Every week , from next week on, I'm going to write a profile about a fighter who did something special that last week.

If you want your fighter to be the one written about, send me a PM.

The subject of the message must be ' FOTWP' and in the message you past the link to his profile and you can also add why you think he should be the fighter of the week.

It will not always be top fighters, as the content will be decided by who messages me that week. I will pick the most interesting one.

So if your fighter did/does something spectacular/amazing this week, send me a message as explained earlier in my post.

This thread is supposed to become a fun thread where your fighter can get some free advertising if he has done something special and thereby also is sort of a little bit of news from the past week.

Send me your message the latest on wednesday morning about something special of the past week.

Hopefully you guys like the idea and will be interested to send me messages to nominate your fighter or the fighter of someone else.

Bjorn

"Local Simpleton" Shinichi Onizuka

One of the most impressive welterweights of the MMA world is the first 'fighter of the week'. This japanese 170lbs sensation is a current triple world champion, holding a TWGC 1 belt, the SPNY belt and the highly estimated Ascension championship belt. Obviously , the belts make clear already that we are not talking about an average fighter, but lets go a bit more into detail.

He started his career at 18 year old with a solid background in boxing and also decent BJJ skills, but apart from that, he still had a lot to learn obviously. He had 15 fights with his first manager, who also is his current manager now, as he picked him up later on again. He had an 11-4 record in the early goings of his career. He then changed teams to team Davies and went 3-1. After his first loss under Scott's management, he was released and picked up by Agent Dee, under who he lost a fight as well. Michael Knight had seen enough and decided to form a team again with his former student and from then on out, they went on an unbelievable journey. He tried to win the Hells Balls Grapplers Gauntlet title, but didn't succeed. He decided to change orgs and he joined SPNY. After a loss in his debut, Shinichi went on to win a lot of awards and won the 170lbs belt as well. He defended it 2 times succesfully before going to Ascension to test himself against the elite of the elite. In his promotional debut, he fought for the 170lbs title and won it. He would go on to defend his title 3 more times and do a few more superfights as well. His only recent losses come to the hands of Bowser Stormcrow and Renan St. Juste. He put up a great fight against Bowser and lost by decision. He was actually winning against Renan, but got caught in the 3rd by a huge right hook that put his lights out.

He earned the spotlight this week for coming back from the loss to Renan St. Juste by going up against Gary Player to defend his 170lbs Ascension belt. Gary was on a roll lately after getting an impressive 4 fight winning streak, that included wins over Rustam Kersikov, Bobby Digital (former Syn welterweight champion), Guy Georges and Agent 47!

Onizuka showed of his amazing ground game ( Abu Dhabi Champion) by making quick work of Gary Player. He submitted him in the first round after 3'48 and handed him his first career submission loss. It was an excellent performance and amazing to see that he was able to submit Gary Player, something nobody had ever done before in his 43 career fights!

Shinichi Onizuka will fight Rustam Kersikov on the 2nd of august 2015. Good luck !

Great news!! I spoke with the boss of the MMA Tycoon Times and he has agreed to let the 'fighter of the week' be a weekly part of the newspaper as well.

This means even more eyes will be watching and more exposure for your fighter.

I had been thinking for a few weeks now on what I could do that was fun, included writing, would keep the forum more active and would give everyone a chance to put their fighter in the spotlight. I'm very happy to see that people are enthusiastic about the idea.

This week Blade has defended his SPI: Helsinki belt for the 5th time, and sealed his trilogy with Ignat Grenovsky (Trilogy Record 2-0-1). He also got inducted into our Hall of Fame, and he also earned free 3 months VIP by Steel Penn for completing a challenge - earning 5 title defense in a Steel Penn Icon - SPI organisation. He is the first man ever in an SPI organisation to complete this challenge. He is most definetly the greatest and most achieved 265k Heavyweight right now.

Ranky Scorpion

Rinky Spider you say? No, Ranky Scorpion it is. This HW destroyer is a bit less well known , but has one hell of a career and is coming to the top in spectacular fashion. Ranky started his career with a 6-0 record, but would lose his next two fights and got released by his manegement team. After that, he was picked up by one of the best managers in the MMA world, Whymer Van Mastodon. Under his management, he got to a 7-4 record , with most of his fights being at Aggressive Damage. All of his losses have come by way of (t)KO and that might have been the reason that he got released once again by his team. The poor american HW looked on his way out of the big scene, but got picked up by popular media tycoon J.J. Media.

A brutal head kick KO loss in his debut under J.J his guidance didn't look great, but after that one, Ranky got a new direction and found his way back to winning. He would win his next fight, against Willy Stoppers, by stopping the illustrious KO machine by using his groundgame to avoid a (t)KO loss. It was a first big sign of a promising possible resurgence . In his next fight, he fought against Hades Hug, a fighter with not an amazing record, but who does have some good KO -power. Ranky dominated the fight before finishing it with brutal elbows on the ground.

The fight that made him fighter of the week for me is his big win over Willy Stoppers this week in their rematch. He absolutely destroyed him in just over one minute of the firsts round and captured the Aggressive Damage superheavyweight belt. His brutal win made him make a big move in the rankings as he enters the top 10 at SHW now and the 29 year old has the potential to get even higher. Will he be the next huge american champion ? There are some rumors going on that he can possibly have a superfight in EVO next, possibly even against the legend with a very similar name, Rinky Spider. I can't say that I am sure as it are only rumors.

Congrats Ranky on becoming the fighter of the week!
