Welcome everyone to the first edition of Budokai: Fighters In Focus, a new show where we will get a deeper look into the minds of the brightest young fighters in the world today.

Joining us today on this monumental occasion is the Budokai FF Featherweight Champion, Taylor "Nightmare" Jack

Q: We know you're currently the Budokai FF Featherweight Champion but let's start at the beginning shall we? You made your MMA debut at the tender age of 18, but what was Taylor Jack before he was a professional fighter - did you train purely in MMA or did you make the transition from another sport first?

A: First let me say thank you for doing this interview with me! When I was 16 years old I started doing boxing training in my garage and start fighting in amateur league,I had a 20-0 record in amateur boxing and after 20 fights I said fuck this I'm quiting boxing and try MMA and you can see where I am right now and what I am doing in MMA

Q: You earned a knockout victory on the regional scene in Las Vegas (where you also train), which ultimately earned you a contract with Budokai Fighting Federation all the way in Tokyo. What made you choose to fight on the other side of the planet, instead of closer to home in "The Entertainment Capital of the World" where promotions such as Konflikt FC are located?

A: I chose to fight the other side of the planet because when I saw the Budokai contract I realized that contract could be a big step in my life and my professional fighter career

Q: Your first showing for BFF was against Dominick Bidon Cruz, a barn-burner in which you emerged victorious although suffering some adversity early courtesy of a one-two to the body. What lessons did you learn from this fight and did your debut live up to your expectations?

A: I thought I was unbeatable and I thought if I tried to finish the fight in the first round I would attract the attention of all, I missed the cross and saw my free body and caught me with his combination. After that fight, I learned a lot; anyone can be defeated and in a second it can change everything in this life

Q: In your last fight, you took on the undefeated Champion Yeu Fei, an extremely tough mixed martial artist who up until that point had finished all of his opponents in the first round. How nervous were you going into that one as the underdog, and did anything surprise you in that fight?

A: I have studied very well Yeu Fei's fights and started a very serious field training and with the best fighters in muay thai. I knew I was going to be an underdog but that never changed my mind that I would win the fight very easy. I was a little nervous one week before the fight, after that crazy week I woke up and I proposed to myself to dominate all the rounds and show the world what they can do when they think me underdog. I felt great after hearing 'THE NEW!'

Q: Now that you're on top of the world so to speak, how are you adjusting to your new life as Champion?

A: I knew it gonna happen when I saw the fight offer for the title, so nothing changed. I am still the same guy that works hard and keeps shocking the world every fucking day.

Q: Finally, what's next for "Nightmare"?

A: I think next goal for me it's to defend the Budokai title. I will be able to show people who doubted me what crazy life I am able to have and I fucking love it! I am not sure how the future looks for you but for me looks pure gold. Thanks to Mr. Rei and Mr. Tim for doing an amazing job with Budokai!

Stay tuned for more!

Great content, if we had more org owners like Rei the Tycoonuniverse would be a better place.

Welcome everyone to the second edition of Budokai: Fighters In Focus, a new show where we will get a deeper look into the minds of the brightest young fighters in the world today.
Joining us today in the lead up to his First title defence is the Budokai FF Heavyweight Champion, Ross Kemp.

Q: The best way to tell a story is to start from where it began. How were you introduced into the world of combat sport? Also you are originally from Stanhope, a tiny town in Country Durham. What prompted the move to London?
A: Growing up in the small town of Stanhope with not much prospects of work i moved to London looking for a brighter future but I was soon to find the dream of London was nothing more than a seedy underworld controlled by foreign gangs, fighting on the streets was the only way to survive and to make any decent money.
Q: After winning your first ever professional fight in just 13 seconds you were approached by Budokai Fighting Federation in Tokyo. What made you choose to fight there and not other organisations such as Konflikt or ANC?
A: Well soon as I won that fight, back stage in my dressing room I was approached by 3 dodgy looking characters all offering me good contracts with okay-ish money to join their orgs. There was no clear way of sorting the chaos out as scuffles broke out between org owners, so rock paper scissors sorted the situation.
Q: Although beginning your BFF campaign with a knockout loss to Li Chong Po, you have since gone on a tear - knocking out 4 opponents all in the first round and even managed to dethrone the dominant Champion Bernd Obermueller in the process. How did you learn from your mistakes and improve so much in such a short time-span?
A: It was a big shock to me. I'm not making excuses but the crowd, the lights, and the lack of air in that arena got to me. I was like a rabbit in the headlights, but all respect to Po for the good finish. Since then I put my sleeping bag down in the gym and started training 7 days a week, as you can see all the hard work is paying off.
Q: How's life treating the Budokai FF Heavyweight Champion and #1 pound for pound fighter, and has anything in your day to day changed since you captured the title?
A: Nothing much has changed if anything I'm doing 8 days training a week now, life is sweet the women love me and I've even done a little TV work. Also some good training with the Marines, all thanks to claiming the Title in awesome style.
Q: Finally, you have just put pen to paper and it has been announced you will be rematching Li Chong Po for your first title defence as the main event of BFF 32. How excited are you for the opportunity of revenge, and how do you expect to earn the victory?
A: Yes, yes, yes! I've been watching and waiting for this chance to take revenge for a long time the shame of that loss draped around my neck I can finally right the wrong of that 1st fight. I'm hoping take the fight the distance so I make sure to open them old cuts back up and make it a blood bath.
Q: Cheers for giving us time out of your busy schedule Ross, we appreciate it.
A: Thanks, its been a pleasure and I'm sure I will see Rei ring side for the big fight so make sure he brings his umbrella
As always, stay tuned for more!

Welcome everyone to the third edition of Budokai: Fighters In Focus, a show where we will get a deeper look into the minds of the brightest young fighters in the world today.

I am joined here today with the Budokai Middleweight Champion, Balder Bull just before Budokai 36 where he will be aiming to defend his belt for the third time.

JZYkhjb.png

Q.) Thanks for giving me some of your time, Balder. We sit here today just a few days before you headline your second straight Budokai event, in a fight which sees you matched with a younger and hungry contender - Blaise Pascual - as he attempts to usurp your throne. How are your nerves at the moment, or is it business as usual on your end?

A.) Seems this guy had a good run, but it ends here trampled under the bull charge. Nerves? No way.

Q.) Your professional record is currently 7-0-0, and you have finished 6 of your opponents in the very first round. How important is it for you to keep your record unblemished and undefeated? Is defending your belt just as important?

A.) I love my record. I love my first round victories. In fact I love them so much that looking back at my record it bothers me that one fight went the distance all the way to a judges decision. That Biffa Bacon guy was a tough bastard, a real slugger who never went down. I remember he was looking real good back then, perfect record as well before our fight. Last thing I heard he completely lost motivation after that title fight and is now in some little shithole gym out in nowhere. I almost wish he would go back into serious training and come back to BFF, he could rise in the ranks again if he put his mind to it. I have no losses to avenge, but if someone deserves a rematch it would be Biffa Bacon.

Q.) Lets wind it back a bit. You began your career in the now-defunct Kings FC, where you went 3-0 before signing with Budokai FF. How did you deal with the change of scenery as you now had to travel across the globe instead of fighting near to your current home? Also, as adapting to fighting in a ring difficult for you?

A.) Yes that was my start in MMA, not as high level fighters as BFF maybe, but a good place to start out. I was living in Sydney at the time training in public gyms there and travelling to London for my fights. Then one day my manager was practically told by some shady guys to close down his clothing business and get the fuck out of Sydney. Not really sure what he was involved in there business-wise, but he just packed up overnight and told me we were going to London and he was opening up a gym there instead. So then I was in London, but then Kings were no more and I signed with BFF and am now travelling to Tokyo for my fights. I don't mind really, usually stopping in my home country Turkey on my way back. Getting some following there now, met the president and all last time over. And I like Tokyo, got some history here as well since my boxing days before I started MMA. So no I don't mind the long trips, most of the time don't even feel the time passing to be honest, almost like I was teleported here. And I think the ring is good for my style, used to the ropes from boxing.

Q.) You only began fighting in Mixed Martial Arts at age 25, a lot older than some of the youngsters rising up the ranks these days. Do you feel as though the kids are catching up, or should we expect to see you reign at the top for quite some time?

A.) I haven't seen any kids catching up around here. Like I said the only guy who gave me a good hard fight was Bacon and he is about my age.

Q.) It's been noted that you cut literally no weight to make the 185 limit, so I've got to ask. Has a move down to the Welterweight division ever tickled your fancy? Maybe to attempt to capture a belt for your other shoulder?

A.) I never thought about it, but now that you say it.. two belts would look good on me.

Q.) Before all of that though, you fight this weekend in front of a sold out Hayashi's lounge. How do you expect to go home with the W? Will it be another first round KO?

A.) Pascual seems to have a boxing background, I respect that, could be a tough guy. But I'd still beat him in boxing and in MMA I'll toss him around some too just for good measure, he doesn't seem to have much on the ground.. if anything. Of course I'll get him in the first round, always my goal. But not early, I have a feeling this guy may last a couple of minutes. Just keep the cameraman alert, I can promise you there will be some big shots flying this fight and I want to look just as good on the highlight reels as last time.

And that's it for this episode, folks - until next time!
