World Vale Tudo Fight League - 135lb Grand Prix

Recommended Posts

Following on from Season 1 of the Open Weight Grand Prix (which is due to finish next week on Saturday 18th), I would like to announce that registration for Season 2, which will be contested in the 135lb division, is now open!

Rules will be very similar to last season but with a few very small changes. As per last time we are looking for 20 fighters who will compete in the qualifying group stages consisting of 4 groups of 5 fighters and each fighter will face each other once. The first and second place fighters will qualify for the Championship Play-Off which will be single elimination until the end where we declare our season winner and fighters who finish third in the group will be eligible for the 5th Place Play-Off which again will be single elimination.

Fights will be 2 x 10 minutes and judging is whole fight and in a cage (except the final which will be 3 x 10)

3 points for a finish win

2 points for a dec win

1 point for a draw

0 points for a dec loss

-1 point for a finish loss

In the instance of a fighter going awol his opponent will be given the full 3 points.

*One major difference this time round is that cage time will count higher than head to head record as a decider when points are equal in the group stage

Prize Money will be announced at a later date but will be no less than last season and the overall winner will get 3 months VIP.

The creation date for this tournament is the Sunday 26th August. Fighters must be 18. Testing is ALLOWED

The first event will likely be on the 8th September and fights will take place every two weeks after that (so fair warning that you might face the possibility of fighting injured or cut. Any longer in between fights and the whole thing would take too long)

The group stage will last about 8 weeks and managers will need to commit to four fights no matter how badly they're doing. The whole thing should last about 14 weeks from start to finish so please make sure you are willing to commit that amount of time.

That should cover everything but any questions please ask. If you would like to enter please get in touch.

Last season has been a lot of fun and a pleasure to run so I'm really hoping that this next season can be even better.

Given that our head count doesn't fit the required participants, was hoping that our creation date be on the 26th :D If that would be okay I would be very sure to be able to join. (I have a guy I'd love to release but he has a fight on the 24th) hahaha

I guess I'm ok with that actually. There seems to be a lot of tournaments recently and I think a few guys are having the same problem. I'll push the creation date a week

You really have no choice my friend. It's sort of mandatory at this point :D

Awesome guys. I've put you in

I have to agree, All of my fighters moved on to be pretty decent and now we have that possibility that i will actually win the last tournament you hosted if i win the finals at the end of the week. Kenji Kozlov has been a real fun test with extremely funny results consider how we both know i started that fighter before training.

I would like to join, please.

I have free slots. I’d like to join in

Hey guys, thanks for your interest, I'll definitely keep you in mind but Chucky, you've only just started playing and your account is about to run out of money which worries me and PatriotWay, your forum account isn't linked to your in game account so I have no idea who you are.

I understand your concern, but I will be able to keep my finances up. My guys have enough to keep them in the gym and I have 8 guys with upcoming org fights. 1 guy is entering League of Leagues and one slot is available for this tournament. I will keep my slot available if you reconsider. Thanks!

Are there any weight restrictions (min weight / max weight / or weighing exactly at 135lbs) since it's now in the Bantamweight division?

No restrictions mate. Just have to make 135lbs

Chucky, fair enough mate. I'll put you in if you still want in?
