Welcome to Honolulu-Hilo MMA (HonoHi)

The newest fight organization located in the beautiful state of Hawaii.

Run by myself (Zeke Williams (125288)), as well as Raichu Kong (117362), this organization will strive to be one of the best entertainers of ID restricted martial arts combat.

However, along with starting this company's thread, a couple of announcements:

1) Fighters

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR MORE FIGHTERS!

As an upcoming fight organization, we are seriously requiring fighters right now, and there's not much that is required in order for a contract to be offered.

Your fighter must be:

1) With an ID of over 325,000.

2) Able to fight in weight classes 155 - 265.

Other than that, your fighter is set! Send me (again, Zeke Williams (125288)) a PM stating who your fighter is and a contract will come shortly after I am online.

2) Title Tournament

This is the important part of the announcements, as it involves every single belt offered for the beginning of this organization.

 

It's a giant tournament spanning 40 fighters, and 5 weight classes, with only one winner per weight class.

These tournaments will also be seeded under the complete discretion of myself, I'd rather this not be random.

So if you want a title, send your best!

Today is a beautiful day in Hilo, very calm, and very serene.

However, 8 days from now, on August 31st, sounds of victory and defeat will indeed ring the air as we get set for the first ever Honolulu-Hilo MMA brawls to take place in Hayashi's Lounge, where up to 2000 will get the chance to spectate this event.

And if you don't know what I'm talking about, then I'd like to welcome you to....

HonoHi 1: Origins!

18 of the first contracted fighters will ALL be making their debut performance to try and woo the audience, as well as possibly set themselves up in a better position when the tournament rolls around. But enough gawking over who could be fighting, let's take a look at the match-ups right now!

However, I think this will be a hell of a fight.

Undercard Predictions will come first, followed by Main Card Predictions, and finally the Co-Main Event, Main Event, and Award Predictions.

Undercard:

[ireland] Surly MacConnelly (2-2-0) vs. [Tonga] Avion Lassiter (1-0-0)

For each write-up that I do, I like to analyze these fighter's previous matches and stats to try and come up with an all-out winner. So therefore, it only makes sense to debut and analyze two of my own fighters. The first match-up will be Surly MacConnelly of Ireland, taking on Avion Lassiter of Tonga. This fight exemplifies the theme that seems to have appeared throughtout these match-ups, and that is a more experienced fighter taking on someone who isn't so. It could provide surprises, so let's delve into these guys.

 

Surly MacConnelly, with a mostly even ratio of general statistics, looks to play mostly a far-away stand-up game, as his boxing stat is the highest of the 4, at 7. Unlike later people in his situation as the experienced fighter, all of his fights were from the QFC, and to say they've been mixed would be an understatement. He'll want to keep away from the ground, because his losses to fighters Jimbo Covert and Faustino Porter, were from submission and unanimous decision, respectively. However, his win against Kenneth Maxwell shows that he can handle Muay Thai fighters, and his win against James Lewis shows that he can upset, as stats showed that Lewis was the better boxer. But he's had a 67% win rate past the first round, so I would believe that will be his key to victory.

 

Avion Lassiter, the more inexperienced fighter of the two, shares some similarities with MacConnelly, especially in that this is his first non-QFC fight, that boxing is his best statistic, and that he's won. However, his win didn't turn out how you'd expect, as he out-clinched his opponent, Didi Hamman, a Muay Thai specialist, and put him under submission in the first round. He's grown as a fighter though, so we'll see what he has up his sleeve, as he could truly pull anything out of the bag.

 

Although MacConnelly has the edge when it comes to his favored tactic, he crumbles on the ground, and seeing that Lassiter did it with ease, I'm going to give the win to Avion Lassiter.

 

Prediction: Avion Lassiter > Surly MacConnelly, by Submission (Round 1)

 

 

 

 

 

 

[Germany] Tom Ofenloch (0-1-0) vs. [italy] Carlo Digano (0-1-0)

 

The battle of these two fighters will be an interesting one, as both are fighting for their first professional win after debut losses, so this will be a quicker rundown than most, but that doesn't mean they will have a lame brawl.

 

Tom Ofenloch got his debut loss from a now 19-19-0 fighter named Lewis Rampage, by submission in the first round. However, this was on May 12th, 2018, over 3 months ago, and since then he's been training to become an elite Muay Thai fighter with exceptional Wrestling and BJJ. It'll be hard to see him lose on the ground.

 

Carlo Digano, meanwhile, had his debut fight after he was signed onto Honolulu-Hilo MMA, and he got smashed by a way more experienced fighter. However, this fight wasn't for nothing, as Digano showed that he could escape when he wanted to, and that he has more ground game to show.

 

With as much hype as I can give however, Ofenloch just looks overall much more impressionable than Digano, and I couldn't go without giving Ofenloch the nod.

 

Prediction: Tom Ofenloch > Carlo Digano, by TKO (Round 2)

 

 

 

 

 

 

[Japan] Katsuya Nakamoto (2-1-0) vs. [united Kingdom] Jamie Steenburg (1-0-0)

The next undercard fight shown is another fight with experience vs. inexperience. Both, however, take to the fight a little bit differently.

 

Katsuya Nakamoto prefers a stand-up style of fight, as his boxing statistics tower over his others. Must be why he got a TKO victory in his debut in 9 seconds. While he appears well-versed in winning by knockouts and decisions, his one loss comes from the ground by submission. He'll want to avoid the ground at all costs.

 

Jamie Steenberg, meanwhile, can't box for his life, however, all of his other stats look reasonable, especially his Muay Thai and BJJ skills. His one win, against Floyd Dorsey, looked dominant, but could make people question his finishing power, as two rounds he won 10:8, which is a rare score to see.

 

While both can make it to the end, Steenberg's possible lack of finishing and Nakamoto's raw power make this a more than reasonable nod to Nakamoto.

 

Prediction: Katsuya Nakamoto > Jamie Steenberg, by Unanimous Decision

 

 

 

 

 

 

[brazil] Hudson Gabriel Fernandes (3-0-0) vs. [somalia] Fedor Emilianegro (1-0-0)

Our first Heavyweight fight is also special like Ofenloch v. Digano, as one of these fighters will get their first professional loss. With a combined 4 wins total, who will get the loss?

 

Hudson Gabriel Fernandes doesn't seem like he'd want to disrupt his 3 fight win streak coming into his first organization fight. Fighting on the ground, he likes to submit opponents or get to the end with a win. However, going to the end might leave a bad taste in Fernandes' mouth, as his last match was a really close win by Majority Decision.

 

Fedor Emilianegro, with only 25% of the wins total, shows extreme prowess in Boxing and Muay Thai, and his only fight wasn't even a QFC win, it was in RISE, where he took down Tony Huge by strikes very early.

 

Even with Fernandes' 3 win streak, Emilianegro shines where Fernandes doesn't, and that should be enough for his 2nd victory.

 

Prediction: Fedor Emilianegro > Hudson Gabriel Fernandes, by KO (Round 3)

 

 

 

 

 

 

[France] Vercingetorix Frenchy (5-4-0) vs. [Azerbaijan] Abdul Gazimov (4-9-0)

To round out the undercard, we have a couple of veterans, looking to show their trade and win their debut in HonoHi.

 

Vercingetorix Frenchy is a pure all around fighter, that has fought for Sydney Fights, and the now defunct Torcida. His results, however, have been mixed. While he has won both of his QFC fights, he went 1-1 in SFC and 2-3 in Torcida. He also plays a finish or be finished fight, as only one of his fights has gone to decision, which ended in a unanimous loss. What he will go for in his debut for HonoHi, is up in the air, however he likes his TKOs and even submissions sometimes, so it would be hard to imagine another end.

 

Abdul Gazimov's winning record is even more questionable than Frenchy's, as he has less than a 33% win rate, and even then, his opponents that he beat have a combined win-loss ratio of 7-33. All of this in QFC. However, he has shown to be good in the clinch, and prefers to stand up, as all of his wins were by (T)KO. However, it'll be hard to see if he can translate it into his first organization fight.

 

This one shouldn't even be a contest, I can't even pick Gazimov in my dreams unfortunately. The nod goes to Frenchy.

 

Prediction: Vercingetorix Frenchy > Abdul Gazimov, by TKO (Round 1)

Great Tiger: A vision called me to join this new organization and become its champion. Here I will return to old traditional training methods and meditation instead of sparring. Fear not the man who trained a thousand techniques, fear the man who trained one technique a thousand times.

Main Card:

[Croatia] Mirko Filipovic (3-4-0) vs. [india] Great Tiger (2-3-0)

Our first main card match sees two veterans of the fight try to reclaim an even record, while further pushing down the other. Who will get the chance do so?

 

Mirko Filipovic would certainly want to, as he has to feel the need to get a win after losing in the trap known as Level 2 QFC. Before this previous debacle, however, he was a fighter for Sydney Fights, where he ended up fighting an even score, starting off strong, but then falling of, with only 1 win in his last 4 matches in the organization. However, with his high stats in Muay Thai and BJJ, he'll want to stay close, whether it be on the ground or standing.

 

Great Tiger falls under a similar category, after one win in CEC Challengers, he went 1-2 in the now defunct Torcida before losing his first ever QFC fight, just like Filipovic. With a similar fight style, emphasis on their close-up game will be key for success.

 

I feel that this will be a very close one, but I think Filipovic's experience will trump what Great Tiger can throw at him. Filipovic gets the nod.

[united Kingdom] Iain Waddell (1-0-0) vs. [united States] John Miller (3-2-0)

Once again, inexperience vs. experience. Let's bring down to the tape.

 

Iain Waddell, on the Eastern side of the Atlantic, is newer, but has shown that he can grind his way to a unanimous decision when he wants to. He's an all around fighter, with no strengths, but the ability to do anything, and sometimes that's the most scary thing to be able to do in a cage, especially against a specialist fighter. However, he's facing someone that's just like him. He goes by Whistle Tits.

 

John Miller, like Waddell, proves that he's a capable fighter, going on a 3 win streak early in his career. However, two losses has now brought him down to where he is today. And after getting the boot from CEC Challengers, he's decided to ditch the Hollywood scene for something more tropical. The sky's the limit for him, because currently he just wants to get off the ground.

 

And get off the ground he will, as I think Miller can settle Waddell, because Waddell's finishing power is, as of yet, unknown.

 

Prediction: John Miller > Iain Waddell, by Submission (Round 2)

 

 

 

 

 

 

[Russia] Fedor Oumakhanov (4-2-0) vs. [united States] Jose Canseco (3-4-0)

Two more veterans duke it out in our heaviest weight division, let's see what they have to offer.

 

Fedor Oumakhanov was a dominator of the QFC ring, gaining a 4 match win streak. Then he got signed by RISE. He got slaughtered by two seperate fighters based on TKO, getting knocked out twice in less than a minute in for the first round. When he's not getting smashed by other fighters, he can go toe to toe with those in boxing, or he can take it all the way. The big question for him is whether he'll stick with that strategy, or if he'll moreso rely on his wrestling talents.

 

Jose Canseco, however, hasn't gotten the chance to smash lower-tiered fighters, as he has fought with Torcida for his whole career. Going 3-4 in the organization before it collapsed, he by far prefers his excellent boxing capabilities. You should also know that he's named after the Oakland A's outfielder that was known for being a hard hitter, so you know he's the real deal.

 

Jose Canseco can hit, but it isn't certain that he'll be able to survive the ground once he gets there, and Oumakhanov can for sure get him down there, so Oumakhanov gets the nod.

 

Prediction: Fedor Oumakhanov > Jose Canseco, by Unanimous Decision

With more talent constantly rolling in, I'm confirming right here and now that the previous seeding is NO LONGER CONFIRMED.

As well as this, the fight list for 205 lbs will be completely overhauled, as Seed 4 (Abdul Gazimov) and his manager (Filip Kral) have gone quiet, forcing me to release him. Seed 3 (Hirokai Hidaka) has also retired from fighting after he could not find a new manager, meaning he is now released as well.
