Guest
After only two fights in the EFL, Featherweight phenom Jackson Matthews has already made quite an impact on the 145 pound division. "The game doesn't change just because my competition has," says Matthews as he waits for his turn in the ring at Vinny's Gym. The floor is crowded, as many young hopefuls train here to launch their careers. The gym is a veritable shark tank of young talent, but Matthews stands out with his crisp Muay Thai striking and graceful footwork. "I didn't want to take a title fight yet, to be honest. Claremont, he's not training at a place like this, where he has to wait in line for the weights or the mats. Guys like that have private gyms, private limos, private jets. Every advantage that can be bought, he has. But I think I have something that he can't buy with money, and everyone is gonna see at EFL 5. He's tough, but it's just another couple rounds in the cage." So far, Matthews has walked the walk as well as talked the talk, knocking out three of four opponents and out pointing hard-hitting Bill Leslie for three rounds, effectively ending Leslie's career with a highlight-reel worthy performance of striking prowess. Against Claremont, he faces his toughest challenge so far. "Whatever will be, will be. I don't think he can take me down, and I don't think he can knock me out. Hopefully he gets tired of getting hit before I do some permanent damage to him. These small gloves don't diminish the impact very much." Strong words from a fearsome challenger. We will find out if his actions speak as loud, when Jackson Matthews faces Brian Claremont at EFL 5 in a fight for the 145 lb. title.

We will find out if his actions speak as loud, when Jackson Matthews faces Brian Claremont at EFL 5 in a fight for the 145 lb. title. When told of Jackson Matthews recent comments regarding EFL 5 and their up coming title fight "Barrage" Brian Claremont laughed. "First off let me congratulate Matthews on being accepted to train at Kingmaker Elite MMA gym, the place looks nice, a lot better than that dump Vinny's he used to train at. For his sake though I hope he keeps that chip on his shoulder because he's going to need it during the fight. What he forgets however is that I lost my first professional fight and was cut loose and discarded by my first manager. I know hardship and the hard work it takes to get to the top." When asked about his up coming opponent "Barrage" sounded impressed. "Matthews can strike with the best them so I'll need to be careful. I may have to change up my game plan a bit and looks for some opportunities on the ground. In the end though I'm the champ and I don't see that changing any time soon."
Guest
First of all, congratulations to Brian Clairemont; if a man can be measured by the strength of his rivals than Jackson Matthews will be well represented indeed. A strong fighter with top-notch management, it's no wonder he holds the top spot in his division. As for Matthews, he is in the gym full time, and he is more motivated than ever to claw his way back to the top. There is no doubt in my mind that Jackson Matthews will hold the EFC belt in the very near future.

Guest
Reporter: Good afternoon, fight fans! We're here in downtown New York at Vinnie's Gym, and we are lucky to catch up with EFL featherweight Jackson Matthews. How are you feeling today, Jackson? Matthews: I feel good. I'm having a really great training camp, and the guys here at Vinnie's are great. Bad news for The Bandit. Reporter: It definitely seems like you've bounced back from your loss with the featherweight champ, Brian Clairemont. Any plans on a rematch? Matthews: Well, I'm not scared of anyone, and eventually I know I will have to face him again. But for now, he is the better fighter and I haven't evolved enough since our fight. Who knows why will happen between then and now; in this business nothing is ever certain. But I am not ready to face him again now, no. Reporter: If you aren't ready to fight for the title right away, what are your plans for the immediate future? Matthews: For now, I'm just trying to learn and soak up everything I can. I'm hitting the gym all day every day, and I'm constantly improving. Nobody knows what's gonna happen, so I'm just taking it one fight at a time. Reporter: Thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. Do you have anything to say in closing to all the EFL fans out there? Matthews: Yeah. I'd like to thank my coach, John Sullivan. He keeps a good group of people around me to advise me and keep me motivated. Shout out to the guys at Pit Bull development for all their support. Their products are fantastic. And Urban Fighter keeps me looking good, so check out their line of clothes and send some love their way. And my condolences in advance to The Bandit; I'm going to take your head clean off your shoulders, son. There's no shame in tapping to strikes if you're dying.
Demo
The EFL Returns - Event Preview Eastern Fighting League (EFL) is a fight org based out of NY and the next big event that’s being held is the EFL returns fight night taking place in the fantastic Liberty Dome where over 5,000 bodies will be crammed in to see 3 fantastic title fights on the night. The main event on the night is the Lightweight title fight between Midget and Gustavsson. Justin "Angry" Midget Gustav "Gremlin" Gustavsson Record 23-13-0 (W-L-D) Record 4-0-0 (W-L-D) http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/20/20b9.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/39/39w4.jpg Midget is the defending champ in this division having dispatched Mark Mitchell on the 24th June last. Midget has also defended this title on 2 other occasions in May when defeating McGee and Mills. Next fighter to try to wrestle the title from the midget is the Gremlin Gustavsson. Not sure how the Gremlin got his name but I’m not going to tempt fate by pouring water on him on fight night! Gremlin has only 4 fights to his name to date but all of them are wins and despite his inexperience he has the heart of a lion and should be able to put it up to the Midget who despite his advancing age (says the 40+ year old!) still has a lot in the tank and will be hard to dislodge from the the title. Some say that Midget talks to the title belt he has it that long so if he loses this fight who knows what it’ll do to his mental health! Midget last 6 fights ended in wins for him and all wins were by way of Submission so this is a guy that knows how to fight on the ground as all his wins are by way of submission. The tale of the tape couldn’t be any different for the Gremlin who has won all his fights by way of TKO, KO & Submission - Strikes with his debut fight ending after only 19 seconds so this is a man that attacks and attacks from the start, this aggression is the absolute opposite to Midget’s normal counter attacking style, The Gremlin has the advantage in this fight by way of height and weight and is the much better fighter in boxing and MT with Midget shading it in the Wrestling and BJJ. Midget is waaaaay more popular than Gremlin but I think this fight could be an upset for Midget who is going to be really angry when he loses his title. I think that if Gremlin can stay standing and keep striking aggressively he might have a chance here! I’m gonna go with the underdog for this fight. VERDICT Gustavvson Next title fight on the cards is the Lightweight showdown between Matthews and Brown "Action" Jackson Matthews Antonio "The Angel" Brown Record 6-1-0 (W-L-D) Record 5-1-0 (W-L-D http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/27/27b16.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15290293252122.gif Brian Claremont is the current holder of this belt but it’s up for grabs on Saturday for these 2 fighters. Jackson unsuccessfully tried for this belt once before when he lost to Brian Claremont on the 27th May last so he will be hoping for success against the Angel this weekend. Actions only loss to date was this title fight so he is a fighter than knows how to win and has won all his fights (bar one) by way of TKO Strikes/Punch, he is built like an Ox and hits like a freight train so it’s no wonder that 3 of his wins have ended in round one after only a few seconds. In Actions last fight he threw 37 punches in the fight which ended in round 2 when Matthews showed no mercy and the ref had to put him down to stop him from killing his last opponent! The angel is a different kind of fighter with all of his wins by way of Submissions of varying kinds with his only loss being his first fight by way of unanimous decision. This is the Angels first title shot and he will be looking to make the most of his shot at glory, he is known to have a granite chin so should be interesting to see how it holds up to Actions punches! Brown is the much better at boxing and BJJ with Action showing some skills in MT and Wrestling, he is also enormously popular so the crowd will be vociferous in the support of him on Saturday. This is a hard one to call but I think that Matthews can come away with the title on Saturday. VERDICT: Matthews The next title up for grabs on the night is the Light Heavyweight division and this is a battle between Jhonson and Simpson Pather "Professional" Jhonson Joe "The Blitz" Simpson Record 2-0-0 (W-L-D) Record 1-2-0 (W-L-D) http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/43/43w3.jpg http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/9/9w14.jpg The Professional has earned his nickname as a young man breaking into houses in his home town of Odessa in Mexico, after a string of success he was nicked by the Federali’s and he was given a 2 year sentence in one of the toughest max security prisons in Mexico and that has turned him into the absolute fighting machine that he is now! He has 2 wins to his name by way of Submission with his most recent submission earning his 1,000 and the sub of the night award. He is facing Simpson on Saturday who looks to be a bit downbeat coming off the back of 2 defeats in his last 2 fights both of his defeats were by way of submission so things don’t look good for him on Saturday against the Professional who shows the much better talent on the deck. It's worth noting that Simpsons last defeat was to Jhonson on the 30th June. Simpson shades it on the Boxing and MT fronts but Jhonson is much better in the Wrestling and BJJ side of the house and looks to be more physcholically prepared for this title fight. I’m calling this as a title for Jhonson and it will probably not go past the first round. VERDICT: Jhonson Summary of the rest of the card is as follows: Al Oxford David Wallace 5-2-0 (W-L-D) 6-1-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: Wallace Mark Mitchell Trent Ruta 4-2-0 (W-L-D) 1-2-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: Mitchell Drengot Estrados 2-1-0 (W-L-D) 2-0-0 (W-L-D Verdict: Estrados Bandit Rodrigo 0-1-0 (W-L-D) 0-2-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: Rodrigo St John Diaz 4-2-0 (W-L-D) 2-1-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: St John Hardini Road 2-2-0 (W-L-D) 2-0-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: Road Bufflo King 0-2-0 (W-L-D) 1-1-0 (W-L-D) Verdict: King Thats all for now folks best of luck to all the fighters and managers involved at the weekend and I will be setting up bookies odds shortly for this event. Guest
Jackson Matthews: Jiu Jitsu? Seems like an excuse for two guys to cuddle. Never had another man wrap his legs around my waist before, and I don't plan on starting now. I'm going to clip The Angel's wings. My prediction: KO. Round one. Punches to the fucking face, the way God intended man to win fights.

Guest
EFL 15: Main Event Preview http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/15/15w1.jpg "Barrage" Brian Claremont vs George "Mormont" Red http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/27/27w30.jpg Natural Weight: 145lb Natural Weight: 145lb Age: 21 Age: 19 Record: 5-1-0 Record 1-0-0 County: United States County: Albania Rank: 1 Rank: 3 Height: 5'10 Height: 5'1 This Bantamweight championship bout is going to be undoubtedly exciting, with both fighters having 100% finish rates. The belt is currently vacant, so this decides the first Bantamweight champion of the Eastern Fighting League. http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20180413195454Belt3.jpg Brian Claremont has 5 straight knockouts in the EFL. 3 of those were in the first round. He's the former featherweight champion of the EFL, and is looking for another belt and weight class to dominate. The crowd is definitely behind him. Representing Georgia, he looks to put his streak on the line, and become the first 2 weight class champion on September 8th. He has a massive 9 inch height advantage over George, and is going to look at keeping him at range and picking him apart. George Red is undefeated in the EFL as well, albeit with only one fight. He brings superior BJJ to the table, but lacks in striking. He's also the younger fighter, at 19 years old. Brian Claremont is known to talk a lot, so we'll see how this and nerves affect George Red in his upcoming fight. George Red is looking to upset, and become the new EFL Bantamweight Champion. George is massively lacking in height, being 9 inches shorter than Claremont. If he's going to have any chance of winning this, he should focus on closing the distance and using his grappling. After all, Brian Claremont's only loss is a submission. Betting Odds Undisclosed Edited August 25, 2018 by impervious42
Guest
Brian Clairemont Smashed another division. I may have to go up to 155 to take that belt, too. In the meantime, I feel pretty unbeatable at 135.

HareRumpler
Is this a dead org? The gym just closed this past week I think...and there have been no events scheduled or run for the past 10 days where they were running every 7 days. Last one was 11-10 with none scheduled going forward. There are a bunch of fighters in the org, so I don't know if they are trapped in limbo or if something has been communicated...?
