Big debut night out at the Liberty Done on Saturday last in New York where nearly 4,500 people packed into the Liberty Dome to the main event of Udanda V Rittle. Here’s a quick review of the fights on the night.

Main event

"Diamond" Jezegel Udanda Luss "The Bus" Rittle

Here’s hoping nobody went to the toilet after the previous fight as they might have missed Udanda’s cracking right hand after 47 seconds of round one to The Bus. Both fighters came out aggressively but Udanada proved the smarter hands when he rocked The Bus with a beautiful uppercut which has the Bus seeing stars and right after Udanda had no mercy and punched The Bus’s ticket to send him home in an ambulance! Good fight but fans might have hoped for more of the same for longer… Will there be a rematch soon??

Co-Main event

Ormazd "The Gold Prince" Tir Jason "Janoy" Genova

Two relative rookies took to the undercard for this bout and in contrast the the main event they went the full distance with Tir winning by unanimous decision in the end 30:27 score by all the judges. TIr kept the pressure on constantly throughout this fight and preferred to stay in clinches as much as possible when he negated Genova’s standup ability, to be fair this was a good fight with plenty of kicks flying around but Tir was much more accurate with his standup legwork landing 42% of his kicks on target with Genova only landing 25% so Tir would prove to be a worthy winner in the end.

Viti V Rothstein

Blink and you would have missed this fight ! Viti won by way of KO (Punch) after only 28 seconds of round one of his second ever professional fight. He opened up Rothstein with a knee to the head then a hook to the head and Rotstein’s legs turned to jelly and the crow were calling out “TIMBER” as he hit the deck. Viti was deadly and accurate and didn’t miss any shot he took on the night.

Helgason V Venkatakrishnan

Two more debutants fighting here in front of the baying crowd. It was a strange fight at the start with Venkatakrishnan instigating clinches then breaking them off which must have been part of the grand plan where he clinched hit once then broke off to try to wear his opponent down which worked as won by TKO (Punch) after 1.59 minutes of round one with the ref calling the fight as he felt Helgason wasn’t fit to continue after he called him Mom several times!

Parisi V Tsergas

Real slugfest this one was with both fighters happy to swing punches at each other rather than worrying about kicks. Tesrgas was floating like a butterfly as he only got hit once in the whole fight before landing a massive left hook on Parisi which knocked him out cold after 2.38 of round one. Tsergas has big plans for himself and based on this result he has a good future ahead of him.

Cardoso V Whok

Cardoso look tired coming into this one and Whok made light work of him in the end when he nearly took Cardoso’s eye out with an elbow after a minute of round one of this fight. This elbow was the culmination of 10 other elbows that landed on Whok in this fight and he went home battered and bruised after this bout.

Lahey V Stoner

Poor enough fight in the end this one was with the crowd getting little tetchy during the last round in particular with the bouncers outside the ring getting a bit worried things might kick off. Lahey won in the end by way of unanimous decision 30:27. There was a lot of punches/kicks thrown in this bout but not many landed but Lahey will be happy enough that he won it in the end

Dabingyaba V Chai

Good match up here with Chai winning in the end by way of KO Punch after a bruising 2,24 minutes of round one, plenty of action in this one. Chai knocked Dabingyaba out cold with a beautiful left hook to get a great win on his debut fight.

Brathwaite V Honcho

Another fight on the night to go the full 3 rounds with Honcho winning in the end by unanimous decision 30:27. This was was always going to be interesting with Honcho having heavy hands and Brathwaite with his granite chin so not surprised it went the distance! Honcho had it all his way in the clinch and this where his strengths lie and he scored all his points in the clinch. Brathwaite lost this one because he was very inaccurate with his shots all night.

Branch V Marques

This one lasted less time than the scene in American Pie where Jim and Nadia get together in Jims's bed! Branch KO’d Marques after 37 seconds of this bout with a divine hook that dropped Marques out cold - beautiful stuff!

Hope you like the review
