Ranking the TUF Cast

Recommended Posts

How would you guys rank the latest TUF cast?

Looks pretty shocking overall...

Here's mine (ranked based on likelihood of winning):

Good:

1) Krause (D) - clearly the star of the season

2) Nuñez (G) - looks like a decent prospect, great wrestler

Quite good:

3) Hassan (G) - big powerhouse

4) Gordon (G) - big powerhouse

Average:

5) Taylor (D) - been subbed 13 times out of 14 losses but his biggest threat Krause is in the same team as him so could avoid this until the final. Edwards could sub him but is a lot weaker so Taylor should survive.

6) Baghdad (G) - a bit too weak for the weight class but excellent striker

7) Nijem (D) - probably sentimental, but had some decent wins

8) Smith (D) - won the first round, didn't look great but can probably take down & wrestle fuck the majority of the cast

Shit:

9) Edwards (G) - good BJJ, not much else...

10) Lima (D) - horrible chin & likely to face Hassan, Gordon or Baghdad, scary!

Shocking:

11) Stevenson (D) - probably sentimental

12) Gallichio (D) - can't stand this guy

13) Lane (G) - useless

14) Baczynski (G) - lost first round, almost zero chance of getting wild card, probably would've placed him in bottom

3 regardless

I would have picked Gilbert Smith as one of my top picks from the beginning. I was upset because I really like Seth too and hated seeing them have to fight so early.

I've always thought Gilbert Smith was a sleeper.. I know he's not elite but he can do well if he keeps the right mindset and doesn't quit even if he doesn't win the show

My top 3 picks would have been Krause, Nijem and probably Hassan. I made those picks while they were choosing teams in the first epi, Gordon was one of the only one's I didnt even recognize so I wouldnt have chosen him and Seth was probably the worst 1st pick/1st fight option in the history of TUF lol.

Yeah my team has Krause, Hassan, Nuñez, Nijem, Edwards, Gallichio and Baczynski (in that order)

I thought Krause looked pretty poor to be honest. Once he had his guy hurt he moved through the gears for the finish but before that I didn't think much of him. Maybe I'm judging him unfairly because he's supposed to be the guy that wins the show but I just didn't see much that suggests he will.

I agree with jeff on this. Krause looked awful. He's kicks don't look natural. He looked sluggish and if he was fighting a middleweight he was getting knocked out.

I'm really rooting for JT Money. I know he fucked it up last time but dude has paid his dues and deserves his shot.

The more I watch the more I dislike Cody and like TJ. But as a fighter I like Cody more.

Torn on who I want to win. I just want one of them to fight Migty Mouse at 125.

I didnt think Krause looked bad at all. He had a quicker guy charging at him and trying to make the fight a brawl. Krause got hit a few times early, but found the range about halfway through the fight and was able to avoid most of the strikes. Very few punches were landing clean due to Krause getting his head out of the way. Krause was patient and let nunez slow down a bit before he started trying to get offense in. The kicks didnt look great because he had a guy practically charging him, very hard to land a good kick in those circumstances.

I don't know who could possibly beat him on the show, not a lot of talent on this season. Maybe Taylor can take him down both rounds and keep it there. But I think he'd gas out plus he is easily submitted and has an iffy chin.

Even watching him in the pre fight camp he's kicks look awkward. Can't really explain it but they didn't look natural. Still stick by the disappointment in him. I've not seen him fight in the ufc so my expectations were higher.

The guy he fought wasn't up to much neither and that makes it a bit worse.

Would have like to have seen Krause fight Baghdad instead to judge really.

Just my opinion.

I've always seen the main coaches go at it but never the other coaches, this Dillashaw leaving Team Alpha Male thing runs deep...
