Synchronicity presents another stella card from one of the biggest stadium in the world.

Main Event

Middleweight Championship

“Jungle Boy” Pablo Escobar (20-7-0) © vs. Danny Brown (27-15-0)

“Jungle Boy” Pablo Escobar has lit-up Syn’s middleweight division. His electrifying striking has seen him go toe-to-toe with some of the biggest names in the world and come out the victor. This culminated in the Columbian capturing the vaunted 185 pound title in just his second fight with the organisation.

So it is rather strange that the “Jungle Boy’s” first challenger is not a new foe but his greatest rival.

Danny Brown made an identical pilgrimage from New Generation Fighters and has equalled the champion’s two in two record with his new company. Stylistically, he is also a mirror image of the champion with high volume strikes and a focus on leg kicks. In fact, it would not be unfair to say that each man has been nurtured by the others successes. They have been left with no choice but to develop in order to counteract the other’s strengths. Without one another, these two great fighters may have never become the superstars they are today.

Their storied rivalry began at NGF 131 when Brown took the first fight by the tightest of split decisions. Even back then their similarities were remarked upon but no one could have guessed the journey they might travel. Both men would go on to be famously frustrated by incumbent champion Tyler Richards. The power shifted between Escobar and Brown on their second meeting. Brown had just come off a second failed title attempt and many people believed that Brown was not in the right place for that fight. “Jungle Boy” exploited that opportunity with vindictive pleasure as he scored a second round TKO.

With both warriors owning a win, the tie-breaker came in with the gold on the line. The aforementioned Tyler Richards having vacated the title for pastures new. No one was confident in predicting who would be the winner despite the last contest’s conclusive finish. So it was a massive shock when, out of nowhere, Escobar landed a picture-perfect combination that floored Brown in the first round.

Such was the will of the fates, that huge win was the springboard for Escobar’s run to the top of the Mixed Martial Arts pyramid. It must have caused tonight’s English challenger great pain to see his fiercest rival career trajectory skyrocketing. Especially as he must know that it really could have been him on that path.

Undoubtedly, all that pent-up frustration will go into Brown’s performance, but Escobar will have the self-assured confidence that comes from two consecutive victories. This history will make “Jungle Boy” the clear favourite to defend his crown but the chance to equal the stakes could well drive Brown to new levels of greatness.

Only tuning into the pay-per-view will answer this mystery.

Prediction: Escobar - 4th round stoppage

Co-Main Event

Cooper “KO FedEx” Abreu (24-6-0) vs. “Deus de Guerra” Pluto Palhares (43-10-0)

In becoming one of the few men to have ever defeated pound-for-pound great Bowser Stromcrow, “Deus de Guerra” Pluto Palhares proved that there was still ample fight left in this legendary welterweight. Admittedly, the Brazilian native did go on to lose the rematch and then his Syn debut to suffer back to back defeats for only the second time in his career. However the absolute certainty that “Deus de Guerra” has about his future prospects makes even the most jaded fan believe.

Opposing Palhares is another fighter who, rather oddly, is also on a career equalling bad run. Cooper “KO FedEx” Abreu has split his last four fights, all for Ascension’s welterweight title. Before that the Los Angeles native had dominated the competition around him, which mimicked everywhere he had fought before. With the opportunity to start over in new surroundings, it was not unsurprising that he too is talking about making another deep run for a title.

The unfortunate truth is that these are two ageing fighters who’s best days might be behind them. Both need this win to demonstrate that they are still relevant at the highest level of competition. Expect this one to be a tight affair with nerves being a surprisingly big factor due to the conclusiveness that will be placed on the loser.

Prediction: Palhares - Unanimous Decision

Main Card

Heavyweight Division

Dmitry “Edge” Borschev (23-9-0) vs. Jeffry McWild (19-4-0)

Aussie Jeffry McWild has made sweeping changes to his career since he was last active. Not only is this his first appearance in Syn but he is also fighting out of a new camp and has an improved svelte physique.

Clearly McWild has a desire to test his new found abilities as he collides with the steamrolling momentum of Dmitry “Edge” Borschev (23-9-0). The Russian has won his last three, all within the allotted time, and possesses a level of self-assurance that we have never seen before. Frankly, Borschev is going to be an incredibly difficult man to stop in this form and that is only going to be extenuated by McWild’s ring rustiness.

Prediction: Borschev - 2nd round stoppage

Middleweight Division

Hal Jordan (38-14-0) vs. Dragon Slayer (27-10-1)

Before Syn 337, Hal Jordan would have been delighted with the prospect of facing Dragon Slayer. Now the longtime Evo competitor finds himself dragged into a contest with an angry and disrobed former champion, who’s mood is worsened by the press’s constant reminder that the championship loss was also the first time he has lost back to back fights.

It was a wonder that anyone was willing to suffer this backlash. However there is some method in Jordan’s madness. A win surely catapults him into contention for the Syn crown and another route to that gold is far from guaranteed considering his advancing years. This won’t take away from most analysts expectations that the fight will be over in Slayer’s favour quickly, but stranger things than a Jordan win have happened.

Prediction: Slayer - 1st round stoppage

Featherweight Division

Nate “The Hybrid” Kyzer (34-6-1) vs. Chibi “The Tsunami” Tsushima (25-15-0)

A fight for the hardcore fan here as Nate “The Hybrid” Kyzer and Chibi “The Tsunami” Tsushima meet in a clash of great second tier heroes.

This should not be seen as a slight towards either man. They have both carved out notorious careers despite never having the limelight shone on them. Admittedly, Tsushima did have a run in TTFC where he was surprisingly unsuccessful but this has not deterred arguments about his potential greatness in the right situation.

Both men are now in a prime position to repay their believers with a run in the world’s biggest organisation. The key to this fight is whether “The Tsunami” can get to the fight to the ground. He is a great submission artist that is well beyond anything Kyzer has faced before. However, the tides are turned if Kyzer can control where the fight plays out and it will be the Canadian who becomes favourite to walk away the winner.

Prediction: Tsushima - 3rd round stoppage

Undercard

Light Heavyweight Division

“Heartless” Patrick McWhiskey (33-13-0) vs. Christer Pettersson (25-15-0)

For a fighter to have faced multiple top 100 opponents but never be gifted a title shot is unlucky. This is exactly the story of Christer Pettersson’s career. His challenge get no easier here, with a tough debut against former Evo champion Patrick McWhiskey. It’s unlikely the start of Pettersson's Syn career will be any luckier.

Prediction: McWhiskey - 2nd round stoppage

Light Heavyweight Division

“Dr. Akula” Alucard Darkim (25-14-0) vs. “Bastard” Torrelio Sacana (25-9-0)

Submission demons clash at 205. If colour was the defining factor then this would be Sacana’s fight. However more than one observer has suggested that Darkim may be the smarter fighter so he could be able to compensate. Let’s just hope these two really challenge each other rather than go ultra conservative.

Prediction: Darkim - Unanimous Decision

Middleweight Division

Lee Trevino (15-3-2) vs. Osin “The Deer” O’Conghalie (27-17-0)

Lee Tervino’s momentum was curbed after only picking up a draw in his last fight. He will look upon the sliding Osin O’Conghalie as a great opportunity to get back on the road to a title shot. “The Deer” is no pushover though, and Trevino could become completely waylaid if he doesn’t concentrate fully on his opponent.

Prediction: Trevino - Unanimous Decision

Heavyweight Division

Damian Sepultra (15-6-0) vs. “The Dominator” Trent Pope (42-21-0)

The unbelievable potential of Damian Sepultra is not in doubt. What is in question is his desire to be in the fight game at all. He takes on one of the great survivors of the heavyweight division in Trent Pope. Whatever happens, someone is snapping a nasty losing streak.

Prediction: Sepultra - 1st round stoppage

Heavyweight Division

Mark Sutter (23-20-0) vs. “The Kid” Deidara Zetsu (23-15-0)

Abundant joy was seen at Syn 331 when Mark Sutter finally broke his losing streak. Now he looks to make that a winning streak against Deidara Zetsu. Both these fighters are susceptible to the knockout so this is unlikely to leave the first round.

Prediction: Zetsu - 1st round stoppage

The talk of Los Angeles’s commuter belt has been the new Synchroncity sign that now towers over fans who enter the LA Memorial Colossuseum. The installation of this new landmark, supported by Australian Xtreme Elite Supplements 160Q, shows just how dominant the organisation has now become.

To celebrate, the company puts on Syn 342: Renato vs. Roach which will once again pack the stadium to its’ rafters.

Main Event

Light Heavyweight Championship

Tiago “The Brazilian MT Machine” Renato (25-4-0) © vs. “Bartman” Bartholomew Roach (22-5-1)

Many moons have passed since Syn’s light heavyweight champion Tiago “The Brazilian MT Machine” Renato has been seen in the company. The patriated Fin knockout artist has been forging a path through the greatest 205’ers in recent months instead. He now returns to the company with the proof that he is the true number one worldwide. With that mantel firmly in place, he now faces the challenge of defending his own belt against number one contender “Bartman” Bartholomew Roach.

The challenger has been in contention for a title shot for some time. He has even had to fend off a number of rivals who thought they could bump Roach out of his golden position. The nomadic native of Roswell, New Mexico also took the chance to take some inter-organisational matches to keep himself sharp. “Bartman” will be hoping that these experiences puts him in good stead against a fighter who is far more used to the glare of the world stage.

People with long memories will remember that there was a first fight between these two dynamic strikers. An epic contest where Roach was knocked down three times in the opening ten minutes but somehow survived to make it into the fifth round. Arguably, this was the first sign of Renato’s true greatness as he was able to refocus and finally put Roach away.

Clearly both men have developed hugely since those days and are almost unrecognisable as competitors. To take any tactical information from that fight is more likely to inhibit success than assist victory. What can’t be ignored is that “The Brazilian MT Machine” has the raw power to floor his rival. “Bartman” can only hope that a better start will allow him to show his own brawn but this is a mental barrier the challenger will need to overcome.

There will be practical considerations to make too. His whole game plan will need to be designed around the knowledge that one silly mistake could mean the end of his night. This is the sort of pressure that a fighter can either fold or thrive under. Without casting unwarranted and unjustified aspersions on Roach’s character, it is notable that he has failed to ever attain another title shot since his loss to Renato. The New Mexican has as much to prove to himself as anyone else that he can perform under these ultra-pressurised conditions.

All eyes will therefore be on the opening stanza of this fight as it will be critical to the outcome. Roach must show his illustrious opponent that he is both willing and capable of standing his ground. The champion knows that one big punch could see his foe turn into a victim, as the memories of their previous contest floods back into focus. If the former happens then the fight could be very competitive, but, if it is the latter occurs, then the fight may end very quickly indeed.

Prediction: Renato - 1st round stoppage

Co-Main Event

Light Heavyweight Division

Evgenily Malkin (24-9-3) vs. “Deadly” Fullsize Mirror (35-18-0)

A fast turn around for “Deadly” Fullsize Mirror, as he returns to action just two weeks removed from his first round victory at Syn 340. The Vegas native will look to capitalise on his momentum against Syn’s favourite ironman Evgenily Malkin.

These two share a recent common opponent. Ambrogio Ballestrazzi has back to back wins over Mirror in the now defunct Conflict organisation, but lost his Syn debut against Malkin. This would usually indicate that Malkin should be considered the heavy favourite. However it has been pointed out on many an occasion that the massive adrenaline dump of fighting in front of 93000 marauding fans can turn the greatest fighters into jelly. There is just no way to know if that was an accurate portrayal of how good the Italian can be.

What might be a more concrete factor is Malkin’s experience in taking fights with short lead ins. He really is an ironman as he rarely goes more than a couple of weeks without competing. Obviously, his body and mind is used to this hectic program. Mirror doesn’t have a career based on such a workload and is a considerably older competitor. This will surely hinder his ability to be fully recovered in such a limited timeframe.

The one factor in Mirror’s favour in brute power. No doubt “Deadly” is thinking he will end the fight before any conditioning issues even enter the conversation. If he can’t, then we’ll see how wise it was for Mirror to take on the ironman at his own game.

Prediction: Malkin - Unanimous Decision

Main Card

Welterweight Division

Gonna “Get” Spanked (28-9-0) vs. Yang Tao (36-14-0)

There is always a frisson of excitement when two former champions meet for the first time. Especially when both fighters are still relevant in the current title scene like Gonna “Get” Spanked and Yang Tao are.

How Spanked gets inside against Tao’s notorious leg kicks is likely to be the defining aspect of the fight. If “Get” can bypass his opponents best weapon then he should be able to cause a significant amount of damage inside. Otherwise this is likely to be a difficult fight for the American as Tao is just so good at hitting and moving.

What would be most impressive is if either man get put the other away. Tao has been in 18 consecutive decisions in Synchronicity, which has both shown his inability to put another fighter away and his excellent defiance in the face of adversary. Either record being broken would be a major boon for the successful fighter, and would give them a much bigger boost in everyone’s estimation than the victory alone.

Prediction: Tao - Unanimous Decision

Welterweight Division

“Thor” Eiji Kawashima (37-12-0) vs. “Hispanic Causing Panic” Hugo Valderena (25-11-0)

Multiple columnists have implored “Thor” Eiji Kawashima to throw of the shackles of his recent conservative performances, and once again embrace the dynamic force that earned him the nickname “Thor”. Few opponents at this level of competition would be more appropriate to enact this old mantra against than “Hispanic Causing Panic” Hugo Valderena. The highly skilled Columbian has great power in his own strikes but is surprisingly susceptible to being caught by a well timed counter.

If Kawashima can find the confidence in himself to re-find his earlier edge then he is the clear favourite. Yet it is hard to believe the recent conservative “Thor” will not be overwhelmed by the more exciting Valderena.

Prediction: Valderena - Unanimous Decision

Featherweight Division

Bucky The Badger (31-16-0) vs. Naru “ Kasi” Jarkko (38-17-0)

Both Bucky The Badger and Naru “Kasi” Jarkko are coming off losses to featherweight champion Bartek Pietrzak, and will be looking to the other to restart their campaign back to the title.

These two have met before, with Jarrko winning a very one-sided decision. However that was at the higher 155-pound weight class where The Badger has seen far less success historically. This contest should be a far more even affair as the Fin’s physical dominance should be reduced due to the weight restriction. It is still doubtful that Jarkko’s game plan will differ though. He had tremendous success with the counter takedown last time, which completely undermined the pressing style of The Badger.

Whether the American The Badger is able to be more composed at his natural weight will determine how different this fight actually is. For his sake, he’d better be.

Prediction: Jarkko - Unanimous Decision

Undercard

Lightweight Division

Numero Cero (30-14-1) vs. “The Bounty Hunter” Jango Fett (22-9-3)

Numero Cero has really found himself as a fighter late in his career. He’ll want to continue this wave of momentum against Jango Fett, who also seems to have found his feet amongst MMA’s elite. The winner of this one will put themselves in prime position for a number one contenders match in the near future.

Prediction: Fett - 3rd round stoppage

Light Heavyweight Division

Alexander Adolphson (28-8-2) vs. “Bad Boy” Leroy Brown (13-3-0)

Big things are expected from Leroy Brown, who has been fast tracked into Syn’s light heavyweight division due to his monstrous potential. He now needs to prove his worth against the faltering Alexander Adolphson. The newcomer really has no choice but to put his foe away if he is going to maintain the ludicrously level of hype that currently surround him. Anything less and the potential superstar may feel the backlash of the same media types that helped him achieve this lofty position.

Prediction: Brown - 2nd round stoppage

Featherweight Division

Charles “The Hammer” Martel (54-18-1) vs. “The Gun” Santiago Calirante (13-2-0)

Syn’s highly experienced Bantamweight champion Charles Mantel steps up into a higher weight class to take on exciting rising star Santiago Calirante. This is a real intergenerational clash as Calirante would still have been in short trousers when Martel started his career. Most expect the nous of the elder statesman to be the difference but the explosiveness of the younger man shouldn’t be underestimated.

Prediction: Calirante - 3rd round stoppage

Heavyweight Division

Nelson “AK-47 Is My F’N Address” Gunn (28-15-1) vs. “The Hulk” Autumn Hunter (30-13-3)

Don’t expect a nuanced contest when Nelson Gunn and Autumn Hunter go toe-to-toe in the middle of the cage. Both men suffered a mini-set back in their last fight but they’ll know that one loss is much easier to overcome than two in a row. So expect much carnage as rage and desperation is laid out in a real war of attrition.

Prediction: Hunter - 2nd round stoppage

Featherweight Division

Rico “El Chupacabra” Dominguez (27-17-3) vs. “Kreator” Bobby Moore (29-19-3)

More than once Syn has offered fighters, who have failed to live up to their potential, the chance to reinvent their legacy. Rico Dominguez and Bobby Moore both fall neatly into this category and now have to eliminate the other if they are to fulfil their hopes. An opening to the card with as much tension as the title fight itself.

"The Killer" Virgil Morgan

I have a fight in two days Charles, so make sure you don't have any injuries and we'll clash soon after it. It's about time that someone stops your winning streak and I hope it won't be Santiago, as I want to be the one to do it. So good luck in that fight, get one more win on your record and then let's do this!

SYN NEWS

Champ Chat with Charles Martel

JJ: Well the last time I spoke with our guest I asked him about retirement I will not be asking him that any time soon.

Charles welcome to CHAMP CHAT

Charles: Good to be back JJ, and this time I am back as an official SYN Champ.

JJ: Well you had a big fight since I last talk with you

Charles: Yea, Idea and I had s rematch for the bantamweight title. It was a much closer contest than the first time around; Idea had made some good adjustments to his game since the first fight. At the end of night, it was not enough and I walked away with yet another world title for my mantel.

JJ: I made a lot of money betting on your last fight champ. What, if anything surprised you in that fight?

Charles: That is good, I am glad one of us made some money off it! I have been in over 70 pro fights at this point; there is not a lot that surprises inside a cage anymore. Except for the recent robbery of my main training, partner Winning Sheen in his bid for the CCF HW Championship. Yet another example of some of these hack promotions and the promoters paying off judges and refs. His opponent was allowed to bring a razor blade into the cage for their bout. That saw him lose another fight due to a cut. Nevertheless, as far as my own fight versus Idea, nothing surprised me.

JJ: How is the 200 hrs.? Community service going?

Synchronicity regularly spoils it’s fans with reckless abandon, but the powers that be have really excelled themselves for Syn 344: Dead Man Walking.

Main Event

Organisation vs. Organisation Special Attraction Match

MiddleWeight Division

Ascension’s “6th” Neno Pejovsky (28-8-1) vs. Syn’s “Jungle Boy” Pablo Escobar (21-7-0)

The prospect of seeing two of the world’s greatest middleweight fighters’ clash has rejuvenated the jaded and invigorated the capricious, as everyone with a pulse will be finding a way to see the battle between Syn’s champion “Jungle Boy” Pablo Escobar and Ascension’s invading kingpin “6th” Nene Pejovsky.

These dream matches are usually confined to the great tournaments of the Tycoon world. Rarely do the months of planning and countless tenuous agreements work out. Much kudos must be given to all involved for getting this fight onto the docket at all.

Clearly neither of these great champions need any introduction. Simply being crowned as the best in either Ascension or Syn secures a fighters notoriety forever. However, how they match up against each other is a fascinating study in what makes a great fighter.

Both men have based their abundant success on a granite chin and noble spirit. Neither man has been knocked out at any point in their career, and both can claim multiple victories where they have fought through adversity. In many ways they are mirror image of the other. This creates an unusual tactical situation for both “6th’s” and “Jungle Boy’s” camps as they know that their opponent is at their most dangerous when in trouble, and perversely it could well turn out that the man who gets on top first could end up in the greater trouble later.

Presumably, both sides will also be backing their fighter’s power to come to the fore despite the defensive qualities that would seemingly define the fight. They do share 37 combined KO and TKO victories. Yet there does seem to be a certain inevitability that this will be more about who digs deepest than who can land the big shot first.

So who will win? Frankly, if the odd makers in Vegas are pushing on a fight then you know it is too close to call. The only apparent advantage is surely Escobar’s, as he is fighting in the comfortable surroundings of his home organisation. When this is being paraded as a plausible reason to split two fighters, you know the fight should be a barnstormer.

Prediction: Escobar - Unanimous Decision

Co-Main Event

Middleweight Division

Dragon Slayer (28-10-1) vs. “Master Of Disaster” Zlatan Spazstor (48-21-1)

Few fighters make it to the pinnacle of one organisation for any length of time. Syn debutant “Master Of Disaster” Zlatan Spazstor can claim that achievement on, a rather impressive, three separate occasions. Even more remarkable is that he has achieved that standing in a different company each time.

Now coming to the dusk of his storied career, Spazstor has thrown the dice once again as he looks to make an impression on the world’s biggest MMA franchise. His forthrightness will be tested from the off as he faces the fearsome former champion Dragon Slayer. The Las Vegas native, and long time Syn fighter, is undoubtably one of the best middleweights in the world despite losing two of his last three fights. Slayer affirmed that grandiose position in his last fight as he fought back after being rocked in the opening seconds to beat Hal Jordan in just over two minutes. Coming back with such superiority, especially after back to back defeats beforehand, shows the iron will of Slayer. Perhaps this should well be considered a greater weapon than the clinch that has made him so famous.

The aforementioned clinch will surely be the focus of both fighter’s game plans. As experienced as the Hungarian Spazstor may be, he has never really mastered close quarters fighting and has been undone on the few occasions that a rival has been able to force the position on him. So the “Master Of Disaster” will presumably be planning to do everything in his power to prevent his oppressive opponent from gaining a hold of him. Whether this is an achievable goal for a full fifteen minutes seems somewhat doubtful so the pressure will be on Slayer to produce another stand out performance,

Prediction: Slayer - 2nd round stoppage

Main Card

Lightweight Title

Jan Zelenka (26-7-2) vs. “The Bounty Hunter” Jango Fett (23-9-3)

Although the press’s attention has been focused on the night’s main event, many of Syn’s hardcore fanatics are far more excited about welcoming back lightweight champion Jan Zelenka. The champ, who has been away from the company for well over a year, was held in high acclaim after reaching the final of the Winter Olympics tournament. However a high-profile split with his camp shortly afterwards has somewhat overshadowed those accomplishments.

Now his, and the greater MMA public’s, focus must return to in-ring action where he faces “The Bounty Hunter” Jango Fett. A fighter who just refuses to lose.

It is distinctly difficult to talk about Fett without sounding patronising. Clearly skilled compared to an average fighter, he just doesn’t appear to be at the same level as Syn’s elite. Yet he has ground out wins over tough opponents whenever he has performed under the Synchroncity banner, and that absolutely makes him the right man to get a shot at the platinum belt.

Whether the Vanuatuan can make this final jump is certainly a question that has been much debated. Especially when there is such apprehension over what kind of Zelenka we may see coming out of his new training regime. The easy conclusion is that this will be a step to far for Fett and he will fall short against someone with so much more big fight experience. Then these theories have been sprouted at Fett since he joined the organisation. Perhaps he has one more shock left in him.

Prediction: Fett - Unanimous Decision

Featherweight Division

“The Gun” Santiago Calirante (14-2-0) vs. Bucky The Badger (32-16-3)

There were more than a few raised eyebrows when “The Gun” Santiago Calirante was able to get past Bantamweight champion Charles Martel. Now that the Spaniard has proven his prowess against a world class but undersized opponent, he now gets an even stiffer test as he faces a truly great featherweight in two-time Syn champion Bucky The Badger.

The onus will be on The Badger as he will need to dictate the pace of the fight. Calirante has a really slick stick and move approach that has seen more than the odd opponent swing repeatedly at fresh air. Surely The Badger will look to close off that space and force “The Gun” into a brawl that should favour his more bruising power. Otherwise the crowd could be christening the birth of the next true contender at featherweight.

Prediction: Calirante - Unanimous Decision

Featherweight Division

Martin Philippe Njewel (20-8-1) vs. Chibi “The Tsunami” Tsushima (25-16-0)

Adapting to the finishing ability possessed by all long time Syn fighters is one of the more difficult issues that all newcomers to the company suffer. Chibi “The Tsunami” Tsushima found this out a the hard way, as he was put to the sword in his debut despite dominating the fight up to that point.

Such danger will be just as apparent for “The Tsunami” in this fight. Martin Philippe Njewel has power in all four limbs and appears to be finding a way to utilise this gift more effectively as he gains valuable experience. Several bloggers have speculated that it is only a matter of time before he blows up and goes on a streak of quick knockouts. Tsushima will be desperately hoping he is not the first to feel this expected rate wraith but he’ll need to be far more canny than he was in his last outing.

Prediction: Njewel - 3rd round stoppage

Undercard

Heavyweight Division

Cody Gale (38-18-0) vs. Jeffry McWild (19-5-0)

Considering how respected both Cody Gale and Jeffry McWild are in the world of mixed marital arts, it is surprising how much each man has to prove in this fight. Several people have suggested that Gale’s chin has gone while many others are questioning McWild’s passion to continue fighting. The man who wins will hush those doubters instantly but the loser faces a long stare into the abyss of rumour and gossip.

Prediction: Gale - Unanimous Decision

Middleweight Division

Begbie Franco (26-15-1) vs. Gareth McCall (18-10-0)

Few fighters have consistently entertained the Syn faithful as well as Begbie Franco has. He will surely try to continue this trend against fellow Scot Gareth McCall. No doubt it has not escaped the notice of each fighter that they are each representing one of the great cities of Scotland. Those bragging rights will give this encounter an extra edge which should make this a must-see contest.

Prediction: Franco - 2nd round stoppage

Middleweight Division

New “E” Sis (10-1-0) vs. Oisin “The Deer” Conghalie (28-17-0)

With all due respect given to Oisin Conghalie, this fight is all about Nem “E” Sis. The Silent Fighting Championship champion joins Syn on a ten-fight win streak, and has already been crowned, by the internet, as the future number one middleweight in the world. Anything but a reasonably straight forward win for Sis would be a shock to many. However it should be remembered that this is Syn where there are no easy match ups.

Prediction: Sis - 2nd round stoppage

Featherweight Division

Knuckle “Pummel” Stone (29-21-0) vs. “Mepisukarya” Itagaki Fukuzawa (20-10-0)

Knuckle Stone looked to be on a roll before being frustrated last time out. He will see Itagaki Fukuzawa as a ideal opponent to restart his momentum but you just don’t know what a desperate performer like Fukuzawa might do.

Prediction: Fukuzawa - Unanimous Decision

Featherweight Division

Silik “The Gash” Hunt (31-27-0) vs. “The Turk” James Torello (17-8-0)

The dramatic fall of James Torello is one of the biggest stories that has been criminally under reported. The former champion is the curtain jerker for this event and faces another man on a three fight losing streak in Silik Hunt. The loser of this one will probably be looking for employment elsewhere after the night is over.

Prediction: Torello - 1st round stoppage

And now, introducing the champion, fighting out of the red corner - he stands 207cm tall, weighed in for 259.1 pounds. He holds an undefeated record of 9 wins and no losses, former Barbarian FC Heavyweight Champion, former Honour FC Heavyweight Champion, and the reigning, defending, undisputed UNFC Heavyweight Champion, Arthur "The Shaaaamrock" Curryyyy!!!

The referee of this contest is Sugihara Yukimoto.

Referee: Okay guys, you ready? Are you ready? Fight!

Commentator: Round 1 and we are underway! The champion wearing white/orange trunks, the challenger with the black. Nord opens up with a couple nice looking low kicks, but Curry is slapping his thai and is asking for more - that should get into Nord's head! Curry quickly switches to southpaw position and delivers a heavy kick to the body. Curry smiles and instantly comes with some hooks and clinches up with Nord. Vidar Nord opens up with all kinds of punches from the clinch - body, head, body, head! Curry shows good defenses and blocks most of them, and then breaks the clinch. Oh, looks like Curry is cut after a stinging jab, but he isn't phased by that - he wipes the blood of with his hand and licks it - boy that's nasty! Great setup by Curry leads to landing a good cross and a shot to the liver, and then he clinches. And now the clinch game goes on - Curry puts Nord against the fence, but Nord is still working heavily - his work rate is impressive but he's not connecting with most of these shots. Curry is not really working much offense here, it seems like he's just holding Nord and letting him go with these shots. Oh snap - it looks like Curry is whispering to Nord's ear! What is he saying? 10 seconds left in round 1, Nord being pushed against the fence and missing the shots. That's it the round is over, referee separates them and Curry screams to Vidar's face once again! While walking of he starts beating his chest and the crowd goes wild!!!

Arthur's Corner: Alright breathe man, give me 5 deep breaths. Okay, you're doing good, I think you've won the round. You really hurt him with that body kick, did you see that man? When you kick he's covering up the body now, I need you to feint the body kick and come with a hook over the top, alright? It's all you have to do baby, feint and crack, feint and crack! He's afraid!

Referee: Round 2 guys, you ready? You ready? Fight!

Commentator: Curry quickly takes the center of the octagon and OOOOOOH!!! Curry with a massive left hand that drops Nord! He just waves him back to his feet licks some of that blood from his hand again... Damn, Nord looks a bit wobbly... Curry presurring forward and this time delivering a hard kick to the liver. That one hurt but Nord seems not to be wobbly anymore. They stand in front of each other in the center of the octagon - look at that!!!! Curry feints a left kick and comes with a massive left hand!!! OMG, Nord just collapses and Curry jumps on and starts raining bombs on him! And it's aaaaaaallll over! Arthur Curry wins by TKO!!!

Arthur Curry (10-0)

Just got a fight offered against some squint fuck called Genghis Khan. Bitch is thinking he's some Mongolian king or something with a name like that. I'll break him and crack him with a big shot that will send him back to his yurt where he can get some rest from fighting such assasins like me. He seems to be a veteran of Syn, and a veteran at getting KO'ed. Time to deliver some ass whopping in the big show!!!

Also, here's a photo of me holding the UNFC belt after my succesful title defense! #memories #curryforking

Synchrocity 349: Basterds

Synchrocity 349 heads back to the city of angels for another fantastic night of MMA action with two world champions on the line. The main event of the evening will see #9 pound for pound fighter and Syn 205lbs champion Tiago Renato attempt to make his 3rd title defense when he takes on former champion Evgeniy Malkin. In our co-main event of the evening the 155lbs champion Jango Fett looks to make his first title defense against Eiji Kawashima who is another talented fighter coming from the Moyses Mattos camp. The rest of the main-card is rounded out with an excellent welter-weight contest between Ramazan Temel and Gonna Spanked as both fighters come from excellent fight camps. It will also see two match-ups of young, up and coming superstars who are making their org debuts.

Undercard bouts:

Chase Dunn (6-1-1) vs. Jaan Jalgratas (5-4) - 170 lbs

Vladimir Kharitonov (27-14) vs. Bobby Moore (30-20-3) - 145 lbs

Edward Gamer (30-17) vs. Vinny Zombo (17-11-1) - 170 lbs

Bastien Harris (17-7) vs. Hugh Janus (14-8) - 145 lbs

Hannibal Barca (18-4) vs. Rastaphan Dominatrix (18-7)

The opening fight on the main-card will see two up and coming young fighters making their Syn debuts when Hannibal Barca takes on Rastaphan Dominatrix in a 3 round bout. Hannibal Barca is an elite level boxer with extremely heavy hands, and has finished all 18 of his opponents when leaving the cage victorious. Barca has found great success while in the minor leagues and is a former GAMMA Contenders org champion. We at Syn are glad that he has chosen to not stay in the minor leagues by joining GAMMA’s parent org and has instead decided to test himself against elite competition right here in Synchrocity. Barca will have a tough test in his debut when he takes on an accomplished grappling specialist in Dominatrix. Despite his recent skid which has seen him lose 4 of his last 5 bouts, Dominatrix is not a fighter that should be taken lightly. He is a former Hilo Fight League champion and possesses great finishing ability in both the striking game and on the ground. Rastaphan has finished 16 of his 18 victories with 11 of them coming via TKO and 5 by submission. He is clearly at a disadvantage in boxing ability so will likely look to use his MT game to set up his takedowns. If Dominatrix can get this fight to the ground and gain a dominant position he could make this a long night for his opponent. That will be no easy task however as Barca has never been taken down in his 22 fight career. Both of these young fighters look to have very promising futures here in Syn but only one of them can walk away victorious in his debut.

Sacco Venzetti (11-6) vs. Alonzo Diggs (16-7)

In our 2nd fight of the evening we see two more fighters making their Syn debut in the middle-weight division when Sacco Venzetti takes on Alonzo Diggs in a 3 round match-up. Sacco Vanzetti is an exceptional boxer who likes to come forward behind his combination punching. He also likes to mix it up with his opponent against the cage in the clinch position where he has a varied attack that consists of dirty-boxing, knees and elbows. He has excellent power in his strikes and has finished 8 of his 11 wins via TKO, but also has a somewhat questionable chin having been finished by that same method in all 6 of his defeats. That could prove problematic against a heavy handed striker like Alonzo Diggs who comes into this fight having finished all 16 of his victories by TKO. This looks like a very even match-up on paper with the only glaring difference between the two fighters is that Diggs tends to favor single shots over combination punching. Diggs also seems to have a questionable chin with 5 of his 7 defeats coming via TKO but has been on quite a roll under new management. This fight could come down to which fighter lands the first big blow which should prove to be a very entertaining fight for the fans.

Gonna Spanked (28-10) vs. Ramazan Temel (22-11)

We reach the midway point in our main-card with a fight in the welterweight division when Gonna Spanked takes on Ramazan Temel in a 3 round fight that sees both fighters looking to get back on track in order to make a run at the title after the age of 30. Gonna Spanked has tasted the glory of being champion on several occasions winning titles in Rising Sun, Heroic and also here in Synchrocity but in the 185lb division. Spanked holds two victories over current EVO champion and Lance Templeton product Lucas Bishop but is just 2-3 in his last 5 fights. He is a very well-rounded fighter an likes to use come forward behind using primarily head punches and leg kicks in order to set up his takedowns. Spanked is an excellent wrestler and has landed on near 50% of his takedown attempts in his career. Once the fight hits the ground he looks to punish opponents with a devastating ground and pound attack. He is also a very capable clinch fighter using an effective dirty box game while mixing in elbows and knees to wear down opponents against the cage. Ramazan Temel is still looking to capture his first title at any level in his fighting career. Temel had a fast start once moving to the big leagues going 7-1 in Heroic and Syn but then dropped 3 straight fights before rebounding with a quick knock-out his last time out. Temel is an aggressive striker who likes to use his attacks to help set up his takedowns. Once the fight hits the ground he looks to gain the dominant position and use his ground strikes to set up his submission game. He will look to get this fight to the ground and avoid getting stuck against the cage if he hopes to walk away victorious in this fight.

Jango Fett (24-9-3) vs. Eiji Kawishima (39-12)

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20120325031119synbeltnew.jpg

The next fight on the card is our co-main event of the evening and is a 5 round contest for the light-weight title when Jango Fett looks to successfully defend his belt for the first time when he takes on Eiji Kawashima. Our champion comes into this fight un-beaten in his last 8 fights and looks to continue to climb the pound for pound rankings with another big victory in this one. Fett is an elite level wrestler and also possesses a black-belt in BJJ and while he prefers to dominate opponents with an excellent top game he is also very capable if this fight should remain on the feet. The “bounty hunter” likes to come forward behind a good jab and isn’t afraid to mix in good hard leg kicks but it will be interesting to see if he can get inside and land strikes against the taller opponent. Eiji Kawashima is a 51 fight veteran and looks to capture his first title in Syn at the ripe age of 36 years old. Kawashima has captured a world title at an elite level before in the now defunct UPG Vegas but came up short in his first attempt in Syn. He has gone 7-3 since his loss in that title fight but has won 5 of his last 6 fights to gain another opportunity at calling himself champion. Kawashima is an extremely talented striker who likes to push a fast pace and has big power in his hands and comes forward with a barrage of punches in kicks while always looking for the knock-out. Kawashima has as many knock-outs as our champion has victories and he could very well finish this fight if he is able to keep it standing. This should be a very entertaining fight for the fans with 1 fighter looking to solidify his spot as champion and the other looking to walk away with Syn gold for the first time in his career.

Evgeniy Malkin (26-9-3) vs. Tiago Renato (27-4)

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20120325031119synbeltnew.jpg

Finally the moment we have all been waiting for as this next fight is the main event of the evening and will be 5 rounds for the Syn light-heavyweight championship, when Evgeniy Malkin looks to become a 2 time champion by taking on who I’d consider the best fighter on the planet in Tiago Renato. It’s been a while since Malkin last wore the title which he won via unanimous decision over the then un-defeated Light Diode. He lost the title in his first defense by split decision against Devin Styles and hasn’t been granted another opportunity until now. After reeling off 5 straight wins however Malkin gets the opportunity he has long been waiting for and in my estimation will need to use his grappling if he has hopes of leaving the “city of angels” with the strap. Malkin has the striking ability to stay in the fight but seems to lack the necessary knock-out power to win a pure striking match with a killer like Tiago. If Malkin is able to mix in his striking with an effective ground game I like his chances considering that the 1 chink in Tiago’s armor was the ground ability of his foe AJ Hearts. The Brazilian MT machine is used to wearing gold as he is the current Syn light-heavyweight champion and the Tycoon Winter Olympic gold medalist in the light-heavyweight division. Renato has been beating elite level fighters for a long time and comes into this fight on an 11-2 run with his only blemishes coming against AJ Hearts in close decision losses. Tiago Renato is one of the most feared strikers in the division. He pushes a fast pace and has excellent power in all of his strikes which is evidenced by his 81% knock-out percentage during his 31 fight career. Renato is an extremely difficult fighter to prepare for and if he is able to keep this fight standing he probably wins this one in dominating fashion. The one concern I have for him is if his age is starting to catch to him because he hasn’t won by knock-out in his last 4 fights after starting off with finishes in 22 of his first 23 victories including a stretch of 16 straight knock-outs in fights that he was victorious. It will be interesting to see which of these two elite fighters will walk away with gold but if I was a betting man I wouldn’t ever bet against the Brazilian.
