TWW News

Hi guys Tim here with another edition of TWW news. This week in the Tycoon World we have a huge story regarding Scott Davies. We also go to the debate desk with Stephen BS and Skip Clueless as they discuss the legacy of Otso Jokinen. We have the risers and fallers in the tycoon world and also the rising stars section so lets get to the new exlusive breaking news we have first.

IS SCOTT DAVIES A SHADY GUY?

We at TWW news were shocked to the core with this scandal that has recently came about. Cage Wars Hilo owner Cliff Biff recently went on holiday and left his account to Scott. Cliff thought Scott being a long time friend of his was trustworthy enough to look after his org and make sure it runs smoothly during his time away. Little did he know that Scott would stab him in the back. When Cliff came back he noticed that fighters in his org had gone missing including a few of Scotts. He read through his messages that had been sent out about this. He noticed Scott had mailed his top fighters telling them that Cliff had quit and that they should join Ascension.

This comes at a time where Ascension is struggling for fighters. We at TWW news have noticed over the past few months that they have booked more arenas than they can fill. This was blamed on CEO Luan who promised to get these cards filled and that everything would be ok. This as we have found out is not the case with some Ascension cards having less than 10 fights on the card. So we have the motive for doing this now. Ascension is struggling to sign new talent. Now with the recent news that they could be merging with UPG? This news station feels it has to give people the story.

Cliff Biff also spilled the beans on Scott Davies selling 8mil in game cash to Steel Penn for the sum of 100 bucks. As much as this is not illegal but is frowned apon in the Tycoon Community selling game cash for real cash and not VIP. It has also cost Cliff vast sums of money to rebuild the org. So please if you have spare fighters spare a thought for Cliff and the struggles he is going through to rebuild his org.

So how do you feel about what has happened here? Has this shocked you as much as it has us at TWW News? Vote and leave your comments below.

OTSO JOKINEN BETTER THAN TONAL?

Skip Clueless - Ok lets face a few facts here first. Tonal was a legend. A great fighter who was loved by many. His record speaks for itself. 49 and 7. Still fighting at the top level at Evo. Taking superfights now and beating everyone they are to beat. Tonal only managed 35-8. Otso is clearly now ahead of Tonal in the GOAT rankings. He had a 19-0 run. Best Tonal ever had was 16-0. I think its fairly cut and dry. Otso is the GOAT of Tycoon. Not just the GOAT lightweight.

Stephen BS - Oh dear lord this is blasphemy. I cannot believe the words that are coming out of your mouth. Otso better than Tonal what the hell you smoking Skip? Otso cannot hold a candle to Tonal. Look at the guys he fought in NFC. Not exactly the top lightweights out there at the time. He ducked my boy Christian Slaughter. Tonal fought the best of the best period. Otso not so much.

Skip Clueless - So wait a minute Stephen you are saying that everyone he fought was cans? Otso ducked Slaughter it was more like Slaughter wouldn't fight in the NFC. If Slaughter really wanted that fight he would have went to the NFC. Thing is though he didn't. He never wanted that fight. We all know that and no one blames Jbomb for not. Tonal did fight some of the best i have to agree but he went out on losses. Back to back losses if i am not mistaken. He also lost to a guy named William King who need i forget to tell you lost 4 fights in a row after beating him. Tonal is no doubt a legend but Otso has surpassed him now. Pass over the torch Mr Tonal.

Stephen BS - You opened this can of worms Skip. Lets not forget Otso lost to some guys who shall we say aren't top dogs. Lets not forget he lost to guys such as Danny Power and Gomi. Both guys are reasonable fighters but should never have beaten anyone at the top. Otso yeah he has hammered more recently top of the tree fighters but his record is padded by so many mid tier fighters its unreal. He is a legend and no doubt the best Lightweight the game has ever seen but to go as far as saying he is better than Tonal? I think you have lost your mind again Skip.

FIGHTERS STOCK EXCHANGE

Michael Patton - Opa now has the two top LW's in the game. Patton has been in the shadow of Otso in his career but has now made a stake to try and become the #1 Lightweight. The former 135 and 145 pounder could move down a division or up a division to try and claim the top spot since a fight with Otso is out the window. For now though he is the gate keeper in Evo to get a shot at Otso.

Samor Kanen - Another top LHW from the Karter camp. Who recently enjoyed a win against the GAMMA LHW Champion. Its a long standing tradition for Convicted guys to beatdown GAMMA champions and this is another case of this. Kanen is a champion in his own right at Vendetta. The knock out artist next opponent is yet to be announced but no doubt will be against another top 10 LHW.

Kostas Charalabous - Not exactly changed his stock but its worth noting this top 10 fighter. With a record of 23-3 with 20 knock outs he is not to be taken lightly. Now in the prime of his career he is kicking ass and taking names. With a very impressive knock out of Dante it appears Kostas could take it to another level. He still have a few years left in the tank and he is one we will be watching closely for next year.

Instead of fighters on the decline we have decided to show fights to look forward to in the next week.

Daniel Speed vs Smokudju Womba

Two of the top LHW's go toe to toe as we see Speed take on Womba. Speed has been highly regarded by many of the pundits and fighters a like as the next big thing in the LHW division. After losing his first fight in Evo to Ryo Narushima, Speed looks to beat the man who beat the man by defeating Womba. Womba who recently got his red belt from the ganja smokers of Algeria will be hoping its another day at the office. Score the takedown, get the guy in his guard and throw up submissions at the rate of knots. The winner of this fight secures the #1 spot at LHW. Maybe a future fight with Ascension LHW champion al Din awaits? For Speed it looks like he will be entering the 5mil tourney.

Taj al Din vs AJ Hearts

All the LHW's are on show this week. This is a case of the #2 and #3 LHW squaring off. Its a classic striker vs grappler match up with both guys having great chins but it is Taj with the KO power. It is also Taj out looking to avenge his falling team mate Moses Diggs. It will be a battle of where it takes place. Many feel as though that al Din will be able to break Hearts jaw. The fight takes place in SPFT on the 19th. It is one to have spoilered and sit back and enjoy the action.

The Rising Stars

This week we are gonna take a look at the top 3 up and comers from the ITFL 2.

James Burke - The Middleweight/Welterweight is a perfect 4-0 in the ITFL this year. Not the most highly skilled fighter for his age but makes up for it with slick submissions and some great gameplanning. It also helps when you are blessed by the Gods and have a chin made of granite. Has not really shown much power this far of his career but when you can dominate like him then why else would you need to do anything else?

Colin Croft - A light heavyweight by trade and a perfect build. With the skills, chin and power he looks like a real force in the ITFL. Now 6-0 in his career could go undefeated in the ITFL. So far he has yet to really face a test in the ITFL apart from Zell Griever the only man he has not finished in his career. As the tourney continues he will face tougher opponents but at the moment he looks like the man to beat.

Tigran Badoyan - The biggest man in our power 3. The heavy handed brawler is a perfect 4-0 also in the ITFL and 8-1 in his career so far making him the most accomplished fighter out of all of our guys here tonight. Tigran will be a force because of his weight and power could crack some of these smaller granite chinned fighters which will be interesting to see if he can do that. The ITFL will be showcasing some of the top young fighters out there but tonight we only have time for 3.

We also have to put out tonight that the Gale Hawthorne investigators have came up trumps. Sadly we cannot report on this as it is a lot bigger than we originally thought. We thought he was just CBD'in it. Turns out it could be a lot worse.

excellent stuff, again.

fine, i'll put emotion aside here and admit...finally, otso is the greatest lightweight fighter the world has seen. yes, he was the most protected fighter, the best "fed" fighter and one of the most over-inflated fighters for a long time...but his recent actions (perhaps spurned by my charges?) cannot be denied. the dude is great.

but tonal...he's the greatest fighter of all time, right in front of jigoro kane...barely in front.

that shit wit davies is fukn crazy tho! did he think no one would find out? assuming it's true and i'm sure he'll have some reasoning behind it all...they always do.

I got permission from Cliff Biff to use the story he didn't pm me about it. i asked about the tycoon olympics and he told me about why he couldn't turns out to be this. i asked to use it he said yeah.

I really like you Jason and dunno what complications you had with Max, but I think that's been talked about enough.

But while I was in NFC, I saw Otso beat the BEST guys in the game at the current time. Don't know if he's better than Tonal so no comments there..

But imagine this, Otso has fought 56 times in his career, 46 of these fights MAJOR organizations (NFC, EVO etc), that is unheard of.

I'm pretty shocked, I don't know how Davies thought he would get away with this kind of behavior. I really hope this is untrue or maybe an exaggeration. I'm hoping Davies has an explanation of some sort.

nfc, for a good portion of those fights, was no more a MAJOR org than GAMMA was for tonal. not to mention, tonal's manager stopped playing the game, or at least stopped taking fights so just imagine what he could have done had he kept going? could easily be at 56 fights.

but sure, if y'all don't want me to speak on it anymore, i won't. i didn't bring it up, this article was not my idea and i was very surprised to see slaughter's name mentioned. in fact, my original post was not intended to be a dig at otso (for once).

Well, first of all I'm here to give my version of the facts. Regarding having booked more cards, it was something done when the roster was very full and we had to book the cards in advance as many orgs were booking events for the LA Arena (They even had to create another mega arena in London to make sure all orgs could host events in those giant arenas. As you can see LA is fully booked for most of the end of the year so nothing wrong in that). Then we got some problems that Dino know because I talked about that to him and it seems to me that he simply threw that away without exactly explaining that part. With that being said, that's the only part I know about these stories.

Regarding Scott Davies, I honestly never had no problem with him. Always a great guy and he was the one that asked me to move to Geezers Palace when No Exit closed and he asked me to move over to Ascension when he got it offered to him. I was glad to receive such opportunity and joined him. I have nothing else but respect for what he did to me. If he really did those things that were said, I'm shocked and surprised as many of you guys are. I'm also waiting to see what he has to say and until proven guilty, I'm here to support him as a bud I have in the game. If proven guilty or if he admits anything, then it's a huge shame. I'll wait the outcome of this situation to decide what's next. I have no problem in leaving the organization if continues like that or maybe something else.

Thanks for the attention.

Actually i didn't mention it because it was false. when you booked the arena's the first one i got from Scott was saying you would get them filled. second time he said it was booked when you had a larger roster. To my knowledge Ascension has not had a 150 fighter roster since we merged in DFC or Eminance. It takes at least 150 to run 3 events per week, even Evo is struggling to keep up with them.

How can you say something I did is false? Were you there to see it? Yeah, I told Scott we would fill them because we still had a good number but then it got a little bit smaller and then it's when he 2/3 cards coming up that weren't very filled so we struggled with those. Including the only event we had 9 fights. Just one. The last 3 we had no problem booking them early and the only problem was if someone didn't reply to fight offer and left the fight hanging. We had 3 events planned for 2 week span and then we had to book a couple more to guarantee the arena. I have no problem in admitting that maybe we should have waited a bit more to book them as we're doing now, but you can see that we had Ascension + IMMA + EMPIRE (When they merged it became a bit easier as it was one org only booking events) + SPFT starting to book some events there + GAMMA sometimes + Syn starting to come back.

There is no shame at all in admtting you were a bit too ambitious with the events, my alarm bell was ringing right away there and i expressed that... but that's what i like about the current team, high motivation and team work - and i proudly can say i saw all the great owners coming and going... although this for sure makes stuff harder sometimes, an org just works best when there is one mastermind behind it who has all ties in his hand.

That being said... i did not know Scott before really, but he always was very generous when it comes to Ascension in every way... and never played the boss somehow, gave a big part of the resposibilities away, put big trust in all the invovled guys, always made sure everyone brings in his view/opinion.

Also, he never was really pragmatic when it comes to matchmaking and org decisions, superfights and what not... not always to his benefit looking at plain numbers, but when it comes to the feeling in the stomache for sure. So yeah, IF this is true this would be a huge surprise for me, damn, that would be so sad.

I know such stuff is always the salt in the soup in forum for many, but as JLP said it already, let him tell his side of the story first... before, you know, good old pitchforks and stuff.

I got two different answers for the same question. So one of them are false. Simple math when i get two stories from the same person about the same thing i tend to just take it as i see it. Just over reaching. Its no big deal i know the fact you were new and eager. Its a lesson learned and i am sure you will learn from it. If anything i was giving Scott an out and a reason why he might have done it. I have sent a PM to another manager who might confirm this also.

Events were booked when he had a bigger roster than recently and then we had no problem if things stayed the same. When the roster thinned a bit, the events were still there so I can not see how both replies wouldn't reflect the truth about that. Yeah, I learned a lesson though we were in a different time those days.

Otso is the GOAT at LW and Tonal is the GOAT at LHW

Both of their records/hype have been beefed up by fighting high ranked opponents in heavier W/C's and both of their downfalls have been fighting opponents in a W/C below them. If you compare their careers, Otso's is better. Only thing Tonal has on him is the Syn tourney win.

After reading the original post on this just as it was posted and seeing that Cliff was online I messaged him to get more info if I could, basically what Dinooo has stated is exactly what Cliff also told me. This is huge but like others have stated, in some form of fairness, we should allow Scott the opportunity to tell his side of the story.

Theoretically speaking, i could imagine that, if the story is true, Scott would fully lay the org in Luan's and Jamie's (him joining in a responsible position after ONI faded was one of the cool success stories of the current Ascension run imo) hands. The guys already put much blood, sweat and tears in it and are passionate about the org, so if it goes down this way, i hope you give them a chance again.

Feel i have to explain my position a bit, i'm JUST some sort of Ascension mascot and photoshop whore lol (but also staff for a long time), not in a responsible position. Still or even especially because of that i feel responsible to step up for the guys, not just because i love the org and the history of course, but because i know they put much honest work in it and always had a good team spirit... and i can judge that because i follow the org since day 1 and also the work of the great previous owners.
