  1. To be fair, remember 2 things. Sitting cage side, it can be difficult to see the action. And when your caught up in the excitement of the action and trying to convey that, its very easy to call a wrong move. Its not as easy as you would think to call an MMA fight. I've done hockey play by play, and I've sat cage side next to broadcasters for MMA. Its a pretty tough gig.
  2. First of all, my beliefs being idiotic is a matter of opinion. But showing respect for one another is common courtesy. You, are just acting like a prick. Its unnecessary. You can talk down to me all you want. I'm a 30 year old man, I'm the man I'm going to be. Your little rude comments aren't going to change what I believe. But, what I'm trying to say is, that you have the right to believe what you want, just like we do. And we all have the freedom to express our opinions. But to be rude, and disrespectful to other people is not appreciated, warranted, or called for. You want to challenge what Christians believe, fine. Make an argument, state your case. But by making fun of people who believe in a god, your no better than some small minded little prick making a racial joke. Good for a cheap laugh, but still makes you look like a jerk off. And for me, common sense excludes some basic tenets of atheism. So where's your common sense argument? And I don't think I'm being hypocritical, because you do have the freedom to express yourself. But there are socially acceptable limits. Being an asshole and just insulting someone, most people would agree, is out of bounds. If someone opens up the topic, "Here's what I believe and why", go ahead and express yourself all you want. But, and you'll figure this out as you get older, there are times when you should just shut the fuck up. Its called courtesy. You have the right to say what you want to say. And I have the right to think it makes you a complete asshole and tell you to shut up about it. So where do our mutually exclusive rights meet? Where does your freedom of expression start to impede on my freedom of religion and vice versa? It is a two way street. You can't possibly believe your the only one who's rights matter. I don't know, listening to you, you just might be that egotistic. But I think that if someone had gone in to some random topic and started evangelizing, that would be uncalled for. You just don't start evangelizing at random. That's my freedom of religion & expression not impeding on yours. So the opposite would be true. For you to come into this topic and start insulting people, and belittling them for their beliefs is your freedom of expression impeding on mine. The bottom line is, we all have the same rights and freedoms, but we don't have the right to step on other people's rights. And that's what your doing. So show people the same respect your given, or continue to be a piece of shit. Either way, your opinions matter for about zero to me. So keep wasting your time.
  3. Truth. I've seen a :16 TKO that was more entertaining than some 15 minute fights. The question is, how closely related to the time of KO is the fight rating?
  4. Do you have the right to just open up and say what you want? Sure, its the internet, what are we going to do? But to just open up and attack a kid who wasn't trying to evangelize you because of his beliefs is just a dick move. And you should learn when to exercise your right to free speech and when to just shut up and leave well enough a lone. And just like you have the right to act like an asshole and insult someone's belief. He has the right to believe it. So just as he's respecting you by not trying to evangelize you. How about you show him some fucking respect by shutting the hell up about it?
  5. What your talking about is good, healthy debate. A photoshopped picture of the Bible with a LOL smiley face isn't good, healthy debate. Its the equivalent of a racist 'joke'. I'm sure I think some of the things you believe are ridiculous, like evolution. Evolution is based on bad scientific method. There's no actual proof of evolution. The fossil record is nothing more than circumstantial, and carbon dating is a flawed process. I think evolution is fucking ludicrous. But I'll be shouted down for being ignorant for saying so, while people taking pot shots at someone's belief system find themselves on the moral high ground. You want good healthy debate, that's fine. But the kid was asking for some help with his spiritual leader. He wasn't walking around saying "God hates fags" (which He doesn't), and he wasn't walking around calling you guys sinners for being MMA fans. So to take cheap shots at the kid is just that, a cheap shot. You don't believe in god, that's fine. That's your choice. But some of us have taken a different path, and just like he respected you for not calling you stupid, I think you should respect him by not calling him stupid. If he steps out of line and starts acting like Pat Robertson, fine. Then call him on it. But to just open up for no reason other than you don't like what he thinks is no better than what his youth leader was doing.
  6. Or you could respect the guy for his beliefs rather than taking cheap shots.
  7. @WOG - you would pick the 3 designs I didn't make. I've got 4 fight nights to cover this week, along with some other responsibilities. I'm going to be off the site probably until next Monday. If your waiting on a design, hang in there. I'll get to it as soon as I clear my plate.
  8. First of all, I'll say don't judge God based on His followers. A lot of us can act pretty fucking retarded sometimes. That being said, I remember the same argument when it was applied to punk/hardcore/metal (and even ska) about a decade ago. Understanding something is no excuse to call it satanic. Neither is not liking something. For a couple hundred years its been a popular thing for people who consider themselves to have the moral high ground to push around commoners into believing the way they do. Don't buy it. People who force their morality on others aren't as convicted in their beliefs as they want you to believe. Doubt me? Look at all the "Family Value" Republicans who get caught smashing their secretary, their Argentinian lover, or some random dude in St. Paul. There is nothing in the Bible that condemns sports at all, neither does it condemn combat sport. The Bible is mute on the issue, and therefore should be left to individual discretion, just like movies and music. A church leader no matter how senior, is in no position to condemn something as "satanic", its simply an ignorant reaction to something he doesn't like. He's put off by combat sport, so obviously it has to be wrong. He probably doesn't drink any alcohol or listen to rock and/or roll music. You might remind him that Sunday's Hymns are typically repurposed drinking songs from so long ago everybody's forgotten that fact. You might also want to point out that Satan doesn't have any authority to persuade us from the Righteous path. Or, maybe your youth leader should reread the book of Job. The devil couldn't tempt Job without God's permission. But, for something to be "satanic", it has to serve the purpose of undermining someone's faith in God. It has to actively take worship away from God. That simply doesn't happen. Nobody has given up Jesus for MMA. The problem is, this is an endless debate. First it was women showing knees and elbows. Then it was rock and roll. After that it was R-rated movies. Then it went back to music. Now its MMA. Some people are distracted by these things. Personally, I can't listen to some kinds of music that I used to listen to, because it distracted me too much from God. So you and your youth leader have to have a real simple conversation and agree that while MMA isn't the tool of Satan, that you respect that it causes him problems with his faith. And as a Christian, its your job not to hurt other Christian's relationship with God. Don't bring this temptation into your youth leader's view. Respect him and ask him politely to respect you. If he doesn't, maybe he's not the kind of spiritual rolemodel you want to be around.
  9. Yeah, that is frustrating. Didn't know there wasn't anything in place to arbitrate disagreements. Sucks I have to hope this clown mans up and does the right thing.
  10. This was "Max Power's" reply when I told him he got busted.
  11. forum post I saw that KGB fight wear was going out of business, and offered $1500 (by way of a sponsorship to one of his fighters) for three designs. One of the designs turns out to be stolen from another designer (Firebird). I emailed & PM'ed Max Power telling him I want a refund on the whole thing. Wanted to put this on the moderators' radar so that if this kid gives me any problems on the refund, I can take get you guys involved.
  12. Well, sorry about that, man. I'm going to pull it off the shop, and KGB's going to refund me one way or the other. Not exactly how I wanted to get this shop started.
  13. I've been thinking about a couple company ideas that might add to the game. 1. Distributors/Mail Orders If clothing and supplements were set to only be available in their region (either city, or continent), then we could have distributors. Say with my company, I'm set up in Vegas, so now I can only sell to fighters in North America. A Brazilian distributor buys my shirts & shorts wholesale to Brazilian fighters. 2. Magazines This is a little more involved, and I don't see too many people starting or maintaining a magazine. But even if there are only 2 per region, that's actually fairly realistic. An editor starts a magazine, and every two weeks or whatever releases two or three articles. Any fighters, managers or companies mentioned in the article receive a hype boost based on the circulation of the magazine. Fighters subscribe to the magazine and receive a morale boost every two weeks when the magazine is delivered. The editor could also hire people to write show reviews, which is something people are already doing.
