An interview with Yuuri Yushima. He talks about his last fights, his future, and his brother.
Reporter ®: Good afternoon Yushima!
Yuuri Yushima (Y): Hello!
R: First. You just won a fight nearly a week ago. How do you feel?
Y: I feel great. I would loved to finish that fight... But still, a win is a win.
R: Well, you needed that win, after you lost your title.
Y: I knew it too. Honestly... I felt very bad after that loss. Before that fight, I always thought that I either sub, or KO my opponent. And the finishing move just happened. I really hope that sometimes this feeling will come back.
R: Huh... Thanks, for telling how you feel. Well, talking about losses. You lost your first fight, against Yu Pu. And now, you are in the same org. Do you want a rematch?
Y: Maybe... If it's for the title, then yes. If not, it would be a stepback for both of us. But you can never know, anything can happen.
R: So, you don't want to avenge your loss?
Y: Why do people want these weird pro-wrestling angles? (laughs)
R: We're talking about past... What's your favourite fight?
Y: It definitly has to be the Freddy Evans one. On paper, he was better than me in every aspect of the game. Still, he got KTFOed. And that event was huge!
R: Now, let's talk about your future. What are you planning?
Y: What should I answer? (laughs) I want to be champion again, at any cost.
R: At any cost? Would you fight anyone?
Y: Yeah.
R: Even your brother?
Y: Well, except him.
R: But it's granted, that if he wins he's debut, he'll fight at ICON Rising Sun events. And he's a Bantamweight too.
Y: That's right, but he still has a long way to go. He's game isn't well-rounded.
R: So, you say you better than him.
Y: I didn't say that! He has world class BJJ, he's a brown belt, and he's a black belt Judoka. He can submit anyone.
R: Even you?
Y: Why do you want to do this brother vs brother thing? It's old as hell.
R: Well, I think it's enough for today. One more thing: why do you write your name the old japanese way, when your brother writes his in the american way?
Y: It's pretty easy. He changed it because he doesn't want misunderstanding.
R: Ok then, thank you for today's interview.
Y: I thank you.
