huge upset in division d, 0-2 richard volg beating 1-0 barry bludgeon. with this that leaves division d with kenji kozlov at 2-0 6 points, robert burner 1-2 in second with 4 points, richard volg and barry bludgeon at 3 with 1-2 and 1-1 for records, with current last place being 1-1 Piotr Maczynski with 2 points. at least everyone has points in this division now but as long as i dont lose my next 2 fights i should see kenji kozlov making it to the knockout rounds.

Group A

Week 3 Results

Early Grayce defeated Gargan Morus by TKO (Strikes) at 4:22 of Round 1

With his third decisive win of this season’s group stage, Early Grayce has pretty much cemented himself in a place in the knockout rounds and looks extremely unlikely that anyone is going to be able to knock him off of the top spot in Group A.

Following a solid win in his season opener, Gargan Morus gave it his best shot and almost looked like pulling out the upset after knocking Grayce down with a nice combination and opening a nasty cut. Testament to Grayce’s toughness however, he bit down on his mouthpiece and started swinging back and was able to get the takedown into side control. From there is was all one way traffic with Grayce firing down heavy shots and Morus desperately trying to improve his position. After only so much of that, Grayce put the exclamation point on it with a massive elbow that ended the fight. Despite the result, Morus still remains in second place due to his quicker times during his win although he is tied with three points with both Rogerio De Souza and Blaise Cailloux whom he will meet in the next round.

Blaise Cailloux defeated Ruud Huisbrink by Submission (Kimura) at 1:46 of Round 1

After an extremely disappointing season opening in which his manager had described as “embarrassing” early favourite Balise Cailloux was able to get on the winning track with a quick submission victory over Group A struggler Ruud Huisbrink. Taking no chances of getting caught by anything the Dutch heavyweight could send out, Cailloux almost immediately secured the takedown and aggressively worked for the submission using some accurate ground and pound to soften up the prone striker. With the finish win Cailloux puts himself back right back in the mix and though currently in forth place, he is tied with three points with two other fighters, one of which he will meet in the next round of fights. For Huisbrink, this third defeat of the season surely marks the end of the road for the striker although depending on other results is may still technically be possible for him to secure a third place spot in the group and carry on into the fifth place playoffs providing he himself picks up an incredibly quick first round win in his last Group A fight in two weeks time.

Group Standings

Early Grayce (3-0 = 9pts)

Gargan Morus (1-1 = 3pts*

Rogerio De Souza (1-1 = 3pts)

Blaise Cailloux (1-1 = 3pts)

Ruud Huisbrink (0-3 = 0pts)

*Separated by time winning

Upcoming fights

Blaise Cailloux vs. Gargan Morus

A critical fourth round of fights for Group A as both Cailloiux and Morus are competing for a qualifying spot in the next round. The result of this fight will be made all the more intense as Rogerio De Souza who is also currently on three points also fights on the same night against bottom placed Ruud Huisbrink.

Rogerio De Souza vs. Ruud Huisbrink

Huisbrink must go for broke in this his last season fight and will need a spectacularly quick finish to stand any chance of moving forward in the competition. De Souza, who is making his return after a shock upset over Bliase Callioux will be fully rested after enjoying his bye week and in a good position to take a step further in this competition with a win over struggling Huisbrink.

Group B

Week 3 Results

Antoine Pierre defeated Dreamiest Panda by Submission (Guillotine) at 2:44 of Round 1

In Group B, early favourite Antoine Pierre stormed ahead to his third win of the season and defeated in decisive fashion three-hundred pound Japanese wrestler Dreamiest Panda. Before the season started this fight was highlighted as one to watch and after Panda’s impressive first round win over Violet Dawson expectations were high but on the day it was Pierre who took home the victory managing to sit through Panda’s ground and pound without much trouble and secure a guillotine submission just before the three minute mark of round 1. Now, with three wins out of three and only one more fight to go, Pierre looks all but certain to secure a place in the knockout stages.

With the loss, Panda drops down into third place behind Manager Yanic of which he will face in the next round. Qualifying for the final knockout stages is still very possible though he will need some better performances then what was on display tonight.

Manager Yanic defeated Violet Dawson by TKO (Strikes) at 2:26 of Round 1

Making his second appearance this season, Manager Yanic moved into second place in the Group B without even breaking much of a sweat. Securing an early takedown against bottom of the group Violet Dawson, Yanic proceeded to tee of on Dawson’s head from side control forcing the referee to put a stop to it after a couple of minutes of round one. Yanic, who remains undefeated with the win looks to be in a good position now though he now faces two very tough match ups to end the season.

It was always going to be a tough fight for Dawson though I’m certain Dawson’s manager would have been hoping for a little more from his fighter. Now residing in last spot with zero points after three fights, it is virtually impossible that Dawson will be able to qualify for even the fifth place play off by finishing third. Dawson’s only hope for any form of redemption will be against fellow struggler Ben Reed and that fight will take place in two weeks time.

Group Standings

Antoine Pierre (3-0 = 9pts)

Manager Yanic (2-0 = 6pts)

Dreamiest Panda (1-1 = 3pts)

Ben Reed (0-2 = 0pts)

Violet Dawson (0-3 = 0pts)

Upcoming Fights

Manager Yanic vs. Dreamiest Panda

A massive fight for both fighters but more so for Panda who will need to look at this fight as a must win in order to stand any chance of finishing in the top two spot. Yanic, now undefeated after two fights is in a very good position this round and will be able to retain his current second place spot with even a decision loss.

Ben Reed vs. Violet Dawson

With little other the pride on the line, Violet Dawson should really be looking to leave it all in the cage for this one as he makes his final appearance of the season. Fellow Group B struggler Ben Reed could still technically qualify in some capacity with a second half of the season push and it would need to start here with a big win over Dawson. Anything less than maximum points however is unlikely to be enough for even third place so this really is a crucial fight for the Australian featherweight.

Group C

Week 3 Results

Ed Wood defeated Micky Kirby by Forfeit (Micky Kirby did not sign to fight. Ed Wood awarded maximum points)

Ed Wood was in the arena all ready to go hoping that Micky Kirby would show his face at the last minute so he could pick up the maximum points the right way but it wasn’t to be and it wasn’t surprising. With numerous sightings of London based Kirby wandering the back streets of New York still and with his manager having disappeared without a trace we can only hope that all is well on the outside. Ed Wood moves into second place with the gift win though so far it wouldn’t have made very much difference at all and the second half of Wood’s season looks to be an extremely competitive one.

James Isaac Abraham defeated Zou Li by TKO (Cut) at 0:39 of Round 2

This was a big fight in Group C and an even bigger result for James Isaac Abraham who was able to pick up maximum points from Zou Li and secure a likely place in the final knockout stages. The vast majority of the round one was spent in the clinch where both fighters worked extremely hard and kept up a fantastic pace but it was the defensive skills of Abraham that was perhaps the most impressive as he avoided much of what Zou Li put out all the while managing to open Zou Li’s face with slicing shots from the inside. After a gruelling opening round and with Li’s face a mess coming into the second round Abraham was able to stay on the outside and with one final jab to undo all of the cut man’s hard work in between rounds, the doctor was called in and decided to stop the fight.

Disappointment for Zou Li who now finds himself in third place with the two points that came from his twenty minute war with Kirby and will now need maximum points from his remaining fights and for other’s in the group to slip up if he is going to qualify for the finals. His first step towards that goal will be in two weeks when he takes on second place Ed Wood.

Group Standings

James Isaac Abraham (3-0 = 9pts)

Ed Wood (2-0 = 6pts)

Zou Li (1-1 = 2pts)

Antonio Kirby (0-3 = 1pts)

Check Conga (0-2 = 0pts)

Upcoming Fights

Ed Wood vs. Zou Li

Currently sitting four points behind second place Ed Wood this really is make or break for Chinese fighter Zou Li. Even with maximum points Li will still find himself behind Wood and at the mercy of this final round of results. Wood could cement a top two place here in this fight with even a decision win so all the pressure is firmly on Zou Li

Check Conga vs. Antonio Kirby

A guarenteed three points for Conga who could strangely find himself in third place without even winning a fight if Li is unable to pick up any points at all this round. Of course Conga will need to face Li in the future so there is no possibility of qualifying for the fifth place play off without at least one true victory. Still, it is an interesting situation and surely of motivation to Conga

Group D

Week 3 Results

Richard Volg defeated Barry Bludgeon by TKO (Strikes) at 7:18 of Round 1

Another fight to watch, Richard Volg and Barry Bludgeon put on a good performance for the fans in attendance but it’s likely that very few would have predicted Richard Volg winning by TKO after suffering two straight finish losses himself. Bludgeon wasn’t completely outclassed but he did find himself peppered with stinging shots throughout the fight and was unable to pick up another KO win after his first round fight against Maczynski.

It was a great win for Volg and with it, really opens up Group D with both Volg and Bludgeon now tied with three points each. Volg of course only has one fight left this season and so to qualify for the final knockout stages he will most definitely need maximum points from that final fight as well as some results elsewhere to go his way but with only two points separating fifth and second place, anything can happen from this point on.

Barry Bludgeon now sits in third with two more fights to go. His next round fight is against undefeated group D leader Kenji Kozlov and though that will be a very tough fight, every point counts from here on out and Bludgeon will need to take it up a step or two if he is to secure a place in the finals.

Kenji Kozlov defeated Robert Burner by TKO (Punches) at 5:16 of Round 1

A big fight at the top of Group D, Robert Burner found himself removed from the top spot by early favourite Kenji Kozlov. It wasn’t the best performance from Burner who once again found himself dangerously underprepared in the clinch and this time finished in just over five minutes. Now in second place with four points and with only one fight left of his season he will be anxiously awaiting the results from the next round as he takes his bye week to prepare for his last fight against Barry Bludgeon.

As predicted, Kenji Kozlov has found his way to the top of the Group with maximum points after two fights though there is still work to be done to lock in a place in the finals in what has been a particularly competitive group so far.

Group Standings

Kenji Kozlov (2-0 = 6pts)

Robert Burner (1-2 = 4pts)

Barry Bludgeon (1-1 = 3pts)

Richard Volg (1-2 = 3pts)

Piotr Maczynski (1-1 = 2pts)

Upcoming Fights

Barry Bludgeon vs. Kenji Kozlov

With such a tightly contested Group D, Barry Bludgeon will feel desperate to pick up some points from this encounter in order to have the best possibility of qualifying for the knockout stages. A tough ask as Kozlov is currently undefeated and could assure himself a top place finish in the group with a maximum points win here.

Piotr Maczynski vs. Richard Volg

Another critical fight for both fighters as bottom place Maczynski takes on Richard Volg who has come back from a two fight losing streak only to barge his way into a qualifying position after the last round of fights. Volg will absolutely need maximum points from his final fight of the season and will then need to wait patiently in the final week of group stage fights while he takes his bye week. Maczynski, who has two fights left, could potentially jump into second place if he is able to finish Volg and if Kozlov is able to finish Bludgeon. Even if that other result doesn’t go his way, Maczynski could still find himself in a fifth place qualifying spot so long as he is able to pick up maximum points here.

I can only speak for division d since that is the one i have been heavily paying attention to, what a twist of fate going for the #2 spot to make it to the knock out round. I clinched #1 spot but after going 0-2 #2 right now is Richard Volg with 6 points and no fights left. The only one who can catch him is 4 point 1-2 robert burner and so far the only win burner has is against Richard Volg in round 2. So for me all eyes will be on the Barry Bludgeon vs Robert Burner fight. Congrats to anyone else who at this point will definately make the knockout rounds and to all of those who still need to win to get in, good luck next round.

I want to win my last fight for pride of getting 12 points but I am more interested in the other matches tonight as we will find out a bunch tonight. Gargan vs Rogerio is the most important as whoever wins that fight will make it to knockouts but we have other situations that will settle tonight giving us everyone who makes it to knockouts. If fights go right Vlog who is 2-2 after after starting 0-2 and has a bye tonight will find out if he comeback worked out in time if Burner loses fast enough tonight.

I'm really sorry guys that I didn't get round to writing something up for this last group stage round. Especially as some of the groups are really evenly contested. I'll definitely put something up tomorrow for the results and the brackets for the finals (of which I will use an online randomiser to do)

Group winners will be seeded 1st and runners up 2nd so that no group winners will face each other in the quarter finals. For the 5th place play offs it will be a straight up random draw amongst all the 3rd place fighters

Someone please check and correct me on the times but I think Barry Bludgeon was just short on the win time so Richard Vlog after going 0-2 makes his comeback to get in the knockouts. I can not wait to see what the knockout bracket is going to look like knowing that I will at the least be fighting a second place in the next round.

Richard Volg ends up second over Bludgeon as he has the victory over him. If it was time then Bludgeon would have been second as he has need the least time to win in his two victories.

I think that's the fairest way to do things though there's definitely an argument that it wasn't spelt out in the beginning. Same goes for Zou Li over Check Conga in group C for 3rd Place. Both on joint points but Li has the victory over Conga

I honestly think that is a fair tie breaker as Vlog showed how good he could be vs Bludgeon. The brackets are going to be interesting though since getting Panda round 1 is not an automatic win for anyone. I dont make the rules and i am unclear on this but i also assume we wont fight round 1 the same guy in our bracket again so it will be interesting to see how match ups pan out.

Open Weight Tournament – S01E05

It was a great ending to the group stage of the tournament and in some groups the final placings came down to the very end. Though we now say goodbye to some fighters (for now at least) we would like to take a quick moment to thank everyone for participating up to this point, especially those that probably knew they would not qualify further some weeks back but carried on their commitment regardless. Thank you very much guys.

So now, we move onto the knockout stages where a loss means elimination from the tournament. The brackets have been draw randomly (using the random.org website) and qualifing fighters can now see their path ahead. The 5th Place play off tournament has also been draw (using the same website)

Championship Knockout Stage

D1 vs. C2

C1 vs. B2

A1 vs. D2

5th Place Play Off

B3 vs. A3

D3 vs. C3

Group A – Final Standings and Group Stage Review

1st Place – Early Grayce (4-0 Season/5-0 Overall) – 12 Points

One of the predicted favourites was wrestler Early Grayce who was completely dominant in Group A as he ended the first part of his season an undefeated 4-0 and with all wins coming by first round finishes. He now moves on to the finals and will face the runner up of Group D Richard Volg

Season High – Opening season bout against potential bogeyman BJJ specialist Rogerio De Souza where Grayce made a huge statement for what was to come after finishing the Brazilian in just over one minute thirty

Season Low – Final season fight against fellow predicted favourite Blaise Cailloux. His toughest fight in that it took him almost eight minutes to defeat the Monacan fighter but still an extremely dominant performance that just goes to show how well he has been doing thus far.

2nd Place – Gargan Morus (3-1 Season/3-1 Overall) – 9 Points

Morus was predicted a 4th Place finish in Group A and will no doubt feel vindicated in proving those people wrong. Morus looked good in his three victories managing to finish all by first round TKO and his only blemish coming from a TKO loss to Early Grayce. Morus now qualifies for the finals but will face an extremely tough test in undefeated Group B winner Antoine Pierre

Season High – A tough one but it would have to be his final group stage fight against Rogerio De Souza which would serve as decider to who would qualify in second place. Morus got the quick victory and the chance to move on to the finals.

Season Low – The only blemish on Morus’ record, a TKO loss to group winner Early Grayce in a fight that Morus was looking very good in until being taken down.

3rd Place – Rogerio De Souza (2-2 Season/2-3 Overall) – 6 Points

A mixed season for BJJ specialist Rogerio De Souza who may feel disappointed in his 3rd Place finish having had his destiny in his own hands going into his final group stage fight. Still, as a fighter who was predicted to struggle in the group and finish last, two spaces above isn’t so bad. De Souza now qualifies for the 5th Place play off and will face Group B’s Manager Yanic which should be a very interesting match up indeed.

Season High - A stunning upset over early favourite Blaise Cailloux to win by first round submission in just over one minute and thirty seconds.

Season Low - Though expected to be a tough fight, De Souza will not feel good about how easily Early Grayce was able to deal with his jiu-jitsu skills.

4th Place – Blaise Callioux (1-3 Season/2-3 Overall) – 3 Points

Perhaps one of the most disappointing fighters of the season was grappler Balise Callioux who was predicted to finish top of the Group. In the end, after managing to pick up only one win out of four, Callioux finishes in 4th Place and will have to deal with the agony of an early season finish.

Season High – His sole victory against bottom placed Ruud Huisbrink in which he looked formidable with a submission win in under two minutes.

Season Low – Season opener against BJJ fighter Rogerio De Souza. An unexpected loss from an unfancied fighter really set the mood for Callioux’s overall campaign.

5th Place – Ruud Huisbrink (0-4 Season/0-4 Overall) – 0 Points

Holland’s hulking heavyweight Ruud Huisbrink was expected to fair quite a lot better than what he did and was predicted a 3rd Place finish in Group A. In the end, Huisbrink looked very much out of his depth and was unable to pick up even a single point from his group stage fights and ends his season squarely at the bottom of the heap.

Season High – Final season fight against Rogerio De Souza. Was afforded a little bit of time on his feet where he was able to at least throw some strikes but ultimately was still looking second best to even the BJJ fighters stand up ability

Season Low – Season opener against Gargan Morus. This was Huisbrinks fight to shine and he ultimately fell very short of expectations losing in just over a minute by TKO.

Group B – Final Standing and Group Stage Review

1st Place – Antoine Pierre (4-0 Season/5-0 Overall) – 12 Points

Another thoroughly dominant fighter in Antoine Pierre who successfully navigated his early season and is currently looking like the man to beat in the tournament overall. 4-0 in the season and 5-0 overall, with all wins coming by submission and under five minutes. Pierre now moves on to the group stage and faces Group A runner up Gargan Morus

Season High – Quick win over super heavyweight grappler Dreamiest Panda who had looked good in his opening bout

Season Low – If there is one it would be that he was almost taken five minutes into round 1 before finally finishing Manager Yanic in his last bout of the group stage.

2nd Place – Dreamiest Panda (3-1 Season/3-1 Overall) – 9 Points

Panda was always expected to be amongst those qualifying with it being extremely close between himself and Manager Yanic. In the end, Panda didn’t disappoint and finishes the season in second place with a solid 3-1 record. Could be one of the tougher second place qualifiers though he looked vulnerable against Antoine Pierre. He will face Group C winner Ed Wood in the next round

Season High – His win over Manager Yanic was the big test for him after a disappointing performance against Antione Pierre

Season Low – Sole season loss to Antoine Pierre. Was taken down quickly and despite landing some accurate ground and pound was unable to trouble group winner Pierre.

3rd Place – Manager Yanic (2-2 Season/2-2 Overall) – 6 Points

Was expected to qualify somewhere in Group B but will possibly be upset to finish 3rd after a great start to the season in which he picked up a maximum 6 points in dominant fashion but ended up 2-2 overall. Manager Yanic now qualifies for the 5th Place play off and will face Group A’s Rogerio De Souza

Season High – Good Win over competent striker Violet Dawson for maximum points

Season Low – Some might point to his final fight against Antione Pierre but for me his loss to group rival Dreamiest Panda was pivotal in his final 3rd Place standing

4th Place – Violet Dawson (1-3 Season/2-3 Overall) – 3 Points

In a group full of grapplers, Violet Dawson was predicted to struggle and struggle he did losing three of his bouts on the ground. He did manage to end the season in emphatic fashion however with a hard fought TKO victory over group struggler Ben Reed

Season High – Final fight of the season and maximum points after a tough fought clinch battle against Ben Reed

Season Low – Possible his loss to Antoine Pierre who didn’t have the wrestling credentials of some in the group and could have been a good scalp for Dawson who under-performed in this fight.

5th Place – Ben Reed (0-4 Season/0-4 Overall) – 0 Points

Ben Reed came into the tournament as the lightest fighter by far and as a striker it was questioned whether he had the power to finish fights when he needed to. In the end Reed looked very much a class below and underwhelmed with a 0-4 record and zero points overall.

Season High – Last two fights of the season. Reed started to look better as the season went on but was still outclassed overall

Season Low – A hard fought clinch battle against fellow striker and group rival Violet Dawson. The fight that Reed was most likely to pick up points from ended with him coming away empty handed.

Group C – Final Standings and Group Stage Review

1st Place – Ed Wood (4-0 Season/0-3 Overall) – 12 Points

Ed Wood has really impressed so far this season after being predicted only a fourth place finish. Though he was gifted maximum points through Antonio Kirby’s no show, Wood still managed to defeat all others and with all fights coming by way of first round finish. Wood’s now qualifies for the finals as a group winner and could definitely be a dark horse going forward. He will face Group B runner up Dreamiest Panda in the next round.

Season High – A great rock em’ sock em’ fight against James Isaac Abraham to decide the top spot in Group C in which Wood came away with the TKO victory

Season Low – A very tough fight against Chinese striker Zou Li that almost went the full twenty minutes before being stopped by the doctor for a cut on Li. Would have zapped a lot of energy from Wood and no doubt effected his training time in the gym

2nd Place – James Isaac Abraham (3-1 Season/2-1 Overall) – 9 Points

At the beginning of the season Abraham was predicted a 3rd place finish and though will no doubt be happy to have qualified for the finals he could have potentially ended the season as the group winner and avoided a very tough fight against Group D winner Kenji Kozlov in the finals.

Season High – Though a very gruelling, energy sapping fight, Abraham was able to pick up maximum points and a big win over a very tough Zou Li.

Season Low – His final fight of the group stage against Ed Wood in which decided the top spot. After an exciting back and forth five minutes, Wood was able to catch Abraham and resign him the the runner up spot

3rd Place – Zou Li (2-2 Season/2-3 Overall) – 4 Points

Predicted early to be one of the fighters making his way to the finals, Zou Li has had a disappointing season and is fortunate to have qualified for the 5th Place play off. Li may feel aggrieved in having been one of the only fighters to have had to face group favourite Antonio Kirby and not get the automatic maximum points for a forfeit though ultimately it wouldn’t have made any difference to his final standing. Zou Li will now go on to face Group D’s Barry Bludgeon

Season High – Season opener against an extremely tough early tournament favourite Antonio Kirby in which Zou Li came out on top after a gruelling twenty minute fight.

Season Low – Losses due to cuts. An obvious problem for the Chinese fighter and one that has stopped him in his tracks on two occasions now.

4th Place – Check Conga (1-3 Season/0-3 Overall) – 4 Points

Predicted to finish bottom of the group and perhaps would have if not for Antonio Kirby’s absence. Could have qualified in third place with a win over Zou Li in his final season bout but it wasn’t to be and Conga ends the season in fourth without having actually picked up a win thus far.

Season High – Fought Zou Li to a decision loss and looked relatively well rounded on the feet though was outworked over the course of the twenty minute bout

Season Low – A twenty-four second KO loss against James Isaac Abraham in his season opener wasn’t the best start for the Singaporean striker.

5th Place – Antonio Kirby (0-4 Season/0-1 Overall) – 1 Point

At the beginning of the tournament, Antonio Kirby was fully expected to be amongst the favourites to win it all but after suffering a loss during his season opening bout against Zou Li, Kirby’s manager left him high and dry in New York and rumour has it that the London native is still wandering the streets of down town New Jersey stuttering and mumbling to himself in a drunken stupor. A very disappointing end to the Kirby tournament legacy.

Season High – A tough loss to striker Zou Li in his opener. Showed glimpses of the Kirby fighting spirit but was all a little predictable at this point and Zou Li was very well prepared.

Season Low – A.W.O.L for the majority of the season and could have really messed up the overall tournament standings. Luckily things worked their way out by themselves and no one was too effected by the absence.

Group D – Final Standings and Group Stage Review

1st Place – Kenji Kozlov (4-0 Season/4-0 Season) – 12 Points

Predicted a first place finish at the start of the season, Kenji Kozlov surprised us by actually ended up as a striker as opposed to a wrestler as previously thought. Thoroughly dominating Group D, Kozlov finishes the early season group stage with a very impressive 4-0 undefeated record with all wins coming by first round finish. He now moves into the finals and will face Group C runner up James Isaac Abraham

Season High – Comfortable wins over both his predicted group rival Richard Volg and predicted toughest fight Robert Burner.

Season Low – A tough fight with Barry Bludgeon and probably the most vulnerable Kozlov looked so far. Still finished with a big first round TKO however

2nd Place – Richard Volg (2-2 Season/2-2 Overall) – 6 Points*

A tremendous come back to the season for Richard Volg after a disastrous two fight losing streak during the first half of the group stage. Predicted a second place finish at the start of the season, Volg proves those thoughts correct though only by the skin of his teeth. Volg finishes the group stage with a 2-2 record and joint with Barry Bludgeon on 6 points. Volg takes the runner up spot by virtue of having beaten Bludgeon when they met and will now go on to face undefeated Group A winner Early Grayce.

Season High – A Tko victory in a must win fight against Barry Bludgeon after dropping his first two of the season and the fight that, in the end, was the difference between second and third place.

Season Low – Looked under-equipped for wrestler Robert Burner and suffered a first round Tko loss late in the first round.

3rd Place – Barry Bludgeon (2-2 Season/2-2 Overall) – 6 Points

Another fighter to fulfil his early predicted finishing spot is Barry Bludgeon who narrowly misses out on a spot in the finals after losing to the fighter he tied for points. Bludgeon does end the season in the third spot however and will get the opportunity to fight for 5th place. He faces Group C’s Zou Li

Season High – A big start to the season with a two minute KO over Piotr Maczynski who had just upset Robert Burner in his own first fight of the season

Season Low – Loss to Richard Volg after Volg had lost his first two and the fight responsible for his final standing in the group.

4th Place – Robert Burner (1-3 Season/1-3 Overall) – 5 Points

Though finishing in his predicted forth spot with a group stage record of 1-3, Robert Burner gave a good account himself and proved to be a stern test for most of the group though might be left wondering if he couldn’t have performed better in key moments.

Season High – A massive win over group favourite Richard Volg earning him maximum points for a first round TKO victory

Season Low – A very tough season opener against Piotr Maczynski and a disappointing decision loss against the Polish fighter in a fight he was expected to win.

5th Place – Piotr Maczynski (1-3 Season/3-3 Overall) – 3 Points

Out of all the fighters that ended bottom of their groups, Piotr Maczynski was by far the most impressive and managed to amass a total of 3 points and finish the season with a 1-3 record.

Season High – Tough it out for a decision win over Robert Burner in his opening fight of the season for two points.

Season Low – A disappointing follow up fight ending in two minute by KO to third place Barry Bludgeon.

Knockout Stage Finals

Antoine Pierre vs. Gargan Morus

Kenji Kozlov vs. James Isaac Abraham

Ed Wood vs. Dreamiest Panda

Early Grayce vs. Richard Volg

5th Place Playoff

Manager Yanic vs. Rogerio De Souza

Barry Bludgeon vs. Zou Li

Thanks guys and no worries. I'd really like to keep this format going and I would be interested to know if any of the same managers would like to return for a season 2?

Ideally I would have loved to keep as many of the original fighters in it and just recruit any gaps that we need from an agreed upon ID range but I think after this maybe best to start fresh now that everyone knows how things will play out?
