After 2 months of building up new talent, GAMMA is proud to announce that there will soon be a 205 and 265 title fights expected around mid August. It took us so long because i decided i wanted to allow fighters to build up some records and also to get to know the managers better.

Expect some news in the near future

GAMMA: Mikhail Yudovich Interview

Question#1: You have had one hell of a career already with GAMMA, going from being the greatest 185lbs fighter of the time to becoming the first ever fighter to hold titles in 2 weight divisions. What you say was your greatest moment so far?

Oh, beating Tonal definitely. I don't think anyone gave me a chance in that fight. People were still thinking about the Lewis fight just weren't paying attention to why I lost back then. I was only 195 for a 205 fight, which is asking for trouble.

Question#2: When you lost your title to Raz and then lost the first title shot against Lennon Lewis, your career seemed to be really on the rocks, but you went on a great run beating top competition to eventually win the 205lbs title, what gave you that energy to make the comeback?

Is this where I hold up a bottle of 156 Proof Recovery and smile? (156 Proof Recovery - 156 quality for only $20 - only at Proof Supplements in Sydney)

Seriously though, I deserved both of those losses. I was looking past Raz and he caught me. Then I went into the Lewis fight 10 pounds light and that just made every punch he landed hit harder. After that I knew enough to get the extra muscle to fight at 205, but what really helped is when I spoke with Khalifman. "You need a mustache!", he said. But I went even further and grew a beard!

Question#3: J Breaker is your next opponent, he has already proven himself a tough contender beating James Tonal, you have however already beaten him in the past, do you expect any surprises this time round?

He's a good fighter with a good beard, so I'm not going to look past him. I think he dyes his beard blond though. Who does that?

As for the fight itself, I know he can punch but this isn't boxing. If he doesn't have the ability to work an all-round gameplan, standup, clinch and ground, he won't beat me. Also he's never fought 5 rounds, so I wonder how he'll hold together.

Question#4: Raz Matazz has been on fire, ever since he beat you for the 185lbs title, he is currently tied with Alexander Khalifman for the longest title defense streak, do you ever consider going down to 185lbs in the future to possibly win back what was once yours?

Alex told me you would ask a question like that. You guys always want to start trouble. Right now I've got a belt to defend, and the GAMMA fans want to see me do that. If Raz wants to move up to 205, great. Otherwise he'll have to wait until I lose. It'll be a long wait.

Pound Mcgee Interview

Question#1 You recently moved up from GAMMA: Contenders, how do you think you will face against the competition in the main roster?

GAMMA was a great experience. It helped build the fighter I am today. The Contenders Org. helps to train up your fighter the way you have to due to the constant competition which helps when you move to the main roster. The competition in the main roster is exciting. Everyone's skill set seems to be developing into true top tier competition. For me I just need to focus on my training and how I wish to develop as a fighter. Whatever the competition brings, I will work hard and try and bring a solid game plan into all my fights. When my debut fight happens, you will see a trained fighter.

Question#2 Do you not think that your age will be a determent, considering you are just 19y old?

Age is never really a factor. It depends on how competent your manager is and how you approach fight training. We have been focusing on being efficient and maintaining a solid balance between improving our strengths and removing weaknesses from previous fights. You might just see a young champion among your roster in the near future.

Question#3 Your current walking weight is 170lbs, have you not considered adding a few pounds to compete against some of the larger Welter weights?

Up till now it has been positive when stepping into the cage weighting naturally at 170. Not needing to diminish cardio and having a speed advantage going into the fights has really helped with lower tier competition. However, we will be going through a bulking process soon enough as we take on the bigger competition here in GAMMA. So you will see a bigger and stronger Pound Mcgee leading into my debut fight.

Question#4 Who do you think will win in the next 170lbs title fight between Khalifman and David?

Two great fighters with excellent managers backing them. I will get straight down to it and say that you can't go past Kahlifman. Reason being, he knows how to fight the best and brings plenty of hard fought 5 rounder’s. He knows how to implement a game plan that shows the judges how to win fights. Not taking anything away from David, he’s a good fighter with a similar style to me. He was also undefeated in Syn which makes him someone not to past. However David's only loss is a hard fought decider and I believe this fight for David will show him how mentally tough you need to be to fight someone of Kahlifman's nature. My head says Kahlifman via Decision 48-47 but I hope David is going to play it aggressive and he pulls off a KO in the 1st.

Chris webster Interview

Question #1 8-0, just 20 years old and current 265lbs GAMMA champ, how does that feel?

Well it feels great there have been some tough opponents along the way and it’s been a tough journey, if you had told me when I joined GAMMA that in was only 7 fight away from being the champ no way would I have believed you. It’s all the hard work that paid off for me I stepped up my training got with a good camp and I have just kept getting better I think that showed in my fight against Hendo.

Question #2 Many people had you as the underdog vs Han, how did you manage to pull off that great upset?

Like I say it was all hard work a great camp and great strategies the guys barely been out of the first round for a long time and I knew I could ware him out with some big body blows, I would have liked to finish him in the later rounds but he’s a tough dude all credit to him for continuing to bring it throughout 25 mins

Question #3 Next fight is vs Cheez Itz, he has never lost to anyone else besides Han and you go into this fight again as the underdog, do you think you can make the upset again?

Yeah I seem to suit the underdog role this will be at least my 4th fight coming in as the so called easy win for my opponent. I haven’t managed to finish in my last two fights but Itz chin is questionable and believe me I’m going to test it and he’s going to come up short again. He’s going to have to step into that cage knowing that I beat the guy he couldn’t even get outside 15 seconds with on 2 separate occasions and yet I’m still the supposed underdog but we will just have to see come fight night wont we.

Question #4 What you think of GAMMA's decision to make it 4 rounds for the undercard fights?

I think it’s great no fighter or fan wants to see or be part of a decision we want to see guys get finished what better way than to add another 5 mins to the fight, also if it does go to a decision your going to have to be a decisive winner of 3 rounds to 1 to avoid the draw so it’s going to lead to more finishes tougher fights and more interesting rematches what more could a fan or fighter want.

Hunter "Grendel" Rose

Question #1 Hunter, your short stay in GAMMA has been impressive, winning 2 tough fights against 2 strong competitors Dwayne Hicks and Erkki Junttila, did you expect your career to start off so well for us?

I expected to compete and I expected to win, if you don't expect either then you don't belong in the cage. And getting that win over my alliance mate Hicks was the cherry on top of my three wins in the org so far.

Question #2 Your previous 5 wins came in the first round, since you have joined though 2 have went to a decision and the other well into the 2nd round, would you say the competition here is tougher?

My previous org was a new org, with new fighters and new managers. GAMMA is an established org with experienced fighters and experienced managers. So yes, the competition is definitely tougher and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Question #3 You are now up against one of the all time greatest GAMMA fighters and current 7 time defending champ Raz Matazz, what have you got to say about your opponent?

14-0 with 7 title defenses is quite impressive, but what goes up, must come down eventually.

Question #4 GAMMA has recently decided to cut down to just 1 event per week, do you think the smaller but more compact roster will help in increasing the competition?

Even the trimmed down and compact roster looks pretty full and most have winning records, so I don't see how it could hurt competition.

It took us a long time, but finally we have done it, GAMMA is now a top 20 organization!

Formed in May 2009, the road to success was not an easy one. Being a company which is not affiliated to any particular alliance and without promoting our own fighters as the main stars of the roster, getting top talent was always a challenge. Most of the current superstars were fighters which originally started very low in hype and grinded away week in week out to get to where they are today.

In spring of this year, GAMMA almost closed its doors due to the financial crisis which hit the company. Without any "sponsors" to feed us cash, we greatly relied on our own profits to stay alive. We was loosing cash every week for almost 2 months and only after most fighters agreed to a pay check cut did we manage to keep afloat.

We would like to thank all the fighters for picking GAMMA and sticking to it, without you guys this would not be possible!

Marcus Fenix Interview

Question #1 6-0, how does it feel to be Marcus Fenix?

I feel great. I have a great life, great team, great manager it doesn't get any better I think.

Question #2 You are one of the first graduates of the GAMMA: Contenders feeder league, how do you think this has helped build up your career?

Well, I wanted to start fighting bigger names from the start but my manager sat me down and showed me the way. The Contenders is a great org. They matched me up with even fighters and I got to prove myself and I did.

Question #3 Your next fight is against Ali Newman, it seems to be a tough fight, what are your chances do you feel?

I think I'm going to win. His chin has failed the test before and thats what I look to do. I also have been working on my submissions and takedowns. I might try a new plan. He does have the power to switch off the lights.

Question #4 There is a chance you could be fighting for the title next if you can land a win, at just 20 years old do you think you are ready?

I'm not looking past Ali right now.

Sammy Stone Interview

Question #1 You are on a 4 fight win streak, what can you say about your recent good run?

Styles makes fights basically, if u stand and bang with me that's whats gonna happen and i have proved that in my last 4 fights.

Question #2 Your fights rarely go past the 1st round, last time that happened was early in your career, 13 fights ago. Does this mean you lack any other skills besides your stand up?

13 fights ago i was a different fighter and i have evolved leaps and bounds to this day, my groundgame has always been under-rated since i never get to use it, but im for sure my standup is deadly and its the most polished skill that i have.

Question #3 You beat Hendo Han in the last fight, he seemed unbeatable until recently. You also went through a bad patch of results, lost 3 in a row, do you think Han can make a similar comeback?

Yes i really do , i believe he can come back and be even better then he was before . I do think that he needs to rethink his training and his way of fighting maybe add something new or just sharpen the skills he already have to use them more efficient . This was his second loss in a row and i think everyone knows what he does best so it was just a matter of time before people started to train to prevent it . He needs some sort of a secret weapon , coming into the fight against Hendo i knew what he was going to do just as he did in all his fights so it was easy to counter.

Question #4 You will be fighting Chris Webster for the title next, he has been possibly the biggest surprise package in GAMMA history, what do you think of your opponent?

I feel that we are very similar , both likes standup he being more to MT and me to Boxing . Dont think this fight will end up on the ground , i think he wants to stand up with me and believes his MT will overcome my boxing . I'm going into this fight to finish him , i don't want a decision win i want to stop people in their tracks just like i was the first to really stop Hendo . Webster beat Hendo by decision i however ended the fight in the 1st round and that's how i fight and that's what i will show everyone when me and Webster step into the cage to do battle .

Over the past couple of weeks, 3 of our current champions Raz Matazz, Mikhail Yudovich, Alexander Khalifman all resigned new contracts which will see them continue their careers with GAMMA until August 2011. This is huge news for GAMMA which only recently made it to the top 20 in the world rankings, with highest ranking so far being #14.

a lot of work and negotiations are also in place at the moment to bring in some big names to bolster our already highly talented roster, stay tuned for more news in the near future......

Alan Bundy Interview

#1 You spent your early days fighting out of LA, then moved to Las Vegas, why did you make the change?

I love LA. My family is there and I was happy fighting in LA orgs. But my manager is greedy and didnt want to pay extra gym fees when he had ok gym in Vegas. So he forced me to move here and train in his gym. I had low morale for some time but I guess things are looking better now. I still do eat Prozac..

#2 You only recently moved to GAMMA, why did you make the decision to join?

My manager wanted me to get in smaller org where I could be champ however he got a great offer from GAMMA and got greedy..

#3 You are up against Jack Burton in your first fight, he has been in GAMMA for some time and is considered a seasoned veteran, however many have you as the favorite, what do you think?

I have fought really though guys before. Lost some, won some. Burton seems to be one of those guys that are good in all areas. And he really is though. But I have really been training my stand up skills and I have solid ground game as well. I just think that this is going to be great fight. I just hope that my manager allows me to fight with my strenghts.

#4 Your next fight is considered to be the top contenders fight, assuming you win, do you think you can take on the winner of the Khalifman vs David fight?

I think i can win anyone in my weight division, I would love to fight Khalifman for the title.

Zig Ziglar Interview

#1 Back in GAMMA after a short stint in EUFC, how does it feel to be back?

Zig: Feels great, had a good time when i was here in the past, won all my fights besides one (draw) so glad to be putting on a good show for the fans

#2 You won your last fight against Jonas Hansson, who would you like to fight next?

Zig: I do not really mind, whoever the boss wants i am up to the challenge, was never one of those to hand pick fights

#3 Although you have never been stopped, you did loose 2 fights, why do you think so?

Zig: Mainly it was due to my stand up skills, i could not finish it standing, that has now changed since i joined the Blood Gym, which specialises on stand up

#4 The 265lbs division is very packed at the momment, with the title changing hands a lot, who you think will win the next bout?

Zig: Han is the ex-champ and the guy which made Itz look really bad in their 2 fights, however i think Stone has the stand up advantage in this one and did win their first fight, but it should be pretty close.

After a great run, Shawn Skaggs has stepped down from his position as General Manager of GAMMA: Contenders.

George Nehi, which was previously the assistant manager has taken over. This will be the 3rd person to take over GAMMA: Contenders after originally being founded by Leroy Kensington back in Spring 2010.

We wish Shawn the best of luck in his future endeavors and prosperity to George in his new role.

Recently we had an interview with Tycoon daily, the premier MMA Tycoon fan-site, here is how the interview went:

We are here with GAMMA, a veteran organization that has been around a while and is one of the top orgs in the game.

First off, you are one of the best and oldest organizations in the game today, what is different from the mma world today then when it first started, game wise?

Quite a lot has changed, starting with the salaries. When I started GAMMA back in May 2009 500\1000\500 was considered a great contract, these days people reject 10x that. There is obviously a lot more competition now, starting a new org is a huge amount of work and actually competing is even more difficult.

As far as fighting goes, stand up has now taken over, when it all started it was more about BJJ and early quick submissions, these days with the good wrestling and takedown D, usually it is down to who can win the standup.

You only have 4 weight divisions, but they are very deep, is there any reason for so few divisions?

a lot of orgs struggle to keep a good competitive roster and have just 10-15 fighters max per division, which gives you less rotation, I prefer to keep it very competitive, so by having fewer divisions it means more options. I was considering having a 155lbs division or a 265+ one, however there is nowhere near the talent pool in those 2 weight classes, so I focused on just these 4.

We recently did an interview with one of your champions, Raz Matazz, what are your thoughts on the champions in GAMMA?

Raz is a thug, on a fantastic run and one of the top 10 fighters in his division worldwide, he has been with us for a long time now and the fans love him here in GAMMA. He has overwhelmed everyone which was offered to him so far, hard to see him losing his crown anytime soon, however you never know in MMA.

Mikhail Yudovich and Alexander Khalifman are both managed by Grund McGrunderson, probably the all time top manager in terms of wins and title reigns.

Mikhail is the only person to hold 2 titles in GAMMA (185 and 205) and on another dominating run, he did lose his title to Raz, however without a doubt he is an all time great for us. His win over Tonal to win the title is probably one of the biggest upsets ever in GAMMA.

Alexander is the equivalent of Raz but for the 170lbs division, he has beaten up everyone in his path so far and currently looks untouchable. We do have some top talent coming up the ranks though, but they need 1-2 wins before they can compete.

Sammy Stone is our most recent champion; he beat both Hendo Han and then Chris Webster to win the title and has the rematch with Hendo up next. He is already an experienced fighter at just 22 years old with 17 fights under his belt, but the 265lbs division was always the most competitive, nobody has held the title for more than 3 defenses, I think Stone could break that tradition.

What are some things you look for when you are looking to sign a fighter?

Various things, obviously their hype, record and history are major factors, however I usually stick with reliable VIP managers or people I have done business with in the past. I try to avoid inexperienced managers or young fighters which are on a short winning streak; they would never be able to compete in GAMMA anyway.

With such deep divisions, who are some of the up and coming guys that the mma world should look out for?

It is REALLY tough to mention just one fighter or in fact 5-6 of them, as you said our divisions are very deep and virtually anyone can be the new superstar. Besides that our fighters are young, everyone is under 28 years old, most under 25, so they are still developing.

GAMMA is one of a few companies with a feeder organization, yours being GAMMA Contenders, how important is it to have a feeder organization?

There have been a few good fighters which have joined us from GAMMA Contenders, it still needs time though, but I am confident in getting more out of our feeder league in the future.

Will GAMMA ever have its own personal Hall of Fame? If yes, who are some possible fighters that we could see in GAMMA's HoF?

Sure we will, we did not make one so far because none of our top fighters have retired. I know some orgs have made a HOF very early to attract attention and congratulate their stars; however inducting a 22 year old with 10 wins into your HOF makes no sense to me. Give it another year; we should have the first inductees by then.

Thank you again for answering our questions. Is there anything else you would like to tell the GAMMA and mma fans?

I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in our success so far, the list is huge and to be honest I do not know from whom to start with, most of the fighters managed in GAMMA are top class, thanks to you guys and keep it up.

To the rest, if you have a top talent and want an unbiased, non-alliance orientated place to compete, then welcome to GAMMA!

Loka Shawn Interview [ 45665 ]

Question #1: You've had a pretty decent career for GAMMA so far, with the exception of a couple of looses early on in your career to the same guy and one against Carter Pewterschmidt more recently, your record is close to perfect, are you happy with your achievements so far?

I am very happy with my career so far, I try to fight entertaining and finish my fights. I have lost to decision 3 times and all of those loses haunts me. Especially the two loses to Phillip Merki. these three losses have shown me what I lack in my groundgame, and I have been working hard on takedown defensenes and defensive grappling lately.

Question #2: Your last 6 wins have all come in the form of TKO\KO, would you say your stand up skills are far more superior than your ground game?

I love a good brawl, and prefer to keep my matches standing, I even enjoy taking a couple of punches to my nose. But I need to focus more on my groundgame. And I am improving a lot with the help of the trainers on €LIT€ CΘMßAT SYST€MS.

Question #3: Next you have Joe Thompson, a fighter which has a lot more experience than yourself and is also an ex-IGR champion, making his debut in GAMMA, do you think his chances of winning are better?

I think this is going to be an open battle, and I am really looking forward to standing toe to toe with Thompson. But my right hand is no joke and I will turn his lights of in the first round. No disrespect to Thompson.

Question #4: A win in the next fight could even put you in contention for the title, would you be ready to take on Raz Matazz?

I am ready to take on whoever Gamma wants me to fight. And it would be great fun to fight Raz.

Can Stroud Interview

Question #1 You have had 18 fights in GAMMA, one of the longest standing members, however at still 24y do you think the best is still to come?

Oh definitely. I didn't have the opportunity to get top training and be eased into fighting, I was thrown into the cage as soon as I set foot in Vegas. I've got to rely on what I have learned in those 18 fights to take down these other fighters who on paper may look like they are the better fighter.

Question #2 Which would you say was the most difficult fighter you have fought so far?

Hard to point at one fighter and single them out. Both of my last two opponents were very difficult to prepare for but for different reasons. Doug Davis is a very technical striker, he will try to pick you apart every second you are trading blows with him. Mikhail Yudovich just flat out has raw power. When he hits you, your momma feels it.

Question #3 With 11 100% rated fights, you are the most exciting fighter in GAMMA's history, would you say you are a crowd pleaser?

You could say my fighting style is a crowd favorite but some of those fights ended with me face down on the mat. I would love to say it is my raw animal magnetism that drives the ladies in attendance wild but let's face it, I am in that cage facing off against someone else who wants to rip my head off. It takes two fighters to get the crowd pumped up, they don't cheer for me alone.

Question #4 Yudovich is up against Nosla for the next 205lbs title defense, do you think Nosla can upset the current champion?

At this level anyone can beat anyone else on any given night. I haven't had the pleasure of fighting Nolsa myself but as a fellow Muay Thai practitioner I have to say he has some pretty sick head kicks and an impressive list of KO victims. That being said, and nothing against him, my money is on Yudovich.

GAMMA broke 2 of their previous records on the same night! For GAMMA#157 Yudovich v Nosla, in a fight which saw Yudovich retain his title with a 2nd round TKO, GAMMA surpassed their previous highest ever world ranking of #14 held since the 17th of October this year, we moved 1 place higher to #13.

Mikhail Yudovich, the star of the event and only person in GAMMA history to hold a title in 2 different weight classes, broke the record set by Raz Matazz and moved to #24 in the p4p category. Raz previously held the #25 spot.

Note: All the above was achieved while fighting with premium tickets in a small arena of 3k, our real ranking can easily be top 10.
