Guys, I'm just gonna toss this out there and then walk away as I finish working on organizing the divisions again today after last night's event, getting rankings and stats in order, setting up stuff for next month and preparing to do the review. But...in the meantime...I have two things for you...and those are "FOUR" and "MAIN EVENT". LOL! I'll leave it at that. :notworthy: :injured:

On a random side note, here's a little personal story of mine.

About five months ago, I messaged Hare that I would like to sign up Nyah to Sucker Punch.

He told me yes, but are you sure you can handle that? Because you ain't in the ID range and we've got some really strong fighters here, like Psiris (yes, he actually linked him in particular) and Wanderson.

I said I was sure and that I could handle a loss here and there since I loved the production too much.

Well, five months later, the day has come, and today, Nyah fought Psiris - fight link

So yeah, today's fight happened to be quite special for me.

And next month, Nyah is fighting Wanderson, so the circle is about to close.

You done an impressive job so far, Fuhren is not an easy opponent. But have to warn you there's a risk of shortcuts when connecting things in circle so could be lights out next time :)

Well, you seemed to question my ability to keep finding undefeated fighters for Machado to face! Haha, another rabbit out of the hat!

Machado landed the first low blow in the 3rd round, a good solid kick right where it hurts the most. But going into the 4th things really started to get ugly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Machado misses with a low kick as Ainsworth jumps back, was he trying to kick him in the balls again?
Ainsworth pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Oooooooooooh, a low kick from Machado lands flush, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oooooooooooh, Ainsworth returned the favour, right in the... He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ainsworth throws a lazy uppercut
and Machado counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ainsworth thinking.
And Ainsworth lands another kick to the balls!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of low blows and sucker punches over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Machado lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ainsworth's sensitive parts.
You can see that Ainsworth has visibly slowed down as a result of the groin kicks.

Wanderson Machado: What a fight! That guy just wouldn't go down no matter how many times I kicked him, got some granite balls for sure. I may be 8-0 now but Donkey keeps throwing quality challengers at me so got to stay sharp and not shy away from anything to stay on top, a bit of rest now then back to training.

Post Event Cheap Shots

Sucker Punch Pro Series 17

Hello again everybody, Hare Rumpler here along with my partner and analyst Donkey “Dan”. We’re also got Suzy Sucker Punch, our media correspondent, with us today as we take a quick look back at Sucker Punch Pro Series 17 from the other night!

I’m thrilled to tell everybody that this event, which took place over at The Bridge, an absolutely fantastic venue that holds 10,000 people, was our highest rated event ever for the org! With two title fights on the docket and a ton of other highly hyped bouts, this one was every fan’s dream to get a chance to be there live and watch all the action unfold!

And, as many of you know already, the Main Event itself, the Middleweight Championship title fight, lived up to the Sucker Punch name for us and was an absolutely insane affair out there! So hang onto your hats folks, we’re about to get into this and I’m going to move quickly today as unfortunately my time is limited. Now, without further ado, let’s hear from our sponsor and merchandise partner so we can get to looking at each fight in more detail!

http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1584375781SWN.jpg

When you think about training your fighters, one of the biggest concerns is keeping them in the gym and actively training, am I right? And you can’t do that if they have to be stopping to recover and rest for sessions here and sessions there! That is why you need to visit our sponsor, Shadow Warrior Nutrition, and specifically grab some of their Shadow Warrior Tea 160Q. It is literally the best energy loss reduction supplement money can buy and will keep your fighter in the gym training rather than sitting days out resting! Stop on over there today, you will NOT be disappointed!

Now, let's get to it!

Undercard Bout #1: Heavyweights

Victor Ballsawash Defeats Tnt Winner via KO (Punches)

With Winner having zero morale going in, we figured he had next to no shot at success. Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened as Ballsawash was able to control and dictate this fight from the start. Winner was busy trying for takedowns throughout, seventeen of them to be exact, and was unable to complete any.

Ballsawash was deadly with the combos in this one, and even at one point in the first managed to take this fight to the ground. While he’s done that and used some nice GnP with success in the past, we thought that was the one area he should avoid against Winner. He didn’t stay there long, landing only a couple shots and the rest of the fight, including all minute and a half of round two, was spent on the feet.

With low morale going and unable to get anything going in this fight…or rather, not having the will to bother getting anything going…this one was bound to end sooner or later, and just over ninety seconds into the second Ballsawash was able to put it away with a big time hook that ended the night for Tnt Winner…and with it, his career with Sucker Punch!

Donkey, whatcha got bud…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Hare, as you said this was the end of the run for Winner with Sucker Punch. For Ballsawash, this made four wins in a row and he’ll be due a much tougher fight next month to test where he’s at and whether he deserves to hold onto his new fifth place ranking!

Undercard Bout #2: Middleweights

Bill Sherman Defeats Toth Orion via TKO (Knees)

Donkey, we talked about how Sherman likes to get the fight into the clinch and get the dirty work done there. However, outside the clinch, he’s big on letting his feet fly. The clinch is exactly what he went for in this one and staying on the feet was critical to his success against Orion. Orion did get the takedown from the clinch halfway through the first minute, but Sherman did a great job defending and eventually got the standup from the top position. Once up, he took it back to the clinch and got to work again!

A little over two more minutes of knees and head to the body was all it took for Sherman to break Orion down and get to that granite chin of his, speaking well to the power and effectiveness of those knees Sherman was pummeling Orion with! Sure enough…

Sherman has Orion pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Orion is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Sherman - that's hurt Orion badly! Oh, another knee lands and Orion is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Orion doesn't seem to be complaining.

Anything else Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

I called for Orion to get the win in this one and Suzy is telling me that Sherman’s camp had something to say about that after this fight! Sherman moves to a very nice 4-1 and is ready to step up the competition a bit here going forward. Next month he’ll get a chance to step up to Luke Glanton, a fellow striker, and we’ll see if he’s ready to really make a statement! For Orion, a drop to 2-3 is not what he had in mind and his manager certainly seemed to be expecting more, as we’re told management cut him loose after the fight and he’s now looking for new guidance and representation!

As he exited the cage, victorious, Suzy was there to grab a word with Bill Sherman…

Suzy Sucker Punch: Bill, congratulations on a big win! Some were picking Orion as the favorite to win this fight, but you’ve found a way to come through once again, with only a single loss on your record as you adjusted to a new manager. Any words for the folks out there in Sucker Punch Land?

Bill Sherman: Suzy, tell Donkey that I hope his foot tastes good!

Suzy Sucker Punch: Ha, I will certainly do that Bill! I have a feeling he already knew it was coming!

Undercard Bout #3: Heavyweights

Lanuola Sefina Defeats Anton Meshkov via KO (Strikes)

We gave Meshkov a ton of respect because he’s just destroyed guys with those hands of his in a very short period of time in his fights. However, this night he finally ran up against somebody who could bring it just as hard as he could! As expected, Sefina decided to take this to the ground just before a minute was up as he’s had a tendency to do in prior fights, with the intention to dish out the nasty ground and pound he’s demonstrated a love for.

This time, in addition to dropping a shot and an elbow here and there, Sefina offered up two sub attempts as well that Meshkov politely declined. Meshkov was able to escape, and back on the feet was offering up some shots but not landing much. The takedown process repeated itself again in the third minute of action with Sefina offering up an increased rate of strikes down there and another sub attempt. Meshkov was able to weather the storm though for over a minute, but then the punishment got to be a mbit much and Sefina was able to land a bit one that hurt Meshkov bad…and after a few more shots the ref was jumping in for the save!

Over to you Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Sefina is hoping to pick up where his ex-teammate Hatton left off, at the same time hoping that his early hidden of inexperienced doesn’t lead to as much trouble as Hatton’s cuts did. At 5-2, he’s well on his way to climbing that ladder! Meshkov won’t be thrilled to have taken the L in his Sucker Punch debut, but something of bigger concern to his new manager Kid Sunshine might be the lack of confidence that Meshkov showed after taking a loss. His morale dropped to practically zero and that can always be a concern.

Undercard Bout #4: Heavyweights

ZaDarius Haden Defeats Hero Shima via TKO (Strikes)

We all know that Haden can deliver some seriously heavy shots. What we didn’t think is that a Carlos Castenada led fighter could get worked over on the ground. We found out that we were wrong on that, and indeed, he could and did in this fight. Haden got the takedown straight from the bell. While Shima offered up a couple sub attempts from the bottom Haden was busy dishing out the shots from above!

With Haden landing a significant percentage of shots from the top and Shima struggling to improve position, it turned into an “only a matter of time” situation and soon enough Haden had done the damage, with a final huge elbow putting the hurt on in a big way and opening the window for a final volley of strikes that would bring in the ref to call it!

So, what do you say Donkey...?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

After taking his first and only loss last month in his title challenge against Thoth Chontamenti, Haden bounced back with a big time win I nthis one, moving his record to 6-1. He’s proving that nobody is going to be allowed to forget about him anytime soon and he’s still in the picture! As for Shima, not the start he was looking for in his Sucker Punch debut as he moves to 0-2 and will be looking to bounce back with a huge first win next month!

*********

Undercard Bout #5: Welterweights

Luka Marka Defeats Sergio Vargas via TKO (Strikes)

Vargas came into the fight against Marka prepared to try to keep it on the feet and use his striking from there. In order to try to prevent a takedown, it seems Vargas was using more of a counter approach and for a few shots, it was definitely working well with him getting some good ones in on Marka.

But then Marka got the takedown, and it all went south from there for Vargas so to speak. Once on the ground, Marka’s signature ground and pound commenced and Vargas found himself struggling to improve position and get out of trouble. With Marka fully in control at that point, he was able to land a little under half his shots, with a full two hands worth getting the job done…

Marka lands a strong strike to the head of Vargas. That's dazed him! Marka looking to finish here. Vargas is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Marka lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Any other thoughts there Donkey…?

Donkey’s Pick: Marka via TKO (Strikes)

Moving to 5-1 sets Marka up for a Top Contender battle with the winner of the Reeves/Christiano fight that is upcoming. This will be a giant test for Marka as both fighters are extremely talented and will truly test Marka to see if he is deserving of the title shot after! For Vargas, going to 3-6 is less than desirable and three losses in a row, including this debut here at Sucker Punch certainly won’t have him in a good mood. The good news? He keeps his morale up extremely well after a loss. The bad news, he’s taken enough of those lately to reinforce what we know of that. Next month he gets a chance to get on the right track if he can get a huge win over Joseph Weaver!

*********

Main Card Bout #1: Middleweights

Andy Hughes Defeats Viktor Reznov via TKO (Strikes)

Reznov was a sixteen man QFC Tournament winner and having come out of that tournament and scoring three wins in org fight action looked primed to continue on his roll. Reznov was going for the takedowns against Hughes as would be expected for a ground specialist and Hughes was looking for them, stuffing the takedowns and countering effectively. After a fifth failed attempt by Reznov, Hughes was again ready and waiting, punishing Reznov with a counter right that knocked him off his feet for a few moments. Back on the feet, they went back to it and Reznov failed on two more takedown attempts, the second of which left him open to another Hughes counter of the same fashion, and another knockdown! Reznov was rocked at this point and it was looking bad for him!

Another failed attempt while Reznov was still a bit wobbly got him another counter on the button, and then two more shots from Hughes, the first knocking him down again, the second putting him on the ground for good were all she wrote!

Donkey, what else have you got for us…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

A great debut here at Sucker Punch for Hughes, he moves to 5-2 and is ready to work his way up the ladder here. He definitely needs to change his clothes though and be sure he comes in with his morale up next fight though or he’ll find it difficult to continue getting these wins! For Reznov, a disappointing loss against an opponent who wasn’t fully prepared and was primed to be taken. He may need to work on his takedowns still a bit or potentially his strength/speed, as you wouldn’t expect him to get rejected that many times against a proficient wrestler with no BJJ training.

Main Card Bout #2: Middleweights

Nyah Hirst Defeats Psiris Fuhren via Unanimous Decision

I have to say, I did agree with Donkey on this one and felt that Fuhren would pull through against young up and comer Nyah Hirst! However, Hirst was not to be denied, although this one had to go the distance for that to be proven out!

This was pretty much your standard boxing match, with these two going toe to toe the entire time minus a short period, and I mean short as in a few seconds, where they went into the clinch compliments of Fuhren.

At the end of the third round, it looked as if the ref was actually thinking about whether he should stop the fight or not as Hirst had Fuhren against the cage and was dishing out a bit of punishment, but instead, with the fight so close to the bell, he held off and let them finish things on their own. Strikes in this one were about even with the hands, but Hirst was a bit more varied in his approach and also landed shots with the feet that probably made the difference in this one! It was close, with Fuhren taking the third round despite it almost being stopped in favor of Hirst, but ultimately Hirst walks out the victor via the hands of the judges!

Donkey, what are you thinking…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

With the win Hirst also gets his title shot with Machado, something we’ll have to wait and see if he’s really appreciative of next month after that fight takes place! Fuhren won’t be totally thrilled with this loss as it opens him to an assault from those below as, like we mentioned, the sharks may smell blood in the water! He’ll need to step into the gym, work on tightening things up and get out here to get a big win in his next fight!

*********

Main Card Bout #3: Middleweights

Jacques Piaget Defeats Tyrion Lannister via KO (Head Kick)

The good from this fight? A beautiful and exciting Head Kick to end it via KO! The bad? Well, there was plenty bad that came out of this, unfortunately. First, the man who won and looks to be a potential contender in the division has had his manager go MIA. That sucks for the division, for the fighter and for the fans! The other bad? Lannister, who has lots of talent, has been sacked by his second manager now while with us at Sucker Punch. So if somebody’s looking for a quality fighter to take on, he might be worth a look.

Lannister definitely wanted this fight on the ground so he could try to finish it via submission. Piaget wanted nothing to do with that nonsense and used moving in and out of the clinch to keep Lannister off-balance while rebuffing his takedown attempts. In the clinch, Piaget’s knees were deadly, doing massive work on both Lannister’s body and head, with all of the shots getting through to the tune of twenty-two knees! Outside the clinch, he used solid kickboxing, mixing it up between the hands and feet to give Lannister a little taste of everything.

Finally Piaget let those nasty feet of his fly high and boom…

Piaget throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Lannister crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Donkey, what can you add…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

As you said, it sucks that a fighter with the potential of Piaget is probably missing quality training now and won’t be able to be scheduled for another fight until his manager returns, if he returns. It also stinks to lose another fun fighter to watch and a fan favorite in Lannister. Nothing good from this, but Piaget did give us a show while he was still in action here!

Suzy Sucker Punch: After the fight, we all heard Lannister step up to the mic with the announcer to make the following statement…

Tyrion Lannister: I probably didn't belong here anyway, but it was an honor to be here and get a shot, Sucker Punch fans, you guys are rock!

Suzy Sucker Punch: Well, there you have it guys. If we’re lucky, perhaps we’ll see him back in action here at Sucker Punch under new management in a week or so. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Co-Main Event

Lightweight Championship Bout

Frankie Logan vs. Valery Bokov

Ok Donkey, time for our two Main Events and we’ll start things out here in our Co-Main Event between Frankie Logan and Valery Bokov as Bokov comes in to challenge Logan for the Sucker Punch Pro Series Lightweight title! This thing just about went the distance…well, sorta…as it went a little over a minute into the third round! As things got kicked off here, we had our own Juice Fluffer head into the cage to announce the fight, and here was the replay from the other night…

3d8a168f5f8ff8e520307ef15bdabf4c.png

Juice Fluffer enters the cage…

“Ladies and gentlemen…this is the Co-Maaaain Event of the evening!”

“The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.

“Our sponsor for this event is Shadow Warrior Nutrition.”

“Annnnnnnd Now! A fight that Sucker Punch fans around the world have been waiting for…”

“LIVE!, from The Bridge in Sydney, Australia…”

“Iiiiit’s TIME! FIVE rounds for the Undisputed Sucker Punch Pro Series Lightweight Championship of the World!”

“Introducing first… to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a professional record of FOUR wins, two losses and NO draws, he stands 183 centimeters tall, normally weighing in at 162 pounds. He’s 23 years of age, from Tula, Russia and fighting out of Helsinki, Finland …the CHALLENGER and TOP CONTENDER in the Sucker Punch Pro Series Lightweight Division, Valery…Sammmmmbist….BOOOOOOKOVVVV!!!

“And now introducing…to my right, fighting out of the red corner. With a professional record of FIVE wins, one loss and NO draws, he stands 178 centimeters tall and walks at 153 pounds. He’s 22 years of age, fighting out of your home town Sydney, Australia and hailing from Falkirk, Scotland…the REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNNNNNDISPUTED Sucker Punch Pro Series Lightweight Champion of the World, Fraaaaaankieeee…“THE Scotch Kiiiiiiiss”…LOOOOOOOOGANNNNN!!!

And we were off Donkey! Time to see who was going to walk out of this one wearing that belt! Logan had already won the belt and defended it successfully, could he do it yet again this evening?

To be honest Donkey, Bokov seemed a little unsure of himself in this fight and really, as much as we expected him to try to take this thing to the ground, only made two attempts at it which were both repelled. It’s hard to say if nerves and pressure got to him and perhaps locked him up a bit, or if the strength of Logan’s boxing really just overtook the match from the start. But Logan got the better of the exchanges from the start, and that never really stopped. To Bokov’s credit, he went over two rounds in there with somebody who, at least on this night, was the far superior kickboxer. Bokov was trying to use his feet to slow Logan down, but not only was he failing to land his kicks, with Logan clearly having a high level of skill there, but Logan in turn was using his own kicks almost perfectly, connecting just about every time, to attack the legs and body of Bokov. He was also landing an alarming number of head shots with his fists and Bokov really never looked to be in control at any point.

Credit Logan with doing what champions do, because he came into this fight with intent and purpose and went about his job methodically in this defense! Finally, just after the first minute of the third round…

Logan cracks Bokov with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Bokov tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Logan pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Bokov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

And in came Juice Fluffer to make the call here…

“Ladies and gentlemen, after one minute and seventeen seconds of the third round, the referee has called a stop to this fight…”

“Declaring the winner…by way of a Technical Knockout…ANNNNNNDDDD STILLLLLLL…Sucker Punch Pro Series…Undisputed…Lightweight Champion of the World… Fraaaaaankieeee…“THE Scotch Kiiiiiiiss”…LOOOOOOOOGANNNNN!!!

There it is Donkey! He’s done it twice! How about that defense…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

You said it perfectly Hare when you said that Logan came into this with purpose and intent! He’s a true champion who knows what he wants to get done, how he wants to get it done, and then goes out and does it! Bokov is a strong fighter, but on this night, he was just outmatched. Logan continues on as the champ, and we couldn’t be better represented in the Lightweight division here at Sucker Punch!

Suzy got a few moments to speak with Logan back at the post-fight party at the club afterwards…

Suzy Sucker Punch: Frankie, Donkey actually picked Bokov to win the fight earlier tonight, but you pulled through like the champion you are. Any thoughts on that and did the fight go as you expected?

Frankie Logan: That kid was game but that was way too big a step up for him. Poor kid had busted legs, busted ribs and a busted head. I appreciate him stepping up though. Surprised the Donkey picked Bokov in this one, maybe he though he was fighting a bear again? :-). I called it exactly as it went. Very happy to be on such a big card, thanks all!

Suzy Sucker Punch: Congratulations Frankie, enjoy the celebration!

Main Event

Middleweight Championship Bout

Wanderson Machado vs. Wilfred Ainsworth

And here we go, the MAIN EVENT Donkey! And boy…did we get one here didn’t we?!? I mean, not only is this easily the fight of the night, as you’ll soon see…as if you haven’t already heard! Ha!...but this may very well be the fight of the year and of the organization so far in our history! This one will likely go down as one of those fights that makes the Sucker Punch Pro Series Hall of Fame eventually and will be remembered and talked about by fans forever!

But before we get too much further into it, let’s go back and hear the call from our own Juice Fluffer…

3d8a168f5f8ff8e520307ef15bdabf4c.png

Juice Fluffer enters the cage…

“Ladies and gentlemen…this is the Maaaain Event of the evening!”

“The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Topper Green and Francis DeMontford.”

“Our sponsor for this event is Shadow Warrior Nutrition.”

“Annnnnnnd Now! For those in attendance and Sucker Punch fans around the world…this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for!”

“LIVE!, from THE Bridge in Sydney, Australia…”

“Iiiiit’s TIIIIIIIME! Five rounds for the Undisputed Sucker Punch Pro Series Middleweight Championship of the World!”

“Introducing first…fighting out of the blue corner. With professional record of FOUR wins, NO losses and NO draws, he stands 179 centimeters tall, and walks at 185 pounds and 19 years of age, hailing from Newcastle, England and fighting out of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States…the Middleweight TOP CONTENDER and CHALLENGER, Wilfred…Ainssssssworrrrth…THE THIRRRRD!!!

“And nowwwww…FIGHTING…out of the red corner. Holding a professional record of SEVEN wins, NO losses and NO draws, he stands 175 centimeters tall, normally weighing 187 pounds and 21 years of age, hailing from Boavista, Brazil and fighting out of London, England…The Winner of the Sucker Punch Pro Series Middleweight Cockshot Sorter Series…AND THE REIGNING….DEFENDING…UNNNNNNDISPUTED Sucker Punch Pro Series Middleweight Champion of the World, “Wannnnnnnndersonnn…MAAAAACHAAAAAADOOOOO!!!

And we were off and going Donkey…oh boy were we off and going! Haha! This fight came down to two amazing fighters going out there with almost identical styles and preferences of attack…kickboxing at its finest…and boy did they dish it out back and forth! For three full rounds man, three full rounds! Machado was the more aggressive fighter and was able to land his shots at a higher rate, closer to 50%, while Ainsworth was landing closer to 25%. Machado’s aggression combined with his accuracy and delivery were what won this fight, but the fact that neither of these guys could knock the other on his ass, much less finish, was an amazing thing in and of itself!

Now, all of that said…yeah, this thing went to a decision, and your champ…well, he managed to get the job done despite having to put it in the hands of the nasty ole judges…but…before we worry about that, let’s get to the part that makes this fight…well…SUCKER PUNCH GOLD BABY! And you know what? We’ll let the manager for THE man, the living legend himself, your Middleweight Champion, Machado’s manager, Mac Little kick this one off and then look at the play by play as Mac Little remembers it…

Mac Little: Machado landed the first low blow in the 3rd round, a good solid kick right where it hurts the most. But going into the 4th things really started to get ugly…

Ainsworth throws a lazy uppercut and Machado counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ainsworth thinking.

Juice Fluffer was there to make the call...

“Ladies and gentlemen, after FIVE rounds of action this fight has gone to the judges for a decision…”

"Judge Ron Honeybunn scores the fight 50:45...Judge Topper Green scores the fight 50:45...and Judge Francis DeMontford scores the fight 50:45..."

“Declaring the winner…by way of a UNANIMOUS DECISION…ANNNNNNDDDD STILLLLLLLL…Sucker Punch Pro Series…UNNNNNDISPUTEDDDDD…Middleweight Champion of the World…Wannnnnnnndersonnn…MAAAAACHAAAAAADOOOOO!!!

Donkey, yes! You saw it! I saw it! Everybody in attendance at the 10,000 seat The Bridge…and we just about had a full house, I think at 9,877 people or so…yes, everybody there saw it! And talked about it…screamed about it…hell, cheered about it! Not one, not two, not three…but four, that’s right, FOUR shots to the boys, the dingle dangles, the family jewels, the funstick…yep, two from Machado to Ainsworth, and then as a return favor, two from Ainsworth back! And there were other attempts at the end as you saw man! This was brutal. This was doing whatever it takes to win! This was a fight that will be remembered like NO OTHER! This…melts my heart Donkey, it really does! Hahaha!

Well Donkey …?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Well what, Hare? I mean, am I supposed to have more to say after that? This was the kind of fight that you’ve always dreamed of! When you started an org named Sucker Punch, this is what you thought of as your banner of a fight! Hell, this is exactly what the logo depicts! I believe it even says, “Cockshot Experts Apply Within!” Well, you got what you paid for…and knowing the fans you’ve cultivated Hare, they got what they paid for too! Congrats to the champ…and to Ainsworth for an amazing fight!

*********

So there we have it Sucker Punch fans!

Well folks…what more can be said? We said this would be an amazing night of highlights in the preview! God, could we have been any more on point with that call? An amazing evening and we can’t thank our fans, our managers and our fighters enough! And with that, I’m out! Can’t wait for the next card so we can get back to action folks!

Till then…remember…

Keep it cheap and dirty…Sucker Punch Pro Series 355k+ style!

Konrad Wagner

Well, I have to admit Ronnie gave me a lot more beating than I had anticipated. But one good kick later, I am the champion.

Time for a short celebration, and then I need to prepare for Igor. He doesn't look like he plans to practice social distancing in our fight, so I will need to snuff him out quickly.

Destin’s Title Fight Spotlight

Sucker Punch Pro Series 18

Hey there fighters; welcome to the forth rendition of our Title Fight Spotlight series here at Sucker Punch! My name is Destin, and I’m your host. Tonight at SPPS 18, we once again have TWO title fights on our card! In our Co-Main Event tonight, Boris Balkan (5-2) is challenging Thoth Chontamenti (5-1) for the 170lb belt. Then for our Main Event of the evening, Konrad Wagner (5-0) is challenging Ronnie Bass (7-0) for the 165lb belt. Only one man will remain undefeated! Without further ado, please welcome Ronnie and Konrad to this press conference! *Applause from the crowd*

Ronnie Bass vs. Konrad Wagner

Destin: Hey guys, welcome to our Title Fight Spotlight series! Ronnie, congrats on winning the 170lb belt in your last fight, and Konrad, congrats for making it to the championship fight! Are you guys ready for this fight tonight?

Bass: Thanks Destin! Am I ready? I'm always ready, but I ain't walking into that cage underestimating my opponent. He's going to be in that cage with me for a reason, and he won't make this an easy title defense.

Wagner: Yeah Destin, I’m ready to take this belt from Ronnie. That is the purpose of challenging a champion, is it not? Ronnie, I do hope that you’ve kept the belt in sanitary condition, and that it is properly disinfected before being handed over to me. I don’t want whatever you’ve got.

Bass: Whatever I’ve got? Germany has done much better than the US with this virus bullshit so I’m not sure what you’re getting at bud.

Destin: Alright guys; Ronnie is the fan favorite tonight by far. In 7 fights, he's managed 7 KO's and not a single fight of his has gone into the second round. Our fans go nuts over his knockout ability every time they watch him fight. What do you guys think about that?

Bass: Well, the fans already know what to expect. I line em’ up and put them down, and that's what I'll be trying to do again tonight. I love the fans, they rock, and their support means the world to me. If I can avoid him catching me with a powerful counter, I think I'll be looking at 8-0. But I am not taking him lightly, and no, he can't have my teeth. He's a damned good fighter, and probably even more technical than I am. Gonna have to give it all I got to keep my streak alive.

Wagner: Wow, such a humble champ. Too bad our fans will really be talking about how Ronnie looked kind of dumb when lying unconscious on the mat after tonight. Yes, Ronnie has great ko power, but he has yet to fight a serious striker like me, and grapplers are not difficult to KO.

Destin: Wow, that’s big talk! Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder and something to prove. What do you want to say to the fans and critics who seem to be ignoring you because they're so fascinated with Ronnie and his KO record?

Wagner: Everything once comes to an end, and this tonight, it will be Ronnie's era of being a champion.

Bass: Yeah, good luck with that

Destin: Ronnie, After this fight, who do you want to take on next?

Bass: You know man, I've really not thought about that. I don't look at our roster and think of who I'd like to test, or who I'd like to beat down. I just focus on my game, and my training, and the opponents will sort themselves out. As long as I wear this strap, there will never be a shortage of guys wanting a piece.

Destin: How do you guys predict this fight will end?

Bass: That's easy! Someone is getting KO'd tonight for their first loss, and I will be looking to dish that out in the 1st, as usual.

Wagner: You’ve got the KO part right. ’m going to TKO your humble ass late into the second round.

Bass: Big talk for a challenger. This is gonna be a war buddy. I know you're gonna bring it, and I sure as hell am too. So get ready ladies and gentlemen, there's gonna be a fucking slug fest tonight baby!

Wagner: I won’t be called challenger for long. Keep your chin up, Champ, nothing bad can happen to it.

Destin: Alright guys, that’s it for tonight's press conference! Thank you both for showing up, and good luck in your title fight tonight. May the best man win!

Destin’s Title Fight Spotlight

Sucker Punch Pro Series 18

Hey there fighters; welcome to the fifth rendition of our Title Fight Spotlight series here at Sucker Punch! Without further ado, please welcome Thoth and Boris to this press conference! *Applause from the crowd*

Thoth Chontamenti vs. Boris Balkan:

Destin: Hey Thoth. Great to have you back on our pre fight show; congrats on being our first fighter to ever appear here twice! And Boris, welcome to the show! Boris, you’re the 26th ranked fighter here at SPPS and Thoth, you’re number 5. How do you guys feel about these rankings?

Boris: Hello Destin, thank you for having me here on your show. I'm very happy to have my third fight here at SP, and I'm absolutely thrilled to have earned a title shot already.

Thoth: Destin, I appreciate the warm welcome, and it's a pleasure to be back here. It's an absolute honor to be among the top 5 of this competitive and fast-rising organization. Like all warriors in this organization, the goal is to be the very best fighter and I know I have to train arduously and intelligently to give myself the best opportunity to achieve that goal.

Destin: Thoth, you've proven yourself to be a real submission machine. Boris is also a brown belt in BJJ. Are you going to try to submit him like your last 4 victims, despite him holding the same belt as you? And Boris, do you think you can match Thoth’s ground game?

*Both fighters looking at each other awkwardly for a moment*

Thoth: Uh, me first?

Boris: I think so? He asked you first

Thoth: Oh, ok. Well Boris has proven to be a dangerous opponent in any given circumstance. While I obviously favor submissions, there's no doubt that making Boris submit will be a monumental task due to his excellent BJJ abilities. I'm always up for a challenge and if the fight ends up on the mat, we'll have to see which fighter has the greater passion and will to overcome the technically equal skills in BJJ.

Boris: I'm not sure what i could say (laugh) Thoth is great all around fighter and I don't find him less dangerous on his feet than on the ground, neither i find myself less dangerous on the ground than on my feet. This is modern mma and I prepare for every situation, and I know my opponent do too. I certainly expect to find myself on the ground with Thoth at some moment and I'm sure in that moment all who wanted to present this fight like Thoth is seeking ground and Boris seaking to stand will see how wrong they were.

Destin: Boris, If you win tonight, you very well could become a top ten fighter here at Sucker Punch. Meanwhile Thoth, if you win, you could potentially become the highest ranking fighter in our organization. Are you guys ready to fight on this stage, in front of 7,000 fans? What will be the next step for you guys after this?

Thoth: An excellent question Destin, as there are many very worthy opponents in the heavyweight division here. Callum Neenan and Sith Rebel are in the upper ranks for a title opportunity so either of them. Naturally, I have to focus on Boris first because he has earned this shot and I know he'll do everything he can to leave that cage as champion. Oh, but I’m not nervous about this fight. I live for fighting and this is the biggest one I’ve had yet!

Boris: Amen Thoth. We are both just young fellows bringing ourselves before new challenges. We don't even know yet if we are going to be mma fighters or to choose other careers. So, it's just like that, i enjoy my training, i enjoy my fighting and my momental popularity with the girls of course. But I'm definitely not making any plans at the moment, neither poison myself with ranks or scores. Just enjoy doing what i love

Destin: How do you guys predict this fight will end?

Thoth: I predict this fight will end in a decision as long as I keep my chin out of the line of fire.

Boris: Yeah, AS LONG as you manage that…

Thoth: Boris has devastating power and I'd be a fool to not have great respect for that. It will be a war tonight and pain will be felt. I just hope I can limit that pain while keeping Boris off balance long enough to where he doesn't turn out my lights with one clean shot to my chin.

Boris: Kind words, humble champ. I will win, 2nd round KO. Just watch.

Thoth: A second-round KO? You know what, I’ll make this fight end in the first round just for you.

Boris: OK fine, first round KO, Boris. Happy now?

Thoth: *Sighs* Listen Boris, I have no doubt you're going to push me further than I expect, especially with the hammers you call fists! You've undoubtedly earned the right to win this title but know this. I too plan on pushing you further than any of your previous opponents and I will make you dig very deeply into your will and guts, to see just what you're made of. I fully expect us to put on one hell of a show for the Sucker Punch fans and whoever emerges the victor will know damn well they have earned it!

Boris: Agreed. *Face shoved in front of the camera* Thoth, hope you are ready to rock tonight mate!

Destin: Ok guys! Thanks again for joining us tonight, and best of luck in your fight later this evening!

Thoth: Thank you very much Destin! I'll take all the luck I can get!

Don't put words in my mouth. If you want to mix/change my words in an interview, have the decency to tell me first. Not cool. As for the champ Bass says good fight and that he'll be back. But he said next time you wanna run your mouth talking all that shit, he's gonna fuck you up. If that interview had been released with your fucking trash mouth before the fight, he would have gotten DQ'd by ripping your fucking nut sack off. Watch your six kid, Bass gonna kick yo ass next time round unless you duck him like a little bitch.

Kyle F management would like to apologise in advance. After telling our fighter Edward Mills multiple times not to engage in trash talk Edward called up local radio station Donkey Punch Radio during their live call in segment and began to trash talking his upcoming opponent Andy Hughes. At Least that's what we think he was trying to do. We have faith in Edwards ability but with an IQ of only 80 our management team is proud that he can even find his way to the gym most days. With that said below are some words from our Fighter Edward Mills. *Disclaimer these comments do not represent Kyle F management or any of our other fighters.

Post Event Cheap Shots

Sucker Punch Pro Series 18

Hello Sucker Punch fans! Let me begin this by apologizing for being unable to work on getting a preview out the other day for Sucker Punch Pro Series 18…unfortunately work has been hell this week and they’ve really kept things a bit crazy for us! That said, I’ve got some time here finally to get a bit of a review out for the event…so here goes!

As always, I’m Hare Rumpler with my partner and analyst Donkey “Dan”. Suzy Sucker Punch, our media correspondent, is always with us as well and ready to dish out some of the dirt behind the scenes with our fighters and managers, although I’ve been told it’s quiet on that front for the most part here!

This was a fun one with a little bit of everything folks! And it showed, as we ended up having probably our third or fourth highest rated event…and…wow…actually made a little tiny bit of profit on this one! That’s like only the second or third time that’s happened since we’ve been running, so cool to that! We had a few Heavyweights going the other night, both a regular bout between Porter and Henderson as well as the big Co-Main Event of Chontamenti defending his title against Boris Balkan! We had a Light Heavyweight bout, a Middleweight one and even a quadruplet of Featherweight fights on the docket for ya! And of course, nobody can forget about the Welterweight title fight between Ronnie Bass and Konrad Wagner!

So without delaying further…especially as I do still have a ton going on for work that I’ll have to get back to shortly, let’s hear from our merchandise partner and sponsor and then get to the good stuff!

http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1584375781SWN.jpg

When you think about training your fighters, one of the biggest concerns is keeping them in the gym and actively training, am I right? And you can’t do that if they have to be stopping to recover and rest for sessions here and sessions there! That is why you need to visit our sponsor, Shadow Warrior Nutrition, and specifically grab some of their Shadow Warrior Tea 160Q. It is literally the best energy loss reduction supplement money can buy and will keep your fighter in the gym training rather than sitting days out resting! Stop on over there today, you will NOT be disappointed!

Now, let's get to it!

Undercard Bout #1: Featherweights

Jean Jacque Custo Defeats Ivan Mrka via Majority Decision

We started the evening out here with a not so quick Featherweight bout that not only went the distance, but came down to a bit of a close call with the judges! That’s one that will always leave some bitterness in the mouth of whoever comes up short, and probably a bit of a desire for some revenge and a payback fight!

In this case the man who got the short end of the stick was Ivan Mrka. And frankly Donkey, if I’m Mrka, I’m also kinda pissed off with the decision for this one! He certainly didn’t look happy after the fight, that’s for sure. In the first round Custo got the takedown, but after a bit the ref stood them back up and eventually Mrka got the clinch. From there he was able to get a few softening up shots in and coming out of the clinch he was able to land a nice combo that clearly rocked Custo! Custo immediately went for a takedown to buy some recovery time, but again the ref stood them up after a short bit. That repeated itself two more times in the round, takedowns, nothing doing, standup. Rinse, repeat.

The second round was more of the same…takedowns, standup, takedown. Nothing really doing on the ground though, with Custo looking to improve position and Mrka defending and controlling. Custo got the round, but only due to the successful takedowns and control, there was no real action on the striking front. No sub attempts either. Nothing. The fans were NOT happy!

In the third, Mrka landed a few shots, with kicks and hands that got things going from the bell, and then the takedown and standup game started again. This is the round that is the most controversial…Custo got the takedowns, he controlled the action…somewhat…and got a sub attempt in. But no real threats offensively, no strikes landed really, and Mrka should have won that round with the shots early on before the takedown if you ask me Donkey! I think this was an extremely controversial decision on the judges’ parts man!

Donkey, whatcha got bud…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Hare, your arguments are valid and you could definitely make a case, as you’ve done, that this was Mrka’s fight! Custo gets the win though, and that’s just how the cookie crumbles man. With that win, he’ll move to 2-3 and Mrka goes to 1-2, and yes, he didn’t look happy about it at all. Not sure you can blame him. Maybe he’ll be asking us for a rematch soon, you think?

Suzy Sucker Punch spoke with Ivan while Custo was still in the ring talking to the crowd…

Suzy Sucker Punch: Ivan, not exactly the outcome you hoped for, or even, as some might say, deserved. Any thoughts on the fight or where you go from here?

Ivan Mrka: I dont know what the judges were watching.. I beat him up, and he just layed on me for 3 rounds. I stuffed every sub attempt, and he couldn't do anything to me.. Got stood up over and over, and I'd beat him up again. As far as I'm concerned, I won that fight. This dude is a clown.

Suzy Sucker Punch: Strangely enough Ivan, Hare and Donkey said the same thing when they were watching the right and afterward as they were considering the review. I always listen in on them before I tell them anything about these interviews, so yes, they seem to be on the same page with you without any prompting! Perhaps a rematch in the future for sure!

*********

Undercard Bout #2: Sparring Bout

Theo Trivette Defeats Niko Ahonen via Unanimous Decision

A quick little one round, three minute sparring bout for two of my own fighters Donkey. Not much of a fight really, honestly more of a fill-in fight but at the same time they both previously won so this as an opportunity to check out a morale drop for whoever lost.

Really nothing exciting to go over here…Theo got cut early, and that seemed to light a fire under his butt! The rest of the round was pretty much Trivette dominating the action on the feet, landing a solid percentage of his shots and displaying his ability as the more experienced and better trained fighter to date.

Anything else Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

We already knew that Ahonen had a granite chin and Trivette heavy hands from prior fights, so nothing new there. Ahonen lost, and with it dropped about 26% of his morale. That’s not ideal, but we’ll have to see what his future holds as he’s an ok learner, but not a super fast one. This is a bit of a touch and go situation for him, even with that granite chin.

*********

Undercard Bout #3: Heavyweights

Gary Porter Defeats Bubba Henderson via KO (Strikes)

Alright Donkey, on to the third match with a pair of big boys heading into the cage here! And this is the first one to come to a decision on the night, with the contest ending in the first round.

Henderson got a couple strikes in early, even cutting Porter in the process.

But it was Porter who took control with a takedown and once on top, he was able to assert himself and land shot after shot, going ten for ten with the strikes from above! He was unloading everything, especially after getting side control right from the drop…elbows, knees to the side, fists, you name it!

Finally, a big elbow came down, and here was the call by the play by play guys…

Henderson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Porter connects with a decent elbow. Porter in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Henderson looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Porter turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Over to you Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

A dominating fight for Gary Porter as he takes control of this thing early and imposes his will on the ground! A win he really needed to help him move forward from a 3-2 record overall, 1-2 under current management to a nice 4-2 going forward. This should reinvigorate him! I know who it didn’t reinvigorate though, and that’s Bubba Henderson who saw Slick Gunderson call it a day as his manager after this fight. He’d developed a 3-2 record overall while over with RRFC, but since coming to Sucker Punch found himself going 0-2 in this and his prior fight. I guess after seeing his boy take another two losses via KO or TKO…his prior loss to joining us was also TKO…Slick had decided he’d seen enough. He has good morale, as he only lost a very small amount of it after the loss. But with his strength hiding any real findings in the Tale of the Tapes early in his career it’s hard to say if he had any solid hiddens. Perhaps this man just lacks the heart? Perhaps another manager will pick him up and find out!

*********

Undercard Bout #4: Light Heavyweights

Morioka Shigemasa Defeats Dolph Lindgren via TKO (Kick & Punches)

Lindgren took the first round in this contest that was a very evenly matched fight as the play by play guys were calling it. Both guys were landing shots with Lindgren coming out as the slightly more aggressive dance partner but Shigemasa landing a better percentage and conserving his energy better as a result.

Moving into the second round that accuracy, and a slightly more varied attack as Shigemasa was also sending the feet in there now and then, seemed to take over and was turning the tide in Shigemasa’s direction. In a fight that was staying on the feet and primarily staying a cut and dry, run of the mill boxing match, these two were really just going out there and seeing who could stay more focused and get the better of the other in a drawn out contest! Shigemasa got that round with solid striking and counters…and we went into the third with it all even, 19-19, although Lindgren was starting to show signs of fatigue…

The third round started, and Shigemasa must have gotten the call from his corner to come out looking to finish, as this was the knockdown straight from the bell…!

Shigemasa lands a big uppercut and Lindgren crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lindgren looks OK. Shigemasa waves Lindgren back to his feet!

With Lingren back on the feet, the two circled for a bit, but Shigemasa was clearly focused on finishing…and then this one flew…perhaps KO of the Night material…?

The fighters circle, before Shigemasa throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Lindgren's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Shigemasa lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

So, what do you say Donkey...?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

An awfully close fight right up to the point where Lindgren gassed out and it became open hunting season for Shigemasa! With almost a full round to go still it was a tough position for Lindgren to be in and clearly he’d been depending upon ending the fight earlier as his cardio evidently wasn’t up to the task to last for the full three rounds against a capable striker on the other side of the cage. For Shigemasa, a solid win in his Sucker Punch debut moves him to a great start to the career at 2-0!

*********

Undercard Bout #5: Middleweights

Kirill Krasnov Defeats Ibrahim Volkov via Submission (Armbar)

If you blinked folks, you missed this super fast finish! Volkov is a very, very good boxer with knockout capability. But that’s not how this one ended! See, tricked ya there didn’t I, Donkey? No? Well, I tried…and you’re no fun btw.

As we said, Volkov is an excellent boxer. But…historically he has preferred to take his opponents down and then work a brutal ground and pound. That plan may have had some holes in it in this one, ya think Donkey? Easy for me to say after the fact right? Well, after a few offerings from both fighters on the feet, Volkov made the decision to score a takedown. That’s all well and good, as he ended up where he wanted to be…on top with an ability to start dropping bombs…

But…he was up against a superior ground specialist with a history of winning via submissions! Krasnov is no stranger to the ground game or necessarily being on his back, and that doesn’t make him pause much. Seconds after the takedown the impatient play by play guys commented that they could do with somebody showing some initiative as both seemed to be waiting the other out for a mistake…well, that mistake came only moments later…

Volkov throws a sloppy strike and Krasnov has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Volkov is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Krasnov!

And this one was all over! Any other thoughts there Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

A very fast finish and the fans really enjoyed this one! The big win makes it two in a row for Krasnov and has him on the right path…as well as back to even at .500 with a 5-5 record. Volkov loses his nice shiny goose egg over in the loss column and drops to 2-1, but still looks set for a great fun at Sucker Punch! Clearly, he’ll need to be more wary of those ground guys though, as this one seems to be a situation where he underestimated his opponent’s ground game.

*********

Main Card Bout #1: Featherweights

Alex Kozlovski Defeats Sorsa Lokki via TKO (Strikes)

Donkey, not to pat myself on the back, but when I made this fight I was really excited for it and felt like this one was going to be a blast! I mean, both of these guys can go at it and strike and neither will back down! There has been a preparation issue here or there in the past but I was convinced that both could come into this one and give it their best against another extremely well matched opponent for them. Sure enough, they did just that and the fans loved it!

Lokki has a ton of heart and typically when he wins it’s because he’s able to outlast the opponent, drag the thing to the distance and do enough to impress the judges along the way. He’s an active fighter who keeps picking away at you and really can make it a long, frustrating night for his opponent. That said, it’s not like he’s running away, so there’s no excuse for an opponent to whinge about it!

Kozlovski is known for some power in those hands. He’ll throw bomb after bomb and if you get caught the wrong way, god help you! The man has four TKO’s and two KO’s in his career, both KO’s via a single devastating shot that rocked his opponent’s world.

This contest started out and spent the majority of the round and a half going exactly to each’s plan. Lokki’s striking was accurate, he was mixing in the combos with it as well as the leg kicks to slow Kozlovski down…and at the same time Kozlovski was landing some heavy shots, not at the same rate of success, but they were landing and always dangerous. He was also letting those feet and legs fly, with a couple leg kicks landing. He wasn’t too worried about the takedown, so he had the luxury of going for a few of those without having to worry about a counter to the ground.

In the first minute of action, Kozlovski actually looked like he was going to end it early as he got to Lokki with a nasty body shot that had Lokki reeling and trying to breath! Lokki recovered though and the potential marathon was back on! Things were going according to plan for both men with Lokki getting the first round on points, but then…finally…Kozlovski’s dangerous shots…this time one of the two big head kicks he was going for that landed…turned this one into a “thank you sir, come again!’ moment…

Kozlovski lands a big head kick that sends Lokki to the canvas! Kozlovski follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Donkey, what else have you got for us…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Awesome fight and these two really brought it in a way that lit up the arena and got everybody going for this Main Card action! With the win, Kozlovski has won his last three and is now 7-3 overall…worthy of being up with the big boys and moving on to a serious challenge…and maybe a title shot if he can pass the test? Lokki goes to 4-7 and has been hit and miss in his last handful of fights…he’ll get a shot to turn it around again next month against Custo!

Main Card Bout #2: Featherweights

Dino Ebedi Defeats Luke Skywalker via Majority Draw

Can you believe this next one Donkey?!? I mean seriously! I knew we were trying to put together some of the best, balanced fights we could find, but a Majority Draw in the Main Card? That’s sick! Seriously! These two went at it for a full fifteen minutes, and even after all that the judges could not make a pick!

They stayed standing for the entire fight, as you’d expect from these two, with the only difference to approach being that clearly Skywalker liked and wanted to be in the clinch against Ebedi. Ebedi was the far more aggressive fighter in this contest and despite having a lower percentage of his shots landing was just about even with Skywalker overall. Clearly the judges saw it that way as well.

Surprisingly, with being the less aggressive of the two, Skywalker didn’t seem to be going for a lot of counters. Possibly something that may have cost him the extra point he needed to win this. Also, when he took it to the clinch, he was highly successful with his shots landing, but just didn’t seem to be aggressive enough and pushing the fight hard enough while in there.

On the other hand, Ebedi could have possibly changed the entire course of this fight if his elbows in the clinch were landing! He tried for eight of them, none of them finding a home, but darn, he sure was looking to make this a brutal outing for Skywalker!

Overall, a fun fight that gave the fans something to really cheer back and forth for!

Donkey, what are you thinking…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

10-10, 10-9, 10-10 first round. That’s all you need to know, this fight was that close! Crazy. Skywalker took the second with all three judges and Ebedi got the third the same way. Loved this fight! Can’t wait to see a rematch! That’s gotta come at some point doesn’t it?!?

Main Card Bout #3: Featherweights

Jack Sparrow Defeats Ramon Rabbit via Submission (Armbar)

Donkey, we were looking to see if Rabbit was ready for a title fight in this one! Putting him up against Sparrow, self-declared gatekeeper for the championship, was a test that will definitely check whether you’re ready for that shot or not!

I’m going to be very honest here. I thought Rabbit was going to pass this test. Instead, he stuffed one takedown from Sparrow…but then Sparrow was able to land it on the next attempt after taking a leg kick from Rabbit. Bad news. Sure enough, it didn’t take but a second or two for Sparrow to test Rabbit with his first sub attempt, a guillotine from the top that he just couldn’t quite lock in.

Fast forward about a minute and Sparrow was dishing out the punishment from above with some ground and pound…and apparently just dishing it out wasn’t good enough. Instead, he apparently wanted to show everybody that that last event we had, with the Championship fight going all “kick you in the beans over and over, wasn’t the only way to channel your true “Sucker Punch” abilities! So…once he got the mount, which was really bad for Rabbit, there was this sequence…

Sparrow landing punches. Sparrow lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Sparrow fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Okay Donkey, landing illegal shots is one thing! Doing it with the elbows is just almost deadly wrong! I cannot approve of such behavior as the one in charge of this org!... (But I really do Donkey, I really do!) And then he did it again…!

Sparrow is landing with some decent strikes but Rabbit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Sparrow lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

A bit more ground and pound is an understatement, and insinuating that Rabbit was trying to advance his position is about as far off as possible, as he never really made a big attempt to get out of trouble. I’m not sure if that is because Sparrow was fully controlling the situation or what, but Rabbit seemed almost helpless down there, which is strange for a wrestler. For the next minute and Rabbit was really in a bad way…and then the end mercifully came for him…

Sparrow fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there! Sparrow quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sparrow but it's paid off and Rabbit is forced to tap! Nice work by Sparrow.

Donkey, what can you add…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

A fight we thought Rabbit could win and with that win propel himself into a championship fight. Unfortunately, this thing was all one-sided with Sparrow dominating from start to finish! With this, Sparrow goes to 13-1 and I know you’ve been trying to talk him into taking a shot at the title. Hell, several of the managers of fighters at the upper end of this division have also questioned why he hasn’t been given, or taken, that shot yet as well! Maybe soon? The limitation for Rabbit is now clear. He’ll struggle to step up into a tier that is Top Contender capable until he’s able to round out his ground defense. His last four losses have all come via submission, so I think it’s fair to say that’s where the weak spot is in the armor. The white belt just won’t be enough.

Co-Main Event

Heavyweight Championship Bout

Thoth Chontamenti vs. Boris Balkan

Ok Donkey, it’s that time! Main event time, and we’ll start thing out with our Co-Main Event that saw Thoth Chontamenti defending his belt against challenger Boris Balkan! This is an awesome matchup with both men having gone at it in the Tight Fight Spotlight, both coming in extremely confident and ready Schooners Bar for the fans!

Our very own Juice Fluffer headed into the cage to announce the fight, and here was the replay from the other night…

Juice Fluffer enters the cage…

“Ladies and gentlemen…this is the Co-Maaaain Event of the evening!”

“The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.”

“Our sponsor for this event is Shadow Warrior Nutrition.”

“Annnnnnnd Now! A fight that Sucker Punch fans around the world have been waiting for…”

“LIVE!, from Schooners Bar in Sydney, Australia…”

“Iiiiit’s TIME! FIVE rounds for the Undisputed Sucker Punch Pro Series Heavyweight Championship of the World!”

“Introducing first… to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a professional record of FIVE wins, two losses and NO draws, he stands 207 centimeters tall, normally weighing in at 260 pounds. He’s 21 years of age, from Сибир, Russia and fighting out of Amsterdam, Netherlands…the CHALLENGER and TOP CONTENDER in the Sucker Punch Pro Series Heavyweight Division, Boooorissss…BALLLLLLKANNNN!!!

“And now introducing…to my right, fighting out of the red corner. With a professional record of FIVE wins, one loss and NO draws, he stands 204 centimeters tall and walks at 275 pounds. He’s 21 years of age, fighting out of your home town London, England and hailing from Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam…the REIGNING, DEFENDING, UNNNNNDISPUTED Sucker Punch Pro Series Heavyweight Champion of the World, Thoth…“Eruuuuudiiiite”…CHONNNNTAMENTIIIII!!!

And we were off Donkey! Time to see this big man, and he is a big dude at 275 pounds, to see this man Chontamenti still be so accomplished on the ground! Or so we thought! Thoth clearly came into this fight with a plan to switch things up a little bit and keep all the hyenas out there who may be hoping to steal his belt guessing! This line right here was indicative of his plan for this fight, as Chontamenti clearly had a preference to take this one to the clinch…

I was talking to Chontamenti's coach pre-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the run-up to this fight.

He went to the clinch early in the first. And it stayed there pretty much through most of the round. Balkan clearly wasn’t as comfortable there, being put back on defense and trying his best to control the action and not take too much damage. Chontamenti’s shots within the clinch were landing at an alarming rate though, about 75% of the time to the head and, while to a lower percentage, abusing the body as well!

Balkan managed to survive the first and send it to the second…where he was able to keep some separation for a bit…trading a few shots here and there but honestly losing the exchanges as well especially with Chontamenti’s feet doing a number on his legs. Chontamenti got it back to the clinch again though later in the second and from there the same sort of up close and personal form of abuse returned.

The third saw the fight immediately taken to the clinch by Chontamenti…hell, it felt like it got there before the bell even rang!...and this was obviously not a good sign for Balkan as he’d been unable to escape it in the prior two rounds, unable to defend himself in it fully, and the damage was starting to add up eating away at his reserves and stamina, taking a toll on the mind and body! Two minutes went by and finally a short but strong uppercut rocked Balkan…and with his opponent on wobbly legs Chontamenti could sense the opportunity, going to the body repeatedly with shot after shot…before loading up for the final bit one…

Chontamenti dips a shoulder and cracks Balkan with a mighty uppercut! Balkan falls back against the cage and Chontamenti unloads with a barrage of strikes! Balkan is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Chontamenti screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

And in came Juice Fluffer to make the call here…

“Ladies and gentlemen, after two minutes and thirty-five seconds of the second round, the referee has called a stop to this fight…”

“Declaring the winner…by way of a Technical Knockout…ANNNNNNDDDD STILLLLLLL…Sucker Punch Pro Series…Undisputed…Heavyweight Champion of the World… Thoth…“Eruuuuudiiiite”…CHONNNNTAMENTIIIII!!!

There it is Donkey! Two successful title defenses!!! The sign of a sure champion, one who can not only win the belt, but defend the belt…time after time!

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Wow, that was a fun one, and boy, did Chontamenti surprise us with NOT going to the ground in this fight! I mean, it kinda takes a huge set of balls to be a champion, be defending that coveted belt, and NOT go with what has worked and gotten you there up to that point, instead trusting in your camp, your training and your discussed strategy to go out there and blind-side your opponent! Nicely done, beautiful planning and strategy! For Balkan, a chance to see what’s at this level waiting, but not the night he was hoping for. He takes his first loss here at Sucker Punch and goes to 5-3 career, but likely will be back and stronger than ever as soon as he has a chance to review what happened here, make adjustments and get back on the road to redemption!

Main Event

Welterweight Championship Bout

Ronnie Bass vs. Konrad Wagner

And here we go, the MAIN EVENT Donkey! We’ve got two big time strikers here with established and proven Champion Ronnie Bass and up and coming spirited youngster Konrad Wagner! These two have been chomping at the bit and from what I’ve been told, there was a bit of a heated exchange regarding an interview that came out post-fight that may or may not have accurately represented Ronnie Bass…so he’s going to get his chance to clear the air at some point. In the meantime, these two had a few things to work out in the cage, at least for now…although I’m hearing grumblings that there’s going to be a bit more “therapy” needed to truly get past this one…

But before we get too much further into it, let’s go back and hear the call from our own Juice Fluffer…

3d8a168f5f8ff8e520307ef15bdabf4c.png

Juice Fluffer enters the cage…

“Ladies and gentlemen…this is the Maaaain Event of the evening!”

“The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and Topper Green.”

“Our sponsor for this event is Shadow Warrior Nutrition.”

“Annnnnnnd Now! The moment Sucker Punch Pro Series fans around the world have been waiting for!”

“LIVE!, from Schooners Bar in Sydney, Australia…”

“Iiiiit’s TIME! FIVE rounds for the Undisputed Sucker Punch Pro Series Welterweight Championship of the World!”

“Introducing first…to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With professional record of FIVE wins, NO losses and NO draws, he stands 181 centimeters tall, walking at 173 pounds and 20 years of age, representing the Berlin, Germany and fighting out of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States…the WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION TOP CONTENDER and CHALLENGER, “Doctor Drillkiccccck”…Konnnnradddd….WAAAAGNERRR!!!

“And now introducing…to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With professional record of SEVEN wins, NO losses and NO draws, he stands 177 centimeters tall, weighing normally at 177 pounds and 21 years of age, representing the Alexandria, Virginia and fighting out of New York, United States…the UNDEFEATEDUNDISPUTEDSucker Punch Welterweight Cockshot Sorter Series CHAMPION of the WORLD, Kick Yo Asssss, Ronnnnnnniiiiiiiie…..BAAAAAAASSSS!!!

And we were off folks!!!

Ronnie Bass had never had a fight go past the first round before folks! Hell, most of his fights barely make it past two minutes! This fight saw Bass come out extremely aggressive, I mean, firing them off at an extremely high rate…clearly he was looking to make short work of this one as well! Unfortunately for the champ, Wagner came in with what seemed to be a concerted and determined effort to sit back and let the fight come to him, using the counter effectively and planning to conserve his energy.

Bass won the first round as this fight stayed, naturally, on the feet with the two boxing. Well, Bass was boxing, Wagner was kickboxing, with shots to the legs and body being a common theme in trying to gas Bass and slow him down. Bass won that first round, as we said, but in the process he was landing only about 20% of his shots, something that was bound to start catching up with him if this fight went too long.

Second round came, and more of the same…again, with his aggressiveness and determination to take the fight to Wagner, Bass was able to win the round with the judges, at least according to the play by play guys. About three and a half into that round, this happened…

Bass cracks Wagner with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at each other and high-five before getting back down to business.

Frankly Donkey, I don’t believe for a second that Bass would be the type to give somebody a cool high-five voluntarily! A high-five to the face maybe, but…anyways…

The third round arrives and with the bell these two were back at it. Again, Bass attacking and Wagner using the counter and defense to pace himself. Bass was definitely winning this fight, and clearly would have either eventually finished it, or won easily on the cards with the judges…but then…we noticed Bass started to look a bit gassed... and also that Wagner was landing more of those counters, and even starting to get a little aggressive with the uppercuts.

Just about a minute and a half into the round…

Bass throws a right hand that misses and Wagner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bass is rocked!

And not more than twenty seconds later…

Bass throws an ugly left hook that misses and Wagner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Oh Bass is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Bass connects with a body shot that sends Wagner's belly button to the back.

Clearly those shots were getting to Bass, but at the same time, this man does NOT back down and is determined to give as well as he gets! You rock and stumble this man, well, he’ll punch right through you in return! But you can be as determined as you want to be…eventually though, if you’re gassed, you’re gassed, and without having been able to find a way to put Wagner down to this point, Bass was feeling it, losing focus…and that’s when bad things happen. Like this…

Wagner and Bass are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Wagner throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Bass into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Wagner knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Juice Fluffer enters as the referee has both fighters in the middle of the cage…

“Ladies and gentlemen, after two minutes and seven seconds of the third round, the referee has called a stop to this fight…”

“Declaring the winner…by way of a Knockouuuut…ANNNNNNDDDD NEWWWWWW…Sucker Punch Pro Series…Undisputed…Welterweight Champion of the World… Konnnnradddd….WAAAAGNERRR!!!

WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION DONKEY! Can you believe that? The kid has done it, taken out one of the baddest ass fighters in the org, one who was undefeated and deserving of the belt…and damn, if he didn’t come in and find a way to outlast him to grab that belt!

How bout it Donkey…?

Donkey’s Takeaways:

Amazing fight, these two went at it like no other! This was thrilling to watch, a true, great championship fight and very worthy of the Main Event slot on this card! Wagner went in with a strategy to play defense, counter strike against an aggressive fighter, use his chin to take the punches and keep working it long enough to wear the champ down…and sure enough, it worked to perfection. But…and this is a big but…if his gamble that Bass would eventually become susceptible to the big KO due to fatigue or otherwise hadn’t paid off…he was going to lose this fight to a decision, that much is for sure…as Bass was certainly the aggressor and had easily scored more points in the fight. That’s obviously going to leave Bass wanting his payback for this one!

*********

So there we have it Sucker Punch fans!

Great night of fights, I was thrilled to be there and I hope all 7,000 fans in attendance had as good a time as we did! Now we move on to our next big card tomorrow night, and I know one thing Donkey, I’ll be there and ready! So will you! And hopefully, so will the Sucker Punch Nation of Fans!

Till then…remember…

Keep it cheap and dirty…Sucker Punch Pro Series 355k+ style!
