Rei
Currently have 9 entrants signed up, please get in contact with me if you are interested, so we can extend it to a 16 man bracket
Rei
Have eleven now, still looking to get 16 men to participate as that would make for a better tournament. Â If things start taking way too long (hopefully they don't) then we can start with BYE's for some people. Â Thanks for the patience guys, it'll be worth it! Rei
Alright, its taking too long. On Saturday I will begin sending out fight offers, and I will post the bracket. Â Because we sadly didn't hit 16 entrants, some will be given byes - this will be randomly generated and I will put up a video of me beginning the draft. Â YOU MAY STILL ENTER UNTIL FRIDAY MIDNIGHT GMT+
dvjmw
Rei Rei To avoid byes maybe set it up as pool play. Two divisions 1 group of 5, 1 group of 6. Each fighter in each division has 4 fights for seeding. Then after pool play you can take either the top 2 from each division and do a double elimination tournament or you can keep all eleven and do single elimination tournament. Â Just a little different twist since you don't have a nice number of fighters to play with. Â Just a thought.

We now have 12 entrants, and enough to have two groups of six, both randomly generated. Each member in the group will fight one another once, and the two with the highest scores in each group at the end of it will progress onto a 4-man knockout stage.  Tomorrow I will post the groups, the bracket, and more detailed information regarding the structure and rules of the tournament.  Thank you for your continued patience, and I can't wait to get this thing kicked off!
Rei
http://i.imgur.com/QgZFZDE.png http://i.imgur.com/1TIHri6.png Let's begin! This Road to Gold tournament will run a little differently to the previous due to the number of entrants, and thanks to an interesting suggestion by dvjmw above. The tournament will be split into two parts, with the first being a round-robin stage in which the twelve entrants will be randomly sorted into two groups of six. Each person in the respective groups will fight one another once, and after all of the matches have taken place the second stage will begin. The two highest scoring fighters from Group A and Group B will move on to the second part of the tournament, which will be a single elimination format. A fight for third place will also be included. Fights will take place every three / four weeks, and will begin on the 10th of February (to allow for one entrant's currently booked fight to take place) on Bushido 40 The entrants have been randomly seeded into two groups and are as follows: http://i.imgur.com/RToAgiC.png The groups are as follows: http://i.imgur.com/ErJyYyP.png Matches: http://i.imgur.com/NzkBqya.png

I hope to do a bit better than him though. Seems like I need to try and avoid Snoats.
Rei
Basically I'm an idiot and forgot to include a fighter, after previously telling them they had a place in the tournament. I will be revising the bracket, match ups and everything else today and posting them as soon as they become available.  As of right now, Group A will have 7 fighters instead of 6, unless I get news back from someone I've contacted to balance both groups out to 7-7.  FIGHTS WILL STILL BEGIN ON BUSHIDO 40 ON FEBRUARY 10TH, so please do not worry  apologies for the delay

Rei
We've had our first dropout, Freddy Warren has chosen to leave the tournament. All people fighting him in the upcoming weeks will be given a win for that round. Â I expect a few more of these, but hopefully not too many.. JLP
That was a much tougher first round then I expected for Snoats. I think both mine and my opponents gameplans were entirely different then expected. I'm kind of bummed he got knocked down and rocked for the first time. I never saw the recovery text, but he also never fought like he was rocked either. Â We also had another drop out. Unfortunately I dont think this format will work due to length of competition. Snoats will be in until its scrapped.

Snoats, you were the last person to beat me but i have improved a lot since then. Let's see if fate brings our paths together again in this tournament. Rei
Hey everyone! As you know, the first round of the tournament kicked off earlier today and here were the match ups / results: Â As mentioned before, fighters will be given a free win for the weeks that they are meant to be fighting vs. participants that have dropped out. For the first week, it was Freddy Warren, and now Thor Odinson has too. If someone picks him up though, I'll ask them if they'd like to continue in the tournament.
