to the wayside when he lost his battle against jean Paul Garcon at CEC 561 due to TKO in the third round. However, that obviously didn’t break his warrior spirit and the man continued to battle many times after that so he’s earned his due respect in this industry! To win this fight tonight, he’s obviously going to have to implore stick-and-move tactics to best exploit the speed and agility advantage he has over Mon Ster, and with his Golden Gloves boxing and excellent muay thai, he should be able to do just that! Avoiding being locked into a clinch is equally as important because he absolutely does not want that poundage weighing against him while he’s defending himself from explosive punching power being thrown at him up close and personal! I think Drama wins this fight by wearing out the taller and heavier Mon Ster by using the speed and agility advantages I mentioned plus chopping away at the big man’s legs and punishing his body until Drama positions himself for the knockout win!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Drama by KO; Styles – Mon Ster by KO

Xavier: The next two combatants into the cage will be Bill Goldberg and Alexander Gruzdev!

Styles: Hold on, now! The Bill Goldberg, the one who always yells, “Who’s next!?” and spits smoke out of his mouth after he has a bunch of pyrotechnics shot all around him?

Xavier: I’m not sure, Styles. Maybe it is him and he’s making a transition from the WWE to being a full-time MMA fighter.

Styles: Do you know what would be awesome? What if that is Goldberg and he forgot where he was and nailed someone with The Jackhammer!? That would be fantastic!

Xavier: Somehow, I don’t think that move would be allowed in an MMA cage, Styles.

Styles: Well, they should allow that!

Xavier: Moving on, “The Spear” Goldberg is 13-12 overall so he’s definitely had his ups and downs throughout his career.

Styles: 13-12 overall record? Hmm. That can’t be him, then, because he was something like 72-0 in wrestling, plus he doesn’t have a Mohawk because dude barely has any hair.

Xavier: I see your powers of observation continue to serve you well.

Styles: Yeah they do! Hey, hold up!

Xavier: Goldberg hails from Iselin, New Jersey, and has stayed with one management team so at least he’s consistent with his approach to training and combat! A 3-fight winning streak highlights his career while he’s also lost 3-fights in a row at most, so that pretty much explains the near .500 winning average he currently has. One thing that can be said about Goldberg is he has a straight-forward, no trepidation at all approach to fighting, and that has won him many fans because he’s dropped a lot of opponents with demolishing strikes! However, that style has also cost him some battles by being brutally knocked out as well, but he’s never bled out and he takes pride in that fact! He’s also only been involved in four fights that went the distance and he won each of those, so he could very well try to win the battle of endurance here tonight if he feels he can’t score the knockout against Gruzdev! To do that, he’s going to have to counterattack Gruzdev in the standup because from what we’ve seen, these men are basically evenly matched on the ground and, quite frankly, that could be a waste of time for the both of them when they’ve had much more success being vertical. Since Goldberg is solid all-round, he should be able to defend himself against the onslaught that Gruzdev is sure to bring. However, if Goldberg doesn’t start aggressively from the start and seek out Gruzdev’s chin, he could be in for a long night. That should be motivation enough for Goldberg to win this fight by knockout!

Styles: “Nagano” Gruzdev, whose nickname is for a mountain range, by the way, is 25-21 overall, so the 35-year-old immediately has a major fight experience advantage because he’s won as many fights as Goldberg has had in total! He’s also four years older so he can use that life experience advantage as well, but on the flip side, that does mean that Gruzdev has taken quite a bit of collective damage and that could very well allow Goldberg to have a better chance of furthering the damage that Gruzdev has endured! I have no doubt The Evil Empire representative knows how to get the job done in the cage and despite the amount of damage he’s taken over the years, having great instincts is something all good fighters can rely on and Gruzdev is no exception to that! Another advantage he has over Goldberg is he’s a former champion, and that happened when he defeated King Bo at DVD Asylum 15 by knockout in the second round! That occurred early in his career and with his second management team, but it happened nonetheless. Now with his fourth management team, he’s looking to break the current 3-fight losing streak he’s riding, and that so happens to be tied for the longest losing streak of his career! A 5-fight winning streak has been his best and he’s obviously looking to recapture that form here tonight against Goldberg. He’s shorter than Goldberg but has world class boxing ability and that skill level will absolutely make up for the lack of height in this fight! He’s also shown excellent muay thai ability so he can land those much-needed leg kicks whenever he can get inside of Goldberg’s defenses to help slow him down and set him up for the knockout shot that Gruzdev will seek and find! Gruzdev takes this fight home by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Gruzdev by KO; Xavier – Goldberg by KO

Styles: The intensity continues as Braulio Escobar and Huggle Muffin Sweetie Pie step into the cage! I’m not even going to comment about Pie’s very unique name because dude knows his name sounds like a Marie Callender’s bakery item. “Bang” Escobar and with a nickname like “Bang” tied with a last name of Escobar, that makes me a little nervous, X, because we all know a certain “Uncle Escobar” had been responsible for a lot of violence, and if Braulio is related to him, that could make things very awkward for a lot of people!

Xavier: What are you worried about? Pablo Escobar has one, been long dead and two, I highly doubt MMA Tycoon would allow a drug lord or a relative of into combat sports! Is there something you need to tell me as to why you’re worried?

Styles: Hell naw, and even if I did, that’s my business, dammit!

Xavier: Hey, relax, Styles! Geez, who pissed in your Cheerios this morning!?

Styles: Leave me alone! Anyway, the 36-year-old Mexican from Mexico City represents The Evil Empire with a 23-10-1 record! That’s a very good record and for good reason because his balanced skill set and aggression are a combination that’s quite successful. He has excellent standup ability with solid grappling and a black belt so he’s comfortable and capable in all facets of combat. He’s bounced around a bit in terms of management teams but despite that diversity, he’s managed to obviously battle his way to a winning record and, more importantly, he’s also tasted how it is to be a champion! During his tenure in GAMMA Rising Stars, he knocked out Harry Owen in the first round during RS 145 Killing In The Name Of. Great song by Rage Against The Machine, by the way, X. An 8-fight winning streak is the best of his career up to this point and a 3-fight losing streak is the downside of his career. Known in this industry as a knockout artist, he definitely has a good number of KO and TKO victories to his credit so Pie is going to have to keep his chin out of harm’s way or he’s going to be in for a very painful night! Escobar is 3-2 since stepping foot into ICS and he obviously wants to continue the momentum he’s built from his recent victory over Mark Steve by TKO in the first at ICS 16! Just a bit shorter but heavier than Pie, I expect Escobar to keep this fight vertical at all costs where he can best utilize his knockout power and make Pie adjust to him! By doing exactly that, Escobar will win this fight by knockout!

Xavier: Huggle Muffin Sweetie Pie, or Pie for short, represents Cromulent Doom and brings an 18-10 record into this fight! The grappler from Romulus, Michigan, at least I presume it’s Michigan, has shown his propensity for battling on the ground as he has outstanding grappling ability supported by a brown belt! His standup abilities are definitely respectable so Escobar can’t underestimate them, but it’s obvious Pie prefers the ground game. Currently with his third management team, Pie is a previous champion as well so both of these men have the deeper insight into what it takes to reach the top, but with that, neither of them will have a distinctive advantage, at least in my opinion. Yes, Pie doesn’t have as much combat experience as Escobar but that’s a very minimal advantage, if at all. A 4-fight win streak has been Pie’s best output while his worst is a 3-fight losing streak. The great news for Pie heading into this fight is he’s riding a 4-fight winning streak so his confidence is exactly where it should be! He has caught some opponents by surprise with his striking power so Escobar, again, can’t take him lightly and will need to ensure his striking defense is sharp or Pie could catch him clean and alter the course of this fight in the blink of an eye! Escobar is surely aware that Pie, however, has eaten some brutal strikes throughout his career as well and questions about his ability to take power has been questioned. The key for Pie is to obviously get this fight to the ground as soon as possible an keep it there so he can control the space and pace while frustrating Escobar and staying clear of his knockout power!

Building on his successful ICS debut is what will fuel Pie tonight and will lead him to submission victory over Escobar tonight!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Escobar by Submission; Styles – Escobar by KO

Xavier: The next two scheduled rams to butt heads will be Jargon Gin and Do Ho Joy!

Styles: Do Ho Joy? That sounds like some kind of kinky baked good!

Xavier: Kinky baked good? Where do you come up with this crap?

Styles: I told you many times that I’m clever, and it’s not crap! You just don’t appreciate good humor!

Xavier: Right. Anyway, Gin has fought his way to a respectable 14-7 record, and the Coruscant, Ireland, product represents Hitokiri-13.

Styles: Hold on. He says he’s from Coruscant?
Xavier: That’s what it says, Styles.
Styles: Well, I give dude credit. He’s fully committed to the whole Star Wars thing! I do want to know where he got that green lightsaber, though! That’s awesome!

Xavier: Just…wow. Moving on, Gin has excellent boxing ability with solid grappling and a purple belt, but his muay thai is surprisingly lacking as compared to what we’ve seen from him. Maybe his management team will make it a point to improve that aspect of combat in the near future because, obviously, every fighter wants to at least be decent to very good in all aspects of fighting. On two separate occasions, he’s strung together a 5-fight winning streak so he’s capable of taking momentum and running with it very well, but he’s made it obvious that his m.o., or modus operandi, is to knock the opponent out as fast as possible! He’s lost 4-fights in a row as well so he’s definitely a streaky fighter, plus he’s been in some nasty wars and has taken his share of punishment and damage, as expected! He hasn’t won a title as of yet but he’s only 27-years-old, so he absolutely has an opportunity to remedy that situation before the sun sets on his career. He’s currently riding the momentum of a 2-fight win streak so as usual, I’ll say the timing of that is great for this fight and his confidence is where it should be, especially coming on the heels of losing four fights in a row! He has a good weight advantage against Joy in this fight and he’s younger, so I expect him to try and use that weight advantage in the form of delivering thunderous strikes, specifically punches to the head! Joy will need to make sure his chin isn’t exposed or he’s going to have one hell of a headache in the morning! Gin will have to counterattack Joy with power shots because Joy’s skills are superior from what we’ve seen, and the longer this fight goes, the more in favor it is for Joy. Gin wins this fight by knockout!

Styles: Do Ho Joy, the baked goods man, is 21-11 overall! Hailing from Seoul, Korea, he represents the FinnFighters and has outstanding skills! A world class boxer, excellent muay thai practitioner, an outstanding grappler and a brown belt is what we’ve seen from this man, and the 32-year-old knows that his younger counterpart will be very aggressive in seeking a knockout and Joy will have to put those tremendous standup skills on full display! However, much to Gin’s chagrin, I’m a poet and you didn’t even know it, Joy is very educated and capable in the standup as his world class boxing and outstanding muay thai can attest to! Gin is going to have his hands full with Joy, that sounds kind of nasty now that I think about it, because the longer this fight stays in the standup and the longer Gin doesn’t knock Joy out, the more the advantage swings to Joy! Joy has had one management team so he’s very comfortable with that consistency and that has led him to being a former champion. That championship experience will definitely come in handy against the younger Gin. In the early part of his career, he knocked out a good number of opponents then had quite a run of decision battles but he still has sporadic knockout wins so Gin can’t be reckless with his defense or he could find out the hard way that Joy still has some blaster power in his guns! See what I did there? Damn, I’m good! Anyway, he recently beat Vasilios Megalos by TKO at ICS 11 in the first round so that’s proof he can still get the job done! He lost his last fight by unanimous decision to Jallu Pesonen so he’s obviously looking to turn around his recent loss. Joy keeps this fight standing and scores the knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Joy by KO; Xavier – Gin by KO

Styles: The next squabble we’ll beat witness to will be Oulu Laine versus Albert Van Rooy! Lane has obviously been through some battles and his facial bruising is the proof in the pudding. At 10-2 overall, he fights out of Oulu, Finland, and fittingly he represents the FinnFighters, and for being 32-years-old, having a total of 12 fights, as compared to the average 32-year-old we’ve seen in this organization, he’s relatively combat inexperienced. That doesn’t take away from his excellent record by any means so don’t get it twisted, but we’re just used to seeing men his age with 25 plus fights to their name. Laine is a well-rounded fighter with Golden Gloves boxing skills, very good muay thai ability, and excellent grappling. A purple belt supports all of that but he’s shown his preference for knocking an opponent out so Van Rooy can expect that to be the approach Laine takes in this fight! The two losses on his record are both from being knocked out so there are concerns about his chin and that translates to him having to keep his head moving with his hands up because he doesn’t want to test his ability to take a power strike from Van Rooy! Aggression will be the name of the game for Laine tonight to obviously minimize the opportunities to get knocked out while giving himself the best chance to land the fists of steel he’ll bring into this fight! A 5-fight winning streak is his best and he’s never lost two fights in a row, so the statistic odds are looking good for him. Add in the fact he’s on a 2-fight winning streak and that helps his momentum and confidence be where he wants them to be for this fight. He’s a bit taller and lighter so look for him to use the assumed speed advantage by unloading rapid accurate strikes while looking for the knockout he wants. Laine will get the knockout tonight and improve upon his very good record!

Xavier: Van Rooy steps into this fight with an 18-12 record, and the seasoned veteran from Eindhoven, Netherlands, represents The Evil Empire with consistency from his only management team. A 3-fight winning streak is his best while losing 2-fights in a row is his worst. Unfortunately for Van Rooy, he’s only had one championship opportunity and that didn’t go well because Gyukosho Fujimoto rocked him in the first round of their fight at TAFC: Fujimoto vs. Van Rooy. The 28-year-old obviously has an experience advantage tonight over the older Laine and he’ll need it against the aggressive knockout artist! Van Rooy has looked sharp in his previous two fights as he won both by knockout. What’s more impressive is he won each of them with his punches and kicks, so he’s shown he can be dangerous in the standup from all angles! He’s obviously taken a lot more punishment and damage so he, like Laine, will look for the early knockout because he’s at a disadvantage the longer this fight progresses. His approach will be a bit less aggressive in my opinion because he can use Laine’s aggression against him effectively. Van Rooy can counterattack Laine while keeping his chin safe and that’s the intelligence approach to this fight. The weight advantage he has tonight could give him just enough extra power in his strikes to level Laine’s jaw and score the knockout he wants. Van Rooy wins this battle by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Van Rooy by KO; Styles – Laine by KO

Xavier: PutinYa OnYerKiester and Luc Gagnon are the next two brawlers to throw down in the cage!

Styles: I’ve said enough about Kiester’s name to not go in on him, but he knows where I stand about his name. Unreal.

Xavier: That’s very considerate of you, Styles.

Styles: Yeah, I know.

Xavier: The humility is overwhelming. Moving on, Kiester brings a 16-9 record, and the Vendetta representative from London is a world class boxer, solid muay thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt. The 28-year-old has only been with one management team, so the combat philosophy and training has been very consistent for him. He also earned a championship by defeating Shane O’Brien by TKO in the first round at Evolution Stage 9! As always, the championship experience is very valuable and may very well carry him to the top in this fight. A 6-fight win streak is the best he’s been able to string together while dropping 4-fights in a row is the downside of his career. Kiester has displayed very reliable and dangerous knockout power so Gagnon will need to be on high alert tonight! Kiester has struggled recently both with winning and staying conscious and you better believe Gagnon has taken mental notes about that. Since that’s an issue over his last two fights, which both of the have ended in the second round, Kiester will have to be as aggressive as possible while having his head on a swivel and eyes all around his head because he can expect Gagnon to head hunt him in this fight! A bit taller and with more weight than Gagnon, Kiester can use that extra weight while he goes for the knockout and that will definitely help his cause tonight. Kiester gets the knockout victory tonight.

Styles: “Cool Hand” Gagnon is 23-10 overall and the 31-year-old from Gatineau, QC, Canada, represents The Stepdads in this fight. A well-rounded fighter who has Golden Gloves boxing, excellent muay thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt, he can get the job done in all facets of combat. Gagnon is with his fourth management team so he’s had some diversity to deal with but that didn’t stop him from being a multi-time champion! Gagnon definitely has the championship experience advantage and that obviously bodes very well for him. A 5-fight win streak has been his best and a 2-fight losing streak is his worst. Gagnon has proven to be capable of making opponents nap or tap so Kiester will have to be on top his game in all facets! Gagnon could opt to try his luck in the clinch and see if he can unleash more damage than he absorbs while being very up close and personal because yes, he can opt to try and end the fight by locking in a submission, but that may prove to be more difficult than expected because Kiester has proven capable of keeping himself safe while battling on the ground and he could possibly catch Gagnon off guard with an unexpected submission attempt! I think Gagnon prefers to take his chances in the vertical game where he’ll be able to take full advantage of his striking power plus rely on his striking defense to help him avoid being on the receiving end of major damage. Gagnon gets the knockout tonight in a very aggressive battle!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Gagnon by KO; Xavier – Kiester by KO

Styles: Tony Monteiro and Ryan Riggs are the next tigers to be released into the cage. “Black Mamba” with a green beard, go figure, is 22-17 overall, and The Evil Empire member from Barneveld, Togo, is a very highly skilled fighter. The 35-year-old is a world class boxer, outstanding muay thai practitioner, Olympic-level grappler and a black belt, he brings knowledge, experience, ferocity and capability! Needless to say, Riggs will have one hell of a fight on his hand tonight! Monteiro has had a multitude of managers throughout his career, so it speaks volumes that he was able to capture a championship when he defeated Randy Springs at UVC 5 in the first round! He’s managed to put together a 6-fight win streak in the early part of his career, but he also suffered some brutal knockouts and that remained the case throughout his career. On the flip side of streaks, he’s lost 5-fights in a row and definitely wants to avoid a losing streak of that magnitude again. He looked good in his recent fight against Mike Murhaa at ICS 16 by knocking him out in the first round. That avoided a two-fight losing streak so that’s definitely a confidence booster. Being involved in so many battles that resulted in knockout wins and losses, it’s obvious that Monteiro has one gear and that’s full steam ahead! That’s dangerous for both of these fighters tonight because it only takes one mistake for that chin to be exposed and dented by a clean power strike! Although he’ll take some damage in the process, Monteiro will land the knockout blows tonight against Riggs that stops him in his tracks!

Xavier: The shorter and heavier man is going to have to counterattack Monteiro in this fight because Monteiro could very well level him with kicks each and every time he tries to get close enough to Monteiro to land the power shots he’s looking to land! Riggs will have to risk taking some damage from Monteiro’s kicks to get in close and try to take this fight to the ground where he gives himself the best chance for victory. Riggs has Golden Gloves boxing with decent muay thai, but his grappling is on an Olympic level and that’s backed by a black belt, so like Monteiro, he’s very comfortable and dangerous on the ground! Currently with his second management team, he won a championship by knocking out Vincent Hanna in the first round at AFL Asylum 31! Two 6-fight winning streaks have highlighted his career around him being a multi-time champion, and the 35-year-old from Sydney, Australia, much like his opponent, has knocked out a good number of opponents and has tasted the wrong side of various knuckle sandwiches so he’ll have to use intelligence and will power each time he takes a power strike to the head! His last fight was a bloody affair that he lost at the hands of Link Gaetz at ICS 17 by bleeding out, so he’ll want to avoid that path at all costs! He could try to land power shots from the counterattack in an attempt to hurt Monteiro and slow him down before taking this fight to the ground where he can attempt to control the pace and score previous points on the scorecards. That’s a risky move, definitely, because of Monteiro’s skill level, but every time a fighter gets in the cage, he takes a risk, so that’s nothing new. Riggs wins a difficult matchup by submission!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Riggs by Submission; Styles – Monteiro by KO

Xavier: The next two warriors we’ll see in the cage will be Jack Daniels against Teodors Ozolinsh!

Styles: Somebody’s parents definitely liked gettin’ their party on with the name Jack Daniels! I be they’d be cool as hell to kick it with!

Xavier: They very well could be. “The Bottle” Daniels is 45-23-3 so this man obviously enjoys the art of combat. Another member of The Evil Empire, who will be rather busy tonight, the 44-year-old Tennessee native is well rounded, but I suppose that’s to be expected by an actively fighting 44-year-old warrior. Golden Gloves boxing, very good muay thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt is what this cantankerous veteran brings with him. Being 9 years older and having many more fights under his belt makes Daniels a very difficult fighter to surprise, so Ozolinsh may as well toss out any ideas of trying to trick Daniels or catch him off guard. Currently with his fourth management team, Daniels has accomplished the feat of being a multi-time champion so he can mix that in with his major combat experience. He’s put together an excellent 9-fight winning streak throughout his career and he’s lost 2-fights in a row a few times throughout his career, but never losing three fights in a row is a great tribute to his skill and will! Earlier in his career, he was able to knock out various opponents, but the vast majority of his fights have resulted in decisions so he’s very accustomed to having the battle of endurance. If that’s what takes place, then he knows how to score the vital points while staying out of harm’s way and that’s exactly what I expect to do in this fight. Daniels wins this by unanimous decision!

Styles: Ozolinsh is certainly no stranger to combat as the 35-year-old’s record is 28-14! Having achieved the two-to-one victory to loss ratio is a sign of being very good, in my opinion, because there are numerous fighters who never achieve that status, let alone become a successful fighter who is a multi-time champion suck as Ozolinsh is. Hailing from Kuldiga, Latvia, and representing the Keyboard Warriors, he’s a very solid fighter in all regards of combat. Golden Gloves boxing, outstanding muay thai, Olympic-class grappling and a brown belt round out what he brings into this fight against Daniels! He’s only had the one and only management team so he knows what he gets with them and vice-versa, and that familiarity has allowed him to put together a 4-fight win streak as the longest of his career while a 2-fight losing streak is his longest in that regard. His first taste of being a champ arrived when he defeated Tommy Gavin by unanimous decision at DARE 91, and his other two stints as champ were also by unanimous decision at Pride FC 57 and ICS 7, respectively. You can bank on it that he’ll utilize those experiences in this fight to help him get the job done against the older and more experienced Daniels! During the early portion of his career, he was involved in a lot of fights that ended in a KO or TKO and he became a very respected knockout artist. In fact, X, this man has never been knocked out! There aren’t many fighters that can say that these days, especially with some many fighters having titanium fists and iron shins, so that’s a great accomplishment, especially with the number of fights this man has been involved in! Knowing that he hasn’t been knocked out definitely gives Ozolinsh an edge in the standup and he can be very aggressive because it’s been proven he can withstand having his jaw detonated repeatedly without him caving in to knockout power. I fully expect Ozolinsh to go toe-to-toe with the elder Daniels and push the pace from start to finish to make Daniels prove he has the cardio to hang with Ozolinsh and the knockout power to slow him down. If Ozolinsh gets even a small hint that Daniels can’t accomplish either of those tasks then he’s going for the knockout like a man possessed! Ozolinsh wins by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Ozolinsh by KO; Xavier – Daniels by Unanimous Decision

Styles: Now we get to the championship fights, and kicking off the first one for the Featherweight championship features Cole Reynolds and Bed Intruder! Bed Intruder…oh, X, that’s just too easy! I can go off on a tangent but I’ll let you focus on that dude. Reynolds, the ever-intense champion, brings his 22-6-1 record and hard-hitting Sacramento attitude with, of course, the backing of The Stepdads, into this much-anticipated brawl! This champion, to no surprise, is world class in boxing and muay thai, Olympic-level in grappling and has earned a brown belt so, needless to say, the man gets it done, period! Technically with his third management team because one management team managed him twice, he established himself as a feared knockout artist when he won 10-fights in a row, and as of late, he’s on a 6-fight win streak so the champion is in excellent form, spirits and confidence! The ferocity and knockout power that’s served him so well will continue to be on display here tonight and Intruder knows full well he’s going to have to weather one hell of a storm if he has any chance of pulling off this victory and relieving the champion of his title! Also, the champ has never lost more than 2-fights in a row so he’s managed to avoid the taboo three-in-a-row while being one of the best champions in the business. He’s only been knocked out twice in his career so that’s going to be a tall task for Intruder to accomplish. In a nutshell, Reynolds is going to bring the heat, the fire and the smoke in this title defense and Intruder had better be at his best because if he isn’t, the Sactown product, that’s what the cool people in Sacramento call it, will keep the title in his grasp while chalking up another concussed victim on his hit list!

Xavier: Intruder, whose name definitely causes some concern on various levels but apparently it was approved by human resources and ICS management, steps into this title opportunity with a 28-14-1 record, so the Lincoln, Nebraska fighter has the experience advantage in this fight. The 33-year-old absolutely knows what he has to do tonight to emerge the champion and his world class boxing, excellent muay thai, Olympic-level grappling and black belt will absolutely be put to use in all aspects! Intruder is the taller and heavier man but he may try and actually take this fight to the ground to see if he can find success in the BJJ aspect of combat because, despite being taller, he’s obviously very adept on the ground and can possibly put the champion in bad positions and angles! Currently with his third management team, he had early opportunities to be a champion but came up short then, with his second management team, he finally achieved championship status by defeating Gary Tonon by unanimous decision at OFC 355: Jones vs. Puno! Obviously, he’s won other titles with his current management team so neither of these fighters will see anything surprising from the other man. That doesn’t mean Intruder can’t use intelligence to feint his way into better opportunities, however, and Reynolds definitely knows he can’t let his guard down against Intruder at any given point in time. Recently, Intruder has been involved in numerous decision victories so he may even opt to drag this fight to the ground after scoring points in the standup and forcing Reynolds to play the transition position game while controlling the action and scoring vital points on the judges’ scorecards. Intruder does have knockouts on his resume, no doubt, but I don’t think he has the power that Reynolds has, so wearing Reynolds down and controlling him will be the keys to victory tonight for Intruder. Intruder wins this fight by unanimous decision!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Intruder by Unanimous Decision; Styles – Reynolds by KO

Xavier: And, last but not least, we arrive at the final fight of the night with the Lightweight title on the line! Min-Sik Song and Tud Stoddler lay it on the line for the title and the champion, “Saja” Song, is a very impressive 30-9-1 overall. The Busan, South Korea, product who represents La Familia, has world class boxing, excellent muay thai, outstanding grappling, and a brown belt to round out what Stoddler will face tonight! The baby-faced champion has only been with one management team and, obviously, he’s enjoyed a great deal of success with this team. This is surprisingly the first time these two will face off but I doubt Stoddler will be able to catch Song off guard with anything because the 33-year-old champion has a lot of combat experience and has seen just about everything in that cage! A 7-fight winning streak has been the best in Song’s career up to this point while he’s dropped 2-fights in a row at most. Not known necessarily for having great knockout power, Song has been successful by being crafty, intelligent, and in tremendous shape because he takes no issues with taking his fights the distance while putting himself in dominant positions to score the vital scorecard points as he frustrates his opponents while causing them to fight his fight as opposed to fighting their fight. That approach may not put him in the upper echelon of the more popular fighters in the business, but winning is winning, as Vin Diesel said in “Fast and Furious”, and he obviously knows how to win. Slightly taller and lighter than Stoddler, I expect Song to use speed and agility to land timely strikes to put him ahead on the scorecards while keeping Stoddler at a safe distance, and when Stoddler does manage to get inside the defenses of Song, Song can then shoot in for the takedown and put the fight right where he wants it to be. Aggression, smarts and determination will win this fight for Song by unanimous decision!

Styles: “The Diddler”, which sounds like the title of a B-rated adult movie, brings a very good 23-6 overall record into this fight, and the Demolition champion knows what he needs to do to become a potential simultaneous multi-organization champion! The Manila product has world class boxing, very good muay thai, outstanding grappling and brown belt skills and he’ll need every bit of those skills if he’s going to dethrone Song tonight! Stoddler is five years younger than Song and I’ll assume he has the energy and cardio to hang with the speed and cardio that Song has shown throughout his career, so he’ll be able to keep himself in this fight, without a doubt. In my opinion, Stoddler has more knockout power than Song so he’s going to have to keep this fight in the vertical plane where he gives himself the best opportunity to win the title tonight! Song will definitely try and score points with various strikes as Stoddler tries to maneuver inside of his defenses so Stoddler will have to be wary of quick kicks and punches from Song that aren’t meant to hurt him but push Song ahead on the score, and that could be frustrating for Stoddler if he doesn’t keep himself calm and focused, which I don’t think will be an issue tonight! Currently with his third management team, Stoddler has managed to win two streaks of 8-fights in a row so he obviously knows what to do with momentum when he has it. Stoddler has been involved in many championship fights so he knows what pressure comes with being at the top and that will serve him very well in this fight as Song applies relentless pressure. I think Stoddler will match that aggression plus bring a lot more pop in his strikes than Song can and that will force Song to become a counter attacker, and when that happens, Song will be playing right into Stoddler’s hands because Stoddler can use feints to make the champion miss strikes and leave himself open for punishing blows from Stoddler! Stoddler wins another title tonight by knockout out Song!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Stoddler by KO; Xavier – Song by Unanimous Decision

Styles: Thank you, good people, for your time, patience and focus as always. Xavier and I are ever-grateful to all of you for that and we hope you’ve enjoyed this segment of previews for tonight’s fights!

Xavier: We’re absolutely grateful to all of you because without you, none of this is possible. Also, we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing for their great clothing options, which many of them are quite entertaining. Take care, everyone, and please continue to be safe and healthy. On behalf of Styles, I say good night and we’ll see you at the fights.

Dishonest as Fuck: Oh this is gonna be a great fight.

Inferno org throws a fucking werewolf at me next? No problem mate for this fight I cameback to Riga gym in London.

Fuck yeah Master Humors got me prepared for this fight. #heritaage #rideordiebitches

There is one thing people forget about London. Werewolf don`t scare London. They`ve been through this shit before.

For my next match Master Humors had me travel to the legendary Slaughtered Lamb pub, I trained with experienced werewolf hunters and slayed lots of overweight white chicks that I would rate a 5 only after 6 pints. Ate a lot of shitty food, experienced some crappy weather and watched plenty of replays of the english soccer squad failing time and time again to be relevant at the sport they supposedly invented.

England sucks.

If I win this one I might be able to move back to NYC that although infected is 1000000x better than England. The other option is our friend`s gym in Russia but Russia is tough on a naga like me so probably safer to stay in London.

Anyways enough about my trials and tribulations, Camp Camara rides again on dis bish !

INFERNO COMBAT SERIES 27 PREVIEW

WOMBLEY ARENA

Xavier: Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to Inferno Combat Series and specifically, welcome to ICS 27! In the booth with me tonight is the extravagant Furious Styles!

Styles: Extravagant? I can see some people thinking that about me, yeah, because I obviously have no problem goin’ in on some of these dudes with their wild names, so yeah, I’ll roll with that, X!

Xavier: I had a feeling that wouldn’t be an issue with you. Before we proceed, ladies and gents, we’re going to change the format of our presentation just a bit. Administration, along with Styles and I, have bounced around some ideas of how to make the information and insight we provide to all of you a bit easier to consume plus add an aesthetic touch to the whole package.

Styles: Aesthetic appeal is what I’m all about, X, because we both know I’m the good-looking broadcaster between the two of us and you’re the nerd.

Xavier: I am not a nerd! I enjoy researching and disseminating certain information, yes, but I keep up to date with the news, sports, and some entertainment, obviously, because we’re in this industry, plus I play some great video games as well!

Styles: Sure, you do all of that, but you have no, pun intended, style!

Xavier: I should have known you’d take it there!

Styles: Of course! It’s me!

Xavier: Anyway folks, we hope the modified format we present to you is easier to keep up with plus has a better look and feel to it. As always, administration, Styles and I are open to input, suggestions, and recommendations because we do what we do for all of you Inferno Combat Series fans! So, without further ado, let’s get down to business!

LIGHWEIGHT DIVISION: SASHA BELIY (19-14); CURRENT STREAK: 4 LOSSES VERSUS
PROPER COMMUNIST (10-7-2); CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS

Xavier: Kicking off the night of fights, Sasha “Alex K is GAY” Beliy squares off against Proper Communist!

Styles: You know I have to add my two cents about Beliy’s nickname, right?

Xavier: I expected nothing less.

Styles: All right. Obviously, Beliy has an issue with the manager named Alex K, who was the head of his first management team, but to have that as his nickname is definitely next level! I mean, I have my issues with some of the folks at Kitty Fisher’s Mayfair because they seem to always screw up my order, although they do have some damn good food, but I don’t know if I’d have my nickname reflect my displeasure. Now, I may wear a shirt that clowns Kitty Fisher’s because that’s the type of dude I am, so as I always say, to each their own. I just find it interesting that Beliy has his disdain reflected in his nickname. If it helps him fight better and snap his 4-losses in a row skid then hey, more power to him!

Xavier: Yes, Styles, the fact that Beliy is currently on a 4-fight losing streak is surprising but as you can see, he’s a very streaky fighter! Prior to the current losing streak, he won 4-fights in a row so he’s all about momentum, be it positive or negative. The San Bernardino brawler represents the LEGION OF DOOM tonight and keep in mind that he’s now with a new management team, his third overall, so he’s obviously looking to halt his current skid and pick up the win tonight for his new management team. The current streak doesn’t take away from this man’s accomplishments, however. He won a championship in only the second fight of his career, a very impressive feat, and successfully defending the title three times in a row! That championship experience and mettle will always serve him very well no matter the situation he’s facing. Add in the fact he has 33 fights of combat experience and that makes him a tough opponent each time he steps into the cage. He knocked out quite a few opponents in the early stages of his career so he definitely has the ability to make an opponent take an early nap, but on the flip side of that, Beliy has been knocked out 8 times, and the bad news for him is the losing streak has all been centered around TKO losses! Needless to say, Beliy is going to have to keep his chin tucked and his head moving against Communist or he may very well find himself in situations he doesn’t want to be in! He brings Golden Gloves boxing, excellent Muay Thai, Olympic-level grappling and a brown belt into this fight but to me, the key to victory tonight for Beliy is to keep this fight vertical and potentially lock Communist into a clinch where Beliy can utilize his excellent skills to keep Communist pressed against the cage where Beliy can unleash damage while avoiding having his chin cracked from the range Communist wants to do damage. Beliy wins this fight by staying up close and personal and knocking out Communist!

Styles: The fighter from Communist Commune, Russia, represents the FinnFighters in this fight, and we immediately see that Communist has nowhere near the amount of in-cage combat that Beliy has, but Communist can actually use that to his advantage. Having few fights, on paper, means he’s absorbed less damage than Beliy, and that, in turn, technically means Communist can take the chance of standing toe-to-toe against Beliy because Communist’s strikes could very well be more damaging simply due to Beliy having had his body pummeled by many more strikes than Communist has. Now, don’t get me wrong. Mental and physical toughness absolutely play a role in being able to withstand punishment. Some dudes get beaten to a pulp time and again yet keep coming back as if they have the constitution of a vending machine! Other dudes take enough and they fold like a poker player in Vegas who knows he’s got nothing in his hand. Communist is currently with his second management team and so far, he’s not been able to secure a championship, so that advantage is emphasized for Beliy as you previously mentioned, X. Communist’s current winning streak is well timed because he’s facing Beliy at a time where he’s obviously struggling plus Communist is feeling good and confident about himself, and he’ll need that confidence tonight! He brings world class boxing, very good Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt as well, so he can handle any situation Beliy presents him with. However, Communist will have to be careful of Beliy’s kicking ability plus he can’t let himself get wrapped up in a clinch with Beliy because that could prove costly in terms of time and energy spent battling in close quarters instead of at the range Communist wants to be where he can fully utilize his boxing skills! Communist has never been knocked out so he definitely has confidence in his chin and that fact could fuel more aggression from him in taking the chance of trading strikes with Beliy. Communist wins this fight by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Communist by KO; Xavier – Beliy by KO

FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION: QUAN LE (24-9-1); CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS
VERSUS
CARL KINGSTON (26-9); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Styles: “Chien Binh” Le, the 30-year-old from Hanoi, Vietnam, and representing the Keyboard Warriors, has been fighting well lately, as evidenced by his current win streak. Le has had an interesting path in terms of his management team. He’s actually had the same management team twice so perhaps there was a reconciling between Le and his management team at that point in time, but regardless, he’s technically with his third team, and has had the most success with this team. Looking at the entirety of Le’s career, he’s been involved in a very high number of decision fights so he’s not known as a knockout threat by any means, and that could mean he’ll face a very aggressive Kingston here tonight! Le has obviously proven he can handle an opponent’s very aggressive approach to fights because he’s won the majority of the decision fights and has full confidence in his ability to win the war of attrition. Although somewhat later in his career, Le does have a championship to his name and he achieved that when he defeated Vika Partio by unanimous decision at NSC 42: Wolf vs. Boston, so he does have that very valuable championship experience he can rely on if the fight doesn’t progress the way he wants it to! His best winning streak has been 6-fights in a row so the current streak he’s on may very well allow him to achieve that number of wins in a row if he can continue to use the momentum he’s created as of late. Le has Golden Gloves boxing, world class Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt, so he’s able to deal with any duress that he faces against Kingston. The question for him is will he able to withstand the storm that Kingston is sure to bring early in this fight!? Le is shorter and lighter than Kingston so he’s going to have to rely on speed and agility in this fight. Le wins this fight by unanimous decision because he’ll be the faster, more accurate striker!

Xavier: “The Creep” Kingston, a nickname which still gives me pause, hails from Detroit, or Motown, and the 37-year-old represents the LEGION OF DOOM! His combat experience is nearly identical to Le’s so there’s no advantage or disadvantage there. However, the beanie-wearing brawler does have a couple of knockouts to his name so he could have sneaky punching power that Le will have to look out for. However, from the body of work from Kingston, very similarly to Le, the vast majority of his fights have ended in a decision. Since he and Le have that in common, I fully expect this fight to boil down to desire, speed and accuracy for both of these men. Since Kingston is the older of the two, he may have to try and outsmart Le with timely counterattacks because I don’t think he can flatout match the speed, agility and endurance that Le has displayed time and again! I don’t think Kingston will be overly concerned with Le’s punching power, and therefore, Kingston will mix power strikes into his attack, especially since he has the height and weight advantage. If he can really step into his strikes and use that weight advantage fully, he could very well slow down Le enough to not only overtake him on the scorecards, but to also frustrate him into fighting Kingston’s fight as opposed to Le establishing the pace of the fight. Since both of these men rely on intelligence, accuracy and speed more so than power and knockout ability, establishing the pace will be paramount to Kingston’s success! He absolutely must apply and sustain pressure as soon as the bell rings, and he can do so from the outside and whenever Le gets close enough, Kingston can score points with his kicks plus slow down Le’s attacks with timely kicks! Kingston will outthink and outmaneuver Le tonight to win this fight by unanimous decision!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Kingston by Unanimous Decision; Styles – Le by Unanimous Decision

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION: ROBERT DRUMMOND (14-6-1); CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS
VERSUS
MARCO ALVADO (17-9-2); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Xavier: “The Highlander”, which is a good movie, by the way, Styles, hails from Edinburgh, Scotland, and the 32-year-old represents the GBU! Drummond is undoubtedly one of the highest-skilled fighters that ICS gets to see, and he’ll definitely do his best to put on a show tonight against Alvado! World class boxing, excellent Muay Thai, Olympic-level grappling and a black belt round out his skill set and that’s a very formidable skill set indeed! For a fighter his age, he doesn’t have as much combat experience as some of the other fighters his age, so he may actually have more longevity than other fighters his age strictly due to him not subjecting his body to a great deal of damage and punishment over the long term. Drummond has had to deal with a lot of diversity as his current management team is his fifth one! Having that many different management and training teams can be taxing on fighters who don’t have the drive and confidence to continue pushing forward despite the imbalance around them. Drummond having a winning record is a testament to his fighting spirit and that has earned him respect in this industry. His best winning streak has been 7-fights in a row so he definitely knows what to do in that cage! He’s never lost more than 2-fights in a row, so he knows how to halt a skid, which is just as important. Not known particularly for having knockout power, he has put six opponents to sleep before the bell rang so his power is deceptive, if not timely, and Alvado will have to be aware of that fact. Drummond floored his last two opponents so he may have found a new formula, so to speak, in how to get to opponents’ chins, and that could be bad news for Alvado tonight! Drummond wins this fight by keeping up the pressure and using timely counterstrikes to land the power shots he needs to knockout Alvado!

Styles: Alvado, the 31-year-old Turin, Italy, product and member of YABAI is another very highly trained fighter on the ICS roster! World class boxing, world class Muay Thai, Olympic-level grappling and a brown belt are what he’s achieved up to this point in his career. All but his very first fight have been under the guidance of his current management team so he does have consistency with training and fighting philosophy, and that philosophy tonight will be to match and overcome the speed and pressure that Drummond will bring into this fight! His best winning streak has been 4-fights in a row and he’s never lost more than 2-fights in a row, so Alvado has shown that he can avoid very damaging slides while turning his fortunes around rather quickly. Similarly to Drummond, Alvado isn’t known for being a feared knockout artist but his power can’t be underestimated either because he does have two knockouts on his record. I know that’s not a lot, obviously, but it’s enough to make Drummond keep that chin from being exposed too long because any fighter can knock out any other fighter if given enough clean looks. The number of decision fights he’s been involved with has, like Drummond, shown that he has no problem with fights going the distance while keeping the amount of damage he’s taken to a minimum. This fight could very well be a battle of wits and Alvado may have to take a similar fighting approach and mix in some counterattacks between keeping pressure on Drummond and trying to control the space and pace of this fight. Alvado has only had one title opportunity in his career up to now and, unfortunately, he lost that opportunity by unanimous decision to Domingo Chavez at GPG: 45. Alvado wins this fight by unanimous decision because he’ll be able to better utilize his skill set and keep up the pressure from start to finish.

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Alvado by Unanimous Decision; Xavier – Drummond by Unanimous Decision

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION: JAMES NOIR (12-5); CURRENT STREAK: NONE
VERSUS
RI ZAADHA (20-11); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Styles: Noir, the 29-year-old from the Big Apple, represents the LEGION OF DOOM in this battle, and the ground-focused fighter who has Olympic-level grappling to complement the brown belt he’s earned has been able to string together a 5-fight win streak as the best in his career so far, and he’s only lost 2-fights in a row once in his career, so that speaks volumes about his ability to adapt to situations as well as his training intensity and intelligence. He looked sharp in his most recent battle against Ryn Aokison by winning in the 2nd round by TKO. That’s a very good precursor for the type of fight he may have on his hands tonight so taking that momentum into this fight is excellent timing for Noir! In addition to that, he’s never been knocked out and that may very well allow him to be quite aggressive against Zaadha because he’s very confident in his ability to take a solid punch. Zaadha will have to prepare to face a very aggressive Noir tonight and if Noir feels Zaadha doesn’t have the punching power to make him think twice, that’ll spell trouble for Zaadha! Noir is respectable in the standup aspect of combat but it’s pretty obvious he’ll want to get this fight to the mat as quickly as possible and keep the action there because he’s definitely right at home in the horizontal plane, and if he’s able to keep the fight there longer than not, in the very least, he’ll put himself in a very good position to score the vital points on the judges’ scorecards. Noir isn’t a knockout artist, but he does have five KO or TKO’s on his record so Zaadha can’t disregard that aspect of Noir’s abilities because that could prove to be very costly. However, I think Noir will be more effective in this fight by using a lot of aggressive energy and agility to frustrate Zaadha while avoiding taking big shots to the jaw and ultimately win this fight by unanimous decision.

Xavier: Zaadha, the Evil Empire representative, has quite the combat experience advantage in this fight and he’s only one year older than Noir, so the assumption is he’ll be able to deal with whatever situation he finds himself in against Noir. From what we’ve seen in combat, Zaadha has the edge because he has world class boxing skills, excellent Muay Thai, and grappling ability similar to what Noir brings to the fight, so technically, Noir is going to have a hell of a time getting Zaadha to the mat, but it’s obviously still a possibility. However, Zaadha will obviously want to keep this fight on its feet where he looks to have a major advantage in this fight! Zaadha has the height and weight advantage in this fight so his standup skills will be on full display, much to the regret of Noir, so Noir is going to have to display excellent standup skills to avoid being overwhelmed by Zaadha. Zaadha is with his fifth management team now so he’s had to adjust to various types of training and fighting philosophies. Among that diversity, however, he was able to capture gold during his time in IFC, specifically when he defeated Naiki Nekele at IFC MW 35 Gellar vs. Lomachenko. One concern for Zaadha is he’s been knocked out five times in his career, so he will have to be sure he keeps his head moving and his hands up, but since he has such high-level boxing skills, I don’t foresee that being an issue whatsoever. Zaadha has enough knockouts on his resume, especially early in his career, to be considered a knockout specialist, so I fully expect him to lean on that power and look for the thunder that knocks Noir down and out in this fight. Zaadha will win this fight by knocking Noir clean out!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Zaadha by KO; Styles – Noir by Unanimous Decision

FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION: YODSAWAN SITSONGRIT (21-8); CURRENT STREAK: 3 WINS
VERSUS
THOMAS POWER (27-18-1); CURRENT STREAK: 3 WINS

Xavier: The 29-year-old Buriram, Isaan, Thailand fighter represents YABAI in this fight and the highly skilled fighter has been battling well as of late. What’s surprising to me is he doesn’t have as many knockouts as I expected him to have. No one can discount the seven KO’s and TKO’s on his record, but it’s not too often we see fighters with these levels of skill, so there are expectations that they’ll cut through competition like a hot knife through butter! Earlier in his career, he was definitely a bigger threat to knockout an opponent, but the pattern for much of his career, especially as of late, has been a series of decision battles. It’s obvious that Sitsongrit has no issues with taking fights all the way to the final bell and his level of output and aggression has put him on top more often than not, obviously, as his record indicates. Heading into this fight, having the same winning streak as Power is major because that pretty much cancels any potential momentum advantage Power may have had. Sitsongrit has also earned a championship and defended said title numerous times, so that experience and, pardon the pun, championship grit, is very key in this fight. He can always rely on that experience if he finds himself in precarious positions, which basically means if he ends up being on the mat longer than he’d like, though technically, he wouldn’t be uncomfortable there since he has world class grappling supported by a brown belt. Still, he’s slightly taller and lighter than Power so using speed to his advantage makes a lot of sense to me. Sitsongrit will win this fight with high energy output, accuracy and determination. Sitsongrit by knockout!

Styles: The 33-year-old Stanhope, London fighter who represents Vendetta has a big combat experience advantage in this fight! Also, by the looks of the scar on his face, this dude has been in some serious brawls, but that has also helped him earn world class boxing and Muay Thai skills, as well as outstanding grappling and a brown belt, so he obviously knows how to get the job done. “The Warrior” has been rolling well as of late, also, so this will be a very interesting fight in terms of timing. Both are very confident so this may very well be a battle of wills. Power has strung together a 5-fight win streak as his best so far and his worst losing streak has been 2-fights in a row. Similar to Sitsongrit, he knocked out a good number of fighters in the early stages of his career and he, too, has earned the right to be called a champion! He’s only been knocked out three times in the many fights he’s had so it’s very possible we’ll see him be bold, as well as aggressive, when he battles Sitsongrit in the standup because he may feel Sitsongrit doesn’t have the power to knock him out. Power first became a champion when he defeated Daley McReynolds by unanimous decision at Gladiators 17 Runt versus Bhullar. Since then, he won a title once more so similar to Sitsongrit, he can lean on his championship experience if he finds himself in any trouble. His recent battles have ended in decision so, like Sitsongrit, he has no issues with fights going the distance. This fight may very well end up relying on the judges because both of these fighters will expend a great deal of energy and try to simply land more accurate strikes than the other man. Power will win this fight by unanimous decision!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Power by Unanimous Decision; Xavier – Xavier by Unanimous Decision

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION: TEKE BAMALOG (17-6-2); CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS
VERSUS
FIYERO LERMONTOV (20-10-1); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Styles: “The Javan Zombie” hails from Cipamingkis, Indonesia, and represents The Stepdads in this fight. He brings a well-rounded skill set featuring Golden Gloves boxing, excellent Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt. Currently with his third management team, it’s surprising that, despite his very good record, Bamalog hasn’t been a champion, or at least not so far in his career. Obviously, it’s still possible he could end up being a champion and if he can sustain the form he’s had for the past two fights, he’ll definitely be on his way there. He’s had one opportunity to win a title but, unfortunately, he lost to Enitan Arendse by unanimous decision at ABW 185 Arendse – Bamalog. His best winning streak has been 4-fights in a row while he’s lost 2-fights in a row at most. Bamalog has been knocked out twice so he hasn’t taken an overabundance of damage, and he’s been able to knock out six fighters, so he does have some knockout ability but can’t necessarily lean on that in this fight. His recent battles have results in the judges having to weigh in, so if Bamalog doesn’t feel he can get the knockout in this fight, he may full well forgo any power strikes and simply rely on speed and accuracy to try and outpoint Lermontov on the scorecards. Since he’s a touch shorter and lighter than Lermontov, Bamalog may have to rely on counterattacking to score vital strikes to move ahead on points. Keeping this fight standing seems to be the best approach for Bamalog because he may not be able to outgrapple Lermontov. Bamalog wins this fight by unanimous decision tonight!

Xavier: Lermontov is three years younger than Bamalog yet he has more combat experience, so it’s possible that Lermontov has taken more damage and thus, Bamalog has a chance of scoring a knockout simply due to the number of times Lermontov has taken shots to the chin! World class boxing, Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a black belt make him a dangerous man in that cage each and every time. Aside from combat experience advantages, Lermontov has championship experience and that came when he defeated Bernardo De Barros by Armbar when they battled at TAFC: Fujimoto versus Shorton. In his last battle against Min-Sik Song, he had an opportunity to win another championship but lost by unanimous decision at ICS 16. Prior to that loss, he had won three fights in a row and his best win streak has been 6-fights in a row. His longest losing streak has been 3-fights in a row so he’s only experienced that taboo mark only once in his career. Earlier in is career, Lermontov was a knockout machine, but it’s been a while since he dropped an opponent early. It’s difficult to assess if he still has that knockout power, and it’s possible that Bamalog will be willing to take the chance of tasting Lermatov’s punching power to gauge how aggressive he can be in the counterattack. Since that’s a possibility, Lermatov will have to put his top-notch skills to the test as quickly as possible! He does have the option of taking this fight to the ground to ground to control the pace and space if he feels he’s not able to knock Bamalog out and falls behind on the scorecards. I think Lermontov wins this fight by being the more accurate fighter who’s able to sustain the pressure over the long haul better than Bamalog. Lermontov by unanimous decision!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Lermontov by Unanimous Decision; Styles – Bamalog by Unanimous Decision

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION: ABNER APPLEGATE (26-12-1); CURRENT STREAK: NONE
VERSUS
MICK MURPHY (30-11); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Xavier: The 36-year-old Englander from Birmingham represents the LEGION OF DOOM and is another very solid fighter here in ICS! World class boxing and Muay Thai is backed up by outstanding grappling and a brown belt. Applegate has only had two management team, so the consistency has proved to be very good for him as he became a champion at CEFC 312 when he defeated Kim Jong Guk by TKO in the fourth round.

Styles: Applegate? Like Christina Applegate? You know, the one who played Kelly Bundy on Married…with Children?

Xavier: I know who Christina Applegate is, Styles. That was a very popular show and I did watch it.

Styles: Just making sure man, because there are times when I’m not sure if you’re up on pop culture.

Xavier: I appreciate the vote of confidence.

Styles: Anytime.

Xavier: Prior to his last loss, he had won two fights in a row, and his longest winning streak has been 6-fights in a row, while 2-fights in a row is the longest losing streak. Applegate was a feared striker early on in his career and not too long ago, he scored a knockout victory, so there’s still some thunder in his strikes. Murphy will have to decide if he’s willing to get in close to Applegate to test his power and Applegate will have to take full advantage of that if Murphy does expose his chin long enough for Applegate to land a clean strike. Over the course of his career, Applegate has been knocked out three times, so he has sustained some damage, but I don’t think he’s suffered enough to make his chin completely vulnerable to power strikes. Prior to his most recent loss, he won two fights in a row, both by unanimous decision, and a good number of recent fights have resulted in a decision, so the battle of endurance is definitely a distinct possibility in this fight. Applegate is shorter but a little heavier than Murphy, so I expect Applegate to take a counterattacking approach when this fight is on its feet. Applegate’s best chance at victory as I see it is to keep the fight vertical because going to the mat will take away his potential knockout ability plus Murphy could slow down the fight and possibly stretch out the fight to the final bell. Applegate wins this fight by knockout!

Styles: The 33-year-old Irishman from Dublin is a fellow LEGION OF DOOM member, and you know how I enjoy inter-alliance battles! “Money Weight” is three years younger than his fellow alliance member and has a similar amount of experience so there’s no advantage either way in my opinion. The pipe-smoking brawler with the fancy moustache steps into combat with world class boxing, excellent Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt. Currently with his second management team, Murphy’s career began on the back of a rocket! He came out of the gates with a fantastic 15-fight win streak! Some fighters never win fifteen fights in their entire careers, let alone establish that kind of win streak! Needless to say, Murphy captured a championship when he defeated Mister Bean, funny English dude, by the way, at KOFC 30 – Diehard versus Rackham 2 by unanimous decision. Unsurprisingly, he’s won additional championships during his career and his fearsome power is still very much potentially harmful! Applegate absolutely can’t afford to keep his chin up and exposed because Murphy will definitely test his ability to take a power shot! During that incredible stretch run of wins in a row, Murphy was hurting a good number of people then had most of his fights end in decisions but there were knockout wins interspersed among those fights, and I have no doubt he’s itching to prove he still has knockout power after his most recent loss to Nick Graves at ICS 21 by TKO in the fourth round. One area of concern for Murphy is the fact he’s been knocked out four times recently, so his own ability to absorb punishing blows has been called into question. However, I think Murphy has the power and aggression to make Applegate go to sleep early!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Murphy by KO; Xavier – Applegate by KO

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION: SCOTTY BAPP (12-5); CURRENT STREAK: 8 WINS
VERSUS
GEORDIE POWER (24-9); CURRENT STREAK: 3 WINS

Styles: “Slenderman”, The Stepdads representative from Atlanta, Georgia, is a very solid fighter. The 26-year-old has Golden Gloves boxing ability, very good Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a brown belt. Currently with his fourth management team, his best success has been with his current management team, and he brings the outstanding 8-fight win streak into this fight! Confidence and momentum is very high for Bapp and Power, with a win streak of his own, will have to overcome that confidence and will. His longest losing streak has been 2-fights in a row but that seems a distant memory because he’s been on top of his game lately! He has a good number of knockouts on his resume and I fully expect him to bring that power and aggression into this battle tonight! He has not won a championship as of yet, but if he continues to maintain this dominant form, that’ll be something he remedies very quickly. What should concern Power the most is the fact that Bapp has only gone the distance in two of the eight fights he’s won, and, in addition, he made a man bleed so badly that the referee and ringside doctor decided to call the fight off. That, ladies and gentlemen, is dangerous for anyone stepping into the cage against him, so Power will definitely need to have his striking defense in prime form because if he doesn’t, he could be in serious trouble here! Bapp has a major height advantage in this fight so he can afford to allow Power to come to him and every time Power gets in range, Bapp can tag him with kicks then go to punches if Power manages to get past Bapp’s kicks! Bapp is lighter so he can rely on speed to light up Power’s chin repeatedly, and that, X, is going to lead Bapp to another knockout victory here tonight!

Xavier: “The Power” from Stanhope, England, represents Vendetta and similar to Bapp, he’s a solid fighter. Golden Gloves boxing skills, excellent Muay Thai, outstanding grappling and a purple belt round out his skill set! He’s had one management team in his career, and the 33-year-old is accustomed to that consistency. That has paid off for him because he became a champion by defeating Riki Shi with a nasty head kick at TD 3: Marveux versus Woodley! A multi-time champion, he has that distinct advantage over Bapp in this fight, and since Bapp has been on an excellent roll and laying waste to his opponents, Power will have to rely on that championship pedigree to avoid having his world rocked early and often in this fight. An 8-fight win streak has been his best while a 3-fight losing streak has been his worst. He has a good number of knockout victories to his credit but many of his fights have gone the distance. Power has only been knocked out twice in his career, a testament to his fighting abilities, especially with many more fights than Bapp has. Keeping this fight standing is Power’s best chance at winning because despite being the shorter fighter, taking this fight to the mat is a big risk because Bapp may be able to control the pace while Power struggles to try and make Bapp tap out. Power is going to have to use his standup skills and he may even opt to lock Bapp into a clinch where he can lean his extra weight on Bapp and wear him down while scoring vital points on the scorecards. It’s quite possible that Power has the power to rock Bapp but he’s going to have to be patient with counterattacking because he definitely doesn’t want to stand toe-to-toe too long with Bapp. Power ends the impressive win streak of Bapp by knocking him out tonight!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Power by KO; Styles – Bapp by KO

FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION: RYAN RODRIGUEZ (14-6); CURRENT STREAK: NONE
VERSUS
MALAKI FISO (15-8); CURRENT STREAK: 2 LOSSES

Xavier: Rodriguez, or RR, represents The GBU from Southampton, England. The 27-year-old fighter has world class skills in the standup, so he obviously wants to keep this fight vertical where he can let fists and kicks fly at a very high level! A current Demolition champion, he’s currently with his fourth management team, so the fact he’s a multi-time champion speaks volumes about his warrior spirit. When he defeated Alex Valentine at DKCW 2 by knockout punch in the second round, he had his first taste of championship success. With his current management team, he got another taste of championship gold when he defeated Great Tiger by TKO in the second round at RISE 123. A 6-fight win streak, which he’s achieved twice, is the best so far in his career while he’s only lost 2-fights in a row one time. His most recent fight, which resulted in a unanimous decision loss to Walter White at ICS 20, snapped a 6-fight winning streak so Rodriguez is definitely going to want to get right back on the winning side of life. During that winning streak, he strung together a series of TKO victories and only had one fight go past the second round. In other words, Rodriguez is on a mission and Fiso is going to have to expect an assault as soon as the bell rings because Rodriguez will be going for the knockout! In fact, this man can safely be labeled a knockout artist because all but three fights have not ended in knockouts. Additionally, with that aggressive power, Rodriguez has been knocked out four times, so he’s taken his share of damage to his chin and it’s possible that Fiso will look to test Rodriguez’s ability to take power strikes to the jaw. Rodriguez will need to be sure his world class skills, especially on defense, are in prime condition, because if they’re not then he could very well be in a world of hurt! Rodriguez scores the knockout win tonight!

Styles: “The Samoan Scrapper” is the shorter and lighter man, and The GBU representative from Manono Island (Apai Village), Samoa, is a well-balanced fighter with Golden Gloves boxing, excellent Muay Thai, very good grappling and a black belt to round out his abilities. He’s only had one management team and that consistency has led him to becoming a multi-time champion. His first foray into being a champion occurred when he defeated Mike Hunt, great tongue in cheek name, by the way, at BFF 35: Willis versus Perkins via unanimous decision. A 4-fight winning streak has been his best and he achieved that three times over his career, so he knows how to take hold of momentum. Unfortunately for him, he’s battling Rodriguez on a 2-fight losing streak so he’s going to have to dig deep to overcome Rodriguez and his momentum! Fiso is a confident fighter who’s made some opponents tap out and he does have one knockout on his record, but fights going the distance has been the situation as of late. I don’t think he wants to try and force this fight to go the distance because the longer Rodriguez has a chance to land power strikes, the worse off Fiso will be. Fiso is shorter and lighter, so he’s going to have to rely on speed and counterattacking with said speed and agility score vital points while avoiding taking major damage to the chin. Taking this fight to the mat may very well be the way for Fiso to finish this fight because he can best put hi black belt to use there, obviously, and twist his way to victory. Fiso halts his losing streak and Rodriguez’s winning streak by forcing Rodriguez to tap out tonight!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Fiso by Submission; Xavier – Rodriguez by KO

MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION: JAMES DARREN (22-16-1); CURRENT STREAK: NONE
VERSUS
GEORGE SALVADOR (25-12); CURRENT STREAK: NONE

Styles: The last brawl tonight pits “Paper Moon” versus George Salvador. Darren hails from Philly and represents The Evil Empire in this fight. Darren has only had one management team and that has paid dividends because he won a championship by TKO against Petter Norlin in the third round at Helsinki Fighting League: 45. Fairly recently, he won another championship so his multi-time championship experience and achievement will be an anchor for him to rely upon in this fight. World class boxing, Muay Thai and Olympic-level grappling is supported by a brown belt, so he knows how to get the job done. His best win streak so far has been 7-fights in a row while losing 5-fights in a row has been his worst slide. His last four fights have resulted in an even 2-2 record, but the two victories have been by TKO and KO so that’s very good news for Darren and not so good news for Salvador. He’s caused fourteen opponents to either take an early nap or have the ref save them from further damage so he has the destructive ability in the cage that Salvador is going to have to pay very close attention to that fact! Darren is slightly taller and weighs less so that may be the difference maker in this fight. Technically, these men have very similar fighting abilities and this could be one of those fights that either ends in an early knockout or shows both men struggling mightily to land very effective strikes and the more patient and stronger-willed man will emerge victorious. Darren will win this fight by keeping the pressure up against Salvador and forcing him to defend a multitude of strikes from various angles, and Darren will force Salvador to expose his chin long enough to land the one shot he needs to finish Salvador by knockout!

Xavier: Salvador, the Vendetta representative from Ferryhill, England, is a very highly skilled fighter as well! World class in boxing, Muay Thai and grappling, the brown belt he has rounds out a tremendous skill set. Similar to his opponent tonight, he, too, has only had one management team and similar to his opponent, that consistency has paid off with multiple championships. A 5-fight winning streak, which he’s achieved twice, is the best he’s had in his career, while he’s only lost 2-fights in a row one time. He had a five-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Latrobe Arundel at ICS 21 by being knocked out late in the first round, but hell, it’s Arundel so there’s no shame in that at all! Salvador had his first taste of the championship life when he knocked out August Jeaux Jr. at TRFC77 very early in the first round. He has enough KO and TKO wins to have established himself as a respected striker but he’s also absorbed his fair share of damage, having been knocked out eight times, and you better believe Darren is very well aware of that fact! Since he has as substantial weight advantage over Darren, he literally has a choice of poison here, so to speak. He can either take a chance of locking Darren in a clinch and leaning that extra weight against him to wear him down while landing opportune strikes, or he can try and drag Darren to the mat where he can literally make Darren carry Salvador’s extra weight by winning the transition and positioning battle and making Salvador defend against being tapped out while having his energy drained faster than he would in the vertical aspect of battle. Salvador will have to match Darren’s aggression and he may very well have the power to cause Darren to be brutalized in the standup where Salvador wins this battle by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Salvador by KO; Styles – Darren by KO

Xavier: Thank you again, ladies and gentlemen, for joining us tonight for our preview, and we hope, as always, that we’ve been able to take your minds off of the world’s current unprecedented issues while providing you with entertaining insight.

Styles: That’s right, and of course, we want to give Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing a shout out for having great products that are cool and crazy funny. On behalf of Xavier, I’m Furious Styles, signing off, and we’ll see you at the fights!
