Just to keep you guys in the loop.

Brexit fucked up my head for a while, so I didn't do any work at all for a few days. Other than that, it's only a week and a bit till my wedding, so I've been sorting all that stuff out.

Anyway, I'm not going on honeymoon or anything cos we can't really afford one, plus going away with a baby doesn't seem that much fun anyway, so I'll be cracking on with this after the wedding.

Congratulations on the wedding, I hope both of you have a fantastic time! Remember to be present in the moment, there are more important things in life than a game :)

I've only read about 6 pages of this thread so it may have been discussed, but has a footwork skill ever been considered? this would be similar to striking defence, but would also relate to controlling range. Fighters with good footwork in real life can dictate the range in which a fight takes place at. I think this secondary or a similar version of this skill could add a very interesting dynamic to the game, considering footwork is one of the most important skill in mma, but it is not a direct secondary in this game

Also suggested a whole bunch of counter shit to do with distance and range 5 years ago when the counter engine was totally broken, credit Mike with implementing point G!

Got to stop you right there bud. This is warning #1. You linked an old thread that has ajperok's posts in it. If you do that again then we'll have to set you out for awhile. That is a direct violation of MMAtycoon forum rules.

The 2nd link was quite a treat. The entire Gusundhiet alliance colluding against me trying to figure out how to beat me lol. Gusundhiet may be gone but the way that I've been dismantling vendetta I think they will end up filling that role.

I kind of look at Wolf as being the new Shiv. Their supposed leader that will eventually cry to Mike that I'm too unbeatable and convince him to change the fight engine.

Of course 6 of my 8 fighters all being inside the top 50 P4P was pretty good. So maybe I was unbeatable? Dah, it was probably just a fluke...

I'm literally going to tell the future. Ppl will be claiming the game is broken again. You can't quite tell it now because I don't have enough fighters to push to #1 yet. It'll take time. But its in progress. But what won't happen this time around I CAN tell you. I won't have my sliders spied on. I reset them back to default immediately after every fight. Thats some bullshit that won't go on again.

So #trytocatchmenowbitch

Ooooooooooooooooooooooo look at you puffing out your turkey breast like a big boy. All in one post as well, I'm impressed...no wait I'm not actually nvm

It's just a case of settling on a level of complexity. I've been told several times that we're bordering on too many things to think about at the moment, so I think footwork would be such a minimal improvement for an added level of stuff to think about. In real life it's very important but programming wise it would be functionally exactly the same as speed, with how it's programmed at the moment.

So we currently get a boost in skill depending on what we train leading up to a fight.....why not make that visible? Seems like that would provide a bit of enjoyment. No harm in that.

yes im not sure exactly long leading up to a fight i thought seen mentioned last 10 to 12 sessions -- it gives clues in the fight play by play when you reading he has been training such and such a lot leading up to the fight -- but no indicator yet as to what otherwise

Yeah I think you're right on the 10-12 days. I like it as an improvement to the game. It simulates a fight camp to some degree. My thought was we should expand on it.

Perhaps make it a VIP option that you get to track fight boost the same as you track everyday training.

There's also been talk of a 3rd daily training session being added. I would like to see that maybe being something that was dedicated to fight specific training. The points you gain from the 3rd daily session would only accumulate leading up to a fight and reset after it's over. I was just brainstorming ideas.

FUCK THAT. Say no to 3rd daily session. There's already enough per fighter. Fucking aye if I had to pick another one for every fighter for every day of the week I might just stop. It's meticulous enough as it is. Instead of adding more sessions, just speed training up / boost results for current sessions. Pretty simple solution.

I haven't said a word, mostly because I'm half way out of the game anyways but here are some things that should really be done:

1. Primes should be a collective skill of your related secondary skills. This means you can't be elite in BJJ if you have no subs and similar on M/T if you have no elbow's/knee's and wrestling if you have no TD or GnP.

A. That in it's self will stop at lot of things people complain about, you can't have elite wrestling on a brawl and sprawl guy to help defend takedowns because you can't be elite wrestling without TD's and GnP and all of it's associated secondaries. it's gonna be hard to stop TD's if you don't have them or GnP just do to the wrestling prime. Say if you have only elite TDD and elite Grap D like many sprawl and brawl stand up guys do, then your only gonna be exceptional in the wrestling prime, How far will that go in allowing actual grapplers to get TD's more often?

B. It would make match up much more easy for orgs as you have a better idea of there skills if the secondary skills sets the prime value.

C. Under this system, Sparring can't add points to your prime directly only to all associated secondaries sort of like it does now but no added points to the prime. Your prime will be determined by that secondaries (Obviously, this would need to be decided about and I have no idea or claim to know what levels of secs total should be what level of prime)

D We all know being elite in a prime purely for a defensive purpose is an advantage and this would stop that.

My 2 cents and I will shut up

If you do a physical cap, for the love of God start small as you can always go more if needed. But I think it's going to hurt more then it helps if you go to far. I'm Not keen on the whole Idea of it to start with.

I agree wholeheartedly!

For the record none of my own creations have full elite on all physicals although I do see many free agents with this set up.

I fail to see how a physicals change will help anyone at all... If you want diversity then stop being a pussy and make a fighter differently if you want to be different, otherwise make your fighters identical to everyone elses build!

Would be nice if there were templates that you could save for training schedule similar to the slider setting templates you can save.

I feel like 99% of managers set training 12x one skill for the week. It's tedious any way you do it. It would be so nice to just click one drop down menu and then select circuit training and have it auto fill for the week.

It's not really a major game improvement. But functionality improvements like that go a long way in retaining the older managers that have less patience for the day to day repetitive actions.

When's the last time you managed and maintained a roster full of fighters? and set their training?

making more tedious little tasks, like an extra session per day, or a new clothing item (hats), or making sure you click a little button to wake your fighter up in the morning, or another button or check box to make sure he eats the right food and stays away from sugars and carbs... is not a way to attract or please your customer base. Everybody can agree that the training speed boost from the third session would be nice...

but why not cut the shit and just boost training speed? and if you're deadset on the lower end staying the same, just increase the top end training speed to compensate.

There's going to be a cap for physicals. Great. But It's only going to be effective for older fighters. New fighters it will go back to the same concept it's always been. Evening out.

When this gets implemented and there's a mass reallocation, sure, there will be a lot of diversity. When players can allocate points however they like they will undoubtedly max a few things out. That's great. That's what you want.

But new fighters it will not happen that way. Because there's diminishing returns on training that slow your progress if you try to train high in a single skill.

People will continue to seek out the max gains per session. That means avoiding training high skills til the very end.

I would propose, to combat this, a lollapalooza on training til the age of 21. In that period fighters can train to as high of levels as they want with no diminishing return. So instead of being in a rat race to even out. You could actually train however you see fit.

It is also this diminishing returns system that causes the 110 cap to be necessary in fighter creation. You've got to load up all the skills you can because it saves you training time later. If the cap was at 150 then you'd be crazy not to go 150. Because it would take fuck all amount of time to train to that point. But if the diminishing returns were not a factor then that would not have to be the case. At that point you start getting into how soon fighters can begin fighting, etc.. Which diminishing returns is the cause of that as well....
