WPR: Fight Night 2

http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1365779933fight%20night.jpg

Welcome, WPR fans to another preview, the second WPR Fight Night, with hopefully many more to come. Let's hope this Fight Night turns out to be even better than the first. While I am looking forward to this event, the poster for this event really has me distracted, is it wrong of me to be more interested in the poster than most of the fights themselves? Anyways enough about that. Ok fight fans, last event we had 2 champions crowned, including the ever dangerous Randell White pulling off the submission with just 26 seconds left in a five round war. Proving you just never know how a fight is going to end. In our main event we have Raider Vancan versus Amauro Nogueira which promises to be an exciting fight, and this fight is to determine who is the leader of the Heavyweight Division. In our co main event we have Tomas Nxon versus Lungdumtu Amah, I suspect this fight to be a grappling war, where the rising star Nxon would be well on his way to a title shot if he can beat the veteran Amah. We have many other exciting fights as well on this card.

Xhorez Psylo versus Experiment Numero

Psylo in his first fight in WPR, though he is a veteran QFC fighter, after losing his first fight, came back with four straight wins, and Numero in his second career fight who started his career right here in WPR with an impressive win over Carl Sykes. Numero has the wrestling advantage but Psylo has a massive advantage on the ground. Meaning while Numero could take it to the ground he might be making a big mistake in doing so. I think Numero wins it if he keeps it standing, but if he takes Psylo down, then that could be a big mistake and be a short night for him.

Prediction: Psylo via submission

Paul Paulson versus Jon Fitch

Here we have a fight, where both guys are 1 and 1, both looking to improve their records and start climbing the ladder in the welterweight division. Once again we have two wrestlers facing off against each other. It is hard to predict how this one will go as both have little stand up, little ground game, but impressive wrestling. Fitch seems to have the better stand up, he might have decided to start working on his stand up after his loss by TKO, so if he uses his wrestling in reverse to keep this one on the feet then he should take this one.

Prediction: Fitch via decision

Mauricio Melendez versus Frank Jones

Melendez has good boxing and good ground game, while Jones has good Muay Thai and a good ground game. Jones loves the head kick, while it was not a successful strategy in his last fight, this time it could very well get him the victory. If this fight goes to the ground either of them could pull out the victory.

Prediction: Jones via KO

Silva Bones versus Jackie Rouisey

his will be Bones first fight in the WPR, and it's going to be a tough one. Also it is Rouisey's first professional fight ever. Jones is a muay thai specialist with some ground game in case he gets taken down. Rouisey, keeps reminding me of Ronda Rousey, maybe it's the male version of her? Has good boxing and muay thai, with some ground game as well. I think Rouisey will be too much for Bones to handle on the feet.

Prediction: Rouisey via KO

Carl Sykes versus Felipe Alves

Sykes is well versed in his muay thai and while seemingly having some ground game did seem to not have a clue what he was doing in his last fight against Numero. Alves is also well versed in muay thai, and has some ground game just in case. I expect this to be a stand up war, with one guy getting ktfo.

Prediction: Skyes via KO

Ajax Ajax versus Jim Gold

Another figher looking for his first fight in WPR, Ajax is predominately a boxer, but also has some wrestling and ground skills. Gold is equally skilled in boxing and wrestling, having an advantage over Ajax in the wrestling department but he may want to use that to stay on his feet in this fight as he also has the better stand up skills. If it goes to the ground, it will be a short night for Gold though. Both guys having a rough start to their careers and looking to turn things around. Both seem to not have been using their skills properly let's hope these guy get things turned around and show us what they can really do.

Prediction: Ajax via submission

Djim Miller versus Samba De Oliveira

Miller clearly has the better stand up skills, and De Oliveira is very well rounded and has the better ground game. Another fight where any fighter could clearly win. I think Miller's stand up might be a little too much though, but it is his first career fight and one wonders how he will handle the pressure.

Prediction: Miller via KO

Tomas Nxon vs Lungdumtu Amah

In the Co-Main event we have Tomas Nxon versus Lungdumtu Amah. Tomas Nxon with the hairest face I have ever seen on a man, one wonders would it be legal to grab the hair on his face and haul on it? One would think it might be a good tactic to use by amah if he gets caught in a submission. Tomas Nxon who has taken the 155lb division by storm and already looking past Amah and calling out both Reaper and Ramirez. Lungdumtu Amah is clearly the veteran in this fight, and one wonders how much will his experience help him in this fight. Nxon has already stated his intentions in this fight to take down Amah and submit him, and I think he might just do that.

Prediction: Nxon via submission

Raider Vancan vs Amauro Nogueira

In Main event of the night we have, Raider Vancan versus Amauro Nogueira. Raider Vancan, in his 7th fight of his career, and Amauro Nogueira in his 4th fight of his career. Clearly two very experienced guys. Raider Vancan is a ground guy, who holds a massive wrestling advantage and should have no trouble taking the fight to the ground, but once it gets there, it's hard to say who's going to win this one, Vancan's ground and pound or Nogueira's submissions, it could clearly go either way. I give Vancan a slight edge here.

Prediction: Vancan via TKO ground and pound

Enough with this hairy face bullshit.

Yes i'm half sasquatch, yes it gets in my eyes when sparring, yes I use about half a dozen hair elastic it hold it back when I fight and NO it's 100% NOT legal to grab as I'm choking you out.

This isn't UFC 1, This isn't a streetfight, there are rules.

Jimmy: Hello again WPR fans! Welcome to the WPR show episode 2. As you should know my name is Jimmy Harris your host. Today we have 3 more fighters joining us in the studio. Big Fatso is here to talk to us about his upcoming fight with Powers; a fight that has some bad blood involved, both of them have exchanged words and seems confident in their abilities to KO each other. Next, we have Piotr Bukowski, one of the thirty youngsters to compete in the World Dominance tournament starting in 3 days. He will be alongside his 4 Polish team mates in their fights against Team UK. Lastly, Thiago Belfort is here with us; the man with the quickest knockout in WPR. He took only 10 seconds to KO De Silva and talks about his next fight against Bollanos. God damn! Things are really starting to kick off in WPR with the WD tournament coming up, more titles to be won and TUF USA vs Brazil’s 3rd event is just around the corner. Anyway, I will now hand you over to my apprentice Jack LaFleur.

Jack: Apprentice? We are of equal importance on this show! I am the one that interviews the fighters; everyone likes me more than your Irish ass!

Jimmy: Simmer down LaFleur I make this show! I have 500,000+ followers on twitter, how many you got!?

Jack: That’s irrelevant! The only reason you have more than me is cos you’re…..

Jimmy: What am I LaFleur? Tell me…

Jack: A fag! Anyway, again you are ruining the show! I’m gonna interview our guests now!

Jimmy: Ye you go do that my young apprentice...

----Fat so Interview----

Jack: Our first guest on the Show is Big Fatso! Wow.. you are big! Anyway, welcome to the WPR show. Now, there seems to be a lot of tension between Kenny Powers and yourself in the lead up to your fight in a couple of weeks, what ar your thoughts on the guy as a fighter and as a person?

Fatso: Well I am a fan of KP and yet I don't like the guy, how is that you ask? Well I am a fan of the way the guy fights, he is going to knock you out or get knocked out trying to, and that makes exciting fights, it's what the fans love to see. But I don't like the guy because he is a little too cocky, and as impressive as his wins were, the guys he fought where not exactly top of the line guys either. And calling out the division right away, well I just had to step up to the plate and show the guy he ain't the best yet. Maybe someday but he has a long ways to go atm.

Jack: Powers does have a couple good looking finishes and decent stand up, but you have a 1st round knockout punch yourself! Do you think you will be able to strike at distance with Powers or will you be looking to clinch up with him with your MT skill advantage?

Fatso: I believe I can strike at distance with Powers or do well clinching with Powers. I think clinching with him would be the smart move, and if he takes it there then that might not go well for him, but I want to give the guy a taste of his own medicine so I plan to stand and strike with him to test that chin of his.

Jack: Well I think it is safe to say this will be a stand up war, I am sure he will look to test your chin as well because he will be confident after 2 KO victories. Has potential for a fight of the night award in my opinion! Anwyay, your thoughts on the heavyweight division as a whole? If you win this you will be noticed as one of the top guys in the division... who do you see as the biggest threat in the division right now?

Fatso: Ahh there are a few guys in the division that are quite good so it's hard to pick just one guy as the biggest threat. Powers is one of those guys and taking him out will be a good step in the right direction.

Jack: Powers has promised me that he would knock you out but he did say that he thinks it will take him longer than a round in all fairness. Even though he has said this do you fear that he will go for the takedown; he has not gone for a takedown so far in his fights but has it crossed your mind? And how has your training camp being going so far in the lead up to this exciting fight?

Fatso: Powers has promised to knock me out, all I can say to that is don't make promises you probably won't be able to keep. Ahh as for him not going for a takedown so far in his career, I believe you are mistaken. I have watched Powers closely and he did go for a takedown versus his first opponent. And if he wasn't able to take down Ferreira then he has no chance to take me down so no I do not fear it, and if he did take me down what would he do? try to get back to his feet lol. It has crossed my mind though, as I always think of all aspects of where a fight could go but in this fight I do not fear the takedown. As for my training camp, it has been going great, I feel I am in the best shape of my life.

Jack: My mistake I forgot about his failed takedown attempt; surprising that he even went for a takedown against Ferreira... Well, you seem very confident about this fight and I wish you the best of luck when the time comes; not long now! We have to move on to our next guest now. It has been a pleasure talking to you Big Fatso; just before you go have you got anything to say to the fans, Powers or WPR?

Fatso: I want to say that it was a pleasure being interviewed, and I hope my fans enjoy this interview, especially the ladies, I am a ladies man after all. I know that Powers and I are going to put on a great fight and no matter who wins, the fans will be the real winners. I want to thank the guys over at Pros ya knows, for all the help, I believe it is through the great training I have received that I will be victorious once again.

-----Bukowski Interview----

Jack: Next up on the show we have "Alpha" Piotr Bukowski. For those of you who do not know Piotr is one of the thrirty contenders in the World Dominance tournament and he will by fighting for Poland. First off, Piotr, how confident are you about Team Poland winning the tournament? And do you fancy your chances as an invidual to win this whole thing?

Piotr: First I want to thank you for having the interview with me. It's good to be here and it's a pleasure to fight in this tournament. I think that everyone have equal chances to win it. But if i would have to say which Team have the most experienced managers I would say - Team Finland. First event will tell us who's the top dog and who's natural born fighter and which Team have fighters with the biggest potential. I guess we got easier opponent than Canada. In Team Finland there is a lot of experienced managers who know how to manage a fighter's career and growth.

I am standing in front of great opportunity, man! But I am really superstitious so I don't want to jinx.

Jack: Interesting that you say team Finland will be a big threat; Finland have high expectations form the fans and even other contenders. Anyway, I agree that WPR: WD 1 (SAT and SUN) will be a very exciting couple of events and is a great opportunity for all the contenders to show the rest what they have to offer! You are fighting Chris Funkyama from team UK, how do you think this fight will end? And do you think Poland will beat team UK in this event?

Piotr: To be honest I really wanted to fight against Chris. He is a BJJ brown belt. But luckily his wrestling isn't at a top level. I am a wrestler. I used to wrestle in Poland which gives me advantage in defending his takedown attempts. I am also a good boxer. Guys in Apex Evolution Dean in Tokyo are helping me with stand-up. And I really want to KO Chris. I will show him no mercy! My game plan for the fight is easy. Avoid ground and knock him out.

Well... Your last question is rhetorical? *smiles* We will crush Team UK! They will have Boston Tea Party in Rio!

Jack: Well I am glad to hear you got the match up you wanted, I believe he is happy with this match up too! Well only 3 more day to see who comes out the victor between Poland and UK! Anyway, I hope you don’t mind me mentioning that you have a previous loss via TKO in QFC; has this affected your confidence slightly or has it made you a better fighter?

Piotr: Piotr: I am still angry on the referee! Why did he stopped the fight? I took only 17's big shots. I was fine! But that was my first MMA fight. I am new fighter, I had reborn! Check the statistics of the fight and the fight and it taken place 2 days after my arrival to Tokyo. I hadn't opportunity to train something different than cardio.

Affect on my confidence? Man! I am Alpha! Also I wonder about one thing. The event starts on 18. And Tea time is on 17, so whole Team UK will gather to have 5' o'clock tea before the fights?

Also I don't like that we got less time between fights. I had everything planed for 4 weeks not for 3! I really don't like that. I signed different contract! I really want to change a few words in private with that guy who shortened that time.

And that's interview. You can ask about anything. Feel free to do that!

Jack: 17 big shots seems like quite a lot to take, no? Anyway, what gave you the name Alpha? Also, the events take place on the 20th and 21st! make sure you get that right! Regarding the 3 weeks between fights; that has always been the plan for the tournament but Rory Daly, the org owner did apologize for booking the first event 3-4 days before it was supposed to be booked. He told me that he might ask the contenders if they would rather make the events 4 weeks apart rather than 3 weeks apart so that there is more training time. Why is it that you feel you need more time when everyone else is in the same boat with short training time?

Piotr: I am tough! Most of fighters would tap out in such situation, but not me! I am always fighting till the end.

Why Alpha? Why not? *smiles* I guess it's because of my confidence! Or because I am always first, like the letter in Greek alphabet or it's because womans love me!

I am not sure if you had every fought in MMA. After every fight you need to recover. Also you need to come back to your base from an event's location. You need to have time to recover and to prepare for next challenge. Also as I said, I am wrestler. I need time to learn about striking and to adapt to different style of fighting. I am not sure if you know that but in wrestling we're not punching nor kicking.

Jack: I see. Well there will be discussions about this in the World Dominance community. Anyway, thank you for your time Piotr and good luck with your fight against Funkyama; may the best team win. Anything you want to say to the fans or your opponent before leaving us?

Piotr: I really enjoyed the interview. Thanks for the good words. A few words to the fans: Buy tickets to see me fighting in the cage on live! Chris I expect tough battle! Let the better fighter win our fight! But we know Alpha is better one in this matchup!

----Belfort Interview----

Jack: Our final guest for tonight is Thiago "Bigfoot" Belfort. Great to see you Thaigo! Congratulations in your 10 second Knockout against Thiago De Silva last week. That was one hell of a punch earning you knockout of the night and correct me if I am wrong; the quickest KO in WPR history I believe! Will we be seeing plenty more where that came from in the future? And what are your thoughts on your upcoming fight against Bollanos? He looks like the real deal as well!

Belfort: (Translator) Thiago would like to say that he trains very hard, he is from the favelas and when he fights he fights for his whole family, and that makes him a very powerful man. He is very honoured to have that record, but he would like to also point out he is a very well rounded mixed martial artist and not just a brawler, so expect to see some of his Muay Thai skills in the future as well as jiu-jitsu since he has just started training with one of the higher level black-belts in the world. His focus is to someday be a champion and carve out a legacy for himself one win at a time.

Also 'Bigfoot' would just like to add that he is very grateful to WPR for the opportunity to fight and support his family and to his sponsor //buriedALIVE// clothing co (http://www.mmatycoon.com/clothingpublic.php?cid=3653).

Jack: Sounds like you have had quite a tough life big foot but finally you have made a name for yourself and can afford to fulfil a good life for your family. Your last fight showed everyone that you are a great striker and now you claim that your BJJ is improving too; we look forward to seeing the training pay off! If you get past Bollanos you will certainly be up there at the top end of the table. Have you got anyone in your sights after the Bollanos fight?

Belfort: (translator) Thiago is not scared of any man or any thing, he will fight whoever WPR tells him to and he will find a way to win, he has the heart of a champion and hes ready to prove that to the world.

Jack: There seems to be a lot of effective strikers in the WPR heavyweight division, yourself being one of them, what makes your striking stand out from the others? Do you like to punch, kick, knee or elbow or god forbid all of them!?

Belfort: (Translator) Thiago loves to hurt people, whether it is with his fists, his feet, or his knees. What makes him stand out is his heart, he comes for war, he does not come to make a pay check like most fighters. He comes in to destroy his opponent, he may not be as technical as some of the more elite guys, but he makes up for that with pure heart and warrior spirit.

Jack: I will be sure to tell Mr Daly that Bigfoot is not here for the money; he will be happy to hear it hahaha! Ummm, sorry I am joking big guy. Anywaaaay, I like Bigfoots attitude; a true warrior ready for blood! The fans cannot wait to see you back in the cage; try give us more time to see your skills though! Anyway, wow look at the time! I am afraid that is all we can fit in tonight, thanks.

----In Other WPR News----

Jimmy: Thank you LaFleur, I taught you well!

Jack: Prick!

Jimmy: Anyway, in other news coming straight out of WPR there are 2 new champions! Randall White is the first ever 185lbs champ to grace WPR. He defeated Richard Jay Franklin in what was the fight of the night and White also received the Submission of the night bonus. This fight reminded me a little of Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva’s fight. Diego Minotauro is the new 205lbs champion, getting the better of Mari Juana in a dominant 5 round fight. Both divisions have some promising talent so neither of the guys will have easy title defences, but that’s what is to be expected when you are champion!

Also, tonight there is another exciting event taking place in the Underground. The main event is between Raider Vancan and Amauro Noguiera. Vancan is 6-1 and Noguiera is 4-0, both fighters are highly hyped and we expect a great fight between them to see who could can maintain their form and get closer to the no.1 contender spot. The preview is on the forum and was done by Scottie Power this week. Check it out!

WPR has also opened a bookies; WPR Casino, which has odds for every fight on every WPR card and UFC events. Feel free to bet some money and most likely win, judging by the current loss the casino is making!

There is so much more going on but that’s all we have time for! Stay classy RIO!!!

Jack: And thanks for –

Jimmy: Shut up LaFleur!

Kenny 'Fuckin' Powers:

So, I just watched the interview back with Big Fatso, my next opponent and yes the interviewer, Jack, is correct I did promise to knock him the fuck out and I will knock him out! I'm fuckin KP bitch! Noone knocks my handsome ass out! Anyway, my manager, Rory Daly, and his manager, Scottie Power have made a bet it appears; but not the usual kind of bet. Whoever wins gets to chose the losers next opponent, both of us happily agreed to this. I look forward to giving Fatso a two straight losing streak! After that you bet your ass I'm gettin that title shot! KP out!

WPR 6: Battle For The Belt

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1365970085waldemar_von_kozak_52.jpg

Well, well, well, we are in for a treat this weekend in WPR! A lot going on I tell you! Not only do we have the light weight belt up for grabs tonight but the beginning of the World dominance tournament starts tonight and tomorrow night! Good luck to everyone fighting this weekend; fight well! I am also proud to announce that WPR’s hype is growing quicker than Jacks’ beanstalk; we are only one rank behind our main rival RFC globally and hope to overtake after this weekend. WPR is beginning to be get more and more well known as time goes on and more managers are requesting their fighters here, which is fantastic news. Anyway, I am here to give you all the break down for WPR 6; I am expecting org breaking records in this event!

Vadim Nazarov vs Tyler Durden:

Nazarov is one to keep your eye on; he has just left the infamous No exit org in Rio to join us here at WPR. He is a talented all-round fighter but

concentrates on his boxing and wrestling to get the win. He hopes to earn a victory for his alliance Baltimore Domino Club, but in his way is Tyler Durden. Durden has good Boxing and BJJ skills so can cover both areas of the fight. He is 1-1 in WPR and hopes to improve that tonight. It must be said this aint gonna be easy for Durden and the fans seem in favour of Nazarov winning this judging by the bets in WPR Casino.

Prediciton: Nazarov via TKO.

Zakir Hussain vs Jacques Don Pierre

Hussain, well known in Indian MMA faces Don Pierre tonight. Hussain fights for Team Outkast and Don Pierre for Tycoon alliance. Hussain has a submission victory in QFC but I think it is highly unlikely he will have the same fortune in this bout as Don Pierre has a brown belt and good wrestling to eliminate any chance of a submission from Hussain. Hussain will have to keep this on his feet but I think that is very unlikely for the Indian.

Prediction: Don Pierre via submission.

Gustavo Machado vs Jon Jones

Machado is 1-0 and an effective MT fighter with some ground skills as well. Jones seems to be miserable right now, rumour has it his morale is very low after losing last time in WPR. Jones has the BJJ advantage so if this goes to ground he has a chance, as long as he doesn’t breakdown into tears, that is! Quite an even fight here and its anyone’s to be won.

Prediction: Machado via TKO.

Roberto Gomez Bollanos vs Thiago Belfort

Bollanos has a very experienced manager to help him with the lead up to this fight and he was the man to KO Jon Jones in his debut fight. Bollanos has fantastic boxing and dangerous wrestling so he looks for the KO every time, he represents the Goonies in this fight; an alliance that is based here in Rio. Belfort has really shown us what he is all about! He also has an experienced manager and represents The Legion of Pain. Belfort fought only 10 days ago and knocked the hell out of De Silva in 10 seconds! He is very confident in his striking and claims he has been doing work on his ground game. This is a tough one to call and a likely candidate for fight of the night. Two mean guys will face off tonight ladies and gentlemen. Question is who is getting knocked out!?

Prediction: Ummmm… I dunno!

Ben Richars vs Tamao Serizawa

Richards appears to be a skilled fighter and is coming off a victory in WPR. He has fantastic wrestling, decent boxing and a blue belt so he is pretty well covered. He faces Serizawa; a man with an impressive record of 7-2 and an exceptional ground game. This one depends on who can pull off their game plan! A very tough one to call but I am gonna back Richards in this one.

Richards via TKO.

Mr Anderson vs Jerome Te Hua

Mr Anderson fighting for The Wolf Pack alliance, is coming off an impressive win; one that lasted less than a minute and ended in Bannon tapping out to his powerful strikes. Anderson uses his amazing MT to earn victory and also has some decent wrestling and boxing skills. On the other side of the cage stands a Te Hua, who has a very decent ground game, most noticeable his brown belt. He is 3-0, winning by submission each time. Stand up vs Ground fighter here; Te Hua will need to show good striking defence and Anderson has to show good Takedown defence.

Prediction: Mr Anderson via TKO.

Rogerio Cabral vs Jeronimo Ferra de Almada

Cabral is from the same camp as Nazarov and looks to be another big name in WPR. He is well rounded but relies more on his ground game in fights. He has a brown belt and a nice looking record of 5-1-1, 4 of which were submission victories. De Almada also has a brown belt and it looks like that is what he will rely on to walk away the victor, even though Cabral has one too. De Almada is from the STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and hope to add a W for the alliance and himself. He has 2 victories in WPR via submission but this will be his biggest challenge so far. This fight is important for both of them and will put them in the lime light of the 17olbs division if they win.

Prediction: Cabral via decision.

Cevada Bacon vs Malaik Hamadani

Bacon has a perfect record of 5-0 and will be yet again out for victory. He fights for Team Brazilian alliance and has proven to have a solid ground game. However, hold your horses because Bacon is against a fighter like none other that he has faced before! That man is Hamadani; another fighter out of the STEEL PENN ALLIANCE. Hamadani has the advantage in all aspects of the game it appears but will that be the case when these two face off. Hamadani is a very talented fighter and is a hot prospect for the future of WPR. Bacon is as well but he looks to be outgunned in this match up. Having said that everyone loves an underdog story so lets see if he can deliver!

Prediction: Hamadani via KO.

TITLE FIGHT (155lbs) Grim Reaper vs Rob Ramirez

Reaper’s shot at the title has been questioned by a few people because he has not yet fought in WPR. However, Grim will be the first to tell those people to shut the hell up because he has a very impressive record (6-1). He represents the Cold Blooded Killers and appears to be very confident in the lead up to the fight with his MT and wrestling skills. Rob Ramirez, is 2-0 in WPR and is usually not one to be overlooked but I must say his preparation for such an important fight is less than admirable. It has been reported that he is in bad shape for the fight and lacks the skills of Reaper. I would bet my left nut on Reaper to win this fight. Ramirez will certainly have to explain himself and find himself near the bottom of the ladder presuming he loses this fight. Org Owner, Rory Daly is not looking for fighters who are not committed enough to their training and will need Ramirez to prove himself after this fight.

Prediction: Reaper via KO for the 155lbs title!

Main Event: Christian Kane vs Owen Rose

Fans question why this is the main event instead of the title fight. Well, these guys were told that this would be the title fight but were falsely informed, I deeply apologise for that. Besides they have both had very impressive careers. Kane, out of the same camp as Reaper, is 5-0 with 4 KO’s and he makes his debut in WPR. Owen Rose is a well respected fighter within WPR and fights for Team Outkast. He is a well-rounded fighter but his most noticeable skills are his boxing and wrestling. This should be a close fight as both are quite evenly matched! I cannot wait to see this one. The winner gets a shot at the title, which is currently around Randall White’s waist.

Prediction: Kane via decision.

That’s all from me, enjoy the fights nd place your bets at WPR Casino and remember to shop at Damnfield Clothing. Thank you!

Rory.

WORLD DOMINANCE TOURNAMENT 2013 RD 1 Preview!!

Tonight, from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, 20 fighters from 4 different countries will step into the cage & go to war! These fighters have been preparing for weeks & are itching to get it on! And trust me; there is some serious bad blood here, folks! The talk is over; let’s see what these men can do! It’s time to begin our breakdown of this legendary event! Let’s begin shall we?

Bob “Old Glory” Parker (0-0) vKevin Stevens(0-0)

In our first matchup, Bob Parker representing the USA & managed by Tj Heisman takes on Kevin Stevens representing Australia & managed by Neil Rooke! This is a very solid matchup in my opinion. Bob is a wrestler with a bit of striking Kevin is a well-rounded fighter who mixes in his striking with the unpredictable takedowns. We don’t know much about these two guys but judging by the buzz they have generate from the fans, we may be in for something special!

Prediction: We don’t know what type of wrestler Bob Parker is. If he is defensive, look for Kevin to pick him apart with strikes en route a TKO victory. If Bob is the wrestler we all think he is, expect him to take the fight to the ground immediately & dominate to a decision or TKO victory via GnP. All I know is that I can’t wait to see how it goes down!

Jimmy “The Patriot” Smith(0-0) v Jimmy Carruthers(0-0)

Next up, we present the “Battle of the Jimmies” as USA Representative, Jimmy Smith (created by Tj Heisman) takes on the Australian, Jimmy Carruthers (coached by Cus Damato)! Jimmy Smith may have trained with teammate Bob Parker for this one to prepare for his opponent. He brings with him the infamous sprawl n brawl style that has given many problems over the years. In his opponent, Carruthers, he faces a man with a similar style but a much higher level standup game. On paper, we expect a standup fight but you never know what will go down once they step into the cage.

Prediction: I predict it’s going to be a back & forth war! Carruthers has the more technical striking while Smith has the power. This matchup comes down to strength vs. technique. Don’t blink folks!

I’m really looking forward to this matchup! Born in Mexico & representing the United States is Errol Jitani. He takes on always awkward & somewhat punch-drunk, Trent Punchy from Australia! This is a very controversial matchup that was almost cancelled because many people questioned whether a man of Trents mental state should be allowed to fight. Look, if you know who he is you know the man can throw down with the best of them. Trent may play dumb, but he packs a wallop! Errol is a Mexican born fighter who has come from hard times to be where he is. He brings with him a solid standup game coupled with a strong defensive wrestling style. Look for Punchy to come forward & try to take Errol’s head off while Jitani uses slick movement to dodge and evade the herky-jerky caveman style Trent typically brings. Errol was quoted as saying “I will damage his brain even more than it is. He will need tube in the stomach to eat.”

Prediction: Errol by brutal KO :05 into the fight!

Wrestling vs. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is the feature of this fight. Grappling fans will enjoy this one. Michael Jones represents Australia while Renex Garcia represents the US. Michael Jones, managed by Sean Mitchell is a strong, aggressive wrestler who possesses brutal GnP & tight positioning. His gameplan is simple: take the fight to the ground & beat Garcia up! For Renex Garcia, going to the ground is what he hopes for. Renex has an excellent jiu-jitsu game. He is great at sweeps and submissions & says when the fight goes to the ground, Michael is going to have very hard time controlling him. He says Michael has no other weapons & will feel useless on the ground. Folks, look out for this guy, Garcia. He’ll be a beast in this competition.

Prediction: Renex by submission

“The SW Philly Floater”

Tyrone Garland (0-0)v “The Sex Panther” Brian Fantana(0-0)

Many have dubbed this, “Battle of the epic nicknames”! Tyrone Garland of the US takes on Brian Fantana from Australia! These men are very evenly matched on the feet & on the ground. They will be looking to employ similar strategies but it is Fantana who has the edge in submissions. Tyrone has been working diligently on his submission defense & plans on putting a beating on his opponent once the fight hits the ground. If Tyrone ends up on the bottom, he will be in trouble.

Prediction: Brian Fantana by TKO GnP & best nickname

Also in the tournament we feature what’s quickly becoming a dual between feuding countries! Danny Hastings, the mouth of the UK, takes on Bogdan Petrycki, representing Poland! Folks, Danny Hastings have been talking tons of trash to the polish fighters & they are not happy with him. It’s a good thing this fight isn’t taking place in their home country of I’d be worried for his safety. Danny brings with him a serious boxing game, one of the very few in this competition. Danny talks hard & he hits hard. He’s very quick on the gun & can end the fight with the slip of a punch. Bogdan’s striking derives from a Muay Thai style so he will be looking to keep Danny at bay with kicks & use movement to offset Danny’s power. Bogdan has said he plans on being the one to shut Danny up for team Poland. Danny on the other hand has chosen to focus much of his attention on fellow tournament competitor Piotr Bukowski. Let’s hope he isn’t looking passed his primary opponent…

Prediction: Danny by TKO followed by a series of call-outs to team Poland

Warren Saddler of the UK & Adam Miauczynski of Poland are next up & this should be a nice showcase for the fans! Warren is a man who can do it all but isn’t great at anything. This man just likes to scrap! Adam is a Muay Thai fighter who will be looking for the knockout every minute of the fight! This is a fight to pay attention to. Warren believes he has the tools to win this fight anywhere it goes. He made a direct statement to Adam’s camp saying Adam isn’t a true Mixed Martial Artist & should go back to fighting Muay Thai & playing footsies with other men. Warren is a cocky one don’t you think?

Prediction: If this fight stays on the feet, I see Adam winning by KO. If Waren decides to take Adam in deep waters, It could lean more toward the UK fighter. We’ll find out in a few hours…

“Epic Beard”

Chris Funkyama (0-0)v “Alpha” Piotr Bukowski(0-0)

This matchup has inexplicably drawn a lot of attention mainly because of UK fighter Danny Hastings. Bukowski & Hasting have exchanged words leading up to this event while Chris Funkyama has remained relatively quiet throughout. That may be because not only does he have pressure to win, Danny has placed $20k on Chris his teammate as a bet to win. Talk about pressure! Piotr’s manager Bragi Ragnarson has been very vocal himself taunting team UK & calling them inferior fighters. Both sides have fire back & forth toward one another which is what makes this rivalry exciting. Its worth noting Piotr did suffer a loss earlier in his career. Let’s see if that plays in his mind as he gets set to take on Chris Funkyama. I expect more trash talk in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Prediction: Chris Funkyama will find the submission & make it 0-2 for the Polish fighter

Another grappler vs. grappler matchup. Boy, I feel bad for the 2-3 strikers in this competition. Anyhow, when David Brent & Patrycy Szczerbiec meet in the cage all hell will break loose! Patrycy has a wonderful wrestling game that he will be looking to employ against David. To some Patrycy may have the advantage. To the UK hopefuls, David will have to pull off the quick submission to win it. I see Patrycy controlling the fight with his wrestling while David struggles to get his rhythm down. David will put up a valiant effort but will be overwhelmed.

Prediction: Patrycy Szczerbiec by decision

In our final matchup to close Saturday night, we feature a striker vs. grappler matchup between a vegetable & a “killer bunny”! This matchup will come down to the wrestling. If Might Mushroom can keep it standing, he takes this easily. If Christian Evansen takes this to the ground for even a second, he will have no problem taking out his opponent.

Prediction: Evanson will find a way to get this fight to the ground. Once he gets it there, he will put the lights out on Mighty Mushroom. Let’s just be glad he’s not a mighty carrot or it would be much worse!

Folks, the World Dominance Tournament is mere hours away. The fighters are super anxious to get out there and show their stuff. Viewers from all over the world will be watching & I predict record-breaking numbers! Don’t forget, tickets are on sale for this event but they are going fast! This is an event of epic proportions. 30 managers! 30 fighters! 6 countries, vying to earn the title of World Dominance Champion! I…CANT…WAIT!!

WPR: WORLD DOMINANCE TOURNAMENT RD 1 (SUN)

PREVIEW!!

http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1366326215satanholdingworld.jpg

Welcome, Wolf Palace fight fans once again to our World Dominance Tournament 2013 preview! Last night we witnessed an incredible night of fights as 4 teams went to battle! Team USA & Team Poland dominated controlled the night & showed their Dominance! Well tonight, we complete the 1st round with the remaining 2 teams: Team Canada vs. Team Finland! Also we feature our Main Event of the evening, Heavyweights, James Braddock & Johnie Cashh go to war! Which team will prevail & move one step closer to glory? We will find out soon enough!

In our Main event of the evening, we feature 2 heavyweights with heavy hands. Both James & Johnie are power punchers with wonderful boxing; A very close matchup on paper! Braddock has won 3 of his last 4 by KO with his last fight being a loss to Korean fighter, Jin Woo Kim! Braddock was controlling the fight until he made a mistake & allowed Kim to secure a takedown & earn the finish. He has admitted he made a fatal error & that it won’t happen again! His opponent, Johnie Cashh is a straight boxer with a blue belt in BJJ but I promise he’s not taking this fight to the ground. He finished his last fight by brutal stoppage & plans on earning his 3-fight win streak award tonight. Folks, we will have a nice scrap on our hands so look out!

Prediction: This is a very even fight between two talented strikers. In my opinion James takes this one by stoppage. He has more tools, has a more varied striking attack and has the name of a Man’s man! James Braddock!

In our co-main event, child murderer, Freddy Krugerman takes on Ryle Joaquin! Freddy made his Wolf Palace debut against Carlos Tevez & finished him in just under 2 minutes of the opening bell! He brings with him a wonderful Muay Thai striking style backed with solid boxing skills. He’s looking to make quick work of Ryle & make a statement for himself in the lightweight division! Ryle is a BJJ brown belt who lost his debut in WPR but bounced back with a quick submission victory over Rodrigo Baptista! This is the age-old striker vs. grappler matchup we all love. In my opinion, Freddy will have the advantage with his defensive wrestling skills. Ryle should look to pull guard if he expects to win this one.

Prediction: Look for Freddy to make this a bloody match. Freddy will invade Ryles’ dreams the night before & deprive him of sleep. From there he will proceed to put on a clinic & win by TKO.

When Seu Gil & Jaret Caston meet tonight, we will witness a potential fight of the night! Jaret possesses wonderful wrestling which he will no doubt need against Seu Gil a capable striker with a solid ground game. Jaret I predict will be defensing submissions all night if he takes it to the ground. Really he has no other options. Seu Gil simply has more ways to win this.

Prediction: Seu Gil has more ways to win. I believe he’ll score another TKO victory.

In our next bout, the “Serial Killer” takes on “The Unstoppable”! Contrary to what his nickname implies, Miguel Augusto has been stopped 3 times in his only 3 fights…Matheus is 2-1 losing his last fight to Owen Rose. Matheus is a strong wrestler so he will definitely lean toward that gameplan when he meets Miguel.

Prediction: I predict Matheus wins by TKO or submission. I suggest Miguel change his nickname because it’s just not working for him. Just a suggestion.

This fight will look similar to the above in that we have another 2-1 fighter in Jon Fitch going against a man with a losing record. Fitch is a boxer/wrestler while Felipe is a Muay Thai/BJJ fighter. Fitch would be wise to take this one to the mat because a loss to Alves would look bad.

Prediction: Fitch will dominate the fight with his wrestling & get the TKO stoppage!

Chris Otrowski & Mark hill are botch from Canada but it is Chris who will be representing Finland for their fight tonight. Chris brings with him a very well rounded style. Good at everything master of none is Chris. We’ll see what he can do & if he can start Finland off on the right foot. Mark represents Canada & possesses wonderful wrestling which he will definitely need against the superior striker. Hill should look for the takedown right away & frustrate Chris with ground strikes. Chris is wary of this & will be ready with his submission game. In this day in age, you must be ready for everything. Both fighters have huge support behind them but Mark Hill will secure the victory for his team & country.

Prediction: Mark Hill takes the fight to the ground & pound Chris to a TKO victory!

Peter North & Jari Litmanen have been itching to get each other for a while now. They’ve both been preparing for this matchup I different ways…Jari recently went a few rounds with US fighter Velli Kulho in which he lost a UD. He wanted to test how his skills would match up against a solid striker. Let’s just say he didn’t fare too well. Peter North has been doing the usual: Excercising his third leg. He believes his third leg will be the key to victory & a weakness for Litmanen. This matchup can go either way folks. I’m not putting money down on it! Oh & one thing to point out. Jari is one of our smaller fighters competing so we’ll see how he deals with the size difference

Prediction: Peter North takes this fight to the ground he has the advantage, pounds Jari from the back, sinks his 3rd leg in & finishes brutally forcing Jari to submit! Oh, & Peter will have the size advantage in more ways than 1!

Both these fighters have similar styles. They like to strike & they like to wrestle. On paper Lan Strip has the advantage but Aslak can pull off the upset. Lan will look to use his superior Thai skills to mix up his attacks while Aslak will need to threaten with takedowns to offset Lan’s striking. This fight will come down to who can make better use of the sliders.

Prediction: Lan Strip will fight aggressively & weather the storm of takedowns all the way to the final bell to score the victory via UD.

This is a matchup I know many including me are looking forward to. Markku vs. Django should be electric! Here, you have 2 well rounded individuals who will be in each other’s faces from bell to bell. Markuu is as talented as they come. He’s super tough and durable & will definitely give Django all he can handle. Just from his name alone, you know Django is a badass! He brings will him very solid boxing skills & if the fight hits the ground, he’s ready. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when Django goes unchained! Markku feels no pressure from the 0-0 fighter and says “ I’m going to chain him up like the animal he is & beat him like a runaway slave… “

Prediction: Django uses his superior boxing to score the early finish. This man could do very well in the tournament!

In Velli Kulho, you have a MT/Wrestler who loves to strike. His opponent Brandon is almost similar in skill. You really can’t get any more evenly matched than this. In his first fight, Velli easily outpointed tournament competitor, Jari Litmanen to a UD. He told reporters that he should have been the one invited to compete in the tournament not Jari. He wants to get the recognition he deserves so he plans on putting a beat down on Brandon. Brandon is almost a mirror image of Velli in terms of skill. He has a slight advantage on the feet & says the rest won’t matter. He’s hoping Velli is looking passed him because he plans on ruining those plans & establishing his own name in Wolf Palace Rio.

Prediction: Brandon takes control early & frustrates Velli with jabs. Velli gets overzealous & gets caught with a counter punch right to the dome. Brandon by TKO.

So that’s it folks! The World Dominance Rd 1 takes place tonight! Which group of fighters will move on & establish their name within the tournament? Will it be Finland or will it be Canada? You’ll have to wait and see. Make sure you get your tickets or follow us on twitter @WorldDominance2013 for up to minute fight results! It doesn’t get much better than this!

WPR: TUF3

John McDougal vs. Thiago Leonardo

We open our night with a clash between two very serious wrestlers whose careers have taken two very different paths. John McDougal has displayed some nasty hands and hands and solid clinch work in his two previous fights, scoring knockout of the night honors after damn near beheading Aaron Chumbo with a straight right at TUF1. Thiago Leonardo is mostly known for getting his face broken in 2 straight fights by head kicks. Leonardo needs to refocus on his wrestling and advantage in BJJ if he’s going to stand a chance here. But facing a guy who’s just as good it’s going to be difficult to hit that take down and put his blue belt to use.

Prediction: McDougal by right hand (KO)

Carlos Falcao vs. Chili Parlma

Carlos Falcao is a solid boxer and a BJJ purple belt; he’s been shut down in his last 2 fights being submitted by a brown belt in Joey Reid and relentlessly taken down by Daniel Fighter. He’s only 18 and has a lot of time to grow into a very serious individual, but if he’s looking to rebound his matchmaker (and manager) Rory Daly is doing him no favors because Chili Parlma might already be that serious. An extremely well rounded BJJ brown belt has 2 submissions in 2 fights, he also has better Muay Thai and wrestling and his boxing is nearly as good. If both of these guy show up looking for the tap out we might see some the best grappling of the night, but purple vs. brown and the brown belt should take it 7 out of 10 times, combined with Chili’s ability to do anything and do it well, it’s hard to see Falcao pull this off.

Prediction: Chili by whatever he wants

Cannondale Trail vs. Ryan Beasley

Cannondale Trail is a rare animal in MMA. He is a wrestler who routinely charges into a match with his weakest skill and just destroys people with it. His Muay Thai is average but has absolutely starched his opponents with brutal head kick knock outs before looking out into the distance with his dead eyed Fedor stare. But that might not be the best strategy against Ryan Beasley, probably the purest boxer on the card. He’s had run of tough luck after being stopped in 2 fights both by cut, it’s like he starts bleeding at the sight of a balled up fist. If he can keep himself from leaking like a faucet and Cannondale decides to try and keep his head kick streak alive there’s a good chance Cannondale is going to wind up like a puddle of muscle, bones and probably some of Beasley’s blood on the floor. But if Cannondale uses any sort of strategy other than what he has showed in his last 2 fights it’s his for the taking.

Prediction: Cannondale by GNP (cut)

Daniel Fighter vs. Renato Lita

Daniel fighter is a pure wrestler whose relentless take downs smothered Carlos Falcao in his last fight, but being such a one trick pony is a real trade-off as he was taught in his first fight against BJJ brown belt Peter McDonald who locked in a rear naked choke halfway through round 2 of their fight, something blue belt Renato Lita has to be thinking about in the lead up to this fight. It looks like Lita has had quite a lot on his mind because he is in terrible shape right now. It’s a real shame to see a fighter mismanaged like this. He has the skill set to take Fighter out with his hands or a submission but will he have the cardio come fight night?

Prediction: A long annoying night for Renato Lita (Fighter by UD)

Nick Wall vs. Chris Hines

Nick Wall is a new entry to the tournament who is very well rounded; he has had no fights so his style is a question mark to everyone including his opponent. He trains at Foundations-Rio’s cheapest conditioning gym which is really no help, as I’m sure all of our Rio based fans know, for anything but cardio and strength. Which he is going to need all of to take on his opponent Chris Hines who trains at the well known Meat’s Slaughterhouse Gym, home to a litany of tough bastards such as current WPR lightweight champ Grim Reaper. Hines hold a HUGE wrestling advantage in this fight as well the confidence of a 3 fight win streak under his belt. Expect Hines to grind the young up-start into the canvas and look to finish with vicious ground and pound.

Prediction: Hines by TKO

Peter McDonald Vs Joey Reid

This, IF we are lucky will be the best grappling match on the card, we have 2 very nearly identical fighters. Both guys are BJJ brown belts, both guys are coming off losses and both guys are hungry to take home an arm with them. The biggest difference is Joey broke and gym less and won’t be able to train the way he needs to. Peter on the other hand is training at a private gym with top instruction for this fight and has a moderate advantage in the stand-up department and may look to exploit it but, does he have the take down defense to keep it on the feet and work his boxing en route to a knockout? Probably not, but I honestly don’t care as a fan of the ground game. I’d love to see this hit the floor and see who is still in one piece at the end.

Prediction: McDonald by tap out

Sly Guy vs. Ronan Nogueira

Sly Guy is another newcomer in the tournament but he looks to make a strong statement as a Muay Thai wrecking machine in the same vein current lightweight champ Grim Reaper. He may have some trouble against BJJ brown belt Ronan Nogueira. He needs to get this fight to the ground where his dangerous submission game can be put to good use but has been unable to land the take down in any of his last three fights. He’s getting a little down on himself at this point and NEEDS this fight in order to keep himself alive, but I’m not seeing it for him. We’ve seen it so many times that brown belt+ no wrestling= easy prey for a dangerous striker with decent take down defense.

Prediction: Sly Guy by KO (easy)

Don Diego vs. Abu Zayd

Don Diego is a dangerous Muay Thai fighter with the wrestling to match and he’s going to look to dominate from the clinch just as he did in his previous fight which led to a destruction of Peter McDonald earning him fight of the night honors and a brutal TKO finish. Abu Zayd is also a good wrestler but for a very different reason, he decisioned Joey Reid, a serious brown belt after a prolonged ground war in his last fight. It’s stand-up vs. ground game with equal wrestling so normally I’d call this a coin toss but Zayd isn’t in the best of shape and will be lucky to be 60% for this fight, based solely on this fact Diego takes this EASY.

Prediction: Diego by TKO

Finally in our main event we have

Scottie Power vs. Jeremy Crusher

Scottie Power is a well rounded fighter boasting good wrestling; a blue belt and a downright evil striking game that saw him score a rare spinning back fist KO and fight of the night in his very first fight against ground game specialist Rocky Joaquin in just 33 seconds. This man is poised to start tearing up the 185lbs division but standing in his way is Jeremy Crusher. This man is an unreal wrestler and BJJ purple belt leaving a string of tap out victims dating back to early march. If he can get this fight to the ground and I believe that he can, Scottie is going to be in serious trouble and probably will wind up the victim of any number of sick submissions Crusher has in his varied and brutal arsenal. If this doesn’t end up as FOTN I will be absolutely shocked.

Prediction: Crusher by sub

Cannondale Trail: "Just gonna walk up, hit the dude hard, then harder, maybe kick him too. Then go home. Change tactics? You kiddin me?"

Grim Reaper

Nixon everyone including yourself knows you intend to dry hump your way to victory. Sorry to rain on your parade, you will get KTFO long before I allow that to happen. Your one dimensional MMA game will not be enough to try pry the belt from me. Your only concern should be that the ref pry's me from your lifeless body

"The Fox" Don Diego

"Well it looks like my predictions are coming true. It was really just an inevitability. My next opponent, Carlos Falcao, warned me before this started that I was a "fox in a wolf's palace". It appears now that they'll have to re-name this organization to... Fox Palace."

Grim our fight is going to look like one of those "Messing with Sasquatch" commercials.

Except you are going to run up, kick me in the leg and then I'm going to tear your fucking arm off.

Kenny Powers:

Just over a week till y'all get to witness another KP knockout in under a minute. Don't blink mother fuckers cos each time you do you miss another second of greatness. Big Fatass is gonna hit the mat like a sack o potatoes, well he literally is a sack of potatoes judging by the look of that mess. I expect KO of the night and fight of the night for this massacre. I am Kenny Fuckin Powers and I do not lose; I don't believe in losing. See y'all dick smokers on the 5th!
