Krystof Teverdosky wins first match in Synchronicity.

He made easy work of an unprepared James Pattington. He had this to say about his opponent, "This guy is a joke, I hope to hell he didn't make as much as I did for that fight. I trained hard to put on a good fight for the fans, this fool barely made wieght. If the rest of the fighters at 205 are this bad, I'll have the belt in no time."

Soft-spoken and respectful Japanese fighter Kenata "Samurai" Takahashi listened to Teverdosky's comments at the press conference with some interest. "A true martial artist respects his opponent, no matter the outcome. Mr Teverdosky's comments are disrespectful in victory and shows he lacks the heart of a true warrior. If Franky agrees I would like to show Mr Teverdosky what it means to fight an opponent who is as strong in spirit as he is in body."

"Well it doesn't happen often but Syn City's LHW Champion has to eat his words as his pick Soszynski was destroyed in quick fashion by Black. Good victory for Black but the bad news is he now is the number 1 contender again for the LHW Championship. The first fight took just over 4 minutes for Paolo to defeat Black and end his 3 fight win streak....since then Paolo has not only got the best 2 sponsors in the game but he has also moved into the best gym in Vegas. He has been training with some monsters and proc'ed 4 skills in 1 week including improving his Boxing in prep for Black. We hope he has been training hard too or it will be over even earlier than the last fight

Paolo thanks Non-Stop-Nutrition (Check out the 4th of July non sale) and Firebird Designs (you too can look that good)"

awesome post-fight press-conference :). you guys make the show, all i do is take my hammer and built the stage.

congratulations to the winners of yesterdays show and better luck next time to the others. Barayevs a deserving p4p-king and Black earned his second shot at Mendez, if he wants it that is.

i really like the idea of Teverdosky/Takahashi. i think its already signed for next weekend. lots of big fights next weekend ... but first we need to get this one over with :).

After 3 fights and none of his opponents lasting more than 397 seconds, Mark Lewis has his eyes set on his next opponent Aaron Gracie. A tough fighter for sure with a 5-1 record. Mark had this to say about his matchup:

"I like Aaron, we train in the same gym and I have seen him go. But there is no doubt in my mind that this will end up on the ground... Aaron has won 4 out of his fights via submissions. And myself? All 3 of my fights I took my opponents arm home with me... I also expect to see this as a number one contender-fight for Fouads belt. He has held onto that for too long now, and there is no chance I'll lose to that guy..."

Things are heating up in the 185-division for sure!

When asked for a response to Lewis' comments, the young Gracie fighter had this to say. "Yeah, I've rolled with Mark quite a bit and he's a great grappler. I'd say his game is a bit more complete than mine at the moment, but I can certainly hold my own on the ground with him. I'm a young fighter, I've got a lot to learn and I'm planning to be here for the long haul, so I'm not going to get carried away with thoughts of title shots at this point in time. Right now my aim is to get past Mark with another W in the tally, then get back in the gym and work on my overall game some more."

On the eve of his eagerly anticipated fight with elite grappler Mark Lewis, fellow grappler "Amazing" Aaron Gracie was awarded his Purple Belt by the head coach of the SynGym. "This couldn't come at a better time", Aaron said. "In the gym the talk has been about Mark being a Purple belt and me only being blue, so it takes a bit of pressure off. I can't wait for the fight on Saturday!"

Mark Lewis was asked about his feelings regarding Aaron Gracie's newly acquired purple belt:

"I'm not worried at all... My las opponent was a purple belt aswell and he only lasted 1.37 into the second round. But what if I decide to keep this fight standing, what would he do? The way I see it I have this in the bank. Aaron better pray for the help of God, Allah, Budda, Shiva, Zeus, Oden and Fedor for him to beat me..."

When Aaron was told of Lewis' recent comments, he couldn't help but give a wry smile. "He's talking about standing with me now? Wow, I didn't expect the news of my purple belt to rattle him so much. A bit of forced bravado may sound good for an interview, but it's clear he thinks he's facing a more dangerous opponent than he did previously. Who needs help from all that lot anyway? I have the help of the Gracie family."

After his loss against Gracie, Mark Lewis talked to the media:

"I guess he was right about me thinking to much about Fouad and the championship. He got the better of me and I lost to a better fighter last night. Right now I will have to think long and hard about what I'm going to do with my career. Franky and Synchronicity has always been good to me but right now I need a few weeks off training and getting my head straight. This loss has made me humble and I believe that Gracie, in a not so distant future, will hold the belt. My hat's off to the guy and we'll be seeing each other in the gym soon."

"I think I got a bit lucky", Gracie said at the post-fight press conference. "Mark is a great fighter and he had me in real trouble from time to time, but I managed to take the opportunities when they presented themselves. It feels sorta weird fighting someone you train with, but Mark is a good guy and I'm sure everything will be fine between us when we get back in the gym."

"8-0..8-0, and poor Mr Black goes 0-2 against Paolo. Paolo wants Franky to give him some COMPETITION in his next fight...he does not want to see Michael 'Houston Alexander' Black anywhere near the title picture again unless he goes on a 5 fight win streak against top fighters"

  • 2 weeks later...

When asked to respond about his thoughts on the Zizzmen fight Paolo had this to say to the reporters

"Well obviously this guy has some skills. He has 8 wins and only the solitary loss but looking at the fighters he has taken on recently they were all Blue or White belts except for Dungeon Master who has no wrestling to speak off. Also these guys were Heavyweights except DM so i have a lot more experience at this level and i feel i have fought people with better overall standup in the past"

Press: 'What about the wrestling though? you have never faced anyone near the level of wrestling Zizzmen has'

"That is true but if he is foolish enough to take me to the ground he is going to end up getting submitted so all i have to do is get the fight to the ground. Who knows though maybe i won't since i have been working on my boxing striking and defence so if it stays on the feet i might just 'shock' a few people and get the first KO of my career."

Press: 'How has training been going? What are you working on?'

"All is good at the moment. I have another week of training to go before i rest to get ready for the fight and it is going good...i'm not going to say what i am training now but as we all know i am in the best gym in the world with great stand up fighters, wrestlers and of course submission specialists so whatever i train we train hard and i am getting better every day"

Press: 'Who do you think is favourite?'

"Me of course. The pressure is on me not him....this is my home not his....he is coming into my backyard and trying to embarrass me in front of MY fans and MY peers. This is Syn City not the CFC so i am working harder than ever to make sure i beat his ass and send him home with his tail between his legs....and when i go to the CFC to fight 'the best in the world' YB Sol i'll have already shown them that Syn is better than CFC and they will have no choice but to respect Paolo Mendez, the best LHW in the world and future number 1 P4P fighter for a long time to come"

Even though it's overshadowed by the impending super fight, I was asked to convey this message from my fighter, Steve Long:

After noting the quality of fighters in Syn City, [and being offered a lot of greenbacks (always a big hit in Russia)], Steve packed his bags, left his beloved friends and training partners in St Pete's, and headed for the glitz of LV.

After rolling over his first opponent, he's a little disappointed with the weak capitalist fighters to be found in the states. Where's the commitment? Where's the drive? Here, it's all about the fame, women, and cash. In the East, they appreciate the beauty of the art.

The next fighter to face Steve had better come ready, or Steve'll knock him down and away faster than a smooth Vodka

Boston-based fighter, Fenny Klorian, heard of Steve Long's comments and pricked up his ears at the slight on US fighters. "I am currently in talks with SynCity about signing with the organisation once the RFC has been sorted out", Fenny announced. "At the moment my career status is in Limbo, but once it has been resolved I will be looking for Franky to organise me a big first fight. If the RFC gets resolved in a timely manner, I'd love for that first opponent to be Steve Long. His last opponent (Chilo Menga) was my first win in the RFC, which gave me the opportunity to fight for the belt", said the RFC LW ex-champion. "I would love the opportunity to show that Commie what an American fighter is really made of."

Recently we caught up with SynCity fighters and team-mates Kenata "Samurai" Takahashi and "Amazing" Aaron Gracie during one of their training sessions at a secret compound in the Nevada bad-lands

Interviewer: Thank you for talking with us Aaron and Kenata. Both of you have fights on the upcoming "Infection" card, featuring an epic cross-promotion fight between Paolo Mendez and Joey Zizzmen. Aaron, your thoughts on your fight?

Aaron: Well I'm thrilled to be able to showcase my skills on such a big card, and against such a great opponent. Barayev is a fantastic grappler, and is the ex-champ, so a win would give me a huge boost to my career. I certainly have the skills to be able to beat him, and I plan on grabbing this opportunity with both hands and choking the life out of it.

I: As you said, Barayev is the ex-champ, and at once stage was once considered the best p4p in the world. Does this make you nervous going into this fight?

A: No, if anything it takes a lot of the pressure off. Barayev is expected to win so if I lose, it won't hurt my ranking too much. Yet if I win, it could be astronomical for my career. He also likes to grapple, so I can fight my game rather than have think about countering his striking. I truly believe I have better grappling skills than him, so I think I have a very good shot at him.

I: Kenata, you are fighting the opening fight against fellow Syn veteran Jin "Dragon" Sen. Your thoughts on this matchup?

Kenata: Jin is a true warrior and I have had respect for him for a very long time. He had some tough fights early in his career, but since then has come back and now his striking looks very dangerous. However I beleive I have some of the best striking defence in SynCity, so I think it is going to be a long and bloody war.

recent radio-interview with Jin "Dragon" Sen

I: hows it going, Jin?

Jin Sen: not too shabby.

I: so youre back in Syn City, ye?

Jin Sen: yeah, they took me back i guess. Ive been fighting in a couple smaller shows in Vegas to get my balls rolling ...

I: well, you looked really good lately.

Jin Sen: that so, huh? listen .. ive started my career with a 0-4-record. everyone else wouldve probably given up at that point, but i stuck with it and look at me now .. fighting in the big show.

I: is it true that youre upcoming fight is scheduled for 5 rounds?

Jin Sen: Yeah i dont know whats up with that. the matchmaker of Syn City must be nuts, they wanna see me getting beat up for 5 rounds i guess. well .. whatever ... i wont quit - you wont see me tab. i dont care who you put me in there with - there isnt anybody at 205 i wont make it a fight with. im not the prettiest guy in the world and not the most skilled but i will fight you and come at you with everything i got - every time. really looking forward to fight Taka. hes the toughest japanese dude i know ... i dont know many .. but still.

I: thank you for the interview, Jin.

Jin Sen: yeah, yeah .. whatever.

A reporter caught up to Kung Lao and Lord Rayden as they were coming out of the gym today. Here's how the interview went.

Reporter: “Kung how are you after that loss to Sean?”

Kung Lao: “Everybody loses, I can deal with a loss. Losing my belt, I know its not the end of the world. I just thought I was supposed to win that fight against Sean. That’s how I felt about it.”

Reporter: “Rayden why do you think Kung Lost?”

Lord Rayden: “I think one of the problems with Kung had in that fight is. The guys been around for so long and he’s so dominate that he wants to try new things and I think that was the problem. I think were gonna see the old Kung Lao come back. He’s gonna come in, shoot, scoop guys up and slam them to the ground. Then get them in a submission. I really think were gonna see the old Kung Lao come back.”

Reporter: “How tough do you think Chase Gamble is going to be kung?”

Kung Lao: “Chase is a tough guy defiantly, but do I think I can put him in uncomfortable situations and naturalise him. Yes I do.”

Lord Rayden: “I can tell you this I have known Kung Lao for a long time and he is fired up and determined to get his belt back. So Chase Gamble is gonna have his work cut out for him.”

Kung Lao: “I need to win this no doubt about it.”

Johnny B: "and up next the main event of the evening, Paolo Mendez against CFC fighter Joey Zizzmen!!!"

*Paolo makes his way onto the stage to a standing ovation before stepping onto the scales*

Johnny B: "Paolo weighs in at 195.7lbs.....and his opponent Canadian Fighting Championships Joey Zizzmen"

*Joey walks on stage to chants of USA USA USA*

Johnny B: "Joey weighs in at 205.3lbs"

*Zizzmen flexs his muscles on the scales as the crowd boo him. He walks over to 'confrontation point' and takes the traditional fists up stance while Paolo rings his arms out before folding them as he stares Zizzmen out*

Johnny B: "This is going to be one hell of a fight folks, Paolo can we get a word from you please?"

Mendez: "Shoot"

Johnny B: "The big fight is only a day away how are you feeling about facing Joey?"

Mendez: "Joey is a good fighter but this is Syn City and he isn't going to come here and upset me. I am going to rip his arm off and mail it back to him in Montreal..................and that is that"

*Mendez walks off the stage*
