Synchronicity's New Era

GBK16

Recommended Posts

With weeks of speculation running rife on the future of one of MMA Tycoon’s greatest ever orgs, concerns were rising that this may be the end of Synchronicity. The org that brought you legends such as Jin Sen, Fidel Puno, Jigoro Kane, Kid Torres and Hakuin Ekaku was brought to a standstill. With Louie taking a sabbatical from the fight org game, former owner Dale Mac stepped up to take the reins of the org….but would find himself needing to step away himself just a few weeks into his ownership.

Louie was on the hunt for a new manager to lead the org. His mails out to the public would lack the answer he so desperately needed…..until now.

Syn found the 12th* owner of its storied history, and the 10th individual to hold that honour. Grant Brophy is a manager with a history of running PPV level orgs. He began running Troid back in early 2014, eventually leading a sequence of mergers involving Stu MacK’s IMMA and Listerman’s Imperial FC before securing massive mergers with Ryan Epicity’s Epicity Productions to form Troid EP, and then the biggest one of all as he reached an agreement with John Hetfield’s Insanity to merge….forming the new powerhouse known as Trinity. Under both the Troid EP and Trinity banners, the org held the #1 spot after their events for over a year before real life took away Grant and John’s ability to run the org. They would eventually sell the org in a merger with CEC, but they retain the rights to the Trinity name to this day.

Speaking of the Trinity ownership, Synchronicity are delighted to announce that partnership will continue as John Hetfield has agreed to join the org as the V.P. of Creative and Media Output. John’s outstanding resumé of work in the game is second to none, and his experience at running organisations at PPV level will mean he can give vital input when needed.

A big thanks has to go to King Kendrick (Ovoxo) who has helped the org in its time of need during Dale’s inactivity to ensure the past few events have gone down superbly. Those events kept the org stable during the transitional period, and it is now able to kick on and continue to deliver the blockbuster events that have come to be associated with the great org.

Louie will be remaining with Syn, providing input from time to time when he is able. While not a full-time member, he will act as a consultant for the org which is a role perfect for him giving his long history with the org. EricJ should also be given a special mention for maintaining his work during this difficult time, and he will be remaining a member of the Syn Staff as they look to piece together a backroom team to maintain the legacy of the great org.

Syn has historically gone through a lot of good times, and a some bad times. While these past few weeks may have caused some worry over the orgs future, I hope that now people will look forward to the next stage of Syn’s existence. I would hope that the team being assembled to run Syn will give everyone some hope that the org will be in good hands. When I sold Trinity, I basically said that was me done with the org game as far as an active hand in the running of one, but this was simply an opportunity to be a part of the games history that I couldn’t pass up. I would hope my past history with an org, along with John’s history, will mean people are excited about Syn being a well run org with plenty of excitement around its events.

The game has been lacking a certain excitement when it came to the fighters, events and rivalries, and that is something we will be hoping to bring back. There will be write ups to some degree, promoted events, and tournaments being run with the details needing to be ironed out.

With all that being said, we have just one last thing to say. Welcome to Synchronicity.

I'd like to see a lot of the top orgs merge into Syn and make it the UFC blueprint of the game. You can't use GAMMA cuz it's trademarked by Greydog so Mentor could continue being Bellator. If Gus, Jamie, Bradley, Aspire people (just noticed Shiv went awol again) all joined forces, and maybe recruit a few other helpers... hell you could even pay Alexander Biro from Duel FC to handle contracts lol... I don't see why a bunch of people couldn't come together and keep it stable. even if you just designate divisions to certain owners.

yall should be able to get together and host legitimate TUF shows (ID restricted tournaments).

probably have a feeder org for ID or guys who drop out of top X amount of p4p.

and an ID restricted org that rotates every 20K or 30K ID's.

i.e. 320K ID, once reaches 340K you release all fighters (obv try to sign em all to Syn) and host TUF style tournament(s). Winner gets a trophy and a 6 fight 6 figure contract.

I think it'd be healthy for the game to have a lot of the top org owners under one roof collaborating with each other rather than working against one another.

Good luck! I have left the office cause my fingers were itching to offer Sackett a 100 mil contract lol

P.s.: i don't think that having competition is bad for the org scene. Competition is what makes you improve, offer something extra like a cool write-up, design or tournament. If all org owners decide to cooperate, in the end you might have one big shitty org and nowhere else to fight. But I like that idea of having some ID tourneys for younger fighters - let them get the atmosphere of fighting in a big PPV org for a few fights. And I agree that Biro is the master of contract offers, he handles his fighters like chinese kids.

I think C "K" K is on to something here.

Haven't been this excited about an org in a long time. Grant and John have proven throughout the years that they're some of the best org owners in the game.

I expect high quality from both of them and hope to see the quality write ups that I had been used to seeing in Troid and Trinity.

Good luck guys! Maybe try and get another good org owner on board and splitting the divisions so none of you get burnt out?

there's enough orgs out there and others will probably pop up. If they made one big shitty org, the managers and fighters won't tolerate that for too long, others would thrive on their failures.

there's no "UFC" here. no clear cut top org. you have about 5-6 orgs pretending to be UFC but the top fighters are scattered all over the place.

And there is nothing wrong with top fighters being scattered over 5-6 orgs.

Why dont the top orgs bring back the Olympics , from what little I read that would fix any issues while not monopolizing talent.

I'm finding it tough to find fights between contenders within orgs at certain weight classes, would be nice to have more stacked competition.

Exactly. The worst thing that could happen is that one elite org buys up nearly all the other ones.

Work together as orgs, but be competitive as well, that's what it is about.

Olympics were fantastic, but the org game will need more time to get back to that level. Wouldn't make any sense to organise them at this point in time yet. Some mid-level orgs need to evolve into top household orgs first.

So new breaking news in just now, Gbk16 needed some time off with his family and gone away from the game

The most shocking about that part is, I never knew he was from Belgium.

Anyway!

Thank you all for the kind words, we'll do our best to keep Syn at the top and make sure the quality of the org also remains as one of the top rated orgs in the game. The org has a nice set of staff and it's awesome that Louie is still there as well. Even though I haven't had contact with him in a while myself, Louie has always been a great guy to me and was awesome to work with when he had fighters in Insanity and Trinity.

I'd like to see a lot of the top orgs merge into Syn and make it the UFC blueprint of the game.........................................

I think it'd be healthy for the game to have a lot of the top org owners under one roof collaborating with each other rather than working against one another.

I highly doubt that is feasible, there have been attempts to have a UFC type org, but the problem is:

#1 there will always be more than one person wanting to be the boss and if that is not the case it basically means the org has an activity case

#2 You cannot have all the top talent in one org, eventually you will have the problem of booking everyone. I have on average 90-100 fighters, 90% are top 1000, 30 are top 200 and i often struggle to run enough events (i run 5 per month), if you run more you get hit in the balls by the depreciating returns (i tried it and felt the damage).

The way to go is simply create something like a "league" among the top 4 orgs. The top orgs will be represented by the orgs with the most top talent (ranked by P4P), maybe have total fighter in the top 200. The league will last 3 months and the total super fights among the orgs will be taken into consideration, have a scoring system (i dunno, something like 2 points per win, 1 per draw) and the super fight needs to be between 2 top 200 talent. There will be a pool of cash the winning org takes etc. End of the season you have a new one, the top 4 orgs could be totally different, depending on the talent they have and you continue.

The main issue usually is the communication between top orgs, some org owners are very slow to respond, even in the top orgs, negotiations could take weeks in some cases, it is a real pain in the ass. It would really help if Mike would add some "send fighter" option for 1 fight, that automatically gets paid by the new org and then they come back, it would also help if that fight was considered part of the parent org for lineage reasons. This would also save time for sending contracts and renegotiating while on FA.

That is easy to say, try running a top org and you will see what will eventually happen when you get a top / dominant champ. Super fights become necessary for everyone eventually, especially if you want to push for the #1 spot. Personally i prefer what you are saying, fight the top contender and end of story, but it does not work that way.

It is a fucked up story cause hype doesn't represent skill in every case. I mean, you know what I mean. If there is one division with best fighters in the game(skillwise), only 1 or 2 fighters there would have high hype. While there could be other orgs where a less skilled fighter fights even less skilled opposition and has much higher hype than the majority of the better fighters in the first org. Opposition's skill should be somehow taken into consideration when calculating hype gains/losses but I have absolutely no clue how. Total skill points is not a good factor cause a fighter could be at the cap but have all skills at wonderful for example.
