Havoc Fighting League

New Adventure - Preview

February 11th - The Island - Micro Arena

As a person new to the MMA world I have no idea what The Island will turn out to be like, but the amount of excitement I’ve seen from everyone has gotten me hyped and I can’t wait to see what happens. The Havoc Fighting League as the first Island organization this particular season will hopefully play host to many of the best fighters this season’s Island has to offer. I decided to ask the owner of the HFL Liam Davidson why he decided to create an organization on The Island this season and he answered “ I created an Island org, as I feel the island has been lacking on orgs for a long time and I have the experience to make a memorable time for all fighters that I cross paths with. The owner of an organization is a huge part of whether it will be successful or night and its great that we have an experienced owner taking part. However, an organization is only as good as the fighters within it who, although chosen by the owner, play a huge part in controlling how far an organization will go. Due to this reasoning I asked Davidson for some insight into how he picks fighters and he responded “I just look for fighters that look ready to fight, and show a bit of activity as cant afford to have inactive fighters creep in and lose me money, especially at the start of Island when money is so important for orgs Without further ado lets get into the fights!!!

(0-1, 185 lbs) Enzo I Do It For Fun VS (0-0, 185 lbs) Thomas Turbano

Kicking off the Organization debut of Havoc we have two fighters looking to start off their Havoc run in style. Fun gave up the initiative early in his first fight and ended up losing in a close decision in a clinch fest where a whopping 33 clinches were attempted. Turbano is yet to be tested, but he has a reputation as a great boxer which when combined with his respectable wrestling results in a solid fighter with the ability to keep the fight in his domain.

Winner: Thomas Turbano

While he is a wildcard at this point having not fought before, after his opponent’s rough debut I have to give Turbano the edge and if he can keep the fight at a distance there is no doubt he will come away with the victory.

(0-1, 135 lbs) Renaldo Belfort VS (0-1, 135 lbs) Annie “The Dark Child” Tibbers

Both fighters in this one are coming off of disappointing losses in their Island debuts and are hoping to redeem themselves in the HFC. Belfort loss via submission after taking his opponent while Tibbers looked helpless in the clinch where he was knocked out. These two will both be looking to utilize their wrestling to take this fight to the ground.

Winner: Annie “The Dark Child” Tibbers

Belfort has already fallen victim to a submission once and as such with Tibbers having the superior Jiu Jitsu coming into the fight Belfort should be considered the underdog coming in.

(0-1, 265 lbs) Fabrice Beaudry VS (0-0, 265 lbs) “Hefty Man Slut” Pension Buckets

Beaudry looks to make up for his disappointing loss to a strong opponent where he was submitted in the middle of the third and final round. Pension on the other hand i s unproven and will have to show he can handle the impressive Jiu Jitsu of this opponent.

Winner: Fabrice Beaudry

Pension will have trouble keeping this fight standing and once it goes to the ground Beaudry should make short work of him.

(0-0, 265 lbs) “The Token” Black Guy VS (0-0, 265 lbs) George Lambton

This fight will be interesting to watch due to the fact these fighters are extremely strong in one area of their game. Guy has Remarkable boxing and a blue belt while Lambton has wonderful wrestling. Lambton will have to show he can control the fight with his takedowns in order to walk away with the victory in this one.

Winner: “The Token” Black Guy

I doubt Guy will be available to avoid all the takedown attempts of his opponent, but his Jiu Jitsu should go far in helping him perform from his back whether he uses it to stand or maybe submit from the bottom.

(0-0, 145 lbs) Jerimiah Mercer VS (0-0, 145 lbs) Costel “Rock-a-bye” Rohozeanu

Mercer from Bosnia is bringing Wonderful boxing to the table and has combined it with a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, whereas his opponent has learned a little bit of everything with a slight emphasis on wrestling. If this fight stays standing Mercer has the clear advantage, however on the ground its hard to say what could happen.

Winner: Jerimiah Mercer

Mercer is superior by a large margin on his feet and with his Jiu Jitsu being equal to his opponent’s I believe he has the edge coming into this fight.

(0-0, 205 lbs) Sam “Terror” Langford VS (0-0, 205 lbs) “Wild” Bill LittleCock

Both fighters in this one are no stranger to the clinch, but while Langford practically lives within the clinch, LittleCock likes to bring the fight to the ground as well. This fight ultimately comes down to whether or not Lanford can be taken down or not.

Winner: Sam “Terror” Langford

The prerogative is on LittleCock to take this to the ground. However, his wrestling doesn’t seem to be up to the task of bringing Langford down seeing as Langford’s Muay Thai is extremely powerful.

(1-0, 205 lbs) Berry Micokiner VS (0-0, 205 lbs) Jess Riddick

Thai vs Boxing which is better? Both of these fighters will answer the question that has been both asked and answered repeatedly throughout mma. Berry easily won his first fight in the clinch against an 18 year old, but this fight should prove to be much more difficult as he is picking on someone his own age.

Winner: Berry Micokiner

This one seems a rather 50/50 fight and it is next to impossible to predict, but I gotta earn a paycheck so I’ll go with Berry in this one, because he showed in his previous fight that he has what it takes to win.

(1-0, 265 lbs) Franky “The Forest Ranger” Perez VS (0-0, 265 lbs) Doink The Clown

This fight showcases a heavy handed boxer who crushed his opponent in the QFC in the first round against a muay thai/wrestler making his debut on the island. While we haven’t seen Clown fight yet you can expect great things from him if his manager’s roster of other fighters is any indication. Perez will definitely think twice before bringing this fight into the clinch like he did in his last one and has to try and keep this guy at a safe distance.

Winner: Frank “The Forest Ranger” Perez

Perez has shown that his power is no joke whereas it is unknown what unknowns Clown brings to the table. I’d give the edge to Perez and expect him to keep this fight from a distance and if forced into the clinch I expect him to utilize his boxing to make it out.

(0-0, 185 lbs) Zack Bailey VS (1-0, 185 lbs) La Requis

I’m sure your all tired of hearing this by now, but on one side we have a guy looking to debut and another who made his debut in the QFC with a victory facing off. Requis won his debut in exciting manner as he utilized a superman punch to knock his opponent out early in the first round. He didn’t even have to show off his muay thai as his sheer knockout power floored his opponent. Bailey will have his hands full with this opponent even though his boxing is vastly superior.

Winner: La Requis

I know it seems like I always pick the guy with a previous victory to win, but of all the picks this is the one I’m the least conflicted about. When a Muay Thai fighter knocks someone out with his abysmal boxing skills in the early round it speaks volumes about his power especially when he does so against someone with a granite chin.

(1-0, 170 lbs) “The Real Deal” Ray Davis VS (1-0, 170 lbs) Tim Washington

These two fighters both won their debuts in the QFC and it will be fun to watch them clash here in the Havoc Fighting League. While Davis is new to mma, his manager is currently ranked 13th while his opponent is under a new manager who although undefeated has yet to go up against the big wigs in the mma world. Enough with the managers, however this is about these two fighters and their soon to be battle. Davis won in a very one sided decision fight where he out fought his opponent from a distance landing almost all his strikes and throwing many more than his opponent. Washington rocked his opponent after a failed takedown attempt then finished him with a solid uppercut. It will be a fun fight as Davis brings a solid chin to the octagon while Washington has heavy hands capable of ending the fight at any point if he can alnd a heavy shot.

Winner: “The Real Deal” Ray Davis

At this point I give Davis the edge even though his knockout power may be a concern, because his boxing is so technically sound that even without power he should be able to earn a decision victory.

Thanks for reading this write up and I love the opportunity to write for a card that includes some of the best managers in the MMA world. As a new writer it is wonderful experience to see all these people in action and I look forward to seeing how this iteration of The Island goes.

Havoc Fighting League

Wrecking Havoc 1 - Preview

February 18th - The Island - Micro Arena

(1-0, 265+ lbs) “She Wants You To Be” Super SuperHeavyWeight VS (0-0, 265+ lbs) Johnny “Johnny Bravo” Kiksyorass

SuperHeavyWeight made his QFC debut in successful fashion completely dominating his opponent in the clinch where he showed off just how powerful a fighter he is. His opponent on the other hand comes in unknown having not made his debut anywhere yet.

Prediction:

SuperHeavyWeight will need to abuse his boxing to put his opponent off guard then use the opening to take him down where he can ground and pound his way to victory. Kisyorass on the other hand wants to close with Super and wear on him in the clinch while avoiding any takedown attempts.

Winner: “She Wants You To Be” Super SuperHeavyWeight

It will be difficult for Kiksyorass to defend all the takedown attempts and as such I expect him to lose in this one, but it should be a very very close fight.

(0-0, 205 lbs) Cadman “Warrior” St Nartin VS (0-1, 205 lbs) Jozef “The Real Deal” Raki

St Nartin hopes to make his Havoc debut and put himself in the top half of the 205 pound division. His opponent Raki lost his debut via decision in the QFC mainly, because he couldn’t land his takedowns reliable despite trying more than 30 of them.

Prediction:

St Nartin is a fighter who seems to prefer to fight standing as he has no BJJ experience and he will match up against Raki who in his last fight tried takedown after takedown. In this one one, however I expect St. Nartin to use his real strength which is his boxing in this one.

Winner: Jozef “The Real Deal” Raki

Despite his terrible start his superiority in boxing and wrestling should enable him to get the victory in this one.

(1-0, 265 lbs) Heavy “256” HeavyWeight VS (1-0, 265 lbs) “The Token” Black Guy

HeavyWeight is the man who beat up Hellen Keller in his debut, but try not to hold this against him just as you should take it with a grain of salt considering the blindness and deafness of his opponent. Guy won his first QFC fight extremely easily in only 14 seconds using his KO power and excellent boxing.

Prediction:

This fight will be another wrestler versus boxer fight which will most likely be a very common trend on the island this season. This one is very hard to guess, because we have a powerful wrestler versus a heavy handed boxer both of which are very good at what they do.

Winner: “The Token” Black Guy

I have to give Guy the advantage in this one, because he looked much more impressive in his win and if his wrestling is centered around takedown defense HeavyWeight will have a tough time getting him to the ground without being abused by his boxing.

(1-0, 205 lbs) Paul Daniels VS (0-0, 205 lbs) Donald “The Duck” Quack

Daniels is a scary combination of Muay Thai and a brown belt in jiu jitsu, which as a combination means you can’t do anything that may let him close the distance against you. Quack on the other hand is the typical boxer wrestler who will try and abuse his opponents from a distance and if he sees an opening will go for the takedown.

Prediction:

This fight is simple in knowing how the victor will win, but difficult in knowing which person will be the victor. Daniels will easily win if he can clinch, while Quack will win easily if he can avoid the clinch attempts of Daniels.

Winner: Paul Daniels

It is a very daunting task to stay away from Daniels and Quack’s wrestling is a very scary proposition, because of how dangerous Daniels is on the ground with his amazing jiu jitsu.

(0-1, 185 lbs) Santiago Moraes VS (2-0, 185 lbs) Rafael Oreiro

Moraes shot himself in the foot in his first fight by taking down an opponent with superior jiu jitsu resulting in getting submitted. Oreiro has two wins already, both of which he won easily in the first round using his boxing.

Prediction:

The big unknown in this fight is whether or not Oreiro can keep from being taken down or clinched, because in his previous two matches he faced only one clinch and zero takedown attempts.

Winner: Santiago Moraes

Having no clue about Oreiro’s ability to stuff takedowns or clinch attempts I give the edge to Moraes who only had trouble in his last fight, because his opponent has superior jiu jitsu.

(1-0, 170 lbs) Vasily Zabitsharipov VS (0-1, 170 lbs) Natty Lyte

Zabitsharipov looked very good in his first fight controlling throughout and eventually ground and pounding his way to victory. Lyte lost in a tough fight against someone with equally impressive BJJ in a decision loss.

Prediction:

Both fighters want this fight to happen on the ground, Zabit wants to control from the top using his wrestling while Lyte will need to go for the submission whether from his back or on top.

Winner: Natty Lyte

Vasily has decent BJJ, but The Brown belt of Lyte should come through in the clutch for him letting him shake off his previous loss.

(0-1, 170 lbs) Bobby “Teeth” Firmino VS (0-1, 170 lbs) Greg House

This fight looks to be an incredible match up as both fighters come in with the exact same skill set having just lost their debut via submission. Firmino managed to make it to the second round before he lost while House didn’t accomplish anything in his as his opponent only had two actions, a takedown and a submission both of which succeeded.

Prediction:

This fight comes down to whose manager has spent their training better as from the outside looking in these fighters appear to have the same skills.

Winner: Greg House

Due to his chin I expect House to manage to eke out the victory against his very well matched opponent.

(1-0, 170 lbs) Davide Nazarri VS (0-1, 170 lbs) Joe James

Nazarri managed to beat a fighter who has since won two more fights, and he did it in strong fashion via submission a little over half way through the fight. James’ debut went much worse as he was on the receiving end of a submission loss four seconds later than Nazarri managed his victory. It will be fun to watch these two try and win this fight and show themselves to be contenders in Havoc.

Prediction:

James has the better stand up, and wrestling whereas Nazarri put a lot more work into improving his jiu jitsu. It will be tough for Nazarri to take James down, but it will be tough for James to end the fight as his skills are not high enough to make him a clear victor.

Winner: Davide Nazarri

With both fighters preferring to wrestle I expect Nazarri’s superior BJJ to be the key skill in deciding this match.

(0-0, 170 lbs) Gino “HitMan” Adam VS (0-0, 170 lbs) Gary Dellabate

Yet another exciting fight for everyone as both fighters come into Havoc trying to make their debut. Both managers will be looking forward to seeing what exactly the fighters under them have to show.

Prediction:

Both fighters have blue belts, but Adam is a jack of all trades while Dellabate concentrated on his wrestling skills. Its almost a guarantee that Dellabate will manage to take Adam down meaning that this fight will mostly come down to whether Adam’s BJJ is enough to stop Dellabate’s wrestling in its tracks.

Winner: Gary Dellabate

I expect Dellabate to be able to win this one, because of his superiority wrestling. The difference between their boxing is negligible and their BJJ is similar, but the wrestling difference is rather wide.

  • 2 weeks later...

This org (Or maybe Island season) was a disappointment.

I've never had so much trouble in paying $300 weekly fees. I've never had to beg for new contracts or sponsorships before, which I did 3 times already in this young season, and my fighter still ran out of money.

I've dropped one of the top fighters in the org (Ray Davis) if anyone wants him
